There's no saving BDO anymore. MR J will not listen. It's a shame. He did the exact opposite of what businesses do, which is give your consumers what they want. We wanted PVP, we wanted group content, we wanted actual new content, we wanted fixes. What we got? Early access level changes and recycled content. Dekhia lvl 2. Rofl.
@@thexro9335 it's the truth. BDO is literally known for being the "solo mmo". Idc what you think. It isn't up for debate. It's a fact lmao. And there is a reason PA has been shifting away from pvp more and more. Cause it's unpopular! If the majority of people loved pvp and interacted with pvp they'd logically make sure pvp is good and healthy. Start thinking with your brain and less with your emotions.
I don't think I've ever wanted to like a game as much as BDO. I think it's beautiful to look at, runs great on my machine, I like the classes, the art design...I even like the whole housing set up thing. I've been playing MMOs since UO and muds before that. I'm also what people might describe as a whale insofar as I'm at a life-stage where I can and don't mind paying for stuff. I keep coming back...then turning right around and leaving. I'm prepared to tolerate a certain amount of grind and chance. But what this game asks its players to do is just crazy. Kudos to you folk who've managed to grind through insanity...I ain't judging you. Spot on Pansy.
true true, i only stand it since im used to grinding on diablo 2 as thats literally my #1 game haha, bdo is just a dream game because its diablo 2 for me :P
You read my mind ,i swear 15 17 years back i wish for any co.pany to create a mmo with this style of combat ( been think of a street fighter mmo etc) and this is happen later in 2016 ...is everything i want for a game ,i really dont care about p2w ,i dont want be no1 ,i dont care abut grinding ,why people complain ,what to do in a mmo ,in all mmo actually ,grind of course ...diff content arround grinding , but indeed some of the things are exagerate ...with all this i still love the game ,its a journey ...
@@DrSwazzTrue. I used to play tf out of witcher 3 with repeatable content mods, stardew valley and rdr2. I go into this game with that same mindset as it offers those experiences that I want and just immerse myself in the pretty world, sick combat and player driven economy not really participating in any of the ratraces. Equalized pvp is there anyway anytime I feel a little more combatant.
When I was 690 GS I could hit 730+ players, I would die but there was also a chance that I could take them with me. Now when I am 730 GS, I cannot touch anyone 750+ after the spec eva changes. Suddenly class and gear matter way more than 8months ago. I keep grinding to get all these debos but I do not feel an increase in power. It seems I am perpetually chasing stats to make a difference and its tiring. Now with Sov weapon releasing I fear if I don't get a sov weapon the gap increases even more and thus I feel I am burnt out. The DR and Spec changes are the worst changes PA made in a long time and all because they were afraid to nerf op classes.
If they made cron stones a drop from places like gyfin and up thatd be such a huge sign of good faith from the devs.(make them like as common as caphras or something around there) Even if they werent sellable on the marketplace. Give end-game players at least a BIT of a break.
What hurts the most, is that J and devs said that they WILL try to listen to us more than before and be more proactive with changes that we ask for....that was at the start of 2024 and here we are now, them literaly doing the opposite of what people are telling them to do or even going as far as making massive changes that nobody even asked for.
I don't want them to listen to the players. I don't want to play a mess of a player vision game. I want to play a game art, made and done by Developers, not crybabies.
@@TheCosmicAstro- bro some players are mad they can't bully you anylonger. :D That's it pretty much, nothing else. All the changes was good. They just need to add solid content and the game is good to go.
@@ТодорСтаматов-ъ4я sounds about right, from everything ive seen not much has changed. theyre just mad they get punished for being assholes now lol and cant feed people to mobs. funnily, you can still do all of the things im seeing people complain about. the only valid complaints ive heard are about changes to nodewars and sieges such but i have no clue about cause i dont care about then, never looked at it. but yeah good content AND fixing progression. Progression is one of the biggest issues in the game that has literally zero reason to be so obnoxious. they need to entirely revamp the enhancement system to not downgrade at the very least or give us crons that we can farm at like caphras rarity... something man. the game is far from perfect, people are just finally getting tired of it after years of being abused.
I want to just say, ive been watching your content for years at this point. Bdo is one of those games i leave and come back to regularly but always watch content on it to see whats new. To me Bdo is an itch game, i cant regularly play it year after year but every so often i come back to grind for a few months try out the new classes or new content. And i dont forsee myself ever stopping this loop until another game comes out with combat that feels this good. Its so unique and as someone who play cod zombies like it was a full time job, running around in circles for hours is kind of my thing. That all being said gear progression doesnt feel good after the new jettinas system and getting fallen god stuff. Regardless love the content man, and will always be stopping by regardless of the game you are playing.
Those hundreds of hours grinding for treasure items such as infinite potions, Dream horses, and soon the Carracks, that will go in the market for sale. Some examples that made me feel like crap for spending hundreds of hours to achieve those items, just so they have them for sale at the end.
I was a pure lifeskiller and quit when port ratt was replaced. I blew like probably $500 on the game over the course of 3 years to optimize the convenience of doing so. But PA basically ruined cooking/alchemy when they got the game back from Kakao by giving everybody free buffs for 1 silver for like a year. They never fixed the price control issues or the limited consumption issues of the lifeskill activities. In the end i just couldn't hold out after waiting for years for the player economy work again; the the lifeskilling side was a major differentiator from the competition but in the end it basically rotted away.
Man I feel you. The way players view lifeskills is that it’s a path we choose instead of grinding. PA however wants everyone to see it as a secondary optional gameplay and everyone come and buy their outfits/monetizations. Unless they embrace it like it’s also a main pathway for the players, I don’t see it changing. If it was me I’d have pumped out a new lifeskill every year with content associated with it.
The market is very limited due to set max prices. This is especially true for lifeskills, you will never make comparable money with active lifeskilling as you can do when you grind nowadays. Set minimum prices to avoid monopolies sure, but max prices are just dumb imo.
I feel like having forced PvP on all servers without the major penalties we've got now was another differentiatior BDO had which had me on the loop. Game's over for me currently, just got my full set of Debos with PEN neck and reading the comments from the upcoming content just makes me feel stupid for even getting that stuff. It''s gonna be pennies and a quarter of the hours i spent for it and for what? It's not like we've got to defend ourselves anymore.
I was part of the quitters as well. Lots of fun with PvP scene back during covid days but i wanted to express my gratitude towards your content man it helped me so much whether it was quests or odd shit for PvE you were a gem and just wanted to that your way for what its worth.
Lifeskiller myself, I still don't mind BDO and I'll keep playing, but I've had to switch a lot of my focus to PvE grinding to keep my interests up. Only been playing for 3 years, while there's been some fantastic QoL changes, lifeskilling's slipped into a monotonous grind with very limited avenues. For better or worse in regards of silver, to keep it anywhere near being interesting I have to produce everything myself, if that requires gathering stone or whatever for 6hrs, so be it. I guess I'm just clinging on at this point, when I reside to just afk fishing, that'll be my sign to throw in the towel. Your idea of gearing up and buffing up and parking near a grind zone is a good idea, I'll try to keep that in mind.
i quit the game 3 years ago and regret that i didnt play final fantasy 14 before and spend like 20k hours on bdo, i just dont like how events ruining market and that was my main reason, i cant tell much about pvp because i was pve player
I had 739 GS and I’ve been taking a long break from this game. What drove me away was the fact that Debo grind seem too painful and they gave away PEN BS to everyone. Thus I think it’s much more intelligent to go away for a year or two then go back to reap a bunch of new/returner benefits. Which is to say, I found no reasons to stick around as a veteran since the way up is just too harsh and newer players are catching up too quickly. Tbh, this game removed too much of the power and status of veterans.
ultimately if you track it down the main issue comes to the enhancing system and the endgame loop. I would say it been declining for years. Game sold as more PVP-oriented game initially, but player start to realize that they can just swipe cards to hit max gear. They try to tackle this by adding capped pvp content, catch up mechanic and lastly free end game gear, which at the first glance feels nice but it hurt the game in the long run. The old player will obviously feel like they got slapped in the face. To mitigate that issue they add another ceiling by introducing more end game items to grind for, pretty much cron sink mechanic. Playerr probably lost motivation to grind cus why would they, uncapped content is a joke and even if they grind it there's huge chance they will give it in the future for free. This wont be a big issue if the enhancing system itself is not predatory and unforgiving. And the endgame loop after 10 years is ONLY grinding is probably the weakest point of BDO. Apart from PVP, pve wise bdo offer nothing, by nothing i mean something that is fun and challenging at the same time. No raid, dungeon is a joke and not worth running. All we got is circle with different gimmick, it just dumb no matter which angle i see it. so pvp is ded, pve is mindless circle hamster ball. p.s : I'm actually writing this up before watching the video and you mention pretty much the same issue lol
At the end of the day the biggest issue really is the enhancing system. Either they need to make cron stones more readily accessible like having them become common drops at high end grind spots like underground gyfin and up, or they need to just fundamentally change enhancing to be more like the guaranteed Jetina questlines, just minus the time gating.
@@TheCosmicAstro-yea the enhancing is terrible, it fuels burnout. I got very motivated in my Debo grind and grind Debos 5 hours a day just for it to fail everytime. I feel like there needs to be guaranteed progression like literally every other game. In this game you have to grind for the rare legendary drop and that’s the easiest part
sad what they're doing to this game and how out of touch they are eg "More adventurers are playing and enjoying the new NW system" weird how there's not been an update on that take since NWs are on life support now and basically dead
the fall off is unfortunate cuz i remember coming back late last year, getting my infinite pots, getting lucky with triple BS taps and then having the best time ever getting to 711gs. Whats wild is the exact moment i hit 310ap 401dp I did the math on how long it’d take for debos and the minimal(relative) bump in power and how LITTLE that bump in power would get me and lost all drive to grind. I really want PA to turn the ship around and I think they COULD, the gameplay issues arent these unsurmountable problems, i just dont know if the internal WILL to do so from leadership is there, which is a huge bummer.
Im taking an indefinite break from the game. The grind broke me. That 285+ AP Hump is absolutely ridiculous. 100% correct, THE GAMEPLAY LOOP IS BORING!!! Orc farm, upgrade, fail enchants, back to farming. Not fun in 2024.. Life is hard enough; this isnt fun.
Hi Pansy, Thanks for this video, i needed it. I was thinking about quitting or not BDO. Now I'm gonna just take a break, maybe coming back later for the nostalgia. (Go to hell damn tet talwars...)
I started BDO in 2016 and was on and off BDO until 2020 when the season character came out. I did not enjoy "the old days" gearing in 2016 was a pain in the ass, and the pvp from 2018~2019 was also ass (20 min grind, 40 min fighting. I rather play LoL if I wanted pvp). But after the season's character was released, I enjoyed every minute of BDO. Even with the current state of Debo ruining the market, I'm not stressing; the game is easy now, and I can grind my spots nowadays peacefully and undisturbed. I was even on Ashra grinding, hoping to try this "PVP" everyone cries about, only to be met by a friendly player asking how much longer I had left. The state BDO is in at the moment is great for grinders. I'm looking forward to the black shrine content and doing them with my guild, like the weekly dungeons we already do.
I've been playing since 2016, I've enjoyed grinding for most things. I've been playing very rarely now after realising the Debo grind is either pumping silver into Crons or the accessory Hammer. Not a fun loop. I don't know what really changed because it's a very similar loop as before...
They can't rely on BDO being the only game with that style of combat forever. But they can for a very long time. Just look at Vindictus, my previous "live" game of choice. Its devs/publisher absolutely stomped it into the ground, do not update the client in any substantial way but there are STILL people playing it. Because there is just nothing like it. /cry
i been away from the game for almost a full year now (11 months) and seeing whats been unfolding lately isnt really of a surprise but kinda shocking nontheless
Right now, as a returning player who had like 250 hours when I left and now 340 hours, progressing with sailing up to getting the volante is rn my main activity. When ppl told me that this is a sandbox mmo, i took that and stuck with that statement and now its pretty fun and relaxing ( compared to the other games ive recently played) to just sail and barter while being afk and doing college stuff or playing a different game on my switch lol. I havent even done or started a lot of "mandatory" quests like The Magnus one cause i know im gonna not enjoy that whatsoever from the frequent opinion i hear about that. My endgame goal is to solo vell with a volante 🗿 and I will probably be up to that fight within a month from now. After that idk what the hell imma do. Pvp looks fun but I needa do some research b4 i step into solare for the first time because lord knows how many players like me consistently play that mode. And lord knows if the pvp combat is fun and enjoyable to me to stick with it 🙏(im an awk corsair for just, fyi🙏) All i can really say to this game for improvments is just to lower the amount of grind for shit honestly. Lumbering for the timber squares for an epheria frigate, the green thumb questline for the gathering minigame, and leveling from 60-61 were my.... personal lowpoints of the game lol. Knowing that everything after is just a grind that can be made 10x easier with a loaded credit card is a.... very bleak look after im done with my vell kill lol. And thats the other thing is like, honestly they couldve got me to spend more on their game like the returning player inventory expansion and weight stuff , if it wasnt over 30$ for both of them. And then cosmetics is over 20$ each outfit. This game is not friendly to your wallet at all 😭. But overall Imma keep doing my sailing until my vell kill, and after all that im really good without the gear, mob, silver, quest, and whatever else grinding honestly 🙌. If i wanted to play a game with overworld mmo pvp and pve combat, which was the only thing that appealed to me first when I started playing bdo, id just go play Deepwoken now which doesnt have a grind involved everywhere to just stand a chance against others (and to make another character to stand a chance ).
Well said. I have been AFK fishing for months for most of the reasons you have mentioned. This game is a blast until you hit the content & gear wall. Not sure why I am hanging on by afk fishing lol...
Hey, frost DK is pretty damn fun again, I heard you talking about it before that you enjoyed it in the past. It's not quite the crazy APM, but the new reaper and exterminate mechanics are pretty fun. You have a 30 second CD Zed(from league) ult kinda thing that you want to pump into, and then after you expend it your next killing machine obliterates do massive ice scythes. You summon the dragon harrier strike on every pillar of frost, and there's a few other entirely different playstyles to choose from as well. This one I just listed is based off of Saurfang from ICC, and it's just so damn fun though. Mythic+ has been the best it's literally ever been, the raids , the class designs, the class balance , and the story are fantastic, and based on what I've played so far I think even PvP is going to be pretty sick. They've just added RBG solo queue today and that's going to be hype.
I quit for about 6 months, perhaps after the Moon quest. Came back 2 days ago and the first thing I see in Pearl is that I can get like 1100 more weight for $80. Probably going to buy it also xDDD... The game is so manipulative.
Well I think it's the correct developers! The issue is the investors steering the wonderfully made game solely towards making money and disrespecting veterans
J idea "we need more money, so we can do a dekhia lv3, add new level to actual item that need trillion of silver, 1000h of grind at the same spot we can recycle it in a feed hours of work, and indirectly a lot of cronestone will need, and we call it a new content update.." I think they should change the person who manages these decisions, maybe someone with a Western culture, especially if they want to make their product work in that market.
I used to love BDO and don't play other MMO like how I play BDO, but when I discovered Guild Wars 2, god damn I told myself why I didn't play this game before, the difference is night and day specially in PVP and gear progression, No gear enhancement needed! (tho i have pen debo neck in BDO). I quit BDO and mainly play Guild Wars 2 now.
The money and silver comparison, and central market is too expensive not worth to fully grind the item anymore, and yeah i spent all the grinding to get all my pen and they just give it, thats what makes me quit.
Totally agree with this... right now I only play BDO for the guild league even though I'm a gearlet along with my pve guildies haha.. after that I play other games.. so yeah just play the part that u enjoy the most, and if the game dies then just move on to other games..its that simple really.
Might have a weird way of looking at it. but being 18 and having played bdo for almost 8 years, that's a huge % of my live that bdo has been a part of. Slowly I've grown to dislike the game as many have but couldn't seem to move on. And then I actually sat and thought about it, when i realized that I've spent like 25 to 30% of my life interacting with something that doesn't make me happy. Realizing it that way, I've just quit. Was just the right snap to reality i needed. When Pansy says about make sure you are spending you time well, I could not agree more. you have one shot in life, is bdo it? is that the game you wanna be spending your time on?
Been playing black desert online and black deser mobile since the pandemic hit. It save mu sanity ffom being always indoors, i enjoyed playing it and iam still plauing both of the game until to this day! I dont get tired grinding as iam born within the era of mmorpg from were grinding and farming were king! I love BDO BDM and iam waiting for crimson desert to be released aswell.
looootta people got booted from the partner program recently. recent as in within 2024. Most of it was for BS reasons too or just drama between partners and people mouthing off to CMs where they shouldn't. i got close with another partner and got sucked into all this drama and suffered for it and nearly chased off the internet after. im still on a few KOS lists in game and this person quit the game a while back
I’m interested in seeing their plans for the new world. My thoughts are they where originally gonna make Crimsion Desert a MMO as BDO world was coming to an end but instead the decided to make it a single player. They decided to implement the MMO part into BDO instead via using Magnus to travel to the past to explore the world of the ancients from lore. I feel like it’s prep for that and it’s gonna be more a PvE focused game play with maybe some new PvP elements. Games change , they need to make it work for new players and old players as well. My thoughts are current world is becoming New player friendly and prep for the New Old World of the ancients which will be more challenging but I could be wrong but I feel like that’s what it’s prep for the new world.
Console is in the same boat. 2 weeks ago, I told my guild I am done. I have been playing Wizard a long, long time. They have made Awak Wiz completely useless in PvP. I also play on PC. I am thinking about dropping that as well. Thank you for this content ImPanzy!! Someone had to say it.
Logged in on phone just to drop a comment. Thanks for the video Mr. Pansy! Used to love watching your bdo videos. Game died when you stopped telling me where to grind 😂 Hope you are having fun with your new endeavors
the simplification really just brought to the surface problems that were already there and made some of the things that much more obvious. I feel like they need to push further into UI aspects of the game and think more on the time element some stuff takes to just interact with because as the game has expanded it has gotten harder to really grasp the depths of the game interactions leading to a shallow experience overall. would love towns to be simplified so that node management wasnt something you need to master. this really became apparent when they simplified traces because a lot of the investment changed drastically overnight. towns really lost a lot of identity with the update.
I used to grind like crazy, so when I was flagged open world, got a DFS or seen warring guild I could 'do better'. Now I circle grind to circle grind somewhere else. GVG, DFS, open world PvP etc is dead. Grinded 1k+ days in game for pen tungrad rings, pen disto etc for it to crash on boring 'debo only' grind. No longer motivated to grind good gear because the PvP content isnt there. Loved the game, hate where its going. Farewell BDO
I agree with you man, I also miss the old days of the game! I've stopped playing for quite some time now and I kept my gear as is just incase I come back! but its been nice playing other games with actual content lol!
This is crazy new players can hit 309ap with ease. 2x pen tungrad earrings 12b each 2x pen cressy 14b each pen ogre 25b pen basi 20b vells heart free pen bs tet bs sub weapon 😂😂😂😂 with all journals
I totally agree. I've been playing on console (where the situation is even worse) for 4 and a half years and the game now seems to be just waiting for someone to shut down the servers.
Oh man so sorry I didn’t even mention console. Y’all are overcooked at this point. Chicken hard as a rock. That honestly requires an entirely separate video in its own. They did console so bad. Console deserves justice.
I saw the writing on the wall when they announced theyd srop releasing roadmaps years ago. Its clear the scope of the games developments was cancelled and eas replaced with "QoL" updates which require nowhere near the amount of talent and resources. RIP bdo. Just like archeage, utterly wasted potential.
I quit bdo because it was actively ruining my life and video gaming. What I learned and did in bdo was just sad to me rather then enjoy my life or try to I would spend time running in circles making money just to gamble it on a video game haha atleast it wasnt working a dead end job to hit the casino after a shift never done that. but it was okay for me because it was bdo? Nah. no game could give you the feeling of hitting a pen disto earring (I have) that feeling was insane it felt like actual drugs how good it was fucks sake I smoke weed every day and idk if i ever got more high doing a drug then tapping that pen disto LMAO quitting bdo has allowed me to live a real life fuck this game.
@@imPansy I personally loved how the game looked when they announced back with Crimson the first time lol a different feel and look which would be nice in the sea of Tolkien Fantasy or Sci-fi MMOs
character strength power ap dp should increase with xp as you grind kill mobs bosses in real time and win in open world pvp, and not rely so much directly on gear gambling enhancement system
I would rather grind for cron stones than be forced to pay for convenience features, which seems to have been their monetary change. BDO DEFINITELY still has tons of convenience features that plague the game, but major changes like maids, magnus travel, and ability to grab things from any storage due to magnus. These updates fixed issues that made me quit before. Half of the game before was dealing with tedium.
imo all games will lose endgame players. your players get old, life happens, you've grinded 10k hrs and complain about nothing to do. You need to be able to replace the players that quit and make them competitive with endgame PvP, and the way the BDO's progression works you NEED catchup mechanics to have any hope of catching up.
That’s true! It’s generally the life cycle of player population. Issue with replacing the playerbase in BDO is that it’s such a steep slope. It’s a niche within a niche. You gotta convince the player, yes it’s very solo oriented progression, yes it’s a p2w cash shop but you can grind for hundreds of hours in its place, yes there isn’t much variation in content, yes it’s an RNG enhancement system etc. Point is it’s a lot of important things which people view as generally negative that one needs to accept to get to the proper endgame. We’re at a point now where the balance is skewed way to the side of losing players vs gaining and keeping.
@@imPansy I think the thing that saved me from getting too upset about p2w is it genuinely feels better to grind for 2b than to buy it. You have to be very successful for that to be worth it monetarily.
sadly after 50 k hours i finally un installed it the hamster weel is done for me . for me the endgame and pushing my self was for pvp and they gutted it . i have no regret uninstalling it and waiting for throne and liberty
Muhahahahahah Throne and Liberty with a combat system of 1999. Good luck with that. And if you think they will give you free PK in Throne and Liberty you are even more delusional.
You’re being emotional if you quit BDO thinking there’s a better MMORPG. Also, PvP is still alive Arena of Solare is a PvP game of its own. The combat system and everything about this game have no comparison. No MMORPG comes close, except if you're looking for a no punishment PvP system for bullying undergeared players
@@Taha-Aamamou lol emotional for not wanting to play capped content for not wanting to run around grinding for no content . there is a good reason all guild / alliances are disbanding they are emotional also good 1 . combat is the best there is but its the only thing left going for the game . but hey u do u il keep playing ff14 having fun and playing other games then to spend time in a game i currently dislike
Been noticing that games going from EAC to Wellbia is a sign that game is going on life support. One service is a cost-cutting measure over the other. Definite warning sign.
I have alot to say but I think at its core the game is just played out and needs a fresh spin. No grind zone, no new class, no new weapon to grind for will be something that really changes that because its just more of the same. MMOs live and die on the freshness and new ideas brought to the table and this game really hasn't changes in years. I enjoy it but you know I don't even really think I play this game. I only do lifeskilling and don't do combat grinding or chase combat gear upgrades so I really never even got into the game play loop intended for this game lol. In modern times I think not trying to waste peoples time for metrics is a much better outlook. Like rather then design a game people need to play like a job to actually progress make it more approachable and complete able to people log in for a new update play a month and then move on. I think the main issue is looking at gamers like they are supposed to only play one game instead of just making a good experience they can complete and then take a break. Pretty much I think games that want to be the only game in your life are on the way out and it feels like this is mostly the core issue of the game. Its designed in a way to push out other mmos from your gaming rotation and people I think get bored of that real quick. What could save this game? Honestly I think only a real good story people can get invested into at this point has any chance. No class, no new zone, no new grind area is ever going to turn this into a mono game again and the only hope probably is having a good story and keeping it interesting so people come back for the story updates. Sure maybe when they come back its only for a few weeks or a month but play into that and just drop more story every few months. I really don't think anything else gameplay wise will push the needle just because of how long the game been around and how played out most things are. Personally I am on break from bdo atm and it makes sense that people would be because the wow expansion dropped. I think what you have is those few people that only play 1 game see the numbers drop and think the game is dieing but this is normal that when another game puts out new content people will take a break to play it because most normal people don't just play 1 game. So its like you got a wow expansion, a fallout 76 update that just dropped, destiny dropping its next act, once human just launch another season and those are just the mmos. There is so many fresh things to play that repeat experiences would make sense are dipping at the moment. Just calm down and relax aiight as soon as people finish up with the new content in other games they will be back. 13:33 Ya I think most of that was fun because it was a first time experience and personally I dont think you can ever recapture the past by doing the same thing. The only thing really you can do is keep trying new stuff and hope you come across something just as epic you haven't experienced yet. So I would agree a classic mode would do nothing to push the needle of engagement.
I stopped playing BDO lately its been 1+ month now and thats only for the lack of content plus the RNG system which over the years made me quit bdo too often (yeah im looking at you hystria) , and all I did in the last couple of months was just: Start bdo > jump n run trough cities > chat with npc's in chats > getting bored cuz who tf actually has time to grind debos with -10000 rng > exit the game.
Pearl abyss is doing so badly they stopped funding dokiV development and started dumping it all into crimson desert. If crimson desert flops pearl abyss does too
What really matters is if the Dev's get a kick in the ass from what's happened, and they decide to pull their shit together. BDO isn't the first game to lose a lot of players due to bad decisions. I feel like the doom and gloom is just a bit too much and is really over exaggerating whats happening. Pvp has been slowly on the decline for years almost everyones good pvp memories they like to point out are from 5+ years ago, and i feel like the changes made people realize they are getting burnt out of the game and its a common and healthy to need to go play something else. I feel like a lot of people will go to throne and liberty for a little bit then come back to bdo in a few months. Its just a bad update hit us during a content drought.
Agreed! Sadly though PA will expect people to come back and it’ll be business as usual. I don’t anticipate any change, the direction they’re going is intentional and they don’t see it as a mistake
Great video, especially with the advice of don't blow your stuff up unless (that's what you're into). The game won't die yeah, if overwatch is still up, pretty sure bdo can outlive it for a solid decade.
i stopped playing bdo about 2-3 months ago, started play The first descendant and this game has drop rates of around 3% or so for almost everything, and i have every character and every gun in the game at mastery 26. the longest it took me to farm a character was the new one hailey and she took around50 hours or so. i had around 30+ swings at a black star and so much other stupid luck on bdo, im never playing it again. in the first descendant i built easy 10 or more black stars over or so equivalent. plus to console community is like 10 times more toxic then pc. bdo stopped being fun.
Sadly BDO will never get good boss fight until they change their game engine. LOML bosses has so many flaws including desync'ing themselves, lingering damage after the animation/vfx is done. They are still a shitshow 1 year later after many "fix" attempts. 🤣 Glad to have FFXIV/WoW in a healthy state.
That's what most people don't understand. They want bdo to be a theme park mmo, which will never be possible with the engine, instead they should have worked on the strengths of the game pvp/openworld + lifeskill. Desync in pvp is annoying, but imagine half a raid being wiped because of desync
Bro if PA fix Server issue like when we do SIEGE not getting so much lagging will be nice, because there is 10+ fort with 100ppl x 10 guild = ±1k ppl, the server cannot handle more than 1k ppl , and i hope PA bring back old node war systems
I don’t get why they don’t just listen to the player base. Like stop implementing shit that no one asked for, stop NOT adding shit that people are begging for, stop over monetizing, add content that doesn’t involve hours of circle running, add party content
They listen troll. They just don't listen to toxic people like you, who are the minority and you just can't accept them. This is the facts. They have the numbers, so they know better than you and me, you are just mad and can't get it. You won't get the forced PVP back ever. So go play Throne and Liberty and see how that's go. :D
@@ТодорСтаматов-ъ4я Already on it. Why bother with this dogshit dumpster fire called BDO when after 8 years they still don't give a flying fuck about player base but are way more interested getting 2nd Bugatti for Mr. J after milking PvE andy's off their hard earned money with Cron Stone sinks. BDO progression has never been more boring than now and since PvP is hard dead why even bother gearing up in the first place? Just so you can see 2% increase in revenue while grinding Dehkia lvl6? What a joke..
I really liked the game over the past 4 years but their biggest issue now is the fact that progression is locked exclusively behind cron stones and rng. Crons are the sole method if increasing character power/gear. It doesnt help that the most efficient way to get crons is p2w (melting cotumes).
I dont understand all This vidéo on RUclips Really …. I explain im 32 im à Dad and a husband, I play lot of mmo, I play 1or2hours a day, I love bdo so much I put maybe 30€ per month for bonus, im 293ap With 411DP with 1600hour play ( no afk) I really not understand why everyobody Say « bdo Die » If you play 10h a day so every mmo is Boring after 6month…..
Bdo isn't dying but a lot of content creators since they do nothing but play the game 12 hours a day, have hit hard cap ages ago and so they're annoyed that they dont have anything to do and that the inevitable introduction of new things means skirting around the absolute terrible enhancement system for the thousandth time. I agree the game isn't dead and is better than people say. But it's not perfect and could definitely use some help.
hi bro i will help you explain how or whats happening,if you enjoy your playtime now continue am not refuting that but am explaining whats happening cos you asked. MMo has been in market for more than 25 plus years and alot of mmo deaths where documented and studied so much.Bdo like all other mmo had its ups and lows and it always bounced back from falls, but this time the game fallen too much and devs is also ignoring that fact.Even if player pop goes down to down in the past usually when new updates and map comes it goes drastically up,but this time when loml 2 released barely any hype nor player popualtion went up and actually its going down.Lets take last year 2023 when loml 2 laucnhed alot of hype ton of players surged all vetrans and new players surged in.Even new class relased dosa didnt put a surge in players. This shows the game is loosing more players than gaining and if you know how a mmo works on is that it should have a steady healthy player population if it doesnt have that it fails.Bdo had a core gameplay loop for 8+ years which they suddenly destroyed withoout adding anything new to act as a alternate to it there by destroying the whole community it had for years and destroying alot of content bdo had.If you check all these youtube clips and look under the comments you can see 100 ppl saying game is going to die and 2 others says its jsut doomer pot, does that makes sense? 100:2 ratio of -ve to +ve comments shows players like majority isnt happyw with the game. So whats is happening now,mmo company taking the bad decision and ignoring the communtiy ghosting htem ignoring the vetran players abandoning contents without adding new lack of vision declining player population mass exodus of doomer post these all points direct towards once single outcome bdos death All the mmos that died in past went though the same path, new world archage, wild star etc Any one who played mmos for past 20 years can easily see bdo is practically going the same text book path of how to kill of your own mmo by yourself. Destroying pvp scene without adding proper pve alternate was a text book joke move mr J congrats on killing your own game. The 2 commentors under your comment are the only two comments supporting PA in this video comment threat from like almost 500 of comments so that does mean something. you are in the honey moon state you wil understand this soon, this aint wow or gw 2 you will get it soon why so much players are unhappy soon.
@i-F-wp5uk looking at the steam chart graph. The playerbase is the same it's always been. People are just finally sick of the bullshit so they wanna say it's dying but it's really doing no different than it has the last 10 years. The game has always had issues from the start. Weird that people are finally taking issue with them now.
Agreed two times left the game because I had to spend 2/4 of my life on farming or doing the hamsters wheel and the game still overwhelming for beginners maybe they should improve that first before they add new tier stuff 👍
I do find it funny that PA bought EVE which is all about maintaining a core player base long term. Seems a bit silly for them to throw away the game, it would make more sense to build upon and evolve BDO over time. Building a player base shouldn't be taken for granted.
I am okay with the new catch up systems, I wish grinding made even more silver/hr so i could actually catch up to the endgame faster. I just want our pvp back like the old ways. I want pvp content to actually pay and give pvpers real profit. I personally would spend most of my day doing pvp and enjoying the game that way. I could progress while doing what i enjoy in the game.
I havnt played BDO for about 3 months now. Have 15k hours logged but just felt theres no point grinding and just cant dedicate the time. BDO is still my favourite MMO
I'm confused why everyone's only *just* coming to the realisation that BDO is a hamster wheel grind? It hasnt changed since day 1. Can anyone explain: "What it was, what it used to be" in the context of it *NOT* being a run in circles grind fest to get better gear to do the exact same circles in higher gear areas or more efficiently?
Basically back then we had a pinnacle goal that was PVP. We grinded hard to so we could get stronger for PvP. It’s the same game but now we lack that goal since PvP is in bad shape
@@imPansy I dont know anything about the PvP so i'll have to accept what you say there... But as a complete outsider who's watched these same videos since Morrolan called it quits, id table an alternative (or more likely, additional) possibility... With the tone of the vlogs, it feels a lot like you gents have reached the closest to the top you can get without burning thousands of $ on crons and what helped you get there were the catchup mechanics dark hungers and hammers.. The next steps are pretty close to impossible to surmount... you're effectively at the end. When you reach the end of an MMO the feels and nostalgia set in...
Just came back after a year, to blow up my gear for the third time. After 6,600 hours all bdo has become is a drandom day of gamba from free rewards every couple of months. I'll never engage with the gameplay loop as theres so many better options that respect your time.
Bdo is still great! It sure has p2w elements but its a free mmo! It has grind but thats what we like about open world pvp mmos! The biggest problem in my opinion is the lack of content!!! Seoul was a great addition to the game...if devs continue like this, bdo will be back!!! 😎
J should watch some Jeff Bezos interviews and business strategy, especially in customer obsession to save BDO. Money > BDO players. Damn, J should make a guide on how to ruin a game of the year to buy my Ferrari and Rolls Royce. Missed the days when grinding for higher gear score felt more gratifying so I can get revenge on some dude who pk'ed me for fun in infinite pot spots.
it baffles me how they always come up with stuff to sell on the pearl shop but never fixed the stutters and pop-ins in the game, the graphics feel so outdated and they never ever update anything grafically, im glad i quit the game got old to me after 12k hours and 740gs
Industry has been nuts lately man. I'm new to bdo and have used several of your guides recently (all well made) It is such a wonderful game, I just unlocked awakened woosa recently and got that "yup this is my main" feeling. Two giants in the MMO space seem to be fading - BDO and Destiny 2. Destiny 2 is easily one of dopest games ever; and now I can also say BDO is - and both are completely ruined by "gotcha" money grabs and dis-respecting their veterans by prioritizing new players. I feel like a bitch-azz being basically as strong as yall running around. Different tactics each game same outcome. I'd love to see you pick apart the game like you mentioned! IF YOU ALL NEED A NEW GAME - Path of exile respects its veterans tremendously. Only like 2% of the player base even knows what end game skills and content look like unless they youtubed it. They definitely nerf end-game stuff and chit like that sometimes annoyingly but they walk the line MUCH better. No money grabs - stash stabs are the only required purchase in their shop (very affordable and sales frequently). The build diversity will scratch gaming itches you never knew you had.
Fun fact is that everyone is so hyped for Throne and Liberty and it will do like kr, an INSANE flop. The combat is soooo bad for a 2024/25 game, if u compare it with the game u r talking in this video (bdo) is muuuuchh worse (i played it even on kr servers not only for the eu public beta, god damn this game is death in kr). U say bdo monitization is bad…I can understand why but at least in bdo u can progress without spending a single dollar, god damn throne and liberty is SOOO much more p2w, like A LOT more. Try it for a month and good luck boys
I think it shouldn’t be too disappointing. We already know what it is. A lot of folks played in Kr or the free open beta for NA. At least in my friend circle, we accept it’s a simpler combat but the gameplay loop and variety was refreshing. It’s gonna be a fun 1-2 months
@@imPansyfor sure if u accept the fact that is a 1-2 month game its gonna be pretty funny, for me I pref a long term experience so ill wait for the next mmo or the reborn of bdo ;)
Very true ,TL feels like 2012 max ..is really bad combat ,and man the main issue with people is ,why they expect a freeg game lol ,i meen are so many people work to create that ,to give updates events etc ,bur mainly creation from zero ..how you expect free ,for what reason ..and in the end is zero p2w ,thw money you spend for outfits and resell is a no brainer.....when will be items with more power paid and a normal guy who dont pay cannot have it ,there will be an issue
honestly all BDO needs is a new game director with more control the game can make a 180 with the right direction what PA has been doing this year is killing the game i don't see BDO lasting more than a couple of years with the current direction and it is PAs main source of income so they should act while the game is salvageable
While I agree with pretty much everything you said, the game also hasnt been anything else, ever. Its always been an rng nightmare for enhancing, its always been an endless grind for gear to grind more gear. Yes "they" killed OW PvP but you can blame the players as much as you can blame J. As for the monetization, its gotten better for a while after PA took over from kakao, and now its mostly just overpriced but useless crap in the cashshop. But thats just every MMO ever. I dont know a single MMO that doesnt have a boring and stale endgame loop, be it the grind in BDO, raids in WoW or FF14, Dungeons in T&L.. different shades but the same fucking colour.
their monetization is absolutely obnoxious.
Omg the cash shop is literally digital vomit at this point 😭

There's no saving BDO anymore. MR J will not listen. It's a shame. He did the exact opposite of what businesses do, which is give your consumers what they want. We wanted PVP, we wanted group content, we wanted actual new content, we wanted fixes. What we got? Early access level changes and recycled content. Dekhia lvl 2. Rofl.
Most people do not want pvp or group content.

If the majority of people loved pvp and interacted with pvp they'd logically make sure pvp is good and healthy.

Most of us folk sticking around aren't grinding... 😅
@@DrSwazz yeah i loved the pvp too haha i play bdo for aos atm since open world is pretty much gone lol
To clarify I mean underground gyfin
That change alone might bring some of us back lol
What hurts the most, is that J and devs said that they WILL try to listen to us more than before and be more proactive with changes that we ask for....that was at the start of 2024 and here we are now, them literaly doing the opposite of what people are telling them to do or even going as far as making massive changes that nobody even asked for.
I don't want them to listen to the players. I don't want to play a mess of a player vision game. I want to play a game art, made and done by Developers, not crybabies.
What have they done that's the opposite?
So far all of the changes I'm aware of are good changes. Especially the pvp changes.
@@TheCosmicAstro- Yikes
@@TheCosmicAstro- bro some players are mad they can't bully you anylonger. :D That's it pretty much, nothing else. All the changes was good. They just need to add solid content and the game is good to go.

funnily, you can still do all of the things im seeing people complain about.
the only valid complaints ive heard are about changes to nodewars and sieges such but i have no clue about cause i dont care about then, never looked at it.
but yeah good content AND fixing progression.
Based comment
I fucking love this format. Part of the things that made me follow you was that u are a pretty straight guy so keep it up man 🤝🏾
I appreciate it dude, thanks 🙏
Awesome video and ramble. Stuff we all need to hear
Thanks dude. I hope they eventually turn things around. Would love to see the game do well again
Keep gatekeeping fool
Always love listening to you talk.
ultimately if you track it down the main issue comes to the enhancing system and the endgame loop.
All we got is circle with different gimmick, it just dumb no matter which angle i see it.
so pvp is ded, pve is mindless circle hamster ball.
p.s : I'm actually writing this up before watching the video and you mention pretty much the same issue lol
bruh what? swipe card to hit max gear? in which kinda top 1% world are you living in?
@@YuIivee 'Just swipe cards' AKA spend tens of thousands before you even touch hard cap. In games like WoW even a few hundred will get you closer.
In this game you have to grind for the rare legendary drop and that’s the easiest part
sad what they're doing to this game and how out of touch they are
eg "More adventurers are playing and enjoying the new NW system" weird how there's not been an update on that take since NWs are on life support now and basically dead

pansy, your strenght is your personality, your just relaxed and nice. small talks like this, or just reacts would be awesome.
Thanks homie I really appreciate that!
the fall off is unfortunate cuz i remember coming back late last year, getting my infinite pots, getting lucky with triple BS taps and then having the best time ever getting to 711gs.
I love the Fan!!!! Welcome back Pansy.
Haha thanks dude!
@@BDOGreatSaiyanMan Taking a break is good decision. A lot will be fresh and new when you come back

Hi Pansy,
Thanks for this video, i needed it.
I'm looking forward to the black shrine content and doing them with my guild, like the weekly dungeons we already do.
somehow i take a break from this game, hopefully more fun PVP content will be available, but yes, this game still good.
always enjoy pansy's content, bro always sounds so legit. keep going G
/cry
Maybe someday one MMO with BDO combat and good gear progression will be made
It won’t die if you know about a game called ragnarok online it’s since 2004 or 2002 and it’s still freaking alive lmao
You dare compare BDO to a goat like RO?
i been away from the game for almost a full year now (11 months) and seeing whats been unfolding lately isnt really of a surprise but kinda shocking nontheless
And lord knows if the pvp combat is fun and enjoyable to me to stick with it 🙏(im an awk corsair for just, fyi🙏)
All i can really say to this game for improvments is just to lower the amount of grind for shit honestly.
My boy Pansy you looking buffed, damn look that that right arm.
Bro bro bro that arm is just closer to the camera cmon
We fell in love with the right game, that had the wrong developer. Shame really.
Well I think it's the correct developers! The issue is the investors steering the wonderfully made game solely towards making money and disrespecting veterans
@@imabautakaum Thats sadly the truth the devs cant even choose what to develop cause the stakeholders only want to dry your wallet
Most of it was for BS reasons too or just drama between partners and people mouthing off to CMs where they shouldn't. i got close with another partner and got sucked into all this drama and suffered for it and nearly chased off the internet after. im still on a few KOS lists in game and this person quit the game a while back
Wooow. Kick out the free advertisement for their game. Brilliant move PA, brilliant move.
This is very great for the game

What I learned and did in bdo was just sad to me rather then enjoy my life or try to I would spend time running in circles making money just to gamble it on a video game
haha atleast it wasnt working a dead end job to hit the casino after a shift never done that. but it was okay for me because it was bdo? Nah.
no game could give you the feeling of hitting a pen disto earring (I have) that feeling was insane it felt like actual drugs how good it was fucks sake I smoke weed every day and idk if i ever got more high doing a drug then tapping that pen disto LMAO
quitting bdo has allowed me to live a real life fuck this game.
Good that you quit.
Lack of pve dungeons killed it for me
Yeah they could have done better with that. They just added party mode boss blitz though if that’s your cup of tea

DokeV MMO let’s go. Kick the waifus to the curb
I’ll see you on the other side!
@@shiberoe There is plenty of uncapped content. And why would you want uncapped PVP? PVP is supposed to be about skills, not gear.
Been noticing that games going from EAC to Wellbia is a sign that game is going on life support.
One service is a cost-cutting measure over the other. Definite warning sign.
very well said Pansy
Spot on man, I still like the game for all the enjoyment I got out of it, But i sure miss the good times of fighting it out.
So I would agree a classic mode would do nothing to push the needle of engagement.
the game is beyond expensive! u can spend $500usd and get hardly nothing cron wise! absolutely insane! and it keeps getting worse!
@@Themanvrg True. The idea of RMT for Crons is ABSOLUTE garbage.
What was the bad update?
hell yea i've been waiting for a legit take from pansy! u've been hiding in the shadows! glad to hear your take!
You got my sub speaking truth here
Sadly BDO will never get good boss fight until they change their game engine.
BDO inspired the combat in NeverRage, an indie mmorpg I'm programming
Don't worry I'll support your Maplestory transition LMAO
I really liked the game over the past 4 years but their biggest issue now is the fact that progression is locked exclusively behind cron stones and rng. Crons are the sole method if increasing character power/gear. It doesnt help that the most efficient way to get crons is p2w (melting cotumes).
We had 18 people on eu sell all there life skill and pvp gear on the market in 1 day

If you play 10h a day so every mmo is Boring after 6month…..
Exactly.
So whats is happening now,mmo company taking the bad decision and ignoring the communtiy ghosting htem
ignoring the vetran players
abandoning contents without adding new
lack of vision
declining player population
mass exodus of doomer post
these all points direct towards once single outcome bdos death
All the mmos that died in past went though the same path, new world archage, wild star etc
Any one who played mmos for past 20 years can easily see bdo is practically going the same text book path of how to kill of your own mmo by yourself.
@@woody-tom2812 Thats exactly what i mean. The only problem in this game are popular hardcore no lifer streamers who achieved everything and complain.
Agreed two times left the game because I had to spend 2/4 of my life on farming or doing the hamsters wheel and the game still overwhelming for beginners maybe they should improve that first before they add new tier stuff 👍
This is what happens when you have greedy and stubborn af devs
You’re right doesn’t matter what any of you say you’re all just expressing opinions like everybody else. No more authoritative than anyone else.
The sweatiest guild leaving only leaves a void to be filled 🎉
MY MANS!!!

At least in my friend circle, we accept it’s a simpler combat but the gameplay loop and variety was refreshing.

honestly all BDO needs is a new game director with more control the game can make a 180 with the right direction what PA has been doing this year is killing the game i don't see BDO lasting more than a couple of years with the current direction and it is PAs main source of income so they should act while the game is salvageable
