With advanced armament he just has to hit goku once and then he's finished and since luffy is immune to punches goku would have to use an energy blast which luffy can deflect by turning the ground rubber

I am both one piece and dragon ball fan it was iconic before now it has just been reduced to nothing but a simple saiyan powerup that is only used for a second and is on sale every alive saiyan that fought with main cast has it.

When I hear a character can destroy the planet and has never destroyed even a small satellite, it's for me like when they say they will teach you a technique that eats away at all your life force... yet they survive teaching it and the main character survives using it like every other Tuesday. No character in One Piece is planetary level. 21st Budokai Roshi destroyed the moon. He can take on all of the One Piece cast alone.

Statements are just as viable as feats and scaling but characters still need to back up their statements either with those stated powers or AP or with an equivalent showcase. Statements are viable but cannot be used in place of feats.

Weaknesses, Luffy can't go in water. Goku can. They can both fly. Both have a stamina drain. But goku has mastered the stamina drain. Goku wont blow up the planet even though he can. goku has a habit of throwing fights he could have won by wanting to see what the person could do. goku has fought Majin Buu who can do things similar but greater. Luffy's range of influence over the environment will have limits so Goku would win, but goku would then pick Luffy back up for multiple rounds in good sport for training. then they will go eat at a buffet. two unstoppable forces meet. they greet each other and move out of each other's way.
This. Luffy, especialy in Gear 5, is extremelly fun loving. Goku wouldn't give a crap that he's stronger than him: he'd see a fighter who genuinely enjoys the fight he's having, and power himself down to just get to have a good time.

Yeah, I generally think Whitebeard and other top tiers cap at planetary for the time being (and depending on future events with the Mother Flame stuff there could be further consistent scaling for large planetary) but that’s nowhere near Goku.

Yeah I mean, the thing I dislike with a lot of these people wanking verses like Naruto, OP, and Bleach WAAAY beyond the actual intended strength of the characters via using really vague statements and extrapolating them way beyond the real meaning and significance, is that they will do that, and then they will midball or lowball another character/verse unfairly instead of taking them at their potential best too. It's really annoying. If we're arguing that Luffy is star level because of vague statements, indirect scaling, and genuine fucking fan-calcs, I'M arguing that Namek Goku is multi-solar system level or universal for similar reasons. He isn't, but we ain't doing this double standard bullshit of highballing one character but not the other. There are situations where highballing for fairness can make sense, but if someone is doing it just to argue that one character wins, "period", it's really stupid.

I like gear transformations. But nothing can actually compare to ssj if you watched dbz in that era. I remember imagining what each super saiyans would be upto 100.

i've had this theory that the speed of light in the dragonball universe is vastly different, as we've seen characters reach light speed or faster than light quite a few times. In Super, Dyspo "could move at light speed" when I know at least in Beerus vs. Goku, they each moved at godly level speeds, and they've gotta be way faster than light at that point

Arale is... A mixed bag, if you want to scale Goku off her. On the one hand, when the original crossover happened,Red Ribbon Saga Kid Goku and Arale were shown to pretty much scale off eachother- pretty equivalent. On the other, if you accept Super as having any validity at all, Arale whooped post resurrection F Vegeta, who's as strong as Goku.

Since no one answered its all because of potential, we have yet to see the limits of haki and we have yet to see the fourth wall breaking powers of luffy, right now I dont think we know enough unless he pulls some absolutely multiversal feat at the end of the series, which he seems to be capable of.

Frieza was able to destroy planets in his restricted form. If goku became around the strength of final form frieza, he would be able to destroy planets with ease. master roshi was able to destroy the moon in classic when goku was still a kid.
Forget Freeza , king Vegeta destroyed three planets by just raising his hand , and his power level is nearly 13,000 , and ssj goku's first appearance was 150,000,000 .

I will say i've seen millions of time FTL for the kaido fight but don't fully get the paper math because of the multipliers and the um strength of how much G5 is stronger then that current arc g4 cause remember OP luffy seems to get stronger as the series goes along but thats the highest i've seen of luffy speed besides running off oh G5 can use luffy imagination and luffy can change his speed and what not. I don’t see how anybody could say gear 5 luffy even comes close to beating goku. Frieza had a power level of 530,000 in his weakest form and could blow up a planet. In the databooks it’s stated that you need a power level of atleast 10,000 to blow up a planet so that means frieza had enough power to destroy a planet 530 times over. No character in one piece is touching goku
Nuclear bomb vs. coughing baby. Piccolo in the Saiyan saga, who was weaker than even Nappa, was able to destroy the moon with one ki blast. That is way more power than we've ever seen displayed by anyone in One Piece, and Goku by the end of the Saiyan saga was many times more powerful than even that. A more fair comparison would be current Luffy vs. Goku at the end of Dragon Ball.
Ironically piccolo has basically all the powers that luffy possess in Gear 5, stretching parts of the body, grabbing and manipulation lightning, become a giant etc..but he still taked a beating from Goku lmao

Bro I stopped watching after I heard that One Piece fans had "Forgotten our place". Seems like anime fans' sense of tribalism is more iconic and powerful than either Luffy or Goku.
One of the things that I always bring up with people talking about Naruto/One Piece comparing to Dragon Ball is that their scale of power never justified or created the need for them to deal with anything besides worldly threats and mortals. Dragon Ball has been dealing with Galactic and Universal threats from a VERY early point and MUI Goku at the end of the anime (not to mention how far manga Goku has gone since then) is exponentially more powerful that any of those forces faced at that point in time.
Luffy has to touch you for anything to work. Seen by kaido countering him in his flaming dragon form. And when he grabs the lightning bolt. You can speed blitz him or blow up the planet.
We are also seen by kizaro. His Billy's can be non effective against certain characters. And not to mention Lucy wouldn't even be able to touch goku. The speed gap is way too far. And goku, like one percent of his power in base form, would annihilate luffy and olive one piece and everybody in In one piece
Not true, when Kaido slammed luffy into the rooftop and his eyes shot out like a cartoon, so was everyone else like Kidd and Law, and he wasnt touching them.
I think Solar System to Multi-Solar System level Namek saga high tiers makes the most sense. Star level always seemed like a lowball, whereas Universal is a bit of a highball (albeit pretty consistent and far better than Luffy or Naruto's "universal metas"). I don't think Luffy gets past 22nd Budokai honestly. Small Planetary power was already surpassed in that arc.
The real debate is, demon king piccolo vs gear 5 luffy and sage of 6 paths naruto no time limit, and the answer is, gear 5 luffy's strongest attacks are continent busting at best and naruto isn't anywhere near as powerful in sage of six paths mode, master roshi destroyed the moon with a power level of 139 and demon king piccolo has 260 power level, it's not a debate, the only thin in dragon ball luffy could beat is the red ribbon army and even then he wouldn't kill doctor I forget how to spell it and well, that won't end well, the only way he beats KAMI at during the demon king piccolo saga is if he realizes the full power of his devil fruit, BUT SAYAIN SAGA GOKU IS WILD, EVEN IF LUFFY HAD SUPER KAIOKEN TIMES 50 (the form was like times 5 or 10 the singular time it was used) OR EVEN SUPER SAYAIN BLUE KAIOKEN TIMES 20 HE WOULD STILL LOSE, I know this because in the super broly movie, he was somewhat on par with super sayain 2 vegeta (I am capitalizing some things so it doesn't underline them because it's annoying and it doesn't work for all caps things for some reason) and then when he went super sayain god he didn't one tap kill broly, so the increase isn't like 5000 times super sayain, and then ssj blue is 50x ssj god and the kaioken times 20 is 20 times more, so lets make some estimations, let's say, and we are highballing it, that continent busting is 75+ power level because master roshi destroyed the moon with barley more, so with that highball we put gear 5 luffy at 75 power level, then we get ssj 2 which is 100 times (50x multiplied by 2) and that makes it which makes it 75k, then we multiply that by (big highball) 100 times (broly got up like nothing happened in like 10-20 seconds) and so that makes it 7.5M, multiply that by 20 for 150M, and WHEN GOKU ARIVES, he has 3M, and then he gets a zenkai boost, but EVEN IGNORNING THAT or saying that I am wrong and he ended up with 3M power level, he still multiplies his power level by 50 in super sayain, and that means it's just hands, not good for luffy, but WAIIIIIIIIT you say, "Luffy can stretch and use haki" first of all, i'm assuming his strongest attacks include haki, observation haki is useful, but does that lead him to a win, no because of my second point, luffy's most powerful attack is the result of him using his stretching powers, and it's an attack of 75 power level that we established before, but we put that as his power level, when he is using an attack way beyond his normal abilitys, that's like saying sayain saga vegeta suddenly increased his power level to 24k in base mid-fight when he went band for band with goku's kaioken times 3 kamehameha (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and keep in mind vegeta ended up less hurt than goku from the kaioken times 4 attack because he could move a bit, because of the strain of kaioken he ended up more hurt even though they were both about as hurt because vegeta go spirit bombed and 3v1'd and that means that kaioken times 2 goku would have been equal to vegeta there, so that's like implying that it wasn't the technique (or plot armour) that let him go band for band with kaioken times 3 goku, which is obsurd, and so goku is faster than luffy by enough here that he can prob just punch him while with his other hand while he is dodging, and that is assuming he doesn't just go KAIOKEN TIMES 10, and blitz luffy, but goku would be up to the challenge, and then win considering he has more range than luffy with ki, and his strongest attack, you could either say is equal to his pure fist, or a kamehameha, that takes no effort, AND WE HIGHBALLED LUFFY AND LOWBALLED GOKU, so yea, namek saga goku beats gear 5 luffy in ssj blue kaioken, AND TO THINK SOME PEOPLE PUT GEAR 5 LUFFY AGAINST MUI GOKU, oh nah, ssj god goku facing someone supressed down to his own level threatened to destroy an infinite universe from the pure force they were making, and MUI goku is atleast 10k times stronger than that, so he goes full power and slams his fist in his palm and the entirety of universe 7 just like, explodes and I don't even watch dragon ball but I know it's at least this and prob way more, hundreds of thousands of times or even millions and that means when he does that it prob destroys like, 7 universes, (wait if that's the case and zeno has to charge a bit to destroy a universe that would imply goku is stronger than him in mui, but then again that's prob just for dramatic effect lol) (edit, forgot to add the blue part so he prob wins there but I CAN make an argument for ssj blue, although 50 times is obviously more than 20 times, and in fact it would be 375M if we are assuming the other stats are correct, but turns out he was just using base super sayain (no sparks) at least from what I found, so that halves it at 187.5M, but the ssj god I realized was a MASSIVE highball, because, if we look at the stats we have seen that even DOUBLE a power level ABSOLUTLEY DESTROYS SOMEONE, in the sayain saga piccolo had 3,500 and got DESTROYED by nappas 4000, goku speedblitzed 50% frieza final form even though he was on par or even losing to frieza 100% (he won because frieza was slowly losing power) and so a IN THEORY correct amount would be 25, because goku survied some hits with frieza at 20x his power level (wait how was he losing in super sayain, damage?) anyways but he was getting about as ragdolled as broly did for that moment but a bit less per hit, so 25 is most likely the answer, so that halves it again bringing him down to 93.75M, enough to get DESTROYED by super sayain, but also even if he has gotten stronger up to about moon-level, that still doesn't bring him much higher than 160M tops, and so either it being his strongest attack being stronger than him or the kaioken that would make him lose, ACTUALLY, SPEAKING OF THE KAIOKEN, as far as we know the only drain super sayain put on goku was a light stamina drain, and with the kaioken it damages you, considering those are very different and separate drains and he could hold kaioken times 10 no issue, with the total power level being brought down to an eight of what it used to be, then HE CAN, heck he would lose if goku was in kaioken times ten assuming my first calculations were correct OR EVEN 5, BUT WITH IT DIVIDED BY 8, HE ISN'T EVEN BEATED HIM WITHOUT SUPER KAIOKEN, EVEN IF YOU PUT HIM AT MOON LEVEL A SIMPLE LIGHT 1.5 OR EVEN 1.2 OR 1.3 WOULD BE ENOUGH WITH NO PLOT ARMOR, HAH, I REALLY WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG, AND EVEN WITHOUT SUPER KAIOKEN, WITH MY THEORY ABOUT HIM BEING WEAKER THAN HIS STRONGEST ATTACK, GOKU COULD SIMPLY GET UP CLOSE BECAUSE IT'S A SLAM ATTACK, AND IF HE WERE ABLE TO SLAM ON HIMSELF TO GET GOKU WITH THAT ARM STRETCHING, HE WOULD ALSO GET HIMSELF, but even if you say not plot armor, no kaioken and that goku wouldn't pull dirty tricks, YOU'RE NERFING HIM BY SAYING NO KAIOKEN, AND HE IS IN A RAGE STATE AT THAT POINT SO DIRTY TRICKS ARE FAIR GAME, but if he doesn't think of that KEEP IN MIND THAT WE There's no way One Piece earth is as big as the sun, that's over a million times bigger than earth And if gravity exists a planet that big wouldn't be able to sustain life because its star would have to be a million times bigger than ours to keep a steady climate On top of all that no human can stand on a planet like that because of the high gravitational force, and no, you can't just say all humans in One Piece have super strength

All this means is that materials in the OP verse are stronger than their real world counter parts as well. And considering that Luffy already had island level AP as far back as Skypia, yet certain buildings/structures only take minimal damage from him and characters that scale to/above him, it’s not inconsistent to argue that either.

yeah this dbz stuff goes crazy, tbh before watching power scaling videos I liked to think that: Vegeta(sayian saga): planet level Frieza: Star level Cell: Solar system level Buu: Galaxy/galaxys level Beerus: Universe level It looked to me like a cool, linear way of progression for the characters. all terrible scaling king vegeta is multi planetary so from your information king vegeta is stronger than frieza who has power level of 16,000. King vegeta destroyed several planets with one attack, if you don't believe it search it up. Frieza was told and shown to be galaxy level with universal feats stated in the show, cell is either multi galaxy or low uni but lets say multi galaxy since there isn't much evidence of low uni feats. Buu is universal since he was stated many times throughout the arc if goku didn't kill him he would destroy the universe by the Kaioshen's and by anime it self. Beerus is multiversal and all gods of destruction are since he is above goku who has shown multiversal feats.

Gear 5 has arguably been Hype since its release in March of 2022, so it’s retained its popularity for a little over a year now. Definitely not as iconic as super saiyan though, that’s just been around much longer, it’s too early to say that Gear 5 is anywhere near as “iconic”

I think namek saga goku and frieza caps at large star level. It is what makes most sense to me, a first form frieza can casually destroy a large planet and he is way stronger in his final form. So him being star level would be reasonable. Also it would also make sense that it goes from a star level threat to a solar system level threat with Cell. As he statet he could destroy the entire solar system. and Buu being a multi galaxy - universal threat, this progression just makes a lot of sense to me. Goku most likely stomps Luffy here.
Personally, I feel like an interesting sequel would be Goku (Pick any time era that feels the most fair) Vs The Shippuden 3 (Naruto, Ichigo, and Luffy)

That's honestly how I feel about a lot of "Speed feats" that people give characters. A lot of the time it's situations where it'd be a lot more likely to simply be aim dodging. And then other times, like with Tanjiro dodging the Drum guy's attacks, they'll say that makes Tanjiro supersonic. That of course ignores the fact that Tanjiro had to move like a foot, and the attack had to move around ten or twenty feet. So even if you don't think it's aim dodging, it still doesn't qualify as supersonic. And for One Piece characters it's fairly obvious that they're not MFTL since Kizaru's lightspeed movement is considered fast. And of course there's the argument of whether Kizaru can actually react and fight at lightspeed, or whether it's just his movement speed that is that fast. And the aim dodging argument for lazers and such holds even more ground in One Piece since, as you say, Observation Haki is a thing.
Nobody even talks about gear 5 anymore. Anime now cannot possible be iconic anymore when everything is able to be restreamed edited and scaled social media has butchered that level of iconic that series had before it.

I agree with you about the Toon Force argument. Just because the animation got silly and his stretchy body became more toon like doesn't mean he got toon force. In fact his rubbery body only mimics the rubber bodies of actual toons due to him literally having the gum gum fruit. He didn't magically get a rubber body that wasn't already in that manner to mimic toons he was just more exaggerated in his movements due to his new "Gear 5". People are always taking one new ability and wanking their heroes to the extreme. Imagine thinking that wacky animation = god tier ability.
In the Manga it was definitely contentious whether or not Luffy had Toon force(even if that’s Oda’s intention) but I wholeheartedly believe the Anime made it clear. Yes I know this video was released a day before the episode, but it’s worth mentioning that none of the stuff in the episode but ONE scene proves it more than this one(a bunch of goofy effects, souses and the iconic *SLAM*, but none as good as this). It’s the scene where Kaido is getting the Loki treatment and if you frame by frame, there’s MULTIPLE frames where Luffy’s eyes and mouth are on the ground and Kaido himself. There’s also him putting his eyes back into his head and his hands go flying out the backside as another example. Trash scaling or not, Luffy should at least be afforded Toon Force in verses battles, even if it’s not the highest extent of toon force(at least yet, let Oda cook y’all)

Gear 5 is definitely 100% a version of "toon force." When they said he's only limited by this imagination, that doesn't mean he can will things into existence like some omnipotent God, but rather he's able to kind of turn the regular rules of reality into rubber as well and bend them in so many ways that he's basically only limited by his imagination. In essence though, he is in fact a Looney Tunes sort of "God." I mean, Oda has gone on record to say that's directly where he took inspiration from and he purposely gave Luffy the "most ridiculous" power imaginable because he wanted"to have fun with it and make people laugh" including even in the most serious moments. Oda believes wholeheartedly that it's possible to have fun even in the most serious of moments. And after being with this series for so long, he's made me a believer in that ideology too.
Goku is a gag character as well. His original anime/manga was a gag show. He destroyed manga panels and other silly things like that. He was also able to put a bite mark into whis, one or the strongest characters in dragon ball period (not counting zeno and stuff) purely for a gag. Who’s even was visibly in pain and it left a mark. So to say luffy has anything over goku with “toon force” or as a “gag character” is plain out stupid.
In that case luffy might be stronger than goku. But as a anime dbz/s >>> one piece. Seeing toon force is worse than the worst plot armors. And I am a bigger fan of one piece.
10:48 I believe in the manga King Kai directly says Goku needs to be careful with his Spirit Bomb on earth because of their sun. I remember him saying that if he used too much energy from the sun then he could risk destroying the earth. It's likely why the Earth Spirit Bomb was so small compared to the Namek and World of the Kai's bomb.

Gear 5 has been described as being able to do LITERALLY anything he imagines, it is reality warping toon force. If someone can give me a reason as to why goku could even stand a chance against any form of toon force I would love to hear it. I personally completely agree with the multi continental - moon level scaling as a big one piece fan. Watching the show or reading the manga, I don't know how ppl even come up with the crazy scaling they do.
People will always take things out of context or extrapolate them to highball or wank characters way beyond reasonable proportions while arguing other characters either at a reasonable and realistic level or power or even below it, because they want to make an argument for why a character they like more would win. They'll say Luffy is star level because "W-well this guide says this and then this guide says this and this character said that and my calculator says this is this big so clearly it's true even though everything we've seen in the entire franchise contradicts it!!!" and then say Goku is sub-planetary fodder because he's never actually destroyed a planet on-screen. It's the same argument that leads to solar system level Naruto and universal-multiversal Bleach. At the very least, if you're gonna highball/wank some characters/verses to their absolute maximum, at least do the same for whoever/whatever is being used for comparison instead of just applying it to the side you clearly WANT to believe is more powerful. I word it this way because no actual thinking human with a fully-functioning brain thinks Luffy is unironically able to destroy stars or something, even Luffy being planet level is pretty generous. But people will argue this things out of a desire to say that Luffy is this powerful, not because they believe he is, truly. Complete ignorance and double standards, idk why people take fictional characters this seriously, it's not that big a deal. At that, I really just dislike how people disregard actual narrative intent in favor of making their own personal theory on how strong a character is. There are times where a character's strength is too vague to say anything concretely or even give a realistic range, but there are some characters where it's clear and obvious what level they're supposed to be on. Naruto at the end of Shippuden is clearly supposed to be a godly warrior that could level continents, whose AP is ranging anywhere from multi-continent-moon level, maybe planet level at max. That's just what Naruto is supposed to be at and anyone with common sense knows this. Saying he's a star buster or something similarly ludicrous is disregarding the actual intended portrayal of the character's power and is no better than simple headcanon.

Weaknesses, Luffy can't go in water. Goku can. They can both fly. Both have a stamina drain. But goku has mastered the stamina drain. Goku wont blow up the planet even though he can. goku has a habit of throwing fights he could have won by wanting to see what the person could do. goku has fought Majin Buu who can do things similar but greater. Luffy's range of influence over the environment will have limits so Goku would win, but goku would then pick Luffy back up for multiple rounds in good sport for training. then they will go eat at a buffet. two unstoppable forces meet. they greet each other and move out of each other's way.
This. Luffy, especialy in Gear 5, is extremelly fun loving. Goku wouldn't give a crap that he's stronger than him: he'd see a fighter who genuinely enjoys the fight he's having, and power himself down to just get to have a good time.

i've had this theory that the speed of light in the dragonball universe is vastly different, as we've seen characters reach light speed or faster than light quite a few times. In Super, Dyspo "could move at light speed" when I know at least in Beerus vs. Goku, they each moved at godly level speeds, and they've gotta be way faster than light at that point

I don’t see how anybody could say gear 5 luffy even comes close to beating goku. Frieza had a power level of 530,000 in his weakest form and could blow up a planet. In the databooks it’s stated that you need a power level of atleast 10,000 to blow up a planet so that means frieza had enough power to destroy a planet 530 times over. No character in one piece is touching goku

One of the things that I always bring up with people talking about Naruto/One Piece comparing to Dragon Ball is that their scale of power never justified or created the need for them to deal with anything besides worldly threats and mortals. Dragon Ball has been dealing with Galactic and Universal threats from a VERY early point and MUI Goku at the end of the anime (not to mention how far manga Goku has gone since then) is exponentially more powerful that any of those forces faced at that point in time.

I think Solar System to Multi-Solar System level Namek saga high tiers makes the most sense. Star level always seemed like a lowball, whereas Universal is a bit of a highball (albeit pretty consistent and far better than Luffy or Naruto's "universal metas"). I don't think Luffy gets past 22nd Budokai honestly. Small Planetary power was already surpassed in that arc.

The real debate is, demon king piccolo vs gear 5 luffy and sage of 6 paths naruto no time limit, and the answer is, gear 5 luffy's strongest attacks are continent busting at best and naruto isn't anywhere near as powerful in sage of six paths mode, master roshi destroyed the moon with a power level of 139 and demon king piccolo has 260 power level, it's not a debate, the only thin in dragon ball luffy could beat is the red ribbon army and even then he wouldn't kill doctor I forget how to spell it and well, that won't end well, the only way he beats KAMI at during the demon king piccolo saga is if he realizes the full power of his devil fruit, BUT SAYAIN SAGA GOKU IS WILD, EVEN IF LUFFY HAD SUPER KAIOKEN TIMES 50 (the form was like times 5 or 10 the singular time it was used) OR EVEN SUPER SAYAIN BLUE KAIOKEN TIMES 20 HE WOULD STILL LOSE, I know this because in the super broly movie, he was somewhat on par with super sayain 2 vegeta (I am capitalizing some things so it doesn't underline them because it's annoying and it doesn't work for all caps things for some reason) and then when he went super sayain god he didn't one tap kill broly, so the increase isn't like 5000 times super sayain, and then ssj blue is 50x ssj god and the kaioken times 20 is 20 times more, so lets make some estimations, let's say, and we are highballing it, that continent busting is 75+ power level because master roshi destroyed the moon with barley more, so with that highball we put gear 5 luffy at 75 power level, then we get ssj 2 which is 100 times (50x multiplied by 2) and that makes it which makes it 75k, then we multiply that by (big highball) 100 times (broly got up like nothing happened in like 10-20 seconds) and so that makes it 7.5M, multiply that by 20 for 150M, and WHEN GOKU ARIVES, he has 3M, and then he gets a zenkai boost, but EVEN IGNORNING THAT or saying that I am wrong and he ended up with 3M power level, he still multiplies his power level by 50 in super sayain, and that means it's just hands, not good for luffy, but WAIIIIIIIIT you say, "Luffy can stretch and use haki" first of all, i'm assuming his strongest attacks include haki, observation haki is useful, but does that lead him to a win, no because of my second point, luffy's most powerful attack is the result of him using his stretching powers, and it's an attack of 75 power level that we established before, but we put that as his power level, when he is using an attack way beyond his normal abilitys, that's like saying sayain saga vegeta suddenly increased his power level to 24k in base mid-fight when he went band for band with goku's kaioken times 3 kamehameha (sorry if I spelt that wrong) and keep in mind vegeta ended up less hurt than goku from the kaioken times 4 attack because he could move a bit, because of the strain of kaioken he ended up more hurt even though they were both about as hurt because vegeta go spirit bombed and 3v1'd and that means that kaioken times 2 goku would have been equal to vegeta there, so that's like implying that it wasn't the technique (or plot armour) that let him go band for band with kaioken times 3 goku, which is obsurd, and so goku is faster than luffy by enough here that he can prob just punch him while with his other hand while he is dodging, and that is assuming he doesn't just go KAIOKEN TIMES 10, and blitz luffy, but goku would be up to the challenge, and then win considering he has more range than luffy with ki, and his strongest attack, you could either say is equal to his pure fist, or a kamehameha, that takes no effort, AND WE HIGHBALLED LUFFY AND LOWBALLED GOKU, so yea, namek saga goku beats gear 5 luffy in ssj blue kaioken, AND TO THINK SOME PEOPLE PUT GEAR 5 LUFFY AGAINST MUI GOKU, oh nah, ssj god goku facing someone supressed down to his own level threatened to destroy an infinite universe from the pure force they were making, and MUI goku is atleast 10k times stronger than that, so he goes full power and slams his fist in his palm and the entirety of universe 7 just like, explodes and I don't even watch dragon ball but I know it's at least this and prob way more, hundreds of thousands of times or even millions and that means when he does that it prob destroys like, 7 universes, (wait if that's the case and zeno has to charge a bit to destroy a universe that would imply goku is stronger than him in mui, but then again that's prob just for dramatic effect lol) (edit, forgot to add the blue part so he prob wins there but I CAN make an argument for ssj blue, although 50 times is obviously more than 20 times, and in fact it would be 375M if we are assuming the other stats are correct, but turns out he was just using base super sayain (no sparks) at least from what I found, so that halves it at 187.5M, but the ssj god I realized was a MASSIVE highball, because, if we look at the stats we have seen that even DOUBLE a power level ABSOLUTLEY DESTROYS SOMEONE, in the sayain saga piccolo had 3,500 and got DESTROYED by nappas 4000, goku speedblitzed 50% frieza final form even though he was on par or even losing to frieza 100% (he won because frieza was slowly losing power) and so a IN THEORY correct amount would be 25, because goku survied some hits with frieza at 20x his power level (wait how was he losing in super sayain, damage?) anyways but he was getting about as ragdolled as broly did for that moment but a bit less per hit, so 25 is most likely the answer, so that halves it again bringing him down to 93.75M, enough to get DESTROYED by super sayain, but also even if he has gotten stronger up to about moon-level, that still doesn't bring him much higher than 160M tops, and so either it being his strongest attack being stronger than him or the kaioken that would make him lose, ACTUALLY, SPEAKING OF THE KAIOKEN, as far as we know the only drain super sayain put on goku was a light stamina drain, and with the kaioken it damages you, considering those are very different and separate drains and he could hold kaioken times 10 no issue, with the total power level being brought down to an eight of what it used to be, then HE CAN, heck he would lose if goku was in kaioken times ten assuming my first calculations were correct OR EVEN 5, BUT WITH IT DIVIDED BY 8, HE ISN'T EVEN BEATED HIM WITHOUT SUPER KAIOKEN, EVEN IF YOU PUT HIM AT MOON LEVEL A SIMPLE LIGHT 1.5 OR EVEN 1.2 OR 1.3 WOULD BE ENOUGH WITH NO PLOT ARMOR, HAH, I REALLY WAS RIGHT ALL ALONG, AND EVEN WITHOUT SUPER KAIOKEN, WITH MY THEORY ABOUT HIM BEING WEAKER THAN HIS STRONGEST ATTACK, GOKU COULD SIMPLY GET UP CLOSE BECAUSE IT'S A SLAM ATTACK, AND IF HE WERE ABLE TO SLAM ON HIMSELF TO GET GOKU WITH THAT ARM STRETCHING, HE WOULD ALSO GET HIMSELF, but even if you say not plot armor, no kaioken and that goku wouldn't pull dirty tricks, YOU'RE NERFING HIM BY SAYING NO KAIOKEN, AND HE IS IN A RAGE STATE AT THAT POINT SO DIRTY TRICKS ARE FAIR GAME, but if he doesn't think of that KEEP IN MIND THAT WE Let’s say this premise is correct and the gravity of the OP planet needs to be greater than that of earth (it doesn’t, it’s possible for a planet with larger volume but less density to have the same gravitational acceleration as earth does).
All this means is that materials in the OP verse are stronger than their real world counter parts as well. And considering that Luffy already had island level AP as far back as Skypia, yet certain buildings/structures only take minimal damage from him and characters that scale to/above him, it’s not inconsistent to argue that either.

Vegeta(sayian saga): planet level
Frieza: Star level
Cell: Solar system level
Buu: Galaxy/galaxys level
Beerus: Universe level

all terrible scaling king vegeta is multi planetary so from your information king vegeta is stronger than frieza who has power level of 16,000. King vegeta destroyed several planets with one attack, if you don't believe it search it up. Frieza was told and shown to be galaxy level with universal feats stated in the show, cell is either multi galaxy or low uni but lets say multi galaxy since there isn't much evidence of low uni feats. Buu is universal since he was stated many times throughout the arc if goku didn't kill him he would destroy the universe by the Kaioshen's and by anime it self. Beerus is multiversal and all gods of destruction are since he is above goku who has shown multiversal feats.

I know I’m late but I think people also forget a couple of things
1: goku in dragon ball super when fighting jiren goku powerd up to Mui and while he was transforming he created a galaxy.
2: goku base form has power level of 45 billion
3: goku and vegeta after all of the training on different planets and using all kinds of methods to get stronger they both can lift 75 ducillion or 3 Jupiters
4: goku using instant transmission was event stated you dematerialize and travel as a mass of light or in simple terms he moves faster than light because they leave space/time and enter into another point of location
5 : finally goku has mui and yes I’m just using the anime if I also include the manga we can also include his finally form which most people forget is his perfectd mui state which is exactly what is sounds like he can use it at anytime and it’s better than true ui

I think namek saga goku and frieza caps at large star level. It is what makes most sense to me, a first form frieza can casually destroy a large planet and he is way stronger in his final form. So him being star level would be reasonable. Also it would also make sense that it goes from a star level threat to a solar system level threat with Cell. As he statet he could destroy the entire solar system. and Buu being a multi galaxy - universal threat, this progression just makes a lot of sense to me. Goku most likely stomps Luffy here.

That's honestly how I feel about a lot of "Speed feats" that people give characters. A lot of the time it's situations where it'd be a lot more likely to simply be aim dodging. And then other times, like with Tanjiro dodging the Drum guy's attacks, they'll say that makes Tanjiro supersonic. That of course ignores the fact that Tanjiro had to move like a foot, and the attack had to move around ten or twenty feet. So even if you don't think it's aim dodging, it still doesn't qualify as supersonic. And for One Piece characters it's fairly obvious that they're not MFTL since Kizaru's lightspeed movement is considered fast. And of course there's the argument of whether Kizaru can actually react and fight at lightspeed, or whether it's just his movement speed that is that fast. And the aim dodging argument for lazers and such holds even more ground in One Piece since, as you say, Observation Haki is a thing.

I agree with you about the Toon Force argument. Just because the animation got silly and his stretchy body became more toon like doesn't mean he got toon force. In fact his rubbery body only mimics the rubber bodies of actual toons due to him literally having the gum gum fruit. He didn't magically get a rubber body that wasn't already in that manner to mimic toons he was just more exaggerated in his movements due to his new "Gear 5". People are always taking one new ability and wanking their heroes to the extreme. Imagine thinking that wacky animation = god tier ability.
In the Manga it was definitely contentious whether or not Luffy had Toon force(even if that’s Oda’s intention) but I wholeheartedly believe the Anime made it clear. Yes I know this video was released a day before the episode, but it’s worth mentioning that none of the stuff in the episode but ONE scene proves it more than this one(a bunch of goofy effects, souses and the iconic *SLAM*, but none as good as this). It’s the scene where Kaido is getting the Loki treatment and if you frame by frame, there’s MULTIPLE frames where Luffy’s eyes and mouth are on the ground and Kaido himself. There’s also him putting his eyes back into his head and his hands go flying out the backside as another example. Trash scaling or not, Luffy should at least be afforded Toon Force in verses battles, even if it’s not the highest extent of toon force(at least yet, let Oda cook y’all)
Kaido also got burnt to a crips and then popped back like it didn’t happen. Oda literally said that episode was meant to be like a Tom and Jerry episode

Gear 5 is definitely 100% a version of "toon force." When they said he's only limited by this imagination, that doesn't mean he can will things into existence like some omnipotent God, but rather he's able to kind of turn the regular rules of reality into rubber as well and bend them in so many ways that he's basically only limited by his imagination. In essence though, he is in fact a Looney Tunes sort of "God." I mean, Oda has gone on record to say that's directly where he took inspiration from and he purposely gave Luffy the "most ridiculous" power imaginable because he wanted"to have fun with it and make people laugh" including even in the most serious moments. Oda believes wholeheartedly that it's possible to have fun even in the most serious of moments. And after being with this series for so long, he's made me a believer in that ideology too.
Goku is a gag character as well. His original anime/manga was a gag show. He destroyed manga panels and other silly things like that. He was also able to put a bite mark into whis, one or the strongest characters in dragon ball period (not counting zeno and stuff) purely for a gag. Who’s even was visibly in pain and it left a mark. So to say luffy has anything over goku with “toon force” or as a “gag character” is plain out stupid.
Also counting the fact whis is an actual god. Like no ifs or buts, a god who can literally reverse time.
In that case luffy might be stronger than goku. But as a anime dbz/s >>> one piece. Seeing toon force is worse than the worst plot armors. And I am a bigger fan of one piece.
10:48 I believe in the manga King Kai directly says Goku needs to be careful with his Spirit Bomb on earth because of their sun. I remember him saying that if he used too much energy from the sun then he could risk destroying the earth. It's likely why the Earth Spirit Bomb was so small compared to the Namek and World of the Kai's bomb.

Gear 5 has been described as being able to do LITERALLY anything he imagines, it is reality warping toon force. If someone can give me a reason as to why goku could even stand a chance against any form of toon force I would love to hear it. And even if he doesn’t have toon force, it’s at least reality warping which goku can’t even scrape the surface of. Fuck namek saga, ultra instinct goku gets demolished with no diff by gear 5.

This is copium Even Luffy’s new cartoonish power won’t do much, if anything at all, seeing as Hybrid Kaido is tanking his blows with moderate/high difficulty, even though he’s fatigued Not only is goku universal in base maybe even more post manga but he can take his own attacks meaning luffy can do absolutely nothing to really hurt him On top of that since he scales massively above Luffy, he can negate his hax with raw power.

I personally completely agree with the multi continental - moon level scaling as a big one piece fan. Watching the show or reading the manga, I don't know how ppl even come up with the crazy scaling they do.

People will always take things out of context or extrapolate them to highball or wank characters way beyond reasonable proportions while arguing other characters either at a reasonable and realistic level or power or even below it, because they want to make an argument for why a character they like more would win. They'll say Luffy is star level because "W-well this guide says this and then this guide says this and this character said that and my calculator says this is this big so clearly it's true even though everything we've seen in the entire franchise contradicts it!!!" and then say Goku is sub-planetary fodder because he's never actually destroyed a planet on-screen. It's the same argument that leads to solar system level Naruto and universal-multiversal Bleach. At the very least, if you're gonna highball/wank some characters/verses to their absolute maximum, at least do the same for whoever/whatever is being used for comparison instead of just applying it to the side you clearly WANT to believe is more powerful. I word it this way because no actual thinking human with a fully-functioning brain thinks Luffy is unironically able to destroy stars or something, even Luffy being planet level is pretty generous. But people will argue this things out of a desire to say that Luffy is this powerful, not because they believe he is, truly. Complete ignorance and double standards, idk why people take fictional characters this seriously, it's not that big a deal.
At that, I really just dislike how people disregard actual narrative intent in favor of making their own personal theory on how strong a character is. There are times where a character's strength is too vague to say anything concretely or even give a realistic range, but there are some characters where it's clear and obvious what level they're supposed to be on. Naruto at the end of Shippuden is clearly supposed to be a godly warrior that could level continents, whose AP is ranging anywhere from multi-continent-moon level, maybe planet level at max. That's just what Naruto is supposed to be at and anyone with common sense knows this. Saying he's a star buster or something similarly ludicrous is disregarding the actual intended portrayal of the character's power and is no better than simple headcanon.

Base goku was leagues stronger than freiza first form, not to mention the last form is like, infinitely higher than his first. And then Ss goku is omega higher than that. Like it makes his first form’s feat straight up pathetic. Not to mention saiyans with like, a power level of 300 can just blast a planet away.. then base goku namek is 180,000. That would mean just kaioken x20 gives 3.6 Million. And that’s not even his strongest form. So with a lot of highballing that stays in the realm of a possible rating, you could get him to low galaxy or high solar system
