I just play 1 to 3 hours a day, sometimes i go grinding, sometimes i go gathering, sometimes i do cooking, sometimes a little pvp with the guildies. What i have learned from overplaying the game ist simply do different stuff every once in a while. Helped me a lot to have fun with the game 👍
Usually I play the game for a couple of weeks non stop then stop playing for a few months. Rinse and repeat but for some reason this time I've been playing it for like 2-3 months non stop. I'm just not getting bored of it. I grind, gather, hunt, fish etc. So I'm not just doing the same thing all the time. The thing that keeps the game enjoyable for me, is to prioritize fun over making silver, leveling etc. I'd rather do something fun and make little silver over something boring and make a lot.
"The thing that keeps the game enjoyable for me, is to prioritize fun over making silver" truer words have never been spoken. This game is a game after all, it's easy for people to lose sight of that. Thanks for sharing!
My advice is always, do what you enjoy. It is a game. If farming brings you joy, do that. If grinding the max silver/hour, brings you joy, do it. If completing knowledge/quests brings you joy, do it. I think alot of times, we as players get too caught up in maximizing silver/hour, to where BDO feels like a 2nd job, and then the joy is gone. I think too often, we tunnel vision on what is best silver hour, and forget there are a plethora of things to do in game. Also, people dont think long term. People think about today, tomorrow, but rarely do they think about how to set themselves up for success in 3 months, 6 months.
Can't wait to get this new tag system! It'll be so nice to copy my main gear over to one of my other classes just to freshen things up every now and then when fighting. Absolutely agree with the high end zones. It's nice being able to use the entirety of my kit to clear and that threat of death is always good to have. Low end grinding where the mobs are no threat to you is mind numbingly boring. Still getting that empty stomach pit feel when I know I should be at mushrooms getting SP. Gotta love those training dummies.
@@imPansy I made a trial succ valk to play against some buddies one bored night and fell in love. So much so that I actually considered deleting my Hash and starting seasonal over just to get all that SP from completing quests on season server. After they announced the tags though I decided against it. Maybe I'll make her if they do a winter season server. Either way she's going to be my next class for sure.
Nice video. So true. I started playing 2 years ago and after 3 months. I got burned out from badluck, grinding and competion that i stopped playing. I just recently started playing again and i think this video will help me keep moving forward.
It's true what you said about making friends when you're older. It doesn't happen easily, or very often. And sometimes the friendships you do acquire slip away, people move away, or stop having the same hobbies as you, or change their priorities as they start having kids and stuff.
I just found this video, good info 👍😉 In game I basically do whatever makes me happy and not looking at the silver to much. A bit of grinding, bartering, gathering, processing, cooking, trading, build a worker empire, make an alt. and do the story line again. Just enjoying the experience of this beautifull game.
I got burnt out and took a 2 week break to play Skyrim, right now I'm going through something similar, I don't have much to do. Energy is always low, grinding isn't that fun right now and bartering requires a better ship which takes days to do. But I've pushed through grinding at manshaums and now I feel like I make a lot of progress and money so the fun is starting to come back. Also scrolls for me are fun right now but prices are too high
I hear ya man. Once I passed the initial gear hump of 220ap - 235ap, I was able to grind end-game spots again. That's when the game got fun and I worked through my burnout. Ever since the 4th anniversary events, they utterly gutted the mem frag market. Pila fe's are spammed regardless by gold-sellers so the market never balanced out :(
I legitimately just quit worrying about money and the grind. Just worked on getting all my characters to level 61 and working on my farm about once an hour. I mean in the end it is still kind of grinding but in my mind it doesn't feel that way. At almost 10 bil I feel like I am finally making progress with the silver income. Another thing that kept it pretty fresh for me is the seasonal character for sure. Just finding what you like to achieve in this game and sticking to it is what makes this game so fun.
back in 2017 when i grinded for 8 hrs a day at pirates to exhaustion that's when i really burned out. after leaving and returning i can no longer grind longer than 3 hrs. and respectfully so, I feel the mental drain and force behind it. especially sinces its so boring killing npc mobs over and over, compared to stimulus other games require. as much as i want to gain exp and silver, the game requires longevity and patience. the grind is there if you want it, the gambling is there if you want it, but the approach is the important part. ive gotten way more into cooking and trading for stabilized income incase i ever want to enhance and prep for the loss. its also way more chill and mentally stimulating figuring out numbers and trying to manipulate the market and find profit margins.
I went from 220 to 245 on xbox during Christmas, spent my Christmas gift money on the pearls that were 20% off for all the 50% off outfits. Then i invested a few days into fail-stack building and learning the mechanics. In 2 weeks i hit 241 kutum tet and 253 nouver tet. I will admit I broke so many accessories it wasn’t until the very last few attempts i got extremely lucky and walked out with gear 6 times worth the amount I spent. Do I recommend paying? NO I GOT INCREDIBLY LUCKY THAT I DIDNT END UP WALK AWAY WITH NOTHING AT ALL. XD it was the most intense days, seeing one accessory after another break at TRI hurt. I only just barely pulled off what I did and at the very last attempts too. It’s an amazing feeling but I feel it was incredibly lucky too and would not reattempt but maybe thats just my experience. 😅
Great video. This is crazy but this is exactly what has been happening to me lately. Been playing 3 weeks and got to 215ap and realizing there's no dungeons. The most fun I have is doing world bosses and trying my luck at being funny in roleplay/guild chat (group chat reminds me of fruity and negative league of legends interaction). I don't want to life skill but I also have thalassophobia so I have my character sleep afk in their house to gain energy to put into nodes that I plan on grinding later. Then ride my horse to world bosses and do a couple quests. Its not much but its honest work. zzZ This game has been tricky for me to grasp, its not like the others and that is appealing but I think I need play more passively (ha this game encourages afk!)
Thanks for sharing SGallahadd. The great thing about this game is that it's lives up to the sandbox genre. You can progress in this game many different ways. Of course, people tend to follow the path of making most silver/hr as that's the most important thing at the end of the day. But we can't lose sight that this is just a game after all, not a job :P
Btw when bored and stuck with no gear progress, create an alt and try a different class, you may end up liking it and getting it to 60 has benefits from daily income l do this personally just raise achar to 60, thats like awhole week of experiencing something new, after that week am missing my main so l go back to her Also since am casual as fuck, am always looking to collect outfits, its anice chill goal thats doable, grind abit, preorder costume rinse and repeat

I left Fluffy as is because I want names based on gender significance and in terms of the mounts that are traditionally male, based on their original counter parts, I dont know if its set but if not, I was lucky with Black Beauty. Am on the edge of quitting missing factor is there is nothing else to play for me. Im not having fun in grinding when i pop LS im like comon tick faster. 🤣 Lifeskilling is the same not even considering getting into another since they require alot of time investing to be meaningful. PvP the way it works im finding it dumb. I don't get satisfaction since i grind to grind better.
Doing life skills is a sign of burning out. Bartering can be great at first but when you realize you have will or time for more active pve play you are reminded that the same spots you've grinded for last x months await you. Harsh truth is you either love the pvp in this game or you quit So BDO burnout progression looks like this: interested -> life skills -> barter -> quit
I'm already at the barter phase, and with a carrack I am feeling lazier than ever. Maybe when I get a t10 horse I'll quit lol but yeah I can't stand grinding and spot wars since I'm absolutely terrible at pvp and pussy out of fights. The only thing I can stand is mirumok, and I only do that til my agris runs out. Then it's back to bartering.
Lifeskills make the most money though. Eventually, once you hit full pen, the only way to progress is caphras. That's probably your progression. Play the game like a laborer, it get's boring. Got to play the game like a game, make friends, have fun and mix up what you do. I got friends who only make money from grinding, they're struggling right now. Can't keep it up for a long time. Sure it's immediate cash, but if they explored other parts of the game they'd be much better off.
Welp i did rush things.. grind few days for 2 bil silver. And pen roulete... It was like weekly things to do.. till bad rng kicks in.. took me a month just to recover tet bheg glove.. my current goal to get 270 kut.. now stuck at 267...

for old player like me, this is relax and more to progress compare to the games before pure grinding to level up and not much to make progress like side quest, and no life skill before. we grind more than 10hours just to level and reach some stats, but lately games are more faster to reach max level, and players from 2010 onwards enjoy that privilege fast phase gaming, but for me as an old time player, this game is relaxing, except for pvp, no time for that, graduated already. i just want an mmorpg that i can progress by myself, no guild that keeps bothering you, no friends needs for help, no war for short. hehehe me and my son plays bdo, i want to share with him the game i was in before except for the pvp, just a game he can learn, progress by him self and enjoy exploring and learning. back in the days, no game has a gameplay like this bdo, graphics and details. very amazing. as an old players, done with the pvp and guild, this game is relax, u progress solo grinding solo u can achieve something in the end. except for higher ap mobs. good thing most of my guildmate are already married and no more gamelife, some are into mobile, no more grinding. f this game was made 2006 onwards, we could be 1 of the hated guild. been there, no part will accept u, u have to temporary leave ur guild just to join a part, after u lvl up, u join the guid again. in bdo, people are just showing off, afk gaining money and buy gears, back in the days, no lifeskill u have to grind hard to get money and buy gears, and can event hunt because most of the mobs needs party. and there was no youtube and discount or google if u need help for quest. thats y games before are more on grinding, level and gears because u cant find any info of the game. hehehe but this days, just search and ul find answers, games have quest content event its not that good but still there is something to do aside frm grinding. hehehe. not sure all agree with me, but this is my openion in this game. atm bdo make me remove the stress of the bills due to covid. merry christmas and happy new year
Thanks for sharing Nero. I miss the old school MMORPG's for sure. There're multiple ones which I wish re-released their vanilla versions like Maplestory or Aion. They just don't make them like they used to anymore.
I played this game when it first got released, and got back into it just some months ago, and I burn myself out cuz I just wanna catch up to the higher gear score bracket, so I can get into PvP, but then there are all these updates and new gear, and u get more exhausted, cuz now everyone will have a lot more DP and AP and you gotta grind even more. Just now they released a new questline for high bracket players to get 1ap and 1dp. I don't think that's fair lol. nvm. I always burn myself out on MMORPG's and then I quit and come back a year later. BDO should have a Trial arena and battleground. Where u choose a Trail character and everyone has around the same stats. Like in Guildwars where u can change stats but everyone is equal.
i´m a full lifeskiller and i can make about 1 bill a day without going out of calpheon :D AFK cooking or processing in pure crystals for manos accs :D better than bartering and a lil bit cheaper. my tryhard was about 1.1 bill Profit in 180 Minutes incl. 90 Mins gathering rough stones. I dont know any other opportunity for this balanced semi AFK income :D PS: u need about 1.5 bill for buying all the ores and other needed stuff. PPS: My Heating Mastery is about only 1500.
i liked the game alot but tbh the game has no content no proper pve no dungeons no raids. u need to grind like 10 hrs a day for 6 months to even get good gear. thats the main reason i quit and its sad cos this game has alot of potential.

Truth: You can't help it, it's a natural occurence! Just leave then comeback every month or two it helps!
Ye, gotta take breaks and do what you can do haha.
That's exactly what I do every time o get burned out of BDO and every time o come back I get more stuff done than before
@@Taskard Preach it!
I am always drained so I don't know what it feels like to not be drained
lol yikes
Doing life skills is a sign of burning out. Bartering can be great at first but when you realize you have will or time for more active pve play you are reminded that the same spots you've grinded for last x months await you. Harsh truth is you either love the pvp in this game or you quit
So BDO burnout progression looks like this: interested -> life skills -> barter -> quit
It was like weekly things to do.. till bad rng kicks in.. took me a month just to recover tet bheg glove.. my current goal to get 270 kut.. now stuck at 267...
yeah man, it's a gamblers game. I preferred to go slow and steady :s
Hey Pansy, how do you get the barter icons to appear on the islands? Thanks
You have to walk around on the island till you get the knowledge for the island. For some, you talk to the node manager but if the icon still doesnt show up then run around on the island till it's unlocked.
@@imPansy It was actually a bloody setting on the map itself, i have all the knowledge from the islands but had to activate the option on the map for them to show, 2 months I have been sailing around without them icons on the islands, lol, oh well we live and learn, ty for the reply ;)
@@ijcunningham7873 haha glad you figured it out!
i'm on the xbox and we don't have bartering yet, do i need to be level 50+ to barter or can i do it on my lvl 49?
Yeah Bartering isnt out on console yet. Once it is, you'll be able to do on a 49 if you wanted.
@@imPansy thanks man :)
Yeah that’s why I only grind on the weekends, and afk life skill through the week.
I stopped for almost 5months lvl61 due to the pandemic., when I got back, i literally grinded miru for a week to reach 62. Forgot how much tl i got ., got really fed up after getting the capotia earring., so i just stare at my gear.,
Haha man, the seasonal servers are a huge skip. I wasted months getting to soft cap.
@@imPansy yep., im from 238ap., 3 weeks left before the summer season ends, and I focused on making the tuvala belt and necklace and then did the early graduate. My ap became 254ap., around last week of September,. And now it's 269 kutum., the season was literally a big leap. Even if you're a newbie.
The sad thing is, all our efforts reaching 240ap before was now in vain. Kwkwkw
I legit grinded at fogans from 190ap to 235 iirc for 6months
@@lloydforger2920 Lol i feel the same way man. From 235 AP to 274 kutum, I made huge quick gains. meanwhile it only took 2 weeks for my seasonal char to hit full pen. I wish i just shutup and lifeskilled until seasonal servers came out. Then again we didnt know it would be a things so rip lol
Really agree. Not gonna deny that I'm a bit salty that they played bdo on easy mode., but I'm still glad players increased.
Yup 7 fails on tet basi which is my first tet accessory to get to 261. Stsrted at a 110 stack. I'm slowly getting burnt out since all my hard work keeps disappearing
Ouch man, I hear ya. Enhancing in this game is absolutely brutal.
for old player like me, this is relax and more to progress compare to the games before pure grinding to level up and not much to make progress like side quest, and no life skill before. we grind more than 10hours just to level and reach some stats, but lately games are more faster to reach max level, and players from 2010 onwards enjoy that privilege fast phase gaming, but for me as an old time player, this game is relaxing, except for pvp, no time for that, graduated already. i just want an mmorpg that i can progress by myself, no guild that keeps bothering you, no friends needs for help, no war for short. hehehe me and my son plays bdo, i want to share with him the game i was in before except for the pvp, just a game he can learn, progress by him self and enjoy exploring and learning. back in the days, no game has a gameplay like this bdo, graphics and details. very amazing. as an old players, done with the pvp and guild, this game is relax, u progress solo grinding solo u can achieve something in the end. except for higher ap mobs. good thing most of my guildmate are already married and no more gamelife, some are into mobile, no more grinding. f this game was made 2006 onwards, we could be 1 of the hated guild. been there, no part will accept u, u have to temporary leave ur guild just to join a part, after u lvl up, u join the guid again. in bdo, people are just showing off, afk gaining money and buy gears, back in the days, no lifeskill u have to grind hard to get money and buy gears, and can event hunt because most of the mobs needs party. and there was no youtube and discount or google if u need help for quest. thats y games before are more on grinding, level and gears because u cant find any info of the game. hehehe but this days, just search and ul find answers, games have quest content event its not that good but still there is something to do aside frm grinding. hehehe. not sure all agree with me, but this is my openion in this game. atm bdo make me remove the stress of the bills due to covid. merry christmas and happy new year
Thanks for sharing Nero.
Like in Guildwars where u can change stats but everyone is equal.
i´m a full lifeskiller and i can make about 1 bill a day without going out of calpheon :D AFK cooking or processing in pure crystals for manos accs :D
better than bartering and a lil bit cheaper. my tryhard was about 1.1 bill Profit in 180 Minutes incl. 90 Mins gathering rough stones.
I dont know any other opportunity for this balanced semi AFK income :D
PS: u need about 1.5 bill for buying all the ores and other needed stuff.
PPS: My Heating Mastery is about only 1500.
teaaach me master!
Thanks for sharing MM. I might have to do that someday, but for now I gotta do what's fun :P
@@imPansy billions of silver is fun :D
@@emzeeDD sitting in calpheon isn't great for content creators :D
@@imPansy True Story :P
So we're not talking about you standing while gaming, fine.
hes prarie dogging
wouldn’t be much burnout if there were four player dungeon instances
keyboard macro that spams R helps with gathering
yeah for sure. I got a toggle set to my thumb button usually
pov of me playing the game for 3 weeks going to keep playing tho
"I don't see the point in node wars"
Then why do you even have gear?
Fpr grinding in endgame Lol
i liked the game alot but tbh the game has no content no proper pve no dungeons no raids. u need to grind like 10 hrs a day for 6 months to even get good gear. thats the main reason i quit and its sad cos this game has alot of potential.
wholesome :)
l think if you like pvp, its very hard to burn out, humans never get stale
Everyday u meet anew person in battle arena that plays in adifferent way, keeps yo brain on its toes always
Been goin five months now, never grind for more than 2 hours ever just BA or rbf when am bored
keep bartering until max bl;ue gear for carrack
thank me later (you can forget everything else this is enough to win in bdo)
haha ill keep that in mind
Flashbacks of 10 and 12 carrack node wars xD
It so sad.
What sad?
Need my net password to play dad
Do what ever is fun and set up AFK income. You won't burn out than...and the money will come.
Truth!
