Thor and Thanos were the very core of this movie and exactly why it is a masterpiece
It felt like a Thor movie to me
@@mustaquimahmedtanbeer2437 It was actually intentional between this moving coming right after Ragnarok and the directors saying he was the main character of Infinity War besides Thanos
I feel like everyone is great but those 2 especially. Rocket really does help Thor's character arc too

Chris Hemsworth’s acting was solid in this scene. His facial acting really carried across his hatred and pain whilst pushing Stormbreaker into Thanos, and Josh Brolin also nailed it perfectly. Two legends
I totally agree with you. He is so talent
Do you think the reason Thor didn’t take his arm off or that is cause he didn’t entirely realise thanks had all the stones ready to go
They were the glue that make Infinity War the absolute PEAK of the Infinity Saga, otherwise, it wouldn’t have worked at all
Thor and Thanos were intentionally made to be the heart and soul of Infinity War’s story
Bcs of good director..any good actor with bad director will end up screwed
Agreed.
I think the simple thing that sets MCU movies apart is that while yes, it's 90% an action movie, the actors actually bother to act.
Can we take a moment to just appreciate how casually Stormbreaker overwhelmed a blast from all six stones? Looking forward to Thor 4!

Nah. It's nothing iconic.
@@SebasaBengiathat’s a mfn lie he had the stones & Thor still babied him
The entire movie potrayed Thanos as an unstoppable force who was undefeatable. Every hero who faced him, fell before his feet and it made us so excited to see and learn about the new danger of this villain. At the climax of this movie, we had no idea how Thanos was going to be put down and were sitting on the edge of our seats, watching how he rampages through everything and everyone. Then Thor, as mighty as he is, came down, striked him like a God, clashed his Axe against an infinite power of destruction, opened up Thanos his chest and became the only one who made him fall on his knees. This was the most satisfying and exciting moment of the movie and makes Thor one of the coldest characters in Marvel🥶.
Man you are awesome, the way you wrote the whole feeling of every Thor fan, Take a bow you writing genius
Which makes it even more irritating how in Avengers 2 he said he'd get The Gems himself yet left it to his kids, though he is the one who physically got them except for the first one
I wouldn’t say Thor came so close because Thanos was weak. I would say it was because he didn’t anticipate Thor coming there and knew nothing about Stormbreaker. He was taken by surprise. If he’d anticipated it, he would’ve just teleported out of the way and attacked Thor. Thanos is often defeated in situations where he’s taken by surprise. In Endgame, he didn’t know Scarlet Witch or Captain Marvel because the Sokovia incident hadn’t happened. Thus, he was unprepared for both. He lost mainly because it was Tony and not Captain America. Till that time, he’d always pegged Tony as the sort of guy who would never make the sacrifice play. If Steve or even Thor had tried it, he would’ve been prepared. Leaving aside Tony’s power to assimilate the stones into his body via the gauntlet, the reason it surprised him was that it went against everything he thought he knew of Tony. Thanos was a great villain because he could only be defeated by things he didn’t anticipate and prepare for. It’s not easy finding and exploiting an opening with this guy. It also shows Tony’s growth and evolution as a character. In the first Iron Man movie, he was a self-obsessed playboy who became a superhero mainly out of guilt for contributing to the death of innocents. By Endgame, he’d foreseen the future that came about, made the Ultron mistake, fought one of his closest friends in order to avenge his parents, and seen some of his comrades become dust. But he was also able to experience love, marriage and fatherhood. Thus, his actions in the end weren’t out of guilt or despair. It was to ensure that those he leaves behind, including his daughter, had a better future. This evolution of Tony Stark could only have been brought about after the snap and this was necessary to ensure victory against Thanos. It’s quite an intricate storyline.
In Endgame if Thor wasn’t fat nor weak he’d take Thanos by himself very easily also why didn’t Thor just cut off Thanos arm stopping him from using the stones then give his revenge speech
@TeddyRenson47 So you’re saying Thor is that much stronger than Captain America, Iron Man and Captain Marvel, all of whom duked it out against Thanos and lost? Also, see the scene. Thor hit him with lightning before he threw Stormbreaker. The only reason it worked was because Thor had the element of surprise. Also, like I said, it’s not easy to just aim for the arm. Your fundamental assumption in all this is that Thanos is weak and the Avengers weren’t trying hard enough. This isn’t true. Thanos in Infinity Wars knew the powers and limits of each avenger. Thanos in Endgame was younger, had gaps in his knowledge but was just as strong. Point is, Thor had the ability and the best chance but he was too blinded by rage to go for the kill. But this doesn’t mean he would get the same chance twice if Thanos was healthy. If Thanos knew about Stormbreaker, he would just teleport out of Thor’s way. If it comes to physical combat, Thanos has managed to subdue Thor before and was able to take 3 of the strongest Avengers on all by himself without any stones and prevail. He’s not an opponent you can ever underestimate.
0:22 the sound that stormbreaker makes when it takes on the infinity stones is so satisfying
So powerful it literally cuts through the ray
I still love the fade out with the snap and Thor yelling "No!"
1:10
Yeah but its also stupid because Thor shouldn't have let Thanos talk lmao
@@gregdrake5069 Very common mistake with heroes and villains alike, ego. They always want them to know they beat them. He wanted to watch Thanos die. I think he thought an axe to the chest at full force/speed would do the trick.

The all-time best scene in the MCU. Thor is incredible, and Thanos feels the pain, and even slightly the guilt, of what he has done.
Thanos’ experience as a strategist was a real big contribution to his victory in Infinity War. He had conquered countless worlds throughout his life. He manipulated powerful and intelligent beings like Loki and Ronan the Accuser to do his bidding. Even Loki would later realize that Thanos had used him as a pawn many years later. He deceived Tony, Bruce and Fury into believing that it was only Loki who was responsible for the Battle of New York and he didn’t have any outside aid. He managed to avoid Doctor Strange’s list of otherworldly threats. Thanos waited a long time to locate all the stones before making his move, and waited for the heroes to lower their defenses and eliminate any threat to his own campaign. For example, Thanos probably waited for Odin to die and the Asgardians to be weakened before making his move for the Space Stone. He practically planned out the order in which he would obtain the stones. Thanos, along with Zemo, is the only other strategist to have defeated the MCU Avengers. That is until Kang shows up in Kang Dynasty. Plus Doctor Doom whenever he shows up.
Plus as a side note, Thanos’ empathy and respect for his enemies also paved the way for him to defeat the heroes in Infinity War.
Literally all we needed was this Thor in endgame and we all would’ve been okay
Thor was way too op to the point where director has to make him obese and drunk to make End game more dramatic. Lol

This Thor but with longer hair and beard
I don't buy the fact that among the 14 millions of possibilities that Strange watched, there wasn't any one where Thor went for the head... 🤣
True but then how would Strange and the gang have influenced that outcome? It's not enough that Thor going for the head *could* happen if there's no way to ensure that it does actually happen
Maybe there was more to be watched, but Tony stopped the process
ah good point
Dont forget the Emergence
strange looked for a reality where they won for the long run. for example, if star lord wouldnt destroy everything on titan, they would win thanos but after that star lord wanted to use the gauntlet to bring gamora back, and more heroes wanted it for their reasons, and heroes that wanted to return the stones to its place without using it, which cause to war and to lots of destraction. So they won thanos but lost in the long run, so you cant know what would happened if thor went for the head, they would win thanos but probably lose later. The only way to win in the 14,000,605 realities, was to let go and then come back after 5 years, just like the ancient one told dr. strange that he need to let go to the river and use its power as your own (something like that)
Since NO ONE has mentioned it: that sound effect of Stormbreaker slicing through the gauntlet's beam is the best S.E. in all the MCU!

Endgame was a masterpiece
Only one superhero who was totally unbeatable on final battle in infinity war.
The issue of paying respect before Killing a mighty man by talking to them, failed Thor to save the universe.
I wouldn’t say respect I’d say more of thors vengeance getting the best of him “I told you, you’d die for that”
When people downplay Thor, just remember he overpowered a Universes worth of might. He threw Stormbreaker hard enough to literally overwhelm the essential vitamins and nutrients to create and control A UNIVERSE. He is casually a universal threat.
Nah, it's just the stones energy blast. besides Thanos was caught off guard. Thanos didn't use its full power either. Stormbreaker was built to went up against the gauntlet. I don't really see the impressiveness of that scene.
@@justinepanis9349 Could anyone else have done it?
@@blacktalon1607 he couldn't have done it, if it was an actual fight. Stormbreaker wouldn't have been forged, if it wasn't for Eitri. Thor was probably dead if it wasn't for Groot and Stormbreaker. The point here is, Thor's raw strength/power is nothing compared to Thanos so Thor needed weapon (an amp) to went up against him. It wasn't as impressive as what every Thor stans say
@Justine Panis you're looking at it wrongly. There is a trend of sacrifice in Marvel. Odin sacrificed his eye for power and wisdom. Cap sacrificed his love and his life for peace and love. Tony sacrificed it all to defeat Thanos. Banner sacrificed his rage for enlightenment, Natasha sacrificed herself for her friend. Thor, groot, and Eitris people all gave themselves for this weapon, something to amplify his power to new heights and help him become ever more powerful. Thor has always been the most powerful thing in the MCU, just because him and his friends gave their all to defeat a literal universe erasing tool doesn't mean he's not powerful. And he may have "caught Thanos off guard," but those beams are still planet rending, reality breaking, time stopping/rewriting, space breaking, soul stopping beams that Thor+Stormbreaker overpowered together. In many ways this is more Stormbreakers scene than Thors, which a lot of people also don't look at. The weapon is alive. In the same way Infinity War was Thanos's movie, that scene was for Stormbreaker and its wielder Thor, the mightiest duo around.
@@blacktalon1607 nah it doesn't have any feats that could back up your claim that its energy blast could be planetary. Those you've mentioned are just excuses lol. we are talking about 1v1 here. Endgame proves that Thanos slams Thor in an actual fight to think that he has the 2 strongest weapon and was confirmed that Endgame Thor was his strongest that time while Thanos doesn't have the stones in that scene. Stormbreaker was built to counter the gauntlet. Thor is just overrated.
Thanos: You should've gone for the head
Thor: *Pulls out the axe and hits the head*
Thor didn't need to go for the head. He just didn't need to chill with Thanos after striking him and letting him snap the gauntlet lmao. Why does nobody else criticize him for this. Thor is entirely at fault because he was too stupid to just finish Thanos when he had like 2 minutes to do so
Extractly just what I thought i always thought why nobody says anything about it, thor had time to kill thanos after he snapped the gauntlet but thor just let him teleport away. Or instead of yelling noooo when thanos was about to snap he could have used his lightning to stop him, stormbreaker was literally in thanos chest and thor even had his hands on stormbreaker he could have channeled his lightning into stormbreaker to hurt or stop thanos from snapping his finger. Another thing I also thought was when pushing stormbreaker into thanos body he could have infused it with lightning to inflict more damage inside thanos body. Why nobody thinks of this.
@@jaabirahamed783 I think because thor wasn't aware thanos collected all the 6 stones! He said to gamora no one knows where the soul stone is, so maybe he took it for granted + he wanted thanos to know it was thor who killed him, he wanted to make him struggle and ask for mercy, but when thanos went for the snap, thor took some time understanding the situation, whereas thanos took those couple of seconds and snapped

He just arrived from the frontline without knowing anything so it's not his fault although he blames himself for it.

don't know if it's already been said, but I think why Thor didn't went for the head is because he didn't knew Thanos has the soul stone too!
He said to Gamora "Know one knows where the soul stone is!". Little did he knew before attacking thanos that he has all the 6 stones. He wanted Thanos to know that Thor killed him and took the revenge, to make him struggle and ask for mercy!
After Thor said to Thanos he would die for what he did on the Statesman, He should’ve immediately withdrew Stormbreaker while Thanos was reeling from his wound, then what should Thor have done?
A) Decapitate him and end the threat once and for all
B) Use the axe to bludgeon him repatedly
C) Amputate his left arm so he can't use the gauntlet
D) Just shock him to death with lightning.
