    • @CasualVideoGamer
      @CasualVideoGamer 2 года назад +95

      The whole "aim for the head" thing affected Thor so much that even during the final battle, every time he took a swing at Thanos, it was always at head level.

    • @kenknight1985
      @kenknight1985 2 года назад +8

      Wouldn’t it have just been easier to simply get the time stone from the past and then allow Thor to go back on time to aim for the head?

    • @CasualVideoGamer
      @CasualVideoGamer 2 года назад +12

      @@kenknight1985 A few issues with that. The first is that messing with time has major consequences. It's risky enough to turn time back mere moments, but in order to do such and prevent Thanos from winning in Infinity War, it'd be a handful of years. This would have also erased Tony Stark's newfound family without certain promise that he'd be able to have a family if this happened.
      The reason being that if Tony returned to Earth and found out Thanos was beaten, he wouldn't have been so enraged that he'd leave the hero life entirely - thus the opportunity to sit and have the family wouldn't have been there.
      The second thing is that Thor wasn't in the best mindset. He was a man seeking to redeem himself and self-destructed in the process (or moreso, fit him more closely to the actual Thor of Norse mythos). Dr. Strange and Thanos both were able to keep their heads on their shoulders when using the stone to prevent any possible screw ups, there's no way to know that Thor would be able to do the same while rewinding time 5 years.

    The nothing but a temptation line is interesting because it implies that Thanos had sometimes wavered between thinking he was right and wrong about his plan. So instead of giving in to his weakness he instead destroyed the stones.

    I think about this scene all the time...them working together to pin him down, his weak but satisfied look knowing he succeeded, Nebula vouching for his truthfulness and her looking away when he shows a shred of kindness, Thor immediately decapitating him upon realizing he is of no use anymore (and getting revenge for all he lost), Nebula closing his eyes, and the music swelling as Thor walks away. Such a raw scene, wish I could rewind time and see Endgame in the theater for the first time again.

    Thor randomly lobbing his head off caught me so off guard in the theatre. As a movie buff I think this moment and how infinity war ended were done perfectly because it made the entirety of the plot from then on unpredictable. I was just sat there, mouth open like.... 😳Uhhhh???? It was so... Definitive. Thor ended the conversation AND my theories for the plot with a PERIOD. In the moment I felt like it was anticlimactic, but looking back I realize what this achieved for the movie as a whole.
