On my Mazda 3 the side mirror reverse tilt happens when you have one of the mirrors selected on the driver door. There are no other settings for it. Just whichever mirror you have selected (as if you are going to adjust them) will be the one that tilts down in reverse. Traded in a 2023 RAV4 PRIME XSE PREMIUM...It's the king...However, I like the CX-90 so far (got it yesterday). I agree with them on how the system works. I like how, in normal mode, it will go to hybrid on the interstate around 70mph. This helps you automatically preserve the EV for where it's more efficient. It does go into EV at those speeds too. It switches back and forth. You can lock it into EV by selecting EV instead of Normal at start-up. Oh, as a ND2 Miata owner, I took it out while the wife was sleeping and when to my favorite off-ramp: THE TAIL CAME LOOSE WITHOUT ESC intervention! It was STUNNING. It really does drive amazingly! But... this being a hybrid, would you get better milage using fuel over a regular ICE vehicle? Or is it just the 26 miles+ regular car milage with the gas?
13:34 to 13:45 for the tuxmat does it deliver to USA. 0:49 to 0:56 what happen if you put premium fuel for the Mazda cx90 plug in hybrid does make the horsepower little more for the gasoline.
I wish the PHEV was designed without the context of the I-6 engine, that hood length could have been reallocated for more cabin space and practicality. But in aiming for a premium segment they made a great vehicle overall that's going to be a tempting upgrade for me, from a CX-5.
I make at least half a dozen trips daily taking kids to school, sports practices, and other extracurricular activities. Having that twenty something mile electric range will save me so much in gas. I want one. And I actually like the plastic over the fenders black more than body colored.
25 miles of EV range on one charge. or 25 Mpg EPA combined rating so one battery charge (15 Kwh) saves 1 gallon of gas In my area it costs $2.85 to charge that battery and one gallon of gas is $3.19 45 years to just break even on the $4,000 PHEV option cost. @@clarkkent9080wow the spam is laughable. I own a new cx-90 PHEV I'm getting up to 33 miles on EV and my gas is 5$ per gall or more for premium in Seattle.

The information I provide is for people considering a CX-90 PHEV. People that already own them have made that decision and you can't change that now. The 25 miles of EV range is the typical range almost everyone on these channels have stated that they get. If you get 33 miles of EV range, I would assume that you get at least 33 mpg on gasoline so the calculation comes out the same with one electric charge saving no more than 1 gallon of gasoline. The only people who tend to get mad, like you, are people who already own a CX-90 and once they learn these facts they are reevaluating that decision.
@@clarkkent9080 mad? Quite the opposite actually. Curious though, are you? Seems that way because you appear to strongly dislike the PHEV. What you don't realize is how convenient it is to plug in at home and rarely go to the gas station. I'm nearing 1000 miles and still on the original tank of gas from the dealership lol.
I have one in the states and it actually takes 8-10 hours on a standard outlet (unless Canada has more output) and 2hr is standard for the level 2 charger, not 1hr.
They cap it at like 7kWh charge rate, and you get about 14kWh and then there’s another 3 or so kWh buffer they don’t show you in the percentages. So 2hr to 2hr 20m.
Can you give us some numbers please? What's the maximum charging power (in kW) on Type 2 AC? What's the maximum charging power (in kW) on DC? (2:46) What's the maximum amount of energy that it can charge out of the 17.8 kWh battery after you fully deplete the battery?
So it’s not really a hybrid? It’s electric under a certain speed and then transitions to gas? They should have just mated the electric motor to the gas motor, so you’d actually have that 323 hp on tap and it’d get overall better gas mileage. If this was a true hybrid it’d probably get 35ish mpg? Could this do 100 miles of city driving with regen braking turned on?! Or would it just deplete the battery quickly and you’d be forced to use the gas engine the rest of the drive.
As a owner of a CX90 for a month now i, I had my parking brake malfunctioned already which needed mazda USA tech support to be involved. They took 7 days to get the problem resolved. Terrible support for such a new vehicle.. They didnt know what was the root cause they simply replaced my ABS.
aside from the engine i really don’t see anything in this particular trim that suggests this is upscale from an interior perspective, it looks to be on the same level as the pilot, highlander, etc
I've been seeing almost exclusively Mazda ads on RUclips for about two years now. Do they have ANY money left for R&D, after spending so entirely much on advertising ? Octane: We only get 91, as the highest, in Cali.
@@TheStraightPipes I’m not to savvy with cars. Dealership claims it’s the turbo. It’s very annoying to pay that type of money and get that type of shifting.
The CX-90 is extremely complex in order to get good fuel economy. Driving up a steep incline, ICE operating and transmission clutch closes to engage electric motor for more power. Road begins to level off and trans clutch opens to disengage electric motor. Road levels off more and ICE begins to deactivate cylinders. You take your foot off accelerator and ICE shuts down and trans clutch opens to disengage ICE and let you coast. You touch the brake and trans clutch engages the electric generator for regen braking. All that is the space of a few minutes and happens hundreds of times during a normal drive. That jerky feeling is the crutches shifting between functions. You probably don't feel the start/stop of the ICE because the engine is new and it starts right up. After 10-20k miles when things begin to wear, you will begin to feel that when it takes a second or 2 to start that ICE. The turbo does not even spool up till you are at speed and I hate when a dealership service department that knows that simple fact or God even worst, should know that, and they LIE to your face
People should wait a year or so before buying PHEV's. Why ? 1. They are overpriced and untested. 2. Most of the cheaper phev's use AC charging which is slow and impractical especially for those who are saving to buy a home. 3. My top reason: if I'm going to buy a new car with better technology I'd expect it to have a longer range than my existing. PHEV's will mature but they aren't yet.

I have a CX-5 and was looking to move up to a CX-70. But they say it is the same size as the CX-90 with one less row. Also everything about the CX-70/90 is completely new except for that 2.5l and the bugs will not be worked out for at least a few years. The CX-60 owners are already reporting problems.
Sorry for so many comments, here's what's all missing from this TOP LEVEL Car (I have the PHEV Premium Plus):
-No power tilt/telescoping wheel
-No Interior-matched faux suede door panel (still has contrast stitching and piping)
-Nappa leather, but not Quilted
-No lane tracking
-No body colored wheel wells
-No Driver Personalization System
-No Adaptive Headlight
-No rear footwell lighting
-No Side Mirror reverse-tilt (they do power fold. Didn't see tilt in settings...I looked for it...Will look again)
-No illuminated tailgate taillights (Turbo S only: looks better going all the way across)
-No rear air conditioned seats
-Smaller trunk than 6 seater (The 7 seater 3rd row tilts back, keeping you from placing a 2nd carry-on on top of another...It matters...Check my page for a video of this soon)
-No automatic unlock on rear door handles
-No 2nd row center console (although Mazda's site states that it does?)
-No "Turning across path alert and brake" and Reverse brake support doesn't have "Pedestrian detection" according to the sight. I actually felt this system when turning right onto a road (alerted me of an oncoming car while creeping forward)
That's a lot of stuff missing for $800 MORE... But my wife likes riding on solar-sourced electricity. I'm bougie, so this bothered me quite a bit. It's her car though, and it likely will do what we need nicely. And it handles great.
On my Mazda 3 the side mirror reverse tilt happens when you have one of the mirrors selected on the driver door. There are no other settings for it. Just whichever mirror you have selected (as if you are going to adjust them) will be the one that tilts down in reverse.
I wish they didn't punish PHEV drivers as much....not having lane tracking, a touchscreen, the premium lights, or driver personalization just for picking the hybrid power train sucks.
@@djw1091994 Exactly, it's just too much important stuff... For mirrors: The car will be back soon and I'll make sure I had a direction selected. It's like that on a lot of vehicles I owned so I don't know why I didn't confirm that.
@@djw1091994 They definitely DO NOT tilt...but the ones in the Turbo S do...Just one more missing feature. About the Cruise: It works better than my Model S Plaid's when it comes to following distance / vehicles changing lanes while another vehicle in front of them is braking / etc. The distance function is very cool. But it pains me that my $60k didn't get lane tracing, as I'm sure it's amazing. I don't need "Hands-Off", I just want "easily stay straight."
It does have touchscreen carplay, you may wanna check some more. Go in to Communication settings, and click in to your phone’s name, scroll to bottom for always enabling touch in motion.
I’ve heard elsewhere that the premium plus trim on the PHEV CX 90 does not have memory for the mirrors, just memory for the seats
That is the sickest dashboard display Mazda ever created! Usually car manufacturer uses green, blue, white, red and orange, but the purple used by Mazda somehow looked sensually interesting.
I wish I could drive with the purple in any mode… I think it looks that good.
Thanks guys. My choice too is the C-90 PHEV. I've driven them all and like the PHEV.
->"I think I'll keep my CX-5 forever." Yeah, me too. I've added SO many upgrades in powertrain (Sport Cork intercooler & pipes), gas hood struts, roof racks, LOTS of interior trim like lighted CX-5 door sills and (only) the tasteful Ali Babba Express interior trim - don't laugh, it's good stuff.. So yeah, I'm keeping mine "forever" too. It's beautiful, quick and fast. Plus my Michelin Cross Climate 2 all season tires are JUST as good in snow as the best snow tires I've ever owned.
Way better than our 2019 X7 (although that one was beautifully floaty on the interstate).
You think I should change my inline 6 to PHEV?
@@mbenton6Depends on which trim level. I would've bought the Turbo S because "Lane Tracing Assist" is a big deal for me (because I've owned Teslas for so long).
I do really like the PHEV. We've only had it a day though, but drove it home on interstate and country roads. It'll likely save you some money, even though it costs slightly more.

@@mbenton6 I put another post up here about what’s missing from a top line Premium Plus PHEV and a Loaded Turbo S. Look at that post, and if you desire any of those features (I’d they’re deal breakers) you should get the Turbo S. The PHEV feels faster, btw. Try to drive them back to back if a dealer near you has one.
Did you calculate savings? It gets 25 miles on EV only and 25 mpg combined mileage on ICE. That means that one battery charge only saves at most 1 gallon of gasoline and in my area 1 gallon of gas cost less than recharging that battery with 16 Kwh. That is unless you get electric for free.
Very nice and detailed video as usual !! Thanks guys. For your information the PHEV have Heat Pump so it should be good in winter to be in EV mode only !
Oh good. If I were to consider a PHEV, heat generation would be a big factor. Why have a PHEV if you MUST run the engine for heat half the year?
Is it the same for the Lexus NX 450h?
@@deansmits006 I have a PHEV now. Running your engine when you get to cruise ~ 35mph. Ensures fast warmup and efficiency. I don't understand this argument from PHEV folks. The whole point of PHEV is to still burn gas when needed. Gas engines provide heat faster than heat pumps too.
Loving this from Mazda. I hope they now expand on their BEV's.
I would love to get a PHEV which is only driven by electric motors, with more EV range (100 km) and the gasoline engine as a generator, similar to the MX-30 R-EV.
I’m loving my Turbo S Premium Plus and Mazda definitely hit a home run with this CX90. The personalization feature is one of my favorites. It is so nice to get into the car and says Welcome Ray and sets me up to my preset driving mode. Go Mazda🎉
How is the transmission so far in everyday driving ? I believe this is the million dollar question for a lot buyers.
@@kevtn8 I only have a few hundred miles on it so far but overall it is a smooth and quick shifting transmission. I have read some of the same on being jerky at a low speed feedback. I understand that the face recognition does not work all the time. So people are spending more time fooling around with trying to get it to work when they could make the adjustments themselves.
I am sure people could make a case for power turn signal stalks and climate controls that read your mind on the desired temperature. But you have to buy the Mercedes to get the automatic aroma dispenser and I find it hard to live without that

I'm patiently waiting for the 70 phev! I think it'll be later this year it comes over to NA. I don't need the three rows.
This is probably my next family car - replacing a 2011 CX-9. I am disappointed in the eletric-only range though. The world NEEDS Phev's with 100 miles of range if we want to turn the tables and get more total EV miles driven. Electric only is not yet up to par for families who do lots of long driving trips and then PHEV's don't give you enough range except for a one-way trip to work for most folks. I'd take this car with 250 HP if it had more electric only range!!
Do you realize that electricity is not free and charging that battery (15 Kwh) cost almost the same amount as the gas it saves costs.

Mazdas largest SUV and you can’t fit a set of golf clubs in the cargo area. Truly wanted one of these and the width of these vehicles needs to be a foot wider. Measured the internal dimensions at a dealer and I think it was 39”. Hysterical.

This would be a no brainer for me if they just had lane centering. I have long drives so lane centering really helps out with overall comfort and safety.
it has all that if you look at the specs: Lane Keep-assist System (LAS),
Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS),
Emergency Lane Keeping with Road Keep Assist . If I get it, I would disable all that, don't want it to ever take control of steering or breaking.

I don't understand the point of Phev. 26 miles per chsrge is kinda bleh when you live in a large city full of heat and traffic. I love the vehicle. But... this being a hybrid, would you get better milage using fuel over a regular ICE vehicle? Or is it just the 26 miles+ regular car milage with the gas?

Thanks for talking about its vibration. Fantastic review. Please test other trims as well.
I would assume It makes heat from the compressor .. which is electric ..

Also the PHEV does have touchscreen but only if you have the largest 12” display, which in the states is the Premium Plus.
For work, I'd get the PHEV. For personal, I'd get the inline 6....
Can you give us some numbers please?
What's the maximum charging power (in kW) on Type 2 AC?
What's the maximum charging power (in kW) on DC? (2:46)
What's the maximum amount of energy that it can charge out of the 17.8 kWh battery after you fully deplete the battery?
Man it didn’t even work when I plugged it into my house.
INLINE 6 ALL DAY. IT LOOKS WAYS BETTER WITH BODY PAINT MATCH ARCHES
“Yuri forgot to ask Mazda guys” LOL

We have recently purchased the cx90 turbo. It’s got a jerky shift when first accelerating. Anyone else experiencing?
Ya it’s annoying.
I just reserved mine but no one can tell me how long PHEV models will arrive. Do you have any info?
Why not just turn the heat on and listen for the engine?
Yuri, it's the gfi wall socket the problem
Does anyone know how often you have to charge if youre only driving 20 miles a day, using hybrid mode?
We test drove one today and my wife checked the visors. Lol!
Is the lithium battery air cooled or liquid cooled ?
