The injury struggle is REAL for sure. I work with a lot of post op folks in my massage therapy practice. It's actually part of being an active human......injuries WILL happen. It's not fun....am not suggesting it.....however sharing your experiences is the real deal and is helpful to the community as well.
I connected with you right before covid- I had a hip injury that required 6 surgeries. Obviously, you, Brett, JOB, Mason, Beefs, etc. were the saving grace for keeping my head in the game, even if I couldn't get in the water. Just thanks for providing content when sometimes its taken for granted.
The struggle is real for me with mental illness and extreme anxiety and injuries that don’t help any of it. Pain mentally and physically is very real and debilitating.
Nice to see you back. At 59 i struggle to get rides like i used to. Good waves have become really important part of having a satisfying session. But everyday is a blessing no matter how many difficult situations we deal with. The ocean and mother nature provides us with the greatest gift of all. Fun, health ,exercise, mental therapy, and the satisfaction of riding waves. I know guys in their 70s that still do laps in good surf and they have become my inspiration. Alohas and enjoy

Get nerdy about the different models, talk about what conditions they’d work in, sizing recommendations, etc. Or another idea: maybe use old footage to make some surf tutorials and do voiceover (ex: Brett Barley’s barrel riding guide)

I'm glad you're on the mend, you'll be back in the water in no time! I can relate as I have had carpal tunnel relief surgery in both hands. Just got my stitches out last Tuesday... Had my first session in 5 weeks on Thursday. Now all I need is this wind to go offshore and clean up this chop here on the space coast!
