Oh fuck like that new intro.. 😆😆 looks like a bad ass movie preview 😂
Keep up the good work bro.
@@pantherplatform We would probably get along pretty well! I've owned an 86 Marquis, 87 Town Car, 88 Town Car, 94 Town Car, 98 Town car, 2000 Town Car, and I drive an 09 CVPI now. :)
Please link the ac dye
Hey do you mind if I email you a recording of my 4.6l making engine noise ???
I have a 1999 Ford Crown Vic Police Interceptor and the car overheats whenever I turn the A/C on (I live in the desert so naturally I want it on.) I've replaced the compressor, Accumulator, Condenser, the high and low pressure lines, the Orifice Plug and the cooling fan itself as it would shut off whenever the A/C was turned on and the new A/C compressor clutch would cycle on/off rapidly and will start blowing hot air and then the car will overheat. The only thing I haven't replaced is the evaporator drier. I had the A/C system professionally evacuated and charged when I replaced all these parts so it isn't low refrigerant or too much refrigerant. The car will run all day long in the 100+ degree heat and the new cooling fan comes on like clockwork at 210 degrees according to my OBDII sensor without the A/C on. Any clues as to what is causing the issue?
"Generally pretty reliable" only one of the most solid and reliable cars every created by man. I have seen so many of these with 400k+ miles.
He is a Ford technician. He will know all the issues with the brand he works on. And he, as well as many other technicians will know NO car is 100% bulletproof. At least ONE thing will break or be guaranteed to break some time during the normal life of a car (before 10 years or 100k)
Even a multi billion dollar space shuttle is not perfectly reliable but the crown Vic , town car, marquis are as tough as anything devised by man ( yep, man, I’m not going gender neutral)
Mine is 08 ex nc police with street appearance package at 242000 miles. Mother wrecked it. Took out a rav4 and then into a chevy car oncoming. Total loss. I kept car they gave her 2300 for it so i fixed it by pulling core support back straight and with a 98 front bumper hood, header and steering nuckle along with a 08 gm fender. All silver parts. Only real thing under the hood damaged was battery tray. Didnt hurt rad. But this car had the same ac issue as one in this video.
@@reedvending2384 98 has the same problem too. I just replaced it.
04 crown Vic bad better gearing than the rest. Still faster than the new ones
As a Mercury owner and home mechanic, I just wanted to say that I appreciate both this type of video and the deep dives. Please keep up the good work!
My ‘04 Marauder has been my most reliable vehicle I’ve owned over 35. These ‘Panthers’ are great IMO. 🇨🇦👍🏼
Barry Bebenek
My '03 300 "eh" recently hit 470k kms. A few things are starting to show wear, but still super reliable.
I agree my 2003 Marauder has been trouble free 120000 miles no issues😁👍😎
My 03 Marauder A/C is bad & smokes for a few sec thru tailpipes on start up...
Repair Videos are awesome. Even basic items are great, because one never knows when something "simple" comes along that you're not sure how to handle.
Definitely like the over the shoulder format. It's like having you look at what I'm going through with my vehicle.
I honestly like both type of videos. I always learn something and it's nice to find out what type of cars are having what specific problem and how to fix them. Excellent video thank you.
Northern car for sure look at rust in engine compartment everywhere,Here in the we have mild winters and our cars last forty years!
Was thinking the same just now. My parents have an 06 92,0000 miles and the engine is still pretty clean and has never been washed. But we love in south South Carolina not much snow lol.
Please do more of these videos and the technical stuff too. These are more like what a home (shad-tree) mechanic can do with some simple tools.
I love this style, and the in-depth technical ones too. A mix of both would be awesome :)
Would like to have heard it run with the new pcv. Just to compare the sounds. But love your stuff! Please keep em coming!
I’d love to have that car. Wish they still made cars like that.
Great video, we need these types of videos on 6 to 15 year old vehicles, real world issues, real world approaches, and the fix.
Do a rebuilt on a 4R70W while you're at it.
Thanks Brian!!
Freddy in Arkansas.
I like that, “hanging in the shop with you!” I am a retired mechanic so I can relate to your work, and thought process. I own a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis. Keep it up!
Your vides are awesome, your a good teacher that makes learning these engines repairs much easier.
Whoever put a thumbs down is not right in the head. A year later and it's still helping out people that want to save some money by doing it themselves.
Thank You Ford Tech
Timing couldn't be better, my 03 MGM AC just stopped working. Thanks for the tips, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video, more like this would be appreciated. I've owned several Crown Vics, both Police and Civvie LXs.......Love them. Simple to repair, parts are plentiful, and when maintained, the cars are extremely reliable.
Being a 30 years experienced auto tech, I agree with you. Other than the early models with the all plastic intakes with the coolant runner integrated with the intake at the front, these things are pretty much bullet-proof. The climate control panels can be a bit pricey, and some are discontinued by Ford, but overall cheap to fix. I am no fan of Fords but I give credit when due. These are the ONLY Ford vehicles I would consider owning manufactured after year 2000, all the rest are pure junk, especially the trucks and SUV's.
@@christopherhylton8462
Sir I agree with you. My wife and I have a 2001 Lincoln town car, and it's a great car not much for maintaining and they get great gas mileage. At least I think so driving through some mountains we still got 23 MPG
I could spend all day watching these videos. Keep up the great lessons
Yes please, this type of video. Looking over your shoulder while you do the repairs are my favorites.
Thank you! I learned a few things. I have an '03 Crown Vic, 379k miles on it. An ac issue popped up. I thought a bad relay, but with your help on this vid, I can inspect a few other things as well. 👍
Man, I sure wish I lived near you. I do like these videoes, too.
Love the idea of being about to virtually hang out at the shop while you diagnose/fix Fords. Love the technical videos (no one does them better), and this new format. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the content.
I drive a 20 year old Town Car a brutal environment - your videos have same me thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours! Thanks.
Great video! I like how you mix up the videos between technical and general repairs. Keep up the great work.
Yay! Thank you so much. More Grand Marquis, Crown Vic, Towncar videos please!!
I replaced the accumulator on my step-daughter's 2000 Volvo V70XC last summer. The car is located in the midwest where she goes to college and that accumulator was just absolutely rotted - just like this Grand Marquis. The dye was just oozing out of it. Thankfully the accumulator was easily accessible and I got her AC working 100% again. Thanks for the video, I appreciate that you show it being done the right way and not like a lot of other guys out there simply shoving stop-leak and more refrigerant in there.
Brian, I like both types of videos. You do an excellent job on both. Just keep them coming for us poor Ford fans!!!
I like both types of videos. Ones that are more complicated, and nice to see the basic troubleshooting. Thanks for the vids.
Great video, I think we all appreciate being able to look over your shoulder as you said. Very informative, please do more.
One of the best videos you made Brian, these are great vehicles that give a lot of service
Both these types and the technical videos are greatly appreciated!!!! so yes both for certain!!!
I like the tour, thanks for taking me along.....!
Never had a bad video yet no matter what the repair, keep up the good work Brian!
Love this format!! Problem solving is awesome!!! Thank you for these videos.
Love the ride along style videos. Very informative and step by step. Thanks for all the great info.
Simply put, you don't make bad videos Brian. Par excellence brother!
Just keep doing what you do best
BOTH types of videos are good to see. This latter type may benefit those not so inclined to know much about car repair to identify with same type symptoms/sounds. This way they can either go into diagnosing and fixing an issue, or farming it out to someone they trust to repair it. I recommend you, your shop, and your video channel to anyone I know that drives a Ford vehicle. Your knowledge, experience, and reputation stands head and shoulders above many other repair shops I've dealt with in the past. There are those who insist on the dealership route, and that may work for some, but the thoroughness you demonstrate, and your very fair pricing will keep me coming back to you, and continuing recommendations to others to do the same.
Both types of videos are fantastic. Best tech channel on RUclips.
Both kinds please! I learn from them. They help me decide if I can or can't do a job. They're also good to help figure out what kinds of Fords are good and not. Keep doin' what you're doin' however you're doin' it, and I'll be a-watchin! And thanks for taking the time to do 'em!
Yep, more of these type of videos please. Lot to be learnt from watching others thought and diagnostics processes.
Definitely keep up with these types of videos. Very informative
@FordTechMakuloco
Glad to see you moving towards the direction you had when you worked at the dealership with more general troubleshooting and repair videos.
Useful and Entertaining. I still haven't found a video made by you that made me stop halfway and jump to another "channel". I always walk away with new knowledge, free knowledge.
A/C system. A blast from the not so distant past. Good work.
I like this video, keep them coming. I watch everyone of your videos religiously. You have one of the best car channels on RUclips! I've never owned a GM before, always Ford, but I own a 08 suburban 2500 now and I'm sad that there isn't as good of a channel for GM vehicles. Keep up the good work.
All your videos are great and super helpful I've repaired numerous vehicles by watching your videos
I have been watching for years. I do like the blow by blow videos like this. Love it! Stay Safe
Great video. Just bought an '11 CV, and keen to keep it top notch.
As a former Ford Motor Employee (KCAP) I just wanted to thank you for your Videos. I know what they did to you techs; thank you again for keeping us retires up to date.
What did they do to the techs?
Definitely like the new format. Much like the dealership days which attracted me to your videos to begin with. Keep up the great work.
Great vid as usual sir. I wish you would do more on crown vics and grand marquis. For those of us who love these cars and drives them daily. Keep up the good work. I like the more technical how to vids myself. I reference them often since I have 99 CV and an 06 f150. I do as much wrenching I can and your content has helped me a great deal.
Please keep doing this format of video. I am a big fan of both styles.
Both types of videos are great. Thanks for doing them.
You are the best. We own three fords. We are not Ford people it was by chance that we ended up with all Fords. Your videos are really helpful.
Loved this style of video and you covering Panther Bodies, please keep em' coming!
Brian...you are a great mechanic and a great explainer and your audio and video quality is excellent. I will watch you no matter what you are working on. Any repair, or diagnosis toe whatever is fine with me!!!
Great video! When you show us how to do a repair from the best, that's extremely helpful!
Thx Brian...i like these kind...but I'm hooked... I'll watch them all...you are our ford guru...
I like this video that shows diagnosis of common problems. I would even like videos of older 5.0 L Crown Vics, if there are any still running. Thanks!
Nice job Brian thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for the diagnoses , thats exactly what my issue was on my Crown Vic 👏
My first video of yours I'm impressed.
I bought mine for $3000, one owner, all maintenance records. Already had a new intake manifold installed at the dealer, all new AC system, and had the 1-2 accumulator spring fix in the transmission. Such a solid reliable car.
Don't know about your other videos since this is the first one I have ever watched but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I also enjoy technical videos anything I can do to learn is great so I don't have an opinion you on your other ones but this one was enjoyable being able to watch your diagnostic process, learning how to think through things in my opinion is better than simply learning what to do even though that is obviously just as important
Interesting and informative....I always learn something from your videos.
Just bought a 2008 Crown Vic with 125,000mi The A/C isn't working. Can't wait to get my hands dirty. 😊 These are great videos! Please keep'em coming. 👍
Love all the videos, this one included. Keep up the great work 👍
The camera man gets an A+ this was a very well made video
I like them all. Thank you for your expertise and quality.
Hey if you ever need to replace control head do this before. check for fuel smell in red vac line . fuel and pcv bypass rots orings in control head causing blend door and temp settings to skew. orings are available to reseal controll but you have to be patient and extremely clean. check pcv, and purge valve, replace as needed and good to go
Great vid Brian. Thanks. Just like we're in the shop with you.
Glad you enjoyed it
i like the short vid as much as the longer ones 03 Vic and 10 F150 here big fan of the channel much thanks
I actually enjoy both types of video you do. As I own a 03 Crown Vic P71 this is definitely good to know. Both items. Thank you for the info.
I enjoy all the videos you do keep up the fantastic informative work bro . 👍🏼👍🏼
Just bought an 07 Grand Marq so this was very interesting.
I bought a 07 too literally from a little old lady in AR only had 32k on it. Last eight years she had only driven it 2k. Really like the car!
Nice! I'm looking for 2008 to 2010 right now... but used car prices will be dropping hard this Summer so I'll hopefully find the perfect Grand Marquis to add to my collection of Panthers :)
Yeah I have an 09 merc GM. Winter driving is a little more challenging, but then again I try to avoid driving in snow as much as possible.
Look out for a faulty intake manifold!
donovo Was that on all years? I had an 01 & 03, and I’d love to have one more c 2010-11 Vic or Marquis but that plastic manifold does annoy me. Both mine went out in the low 100k miles range... 🤬’n Ford saving pocket change
Love this sort of diagnostic info
Another well done video. I learned a lot. Like the format, too.
Plain and simple for me to understand thank you
Small price to pay on these cars as they are very reliable otherwise.
they love to eat maintenance parts. The accumulator has desicant built-in to trap any line moisture.
G Lasser well that’s why they’re called maintenance parts.
Ford . Fucker Only Runs Downhill.... In Neutral
Oddly enough, when the transmission finally gave out I think the only 2 perfectly working things on my old Marquis were the engine (of course) and the AC. But only on full blast because the fan resistors were blown 😂😂😂
@@brucemorris3830 how many miles did it last?
I enjoy and learn from both methods on your videos.
I certainly would like to see more of these types of videos as well as the usual ones.
This was very good, I like them all, simple to difficult, great job!!!
great "hang in the shop" style video. I vote to have more of these in addition to your other vids thx.
I really enjoy watching your videos.thank you for sharing.
Great vid, Brian. I’ve always loved these cars. I’m on my second ‘86 Grand Marquis in 23 years. The one I have now I bought in January 2003. We take it off the road every winter. 267,000 miles and still running like a champ! I could never understand why FoMoCo insisted on using steel accumulators. Even GM used aluminum, and that company would kill its own kin save a nickel.
I’ve got a customer with an 03 crown Victoria. In the process of replacing the door hinges on the left front. I don’t usually buy parts from a Ford dealer, so I got mixed up on dealer’s website, and ended up with a rear hinge. I went back and looked over the site, and even after entering “front left” in the search, it put me on the rear door! I wasn’t too happy with them so they’re covering the shipping back. At least that’s what they told me. Now playing the waiting game. I figured I’d save some time buying the entire hinge, rather than a pin and bushing kit. Live and learn on that one! Fun fun!
I think a mix of those videos you mentioned would be great. Enjoyed this one, brother. 👍🍻
I like both kind of videos. Keep up the great work!
I love this video.... I have a p71 so this is helpful finding these things out..... I over filled my a/c and pressure started releasing from some where every once in awhile
Diagnostic videos are great.. Once again Thank you
Like this style of video as well. Keep em coming. Thanks and stay safe.
Excellent,, exceptional and well explained presentation,,,, good job
Love this video... You've saved me thousands FTM! Wish you were alittle closer to NWI so I could bring my CVPI to you for servicing. Thanks again!
Thank you Brain i like all your videos, please stay safe and well
Great video Brian, I like what you’re doing 👍😁
Great video... i have no problems with your video and really straight to the point.
Looks just like my 08 GM. Great video.
An Intake Manifold replacement for a CVPI preferably 2007 would be an awesome mix of general repair and torque spec/sequence tutorial! If you could do it in the next couple of weeks tested be great lol! BEST FORD CHANNEL ON RUclips.
I like these type of videos. very helpful, thanks for sharing
Great job Brian. I like this style video. Good info.
Love both styles of videos! This style I assume makes a bit more content that isn’t so intense to produce on your end too. 👍🏼
Just Figured out how to use the machine! Awesome
