LOVE the bloopers at the end! Hilarious! 😁 I might make this with my 4 ply baby yarn for a baby blanket, but will need to make the circles smaller, so I'll adjust what you do for turning the circles into squares. It should turn out fine...... I hope!! I've thought of making one of these many times, but never got around to it! Another thing to add to my list of wanna crochet next!! ❤️

I thought I remembered something I'd seen on the Crochet Crowd channel where Mikey had worked out the math on how to turn a crocheted circle into a square, and I just found the video again tonight ("How to Make Crochet Circles into Crochet Squares"; the description box should have a link to his worksheet). I actually don't mind the pointy bits on the circles on your original polka-dot afghan, as I'm used to joining squares into an afghan after completion (I've never done a "join as you go" afghan yet). But of course whichever way you present the pattern and assembly will be fine.

Sooo I really wanted to make a polka dot blanket and thought my daughter would love it as a gift. I would like the yardage for one of your skeins just in case I change the thickness of my yarn. If you only have it in the metric form that's ok also

Hi, Antoinette Canady! I am using local Kenyan acrylic. No official color names - just the ones that I use in the Yarnery. Any yarn with a size 4 thickness will do. I am using a 6.0mm hook.
I came back to this video. I've been searching for yarn to buy online. I don't know how. Too many specs. Could you tell me what type of yarn is the colored yarn and what type is the grey? Will it help me to know which brand? I did listen to you, but I've never bought it online. Not so many skeins at once either.

Hi Krista, I feel like Red Heart Super Saver is a scratchy stiff yarn. How would it work out with Red Heart Super Saver Soft yarn? Or it might just be called Red Heart Soft... I can't remember. But could we substitute the super saver with the Red Heart soft? BTW, LOVE the pretty bright colors you picked for the polka dots😊❣️
Hi Jamie! To be honest - I have never touched Red heart Super Saver. So use ANYTHING you like that is a 4 thickness. ;)
Krista, how many yards is it total? I really love this blanket but need to know the yardage. 6 different colors for the circles and 1 color to turn circles into squares and then joining. PLEASE let me know the yardage.

Hello...I am way behind I know but I am just getting ready to order yarn for this blanket and the yarn link that you listed says DK #3 , light...? 100% cotton is that also correct?..I thought this was a 4 wt. Yarn project...Is that link correct? And is it a #4 or DK weight yarn? Last question is the background color you used...Which one was it...It's a unique color looks like a grey but I am wondering if it's what is called Maroon on the ICE link you have listed
Hi Stacy! I used Kenyan acrylic for my blanket - which is not available online. I would suggest using Ice Yarn Favorite, or Ice Yarn Super 100 in any colors that grab you! xx

Hmmm mine might end up with 25 squares as I am using lion brand woolspun which is a 5 weight ...and will have to to them all scrappy unless I find a good deal on some more to make them into squares I want to use up all this yarn as I only paid 1$ a skein ...man what a great great deal that was on the website ...hating I didn't order more .....sadness ..
