I'd do the same thing. Now personally, I would consider adding a transom trolling motor for all the awesome things you mentioned about the PA14. Not gonna lie, I love all those things once I saw them up close and personal. Looking forward to the new journey.
Bummer. I have the PA14 with the 180 Drive. So far, no issues. I was going to get the 360 but each time I looked at one there was a stack of 360 drives at the dealer waiting for repair. I loved the layout of the PA14 and decided to go with the 180, glad I did. If you went to Sun Valley Sports in Indy, please reach out to me and will share my experiences with them. Not to much of it positive since their move.
I like my 2021 hobie pro angler 14 360. I already put too much time and money in to it. So far no problem with it. Instead of buying another kayak. I'm just going to put a motorguide xi3 to it, so I don't have to use the 360 drive.
I did a bunch of research when I was getting into fishing and decided to go with the Old Town Sportsman PDL 106 Kayak. That thing was stable, rugged, and reliable. Ended up passing it on for a bigger boat but I miss it now.
Sorry you guys have had so much trouble, but thanks for sharing your experience to save that trouble for the rest of us... Very much appreciated, and great to see.
You are going in the right direction OldTown is the absolute best. Warranty is the best. Hobie has been sold. It's not even the same company. Dump em. I have a 120 auto pilot. The replaced the trolling motor within 5 days and it was 6 months out of warranty. Why not an OldTown. None better for reliability or warranty. End of story.
My buddy use to swear by Hobie, until it started falling apart before my Walmart pelican. I toss mine into all types of questionable situations and it's been great for me.
Crescent just announced the Primo for $699. I imagine a blackpackpro with rod holders would swiftly transform that rec into a good fisher. Saves enough money to buy one of those 20 ounce paddles.
I'm a Hobie, but I have to admit, Hobie reminds me of Harley Davidson. They have zero support for the people who are competing and using their shit. They've gotten too big!
Made the same decision a couple months ago. Went through 3 drives (one in 20 feet of water during a tournament) and it doesn’t do well with a bow mounted motor taking in gallons of water. I wanted reliability. I’m mostly done rigging out my Old Town Autopilot 136. I love this thing. Enjoy Old Town guys!
Not great that you had to go through all of that but I appreciate your open/ honest feedback. It really helps those of us without a platform like yours to make issues like this known ...
Hey old town pdl 110 is the best invest ment I’ve made I got a gamin 9sv sidescan-downscan it never fails to put me on the fish. The drive is the bulletproof because of the simplistic design. I will stand by the reliability.
Jackson Knarr has been my golden goose! I will say, a good prop drive is fucking sweet, apart from weeds. Hobie was bought by investors who have no reason being into kayaks other than profit, and have run down the business. Hobie is refusing fair warranty claims which is really bad news, fantastic products when they work, but you need to have a local dealer to help you if ANYTHING happens. New factory is in Mexico as well. I’ll be saving up for the BlueSky 360 angler in the future.
We have Old Towns. I bought an AP120 and 18 months later we got a 120 pdl for my husband who doesn’t fish much. I love fishing in my AP but it’s a beast to load and unload. My dream kayak under 60 pounds, stable and a pedal.
Seems y’all thought the new purchases through diligently, so it must be a great choice. I’m a fan of Old Town. Solid products. I dumped my Kaku a week after I came home from Alabama.
I just picked up a brand new old town 106 for 1500. Came with everything! Fish finder and everything. Got it from an older man who was a kayak fisherman. He gave me everything! I literally have 4k worth of gear for 1500. Blessed. But... I live in Colorado. So I have to wait until march to use it😂
Thanks Guys never trusted the 360 too many things to go wrong. Ive got the outback with the 180 and think its very reliable. Good luck with your new brand.
I'm fortunate since I got into kayaking through a place that only rents out old towns. When I decided to look into other options there was something off w/ all of them...the slayer was the next best but even that seemed more expensive and less stable...plus once I decided I wanted a fish finder I was able to install the helix 5 sonar into mine easily w/ no drilling. The one time I needed to call them was my own fault and the propeller (I have a pedal kayak) needed a part replaced. They sent it out quickly for a few bucks. TLDR can't recommend old town kayaks enough...plus the pedal drive is awesome and easy to go backwards or pull up to clear out grass...can't say I'd consider going w/ another brand at this point...also I can't imagine fishing w/ out a pedal kayak lol...CHEERS :)
I totally get the peddle drive/trolling motor crazy but relying solely on my arms to get me from A-B is what I love about paddling. Nothing is going to break and I have zero maintenance. I get that not everybody has this ability and anything that assists with getting folks on the water is awesome...to each their own.
I agree. I did a heck of a lot of research. I'm surprised Hobie hasn't fixed the 360. I'm in my 60's so kayak weight is an issue. I'll skip the motors and drives. A kayak paddle works great for me. I did get a lightweight Werner graphite paddle. For me, the absolute best kayaks are from Crescent, 100% USA. The hull design, tracking, ease of paddling are the best. My wife has the UltraLite and I have the LiteTackle. Read up and RUclips the Crescent kayak company. EDIT.. I forgot to add, I fish for largemouth bass here in the south. All catch & release.
I too use my arms..yes it’s a little inconvenient trying to sit on a piling or structure in current but folks have been paddling for thousands of years with no issue.
@@Pays2Win Totally agree. At times I wish I had hands-free fishing when I'm in current, it's defiantly a great option, gotta pick a kayak that works for you and how you fish.
Hobie has frustrated me this year. I’ve done millions of views for them and never asked for anything. I’ve supported their dealer events and made filmed free content the’ve use for ads and still I never asked for anything. I personally spent $15,000+ on Hobie kayaks in last few years. I finally asked Hobie for a newer 180 kick up drive so I could continue creating content and show off a cool new Hobie fishing setup no one has seen in the world. Since July I’ve gone back and forth with their rep and they claim they are sending but then they don’t. I reach out again to them and no response. Yet they will give entire boats to their pro staff who I guarantee haven’t driven near as many sales. I have driven $200,000+ in sales in two week periods for kayak companies and companies selling fishing products. If Hobie treats me this way I can’t image a basic customer getting any customer service. I try to stay non-bias and show all brands. I use what I use.
So I recently got into kayaks last yr. Picked up a cheap lifetime yukon. Well my rabbit hole got long. Now it's got a trolling motor at the rear. Foot steering, motor lift, huge batterie, multiple rod holders, lights, fish finder and all the little tricks like the finder is at the bow with a sun shade.
Have had my predator pdl 6 years has been bullet proof. Also liked it enough I bought a 10 6 pdl for my wife. I live in fla fish year round. Hook a fish under a dock reverse and pull them out.
8 years ago when I bought my Native Watercraft Slayer Propel 10 it was the only pedal drive with reverse. I am still happy with it and haven't had any problems. I am glad that yall are going with kayaks that will suit your needs, I hope they work out for you!
@@mikeschulz5070 They are heavy when loaded out so just be sure you can handle that, especially the loading and unloading. I was torn between the Max 10 and Titan 10 but very happy I chose the former. I still PREFER the Titan but it would be a little too much for me, especially since I don't have a trailer. (i slide it in the hatch of my Subi Outback)
I’ve got two old towns. Both 12 ft one with peddle drive and one paddle model. They are both awesome. No issues at all and o fish a lot I’m in ca so we fish all year. Old town is the best bang for the buck imo.
Thanks for this video. I have been wanting to get a pedal kayak, but have been holding off. I have been on the fence for awhile trying to decide which brand to get. I almost purchased a Hobie 360 Pro Angler based on how excited you guy were when you first purchased your Hobie 360 Pro Angler. I have been considering Hobie 360 Pro Angler, Old Town Sportsman PDL, or a Bonafide Kayak. Thank you for sharing your experience and issues with the Hobie 360 Pro Angler.
Great decision, I have the PDL 120 and just recently got the ePDL 132 and love it. Full day trolling at 1.7 MPH and still have a ful battery at the ens of day.
Making my son watch this. He hasn’t believed me when I told him of your hobie issues… but mom I want one… yah no.. talk to Jeff or Paul. Bummed for y’all’s issues…. And glad y’all survived G’ville!!! Thanks guys for the honesty.
I def agree with you guys. Ive been lucky so far with my 360. The belt has only broke once and took 2 months to get. I actually got another one off of amazon before Hobie sent one out. The problem I have is that when the 360 is working there's no other kayak that performs like it. I fish shallow rivers and always hit logs or rocks, so the prop drives worry me. I still have one more season under warranty and will prolly sell it. I may either just get another one or move on to another brand.
I just went with the Old Town 120PDL after watching many videos. Look forward to getting it soon and getting it out on the water in spring next year. Thanks for being honest on your channel, hard to find content that is not influenced by the manufacturers.
Yep. I had the same drama with 3waters kayak Big Fish 108. Hull fracture in 2 months of ownership around the pedal drive. They didn't want to honor their own warranty until I threatened law suit. I'm very happy with my VanHucks Shad & my Slayer Max
Thank you so much for posting this video. We need more videos like this. It seems like every industry these days just keep making cuts in quality and selling customers inferior products with no hesitation to put more money in their pockets. As a consumer I try to shine light on all the garbage that's being put out while at the same time praising companies that make great quality products. Also praising companies that stand by their products and offer long or lifetime warranty. Nothing worse then investing hundreds, even thousands into products and have them break right after the one or two year warranty is up. We as the consumers can't let them get away with it and need to expose the industries more often.
Great video. I like the value oriented content of your videos. I might be able to afford the high end equipment but I don’t want to. I want something that will work well and for a long time. Thanks for the video and looking forward to the new year and what you have in store for the channel.
A great time and a good rant always does the soul some good! I started watching you guys for the sheer honesty and unbiased reviews that your content has provided! Best fishing bros on the platforms across the board... Thanks @aaanglers
Can’t speak for the 360’s. Love my Lynx, got it for the light weight. Does great on my local rivers and the 180 drive has been rock solid. My 2015 outback is still going strong and that works great as my off shore rig. It doesn’t see as much action these days as the Lynx fits a lot of roles. Been looking at their inflatables for river use as they fit light weight bring less role. I think that Hobie relies on their past and name a bit too much. Do your research and get the yak that works for you and what waters you fish. For me, I love the 180 drive and lightweight of the lynx. Did I pay for it? Oh yeah. But it works for me. That 360 drive seems like a nightmare, waaay too many problems in a short amount of time.
I have an Old Town Sportsman PDL 106, a Crescent OG Lite Tackle, and a Shoalie. I love all of them. They all serve different needs. The Old Town is a fishing machine right out of the box. Add a front rod holder and you are good to go. I had the OG Lite Tackle first, and I thought I might sell it when I got the Shoalie, but I can't bring myself to part with it. It's good to have a buddy boat anyway.
I went from OldTown to Hobie and won’t go back. The ability to put a motor on the back of the Hobie is 10X easier than trying to add a motor to the BigWater. Cruising around in my PA14 180 drive with the NK180 is so much fun! Good luck to you guys!
@@aaanglerstotally get it! I loved my old town just wanted to add a motor after my local trail started allowing them in tourneys. When I started asking around about the Hobie the 180 drive seemed more reliable
I have used Oldtown for tournament fishing since 2019 and have never been disappointed. They are very reliable and the drive system can be repaired for most things on the fly.
Thanks Guys for the honest opinion I agree with issues on the 360 yet I personally have a PA 12 180 and it’s running with minimal issues in comparison to this. Let us see how will the OT go. I am curious to see how will you arrange the space there as the PAs are like a floating Villa in-spite of all the issues. Keep up the good work 👍
I have the original lite tackle and love tha versatility. Add motor or not. High seat, medium or low. Paddles like a dream. Got mine at music city outdoors great people.
Great Video. I'm a Crescent guy myself. I don't own a Old Town but they are at the top of my list for my first pedal drive. I've heard of some issues with the 360 drives myself and opted out of them and have considered the Lightning kayak line possibly.
Also like to mention that by law there should be a safety recall on this as people could be placed into danger situations on the water if they can't maneuver their kayak. I get that you should have a paddle in case of emergency but some people aren't strong paddlers or all their energy is spent from fishing all day that they don't have the energy to paddle, especially in high winds or long distance. Clearly it's a defect on the product as it's becoming a common issue.
I couldn’t talk myself into getting a new Hobie PA I just kept coming back to the fact I could get a 2 year old Outback FULLY loaded at half price. Also the fact that any gen drive will work if the md180 fails…apart from the 360 of course 🤷♂️
Awesome video guys! I love my Oldtown. You guys should try to do a tour of Oldtowns facilities and come do some fishing with some of us Northern Nerds here in Maine. Cant wait to see what this next season holds for you both, the yaks, and the channel!
Since I started watching you guys I've always appreciated the fact that you put everything into value. I'm sorry to hear about your hobies it was one that I was looking into however now I know longer him. I've been really liking the Crescent Shirley and is one I'm going to look further into I really appreciate you guys again for your honest opinion and truthfulness behind the scenes with what's going on with your guys's kayaks
Do you guys fish in alot of shallow grassy areas? My main lake is all grass and 3-4 feet of water in a big part of the lake I fish. I feel like the Hobie's drive would actually be useable in that lake and the peddle drives in the old town or Native's would have to be stowed away. Thoughts?
6 years ago i tried my buddies kayak and i snap the cabled on the reverse and bought him an new one and few weeks later got it fix and i try the hobie again and snap the other one .... the quality has never been there thats why i can never buy an hobie
I took one look at the complexity and the over-engineering that typically goes into the drive and said "oh hell no". The slam dunk for me was the the "rail system" again gear track is so simple and so easy to work with why would I want to start with a 35.00 clamp for every accessory to use the rail? So ya natives drive is very solid and simple. You can buy all the parts directly from Native and fix everything your self. Easy decision.
Got a used ascend 12t which ig is cheap compared to the old town. Got plenty of storage space and comfortable seat. Made my own pedal steering system and mounted up a 10+ hp electric motor. It rips and cost less than 2k for the whole setup. Couldn’t be happier. Hello from west Michigan btw
I had an older pro angler and it was my least favorite kayak. I only had the mirage v2 drive so no 180, the steering sucked, it didnt track well (even with the skeg), and the thing was just entirely too big. I took it to one of my usual spots in the Chesapeake Bay on a decent day and the pedal back was just awful, the kayak sits too high in the water so wind and chop made it more difficult than it needs to be. That trip is usually an hour out and an hour back, it took me over 3 hours to get back. I got rid of it after that. I think its a good idea to try other brands, I dont know about newer hobies but i know several guys who have had a bunch of problems with their 360s as well as the 180.
I am look forward to getting a kayak but I am just looking for paddle kayak and thinking hard on the nucanoe unlimited I like the old Town kayaks they are just out of my price range thank you guys for information theirs probably a lot of people don't know any of the things
Preach it bruthas! I'm tired of hearing YT'ers that 'pedal' their b.s. of 3k yaks being budget or accepting of short life expectancy. Walmart bicycles last longer. Old Town and Native are probably my only trusted brands for pedal.
I think the kayak decision is a bunch of factors. For me was the best kayak for the body of water I fish, I am older and be able to lift. If you have or not have fishing skills a basic kayak will do the job
I personally would have a hard time getting rid of my PA but I also am using a mirage drive and not had anything close to the experience you guys have had. That being said, I would say that the Old Town Sportsman series for a peddle drive or a Crescent Shoalie for paddle only would be my next choice.
I was all set to buy myself a PA14 and I was aware of drive (with both drives) and hull problems, but it really hit how bad it is when I ended up in another kayak shop and they told me that they were backlogged with hull replacements from the few Pro Anglers that they sold and mentioned they didn't even plan to stock them in the future. To put this in perspective, they only ever stocked one at a time and each one probably sat in the showroom for a few months as well. Add that with all the horror stories with Hobie not honoring the warranty and that turned me off. However, my final decision wasn't made by the issues from the Pro Angler, but it was made when I demo'd the Old Town Bigwater 132 PDL - it was easily the fastest kayak that I demo'd so while I don't have the setup of a PA14, I get place to place faster and it's a lot more fun to pedal. Being old and out of shape, I can pedal it 4mph for miles, and I bet once I start getting out regularly that might increase to 5.
I have a 2019 predator and it's a beast. I fish off a 136 autopilot right now and i still miss my predator sometimes because of the instant reverse. I was going to buy the 360 PA im so glad i didn't. I Think if i was goiong to buy a kayak right now it would be the ePDL bigwater. The safety of having a pedal drive as a back up would be too much for me to pass up even though i've never gotten even to 50% of a 100ah battery in a full day of fishing.
Enjoyed your observations and thanks for sharing . I have stayed with My 2012 NWC Manta ray 14 for simple reliability and the true kayak minimalist approach. Bonjour de Louisiane amis partout !
Interesting info guys. Even though I'm a Stealth kayak fisherman, most of my fishing buddies are on Hobies and some of these issues are playing out over here in Okinawa. Anyway, the main reason for my comment is: Paul's vest- it looks great - what make is it? Cheers and tight lines on your new yaks.
When I stopped by my local paddle shop a couple weeks ago, they stated that word is Hobie has maybe 2 years until they are bankrupt. They also lost some of their dealer networks due to hobie attempting to strongarm them into exclusivity allegedly.
Just subscribed and so glad I ran into this channel. Plan on purchasing my first fishing kayak come Spring. Any recommendations for an ocean kayak? Retired and thought a sailing kayak would be great for deep water or ocean fishing. Also thought it might be fun for grandkids. Or does anyone have recommendations for a regular one seater kayak that does well with deep water? Will look at past videos as well.
I have run into different kayakers leaving with broken rides. Everything from broken drives, broken steering, broken seats and cracked hulls. For every broken yak there are probably hundreds of others (same mfg) who have not had a problem. I just had my Hobie hull replaced. The shop said they replace 5 or 6 a year and every brand has issues. But the issues are low in there opinion.
I have had great experience with Hobie. But I think a lot of it comes down to your dealer. My dealer is awesome and is right down the road. Not too bad for Kansas!
Great video and I really appreciate your transparency and honesty. Trying to figure out how to fish our river with the Mrs and a 5 yr old and it’s not easy on a budget.
I'm sorry that you guys have had soo much trouble with the Hobie 360. I had been looking at Hobie but it was more than what I wanted to spend. I cannot give enough credit to Bonafide. I have been using my SS107 for the last 3 years and I really enjoy it. It doesn't have the pedal system but I have decked it out pretty well.
It's sad. In my opinion "PRO" should stand for realibality. When I buy pro gear I want it to last. Your so right turning away from that Kayak. Thanks for the video Max
Funny this one came out a week before the no sponsors video. Hats off to you lads. Have you ever looked at the kayaks2fish 11.5 in Australia? I’d be surprised if it was original but the value for money proposition is crazy good. Love to hear your thoughts. Great job boys.
I just got into kayaking. I really wanted one with a pedal drive, but the price was a barrier for me. The reason pice was an issue was I wanted to buy 3 kayaks. I went with ascend fs10 kayaks. Time will tell, but happy so far. For a lot less than a hobie with pedal drive, I bought 3 kayaks for family. I got these for $100 off at bass pro and I am in about $1200 for the 3. No maintenance really with these, just paddle and go
I’ve seen 2 yt vids of so cal guys that had these and the drives broke right in the middle of the video. Interesting. Expensive stuff is not always the best there’s a real balance there
Man I love you guys Wendell the one thing I want you to know is bona fide and native by far is the best company. I’m getting ready to start my own channel and I have a bona fide SS 127 rigged out with a motor but I am getting a native here soon.
Love the honesty I think we've all been there the one thing you're messing is when you get the XI3 with spot lock you will never go back it doesn't matter what it's on that's all you will ever want or need XI3 with spot lock on a bass pro kayak better than anything you'll get grab the a** and try it cheaper better spot lock spot lock spot lock did I say spot lock cause spot lock😅
I’m curious what year were your 360’s? I’ve read a lot of the first-second year boats had these issues but since have been ironed out. The 2024 model even has the belt tension assembly exposed (which I find odd if not a bad decision) but the claim is it improves self serviceability for maintenance/adjustment. I’m leaning more towards a Lynx or possibly a PA14 180 but the dream has been a 360.
Following your lead a bit. I left Jackson and Ecofishing Shop. Switched to an Old Town MK and have made myself an unrestrained free agent for non-biased fishing content for 2024. Heard Hobie made some poor manufacturing choices that have led to this issue everywhere, and it could be a better look for them.
I bought a pa12 180 like 3 years ago before the price boom. Been happy with it since. I took one look at the 360 and said nope... to many moving parts wont last.
lol at least your hobie didn't sink within 5 min first time in the water. , happened to my neighbor. he was so excited getting it. had to use my 500 kyak and my scuba gear to recover it out of the creek . that was 8 months ago and he still hasn't got a penny back. and the dealer refused to take it back. in fact the dealer told him he no longer sells them. he himself is fed up with claims not being taken care of. so my neighbor bought a sun dolphin boss 12 ss like i have. do not use the hobie cart on the pa 14 . but i feel the scupper issue was bad when bought ,,, he pulled it on the cart 40 yds across his yard to the creek. but i can tell you that is where all the water poured out.
Hobie is horrible now. My buddy and I somehow both cracked our kayak after a tournament. Both cracks where under the seat he has a hobie PA I have old town AP 136 I had my replacement kayak within 2 weeks he is still waiting on his. It’s been about 4 months
Thanks for going over a cheaper option/value. I have been wanting to get a kayak in 2024, but don't have a truck. I need to do research on racks, and inflatables as well.
We use my gf's 2010 Honda Accord with 2 inflatable racks bought at cabellas. We have 2 ascend 10t kayaks (intend to get nicer kayaks this year) that we stack one on top of the other and ratchet strap through the car. It's a coupe and still works like a dream. So don't limit yourself due to lack of a truck. If you've got a car, get a couple of inflatable roof racks. They handle a ton of weight and, with proper tie downs, won't move hardly at all.
That's insane pricing. I got a PA12 for $3100 back then and thought "wow this is expensive." But, it wasn't that complicated (before they came out with reverse drive), and nothing broke on me. the worst I ever had was a small leak in the hatch, which was mitigated from adding some more gaskets. All of the stories I'm hearing now has convinced me that there is no more pro angler in my future.
What do you think about our decision?
I'd do the same thing. Now personally, I would consider adding a transom trolling motor for all the awesome things you mentioned about the PA14. Not gonna lie, I love all those things once I saw them up close and personal. Looking forward to the new journey.
I think you guys were more patient and paid alot of $$ and still not happy l, I'm happy your with Ole Town now I hope it's a better experience
Crap
old town 120 pdl here...5 years later still going strong. Old town for the win!

Made the same decision a couple months ago. Went through 3 drives (one in 20 feet of water during a tournament) and it doesn’t do well with a bow mounted motor taking in gallons of water. I wanted reliability.

Exactly! We tried to work with them too… no dice. Oh well, on to better brands!
Thanks!
Love my 2022 Slayer Max 10 and the peddle drive!
I’ve been wanting to pick up a 10.5 titan.
@@HomesteadOnThePreserve I have a ascend 128t right now and it’s a barge. And I’m topping it my wrangler. So I know the feeling.
🙌
I have owned a nucanoe, old town predator and now I have an old town 106 pdl. I could never get past the price tag on the hobie. I love my 106 pdl.
I picked up the limited edition grey ghost Sportsman 120 in May, never been happier.
A great time and a good rant always does the soul some good! I started watching you guys for the sheer honesty and unbiased reviews that your content has provided! Best fishing bros on the platforms across the board... Thanks @aaanglers
Much appreciated!!!
🙌
i have a simple sportsman 120 and have really beat that thing and love it. i now have a xi3, and a lot of gear still does good for what it is.
Spot on with Crescent being a great value. You’ll love those yaks!
That’s the difference though… the 180 drive. Can’t fix a 360
@@aaanglerstotally get it!
I absolutely love my Old Towne Salty PDL. it's quite swift, and very agile. I load it up and stay on water ALL DAY.
I just recently purchased my Oldtown Sportsman 120 PDL , the choice was a no brainer...Stable, instant reverse, 5 year warranty, made in the USA! 🇺🇸
Keep up the good work 👍
The space is unrivaled and I think the 180 drive is probably the way to go for people who fish a lot.
We run those crescents too, they’re great!
Thanks boys. It's great to hear your opinion without wondering if I'm listening to an advertisement. Build it and they will come 😊.
🙌❤️
Thoughts?
We do! We’ve used props and fin drives on our lakes no problem. The fin drives can get just as clogged as props too
Yep, i was done with hobie this year too. Got a Nucanoe Unlimited with a xi3
Dope!
Great option!
Number 1 reason I didn’t buy a hobie. I went native watercraft and have been extremely happy.
6 years ago i tried my buddies kayak and i snap the cabled on the reverse and bought him an new one and few weeks later got it fix and i try the hobie again and snap the other one .... the quality has never been there thats why i can never buy an hobie
Crescent Shoalie all the way! Great all around kayak! Add a Newport NK180 and you have a great river runner and still nice on lakes.
Since I've never owned a Hobie I am not comfortable dissing them, but I do like my Old Town Sportsman 120.
I fish out of PA14 w/mirage drive still all good. Great vid on the 360. Where is my fishing pole?😂
Sheesh. I really wanted a PA14 360. Always a dream kayak. Maybe I’ll hold onto my Outback instead.. I’ve had no issues with it… knock on wood.
I have one and it kicks ass. No more picking up a paddle to make small adjustments on each cast. No more burned out shoulders.
I like wilderness. My buddy has the oldtown pd and wanted to swap, but its preference
Being old and out of shape, I can pedal it 4mph for miles, and I bet once I start getting out regularly that might increase to 5.
great choice!
There ya go!
Hahaha that’s my ol trusty dusty Duluth trading company vest. I can’t kill it.
Unfortunately we are not salt anglers… i see a lot of ocean folks out there in Old Town Sportsmans, Hobie Outbacks, wilderness systems and Vibe kayaks
If you want a hobie with a new drive at a massive discount hit me up on Instagram
Really appreciating my cheaper pelican blitz100x even more after watching this lol. Nice vid:)
It's sad. In my opinion "PRO" should stand for realibality. When I buy pro gear I want it to last. Your so right turning away from that Kayak.
Thanks for the video
Max
Funny this one came out a week before the no sponsors video. Hats off to you lads. Have you ever looked at the kayaks2fish 11.5 in Australia? I’d be surprised if it was original but the value for money proposition is crazy good. Love to hear your thoughts. Great job boys.
Thanks! Haven't heard of that. IF they are exclusive to Australia, then we couldn't try it. First look, it looks like a good basic platform.
@@aaanglers Thanks.
No maintenance really with these, just paddle and go
Good choice to switch. Old town makes great products
I'm looking at a Jackson or Old Town for my next kayak for this reason.
I’ve seen 2 yt vids of so cal guys that had these and the drives broke right in the middle of the video. Interesting. Expensive stuff is not always the best there’s a real balance there
Nice video and good information! I think you guys are making good decisions. Keep up the good work my friends!
2021 year. If you’re interested, reach out on IG
Heck yeah man!
Looove it
3 years with my 106 PDL and it is a beast!
I bought a used Topwater last year. The thing is a tank. I feel like Oldtowns are built simply and ruggedly.
JEEZ!
Bigwater 132 PDL here and I love my kayak no issues
It’s definitely a 360 thing had my 180 for four years and I finally broke a fin on my drive.
That’s awesome!
Hobie is horrible now. My buddy and I somehow both cracked our kayak after a tournament. Both cracks where under the seat he has a hobie PA I have old town AP 136 I had my replacement kayak within 2 weeks he is still waiting on his. It’s been about 4 months
Oof
Ouch
@@Corona2172 Thanks. I have heard of inflatable kayaks but not inflatable rack. I will look into it.
