    Had MJ played in the 4th quarter this might have very well been another 60+ scoring game for him. He had so many game like this where he scored a lot of points through 3 quarters, because the Bulls we're up so many points blowing out opponents he sat in 4th quarters often.

    44 pts/12 reb/8 ast/2 blk in just 33 minutes of playing time. This is the game that Jordan set his career mark for 3-pointers made in (7 threes). He would have had 60 if he played the 4th quarter.

    What a sick dunk on Manute. What a sick, gorgeous, hang-time reverse at 4:00.

    His intensity on defense is amazing. And look at some of the drives, he gets hammered but do we hear the whistle?
    Great performance from the 3pt line too, hitting them like FT's.
    Thanks again mlynch.

    Mlynch i cant thank you enough. I was waiting for someone to post this one. One of the most memorable games from this season.
    This game is one of the examples i mention when someone talks about KB scoring 62 in 3 quarters. In that game KB takes 31 FGA and 25 FTA in 33 minutes of play! So give MJ another FGA and 22 more FTA and he easily surpasses the 62pt mark. But hey i guess MJ was too busy playing a team game judging by his all around production. (cont.)

    The guy would be a top 3 point shooter in today's league, if he wanted to be. Perfect shooting form and an unparalleled drive.

  • @delfra70
    @delfra70 11 лет назад +2

    You're right, that's what made MJ's big scoring outputs so much more meaningful, because of the opponents he scored his points against. 63 against Boston(top 3 defense) in the '86 playoffs, 61 & 59 against Detroit(No.1 defense), 55 at NY Knicks(top 3 defense) and i can name so many more scoring explosions this cat had against the leagues best defenses. He did'nt just score and feast on terrible teams like so many of these other players who rarely ever scored big points against good defenses.

    Even though the Bulls lost the championship that year, 1990 MJ is one of my favorite memories. I got the Jordan 5's that Christmas and I wore them so much they fell apart. Hes got the 4's on in this game but you know what I mean.

  • @luckylefty232323
    @luckylefty232323 15 лет назад +1

    One of the things about MJ is that as many highlights as he made, he wasn't a flashy guy. I honestly believe he was the most fundamentally sound player besides John Stockton who's ever played the game and he also was very very skilled.
    Today's players jump from HS to the pros, nothing wrong with that, but all based on raw talent, they lack the fundamentals of the game. I.E. Kobe, Lebron, Howard, Tracy etc. Very talented, but lack basic fundamentals of understanding the game of basketball.

    2;15...michael jordan is the most creative player to ever play the game...nothing has ever been more true.
    But some kids out there claim kobe(who does everything he can to copy a lot of michael jordan's move) has more moves than MJ because they heard marc jackson(who has been humiliated by jordan time and time again) say this BULLSHIT on ESPN.
    MJ came into the league with a never before seen variety of moves,his repertoire was unlimited,some players imitate him well but no one comes close.

    1:05 - Jordan clearly fouled by Bol, no And-1.
    3:50 - Jordan hip-checked in mid-air, no And-1
    Can see the fouls on the replays at 4:20 and 6:10. Phil Jackson stated that Jordan would get fouled constantly and they wouldn’t call it because he was good enough to do it anyway. You don’t notice at first because such plays are so routine and commonplace for Jordan that the uncalled foul is overlooked.

  • @luckylefty232323

    (cont) Lebron lacks the agility, quickness, offensive and defensive skill that MJ had. Even though he puts up great numbers, he lacks the skills and fundamentals of the game. Kobe is a great, superb one on one scorer, but lacks when to attack and not attack the defense, although he makes very difficult shots I must admit, there are better approaches to getting those 2 points in the basket, but then again the league today is not the same as when MJ played, back then people really played def.

    (Con't)Take a player like Tim Duncan for example, he may not be as athletic as Howard from Orlando, but no matter how much Howard works on his game, Tim Duncan will always be more skilled and fundamentally sound than Howard which = rings. lol. Is knowing how to read defenses, knowing when to take a shot, a good head fake when needed, those simple basic fundamentals of offense, or defense are what made MJ the best player that ever played the game. Lebron is a Mack truck on a fast break...lol

    See this is the difference between MJ and Kobe. Had MJ played in the 4th quarter who knows how many points he would have ended up with but he didn't care what he could have went for because the game was basically over. MJ scored or wanted to score to win not for stats unlike Kobe who stayed in against the shitty Raptors team and just kept on scoring for records and stats not just to win. That is why Kobe's 81 doesn't really mean shit or play ANY significance when comparing him with the GOAT MJ.

    • @johnsurs22
      @johnsurs22 9 лет назад +2

      chitownref Yeah, but Kobe had 56 in 3 quarters, 62 in 3 quarters, and other performances where he would have at least had 70 points. He obviously sat out in the 4th quarter in those games, because they were blowouts. On the other hand, the Raptors game was still not put away until close to the end, at which point, you might as well let him go. Jordan may not have even hit 60 this game. I think that Jordan was more consistent and efficient than Kobe but not capable of some of the most ridiculous scoring games like Kobe.

    • @johnsurs22
      @johnsurs22 9 лет назад

      blackadam06 Yeah, but those are really high scoring games on pace for 55-60 points. I'm not exactly sure, but Jordan probably had a lot more 40 and 50 point games than Kobe. My point was that Kobe had performances like the 42 in the first half, 62 in 3 quarters, and 81 point game which are near record-breaking. In the 81 point game, he scored 55 in the second half alone. I don't think that Jordan could do that unless he really forced it, because his playing style was different in a lot of ways.

    • @chitownref
      @chitownref 9 лет назад +1

      This is by the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Sorry but it is Kobe who had to force and take all the shots to hit those #'s. MJ did it with ease but without trying to set record after record.

  • @3DStoneCt
    @3DStoneCt 11 лет назад

    I was just picking about Kobe being better than Jordan. I wasn't joking about Kobe being held down for 10yrs. Jordan had to adjust his game to the triangle but Kobe was never allowed to just shine and express himself for the first 10 yrs. of his career. George Karl ('98 All-Star Game), Del Harris, and Phil's system along with Shaq held Kobe's expression down. Why do you think Bryant was so selfish? He was young and wanted to express his game so he could figure out how good he really was/is.

  • @luckylefty232323
    @luckylefty232323 15 лет назад

    (cont) People get hit for ticky fouls now, when back in the 90s, you really had to be fundamentally skilled to penetrate those lanes with no 3 second rule and hand check.
    Another major difference with MJ and these other clones ,is that MJ stepped his game up when he played against legends eg larry bird 63 points. He avg 42 points in the finals in '93, when phoenix had the better team to beat the bulls. His intensity level was unmatched. Kobe has 81 against raptors? and 61 with Knicks? lol

  • @mt883

      +Buster Posey Its barely 10 minutes in this video, but go on make more assumptions and more comments please, they're entertaining.
      Even in the countless of highlights of MJ that put the defense in a bad light, it is still not that common to see blatant defensive mistakes like helping one pass away, leaving the weak-side spot-up shooters open, leaving the paint and rim left uncovered, unnecessary rotations that confuse your own teammate etc. However if I turn on any current NBA game today, I would see it almost right away and at least once every minute of game play.

    (cont) and people celebrate lol. Pathetic, Leborn scores 52 with a non defensive Knick team, lol. MJ scores 69, 62, 56, 45, 62, 61 50+, 37ppg with the best of the best. Don't believe me youtube it..lol. He killed dominique with 62, murdered birds celtics with 63 as a 23 year old hitting clutch free throws with no time on the clock, murdered Isaih in '88 with 56 pure jump shots, toyed with Patrick ewings knicks in the 90s...and they played D. I can go and on those who know ball agree. period

  • @3DStoneCt
    @3DStoneCt 11 лет назад

    Jordan sucks. What, he couldn't get 50 through 3 quarters? Please, the man is no Kobe Bryant. When Jordan can get 81 points shooting 50% then we can have some type of conversation but as for now, Kobe is the best and Jordan's style is totally copying Bryant. Kobe had to deal with Shaq holding him back and I doubt if we could ever see Kobe's greatness cause Kobe was held back in his first 10 years in the league. Jordan was allowed to express himself from '85-'93, Kobe had cuffs on him for 10 yrs.
