I've been in the fire service for the past 4 years and I've always loved the feeling of screaming down the road lights and sirens. I'm currently away at college and I've missed the rush and the sound of the sirens. your guy's videos given me a feeling of home. keep up the good work and stay safe brothers. Also I love the siren.
Plus your father reminds me of one of our engineers when it comes to the siren. My engineer always yells at the top of his lungs "Shut off the damn Q" when he's trying to listen to the radio.
Probably bcs it's cold...and yeah...when you floor it when everything is cold you are destroying it...:/ feel sorry for machine but someones life is worth more than just a engine or transmission...
Josh Jansen That would be the best way to do it in everyone's eyes however, it's "unsafe" even through it was a closed ramp... Lots of people who regulate this stuff I'm pretty sure don't think about what human drivers can do to your response....
Better put some transmition fluid in that thing. EDIT : If the fluid is all correct have somebody put a corvette servo in it, it will shift boom, boom, right on the money.
Can you on a 4 lane black top if there's any emergency vehicles coming up behind you running code can you pull over in speater in the center turn lanes or not
Try driving a slush box when it's cold and low geared. Then you'll find out where the red line is very quickly..... These are terribly undergeared and lugging some serious weight
Honestly, I love POV Fire Response. I currently live in Hillsborough County, Florida, I want to be a Volunteer or Reserve Fire Fighter, Though i'm not sure if they would allow a Volunteer or Reserve to use Emergency Lighting and Sirens. Maybe just to respond to the Station.
As far as being a reserve firefighter, HCFR does not do any Volunteer or Reserve Firefighter stuff in the sense that you are thinking. So as a Reserve Firefighter you will not respond to the station like a Volly because HCFR is a full time career department. How it works is if someone calls sick at a station then a reserve from somewhere else would go and cover for them. But there is not Volunteer firefighters with HCFR. And because of that there is no POVs with lights and sirens and such. So you would not be allowed to have lights and a siren on your car. And you would never be able to use it if you did have lights. But that only applies to HCFR. I dont know about other departments in more rural areas.
Could somebody get me cought up to one thing? Why are they responding from a house? Not a fire station. I am a bit confused on those parts....Are yopu like a private sort of ....I really dont even know how to ask this if ima be honest.
I believe he is a volunteer fire chief. Most volunteers stay at home until a call comes in and then respond to the station, get the truck and then go to the scene. As a chief he doesn't need a truck so he goes straight to the scene
@@Chris-jv7im all volunteers go personal vehicle if we got one guy or more or if your close to the station the we go pov like me i live 7 miles from my department so a lot of the time i go in my personal but we can't run siren in our personal vehicles only lights
I have always wondered with a volunteer dept are there people assigned to go to the station and get the fire truck? I guess it depends on what type of call you receive. Just wondering if your department has specific people who respond to the scene like you do right off and if there are other people who are responsible for going to get the fire engine?
I know where because I live in the same area as you and drive this highway all the time but why are you able to run red lights and siren? Cause in my co. we can't even run blue light... Is it just a regional thing or?
County regulations and bs. FF are FF no matter if they are volunteer departments. Lights and sirens are basic things. Hate politics I’m emergency services
I have and will run a red light safely to get out of the way and never been ticketed for it. Someone’s life is at stake and I wouldn’t want it on my conscience if emergency crews were held up because of me.
How come your FD is using such old vehicles? A 2006 Chev in 2017? Our Fire Services in Australia that use SUVs for on scene controller units generally get replaced every 4-5 years.
Sounds like a whelen cen com. And trunk drivers always complain about the 4 wheelers, yet that 18 wheeler on the highway didnt even so much as slow down or move and inch over.
Pa turnpike sucks...honestly, that you have to drive that far to help someone is a failure of the highway department. Also...get that cough checked out.
I Have A Question For Quinn Dickinson Idk If you Can See This Comment But If You Can See This Comment Can You Answer My Question What Fire Company Are You Apart of That Allows You To Use Red Lights And Sirens In Your Personal Vehicle And What State Is You Fire Company In That Allows That Because I Live In New Jersey And I An Only Allowed To Have A Dash Light And A Traffic Advisor Or A Light Bar On The Roof But We Have Blue Or Blue And White Emergency Lights And We Arent Allowed To Use Sirens And Im Asking These Questions Because I Am Planing On Moving To Pennsylvania And I Believe Thats Where Your From Idk But If It Is What Companies In Pennsylvania Allows Volunteer Firefighters To use Red Lights And Sirens If You Can Please Message Me Back That Would Be Great Thanks

Back into the garage and save some time getting out.

1st siren: I have an emergency, please move.
2nd siren: You're in my way, MOVE!
3rd siren: GET OUT OF THE ******* WAY A**HOLE!
I love these definitions of wail, welp and priority
Sounds like that automatic transmission was struggling.

It's a 4 speed tall geared slushbox coupled to a 220ish hp engine lugging a 5000lb suv or truck along. It isn't going to be very fast..
Guess people got there drivers license out of a claw machine in your state as well.
traffic in Lancaster is horrid
The Dealer This is the best video of PA drivers not caring
Wow people have no common sense to pull over or move out of the way for EMERGENCY VEHICLES
most people did?
JDS Lawncare & Landscape or blue light move over
Too many people think lights and sirens just mean stop... it actually means get out of the way!
This brings back memories of my days when I was a volunteer fireman. We use to lights in are personal cars too. Keep up the great job
Love this guy's siren work!!! And use of the horn and love how he uses the phasers!!!! Spot on love it!!!!
Why a Colorado of all vehicles sounds like a slow slug?
Sounds like you must drive a Colorado/Canyon
Was it because of the redline and not 2nd gear? Lol. Yeah 2006 Chevy Colorado Z71.
Thank you for what you do, my friend.
I have a question, if it was so close to that overpass. Why did you not just go kamikaze and go down the offramp?
Josh Jansen That would be the best way to do it in everyone's eyes however, it's "unsafe" even through it was a closed ramp... Lots of people who regulate this stuff I'm pretty sure don't think about what human drivers can do to your response....
Cole after you explain it it makes a lot more sense. Thank you!
Would of been safer to hit the wrong way than deal with the traffic.
I remember my days as a Vol. firefighter with the St.Charles Fire Protection Dist. Station 1 [Eng. Co. 501, Rescue Co. 509 & Ladder Co. 506]

Excellent due regard through those intersections.

This department has “fire police” witch respond to the scene to manage traffic control and other stuff. That’s what I understand of it.
In my Dept, everyone goes to the station unless the scene is between you and the station or you're responding late.
what does your POV look like

Don Coleman if it’s a smaller town then they might not have a big enough budget to be able to replace vehicles very often
It is a privately owned vehicle used for Vol. FD to respond if engine already left/was stocked fully
