I’ve had the same problem with missing hookups with the Zman Bulletz jigs, and seen others with the same experience. Why that would be vs a similar size Texas rig isn’t clear to me.

Great video. Are the spots native to this river? I know they are considered invasive in some smallmouth waters.

They’re not invasive. I catch one every now and then. Predominantly Smallmouth where I fish. They’re not very big either when I catch one.

This video was around the same time I went up the Guyandotte from Huntington to almost Barboursville. We didn’t catch a darn thing. Now I know where all the fish went. They went south to visit Frank!!😂😂😂😂

Hey Frank, new subscriber here and a WV native as well from northern part of the state. Is public access an issue on the rivers you fish? I’d be concerned about finding a place to park mor3 than anything. What’s your personal best smallmouth? Most of what I’ve caught are 12 inches or less, but still loads of fun. I caught an 18 inch and probably 3 pounds more or less, but it felt much bigger while bringing it in.

@@StanDavis-c7y access is not a problem for me. as far as weight, my personal best is 5 lbs. 1 oz. two years ago. Last year I caught one 4 lbs. 15 oz. last spring. both 20+ inches. already caught two trophies this year 4 pounds even, and one 3 lbs. 15 oz. Check out my videos and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it.
