Got 300 watt boss audio in the front speakers and 250 watts in the back how many watts on my amp should I go with and should I get a different pair of speakers or what do u recommend for a 95 k1500
@bigboyz_world2963 I would suggest at minimum an 800 Watt amp, but realistically, you can run a 1200w amp just fine. I ran a Taramps DS1200w 4 channel amp on them for about 6 months. They did great until I moved the gain just a bit, and they blew. Honestly, after that, i went with different brands. First, I went with PRV 6x9s, and they sounded better than the DS-18's on the same amp, i then switched to the Deaf Bonce Apocalypse. I will note that out of the 3 different 6x9s, the DS-18's handled the bass the worst for a 6x9 speaker. The deaf bonce handled the bass better, so did the PRV's I had. The DS-18s were very good but to be completely honest, coming from someone who's went with multiple brands (skar, Deaf bonce, PRV, DS-18, Black Diamond, which is the same thing as DS-18, its the same company) for 6x9 speakers I would say PRV and Deaf Bonce sounded the best, but Sundown has some of the best subs out there. Skar is actually very good, too, especially on a budget. Hope this helps somewhat.
@bigboyz_world2963 I'll also note that the bass on the Deaf Bonce Apocalypse speakers was puncher and tighter sounding. The PRVs muffled a little at higher volumes. But both of those speakers outperformed the DS-18's in terms of sound quality and how they responded to the bass and high frequencies.
Great video I just replaced my 4 stock speakers with aftermarket speakers they sound better but still distort at higher volume so I think the only solution is an amp🤷🏾♂️
lowkey might wanna look into subwoofers, a lot of the distortion you see is bass, so if you get a subwoofer and aftermarket radio you can set the car speakers to not play bass below a certain frequency and hand the rest of the low end off to a subwoofer that will handle it better
I did just that man before I watched the vid, it works pretty good but I feel like it would sound better if I just directly ran my amp to my door speakers, so you think it would sound any different?
