Amazing video. My experience was actually pretty similar to yours (same 3-6h battery life, minor software bugs), and I was also surprised by how unexpectedly light it is for it's size. Although I don't share your opinion on the buttons - I think they feel nice, especially the D-pad
Im kind of pissed at the fact that valve doesnt directly sell the steam deck in India. Although some vendors do sell it, they are selling even the base variant non OLED model for 500 - 600 USD.

Most people simply don’t have enough disposable income to buy a dedicated gaming hardware like the steam deck. So, people who can afford it have to get it through grey market importers who markup the consoles up to 2x their original price.
That's unfortunate man. It really sucks. I know there's not a lot of opportunities over there. The government needs to get their act together and start bringing jobs and industry to India. They should take Modi's face off the rice bags too...
I got the white one and it's my first steam deck... after selling my switch oled a few years ago I missed gaming on the go on commutes and while my gf is watching her programmes.. Absolutely loving it!
I noticed that you were not connected to Wi-Fi and you were not in "offline mode" this is probably why you had issues with the quick access button I have had no issue and i am constantly without internet you can put your steam deck into "offline mode" in the settings under internet for when you are going to go on a trip

When I get the funds and there's a sale, I'm getting the 512gb model to upgrade. Then, I'm gonna swap the 2TB SSD card from my LCD model, and put in the new OLED model when I buy it of course. I already have a Case and it should fit the OLED model since it's the same body.

@ if you plan to use it for anything other than gaming, I would say get a laptop. SteamOS in this little mobile device is great but the Linux OS can be a bit confusing if you’re not used to dealing with it.
Hwo is the Buildqulity on the OLED? Had the OG for a month and the blastic creeked and bend in some eras. Also had a Rog Ally Z1 and it felt rock solid.
@@ChrisBa303 I’d say it’s pretty good. I’ve ripped this thing apart, brought it on an international trip, and have absolutely abused it. I haven’t had any issues with the build quality. The internals are slightly different than the LCD steam deck but I’ve found the overall quality to be good
@ Ok, overall build qulity was fin on my LCD but the plastic squeaked in some ears. Not a big problem but ab bit conserning for a device your supposed to take with you.
It sounds like you're not limiting frames or enabling half shading, etc. You can get more battery and games will run smoother, also it can run elden ring just fine
@@MRDaved all lowest settings on Elden ring. Ran between 20-30fps. Playable but not ideal. Imo this is subpar for me and I would pick a different game to play
@@TheRageAcademy There's something wrong with your steam deck then, it's even verified, and when I played it I never dipped below 27 or so. Weird how experiences can be so different. Then again, I undervolted mine so that may be it.
@@MRDaved After looking back at the footage, you’re right. The lowest I dipped was 26fps on Elden ring. Mostly during fights/when a lot was happening on screen. How much more battery life were you getting with the undervolt? What did you offset by?

I don't remember exactly how much better battery life i had, but i remember my 1% lows not being nearly as bad and made some games playable that weren't before by personal preference. (Ik some people on the steam deck reddit form thinks that Space Marine 2 is acceptable with FSR set to ulra with 24 frames haha, waiting for that steam deck update they promised)

@@liamwashere1405 well, I mean yes and no. Wooting really pioneered the HE setup and did so much research and development with their product. From the looks of it, Madlions just scanned their entire board and copied it as cheaply as possible. I really doubt, like sincerely 100% doubt the madlions software can even hold a candle to Wooting. I also doubt madlions has the accuracy of the Wooting stuff. They’re probably other small details like a worst sound due to the steel top plate, and cheaper (not as bright) LEDs in the madlion I think Wooting has a done a bunch and has always been transparent with their customers. If anything, these dudes should be ripping off logitech and eating into their sales lol

Games like Silent Hill 2 & Until Dawn & Forza Motorsport & many games that trouble other devices. You might have to run it at 720p. It’s 50/50 whether a game runs at 30fps ultra settings at 720p or 1080p. It’s not uncommon w/ this device that you can max out graphical settings & enable ray tracing. No the steam deck’s not the ultimate gaming handheld lool it’s only that if you use it to cloud stream games via Gforce now.
You're basing it off of just fps the aya neo slide won't compare to the OLED steam decks screen , battery life, ergonomics, support, warranty , accessories, frequent updates , steam os, cooling, fan noise , speakers ,and the community behind it the only real competition for the steam deck oled is the rog ally x .
I just bought a 4k OLED 144 hertz handheld gaming device that yeah it’s android based but you can cloud stream off of it. Combining this with Gforce now will allow you to play 4k OLED 120 hertz on a handheld with all games set to ultra settings including ray tracing on max if it’s a ray traced game. This device cost me $380 on the steam deck i could maybe play Alan Wake 2 on a steam deck natively, but only at 720p & at low graphical settings. it might cost twice the price to buy that steam deck over what I purchased. With this streamer you don’t have to download any 100 gig games or buy expensive storage or load any shaders or install any updates. The current iteration of the steam deck is only the future first someone with a closed off mind. A future steam deck? Who knows. But this one is an antiquated piece of tech that the end of 2024 has left behind

Steamdeck is good if it weren't a useless brick. I mean there's so many cases of the SD bricking but valve won't fix it. 1 year warranty isn't enuf for this shit device. GL carrying a ticking time bomb.
@TheRageAcademy I think it's software, I think I found a fix but I'm waiting for my HDMI adapter to arrive to test it. I think it's a bad bios and has to be updated. The screen goes totally black and it doesn't boot but you can still feel haptics. Some people can still see their screen in monitor mode, some can't. You'll see a bunch of videos on RUclips about it.
@@crankyboiy that’s a weird bug. I mean, on the brighter side it’s software related but still unacceptable. Hopefully when you get the hdmi adapter you can issue an update to the deck and hopefully fix it

Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with any. Your best bet is a local tech/PC store I think
