What a beast MJ was. I used to watch him in awe when I was a kid. He never ran away from the ball, from a challenge, from anyone. I understand why this new generation don’t understand the greatness of this man, but rest assure, MJ is the greatest of them all.
Marlon Lopez Darn right. The experience is not in the present. You have to see it as it occurred to know MJ’s greatness. These kids will never know. 23 took over. Dominated. And conquered like no other. Super teams get all the credit now but, MJ did it his way.
The thing about MJ is that he just could raise his game to a higher level because he had the most control over his body. His only comparison would be the guy he carried on tradition form which was Dr.J. Like the Doc, Jordan could go into the paint full of giants rise up in the air like he was jumping off a trampoline, hang suspended in animation from all these crazy angles like Spiderman then lay it up over, around, through you or even toss it up behind his head for a no-look shot off the glass and clap his hands just for special effects. What made Jordan surpass the Doc was that he was the greatest leaper of all-time because he could jump off tow feet just as high and explosively as he could off one foot. Nobody since then has that much confidence in their ability! LeBron, Kobe, Wade, T-Mac, Vince, Stackhouse, etc...They came close but MJ is still above par. Zion is more like MJ in that he can drive and leap off one or two feet equally, play great defense and he has that type of quickness and ability to float but at 285 pounds with suspect knees, I don't know if his body will hold up. If it does, I think he has a chance to be the next contestant in the "Chase the Ghost in Chicago" sweepstakes but I'm not banking on it anytime soon because to be greater than MJ, you have to do over a billion in sales from your product, you have to have the NBA chance the rules in your favor form your dominance and you have to win 10 scoring titles, 6 rings, 6 Finals MVP's, 5 MVP's, ROY and DPOY. LeBron isn't going to catch him neither is Steph, KD or Harden and Giannis and Kawhi probably are the best young players. So it's almost an impossible feat at this point.
God #1 Lebron #2 the 92’ Knicks would eat most of today’s teams for breakfast. As would the ‘98 pacers. The Bulls toughest battles were in the eastern conference usually and it wasn’t sorry especially in this first threepeat era. Don’t forget that Lebron also had his ass handed to him by a 6th man - Jason Terry - in multiple games in the 2011 finals and even the tv crew with guys like Chris Webber and Grant Hill were saying Lebron gave up again in the finals a couple years ago. Lebron James is probably the most physically imposing and versatile basketball player of all time but he’s also disappeared in huge games and has legitimately given up. His talent itself is undeniably great but I can’t imagine his only occasional mental toughness still remaining if he actually had to play in an era when people knocked you on your ass.
All they have to do Is watch him on RUclips Im 23 and understand how great he was competitive 💯
God=Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest of them all. He was the only One that overcame the whole world.
Mike was on another planet in this game
Mike was already on another planet, he was on another universe in this game
He was another planet
Someone before the game had said that Drexler had Mike on 3 point shooting, so MJ made it a point to rain down threes which led to the shrug. He was basically saying, "I thought I couldn't shoot threes like Clyde?"
What a lot of people don't realize is that the 3 point onslaught and the shrug all happened because before the game some reporter said Clyde Drexler was a better 3 point shooter than Jordan. The man literally took everything personally and would come out smoking guys to prove whatever point he wanted to make.
MJ= Yeah I kinda took that personal. Savage 😎
@@kurtbertrand9829 why he’s the GOAT, and not LeBron. This guy was like the Terminator. Just vicious.
MJ shot nothing but 3's during practice before the finals
Then immediately following this game they had the Gatorade commercial “Be Like Mike”.
These were the days.
I was 13 going on 14, I miss the '90s
@@BROOKLYNVILLAIN I was 11 to 12 during this time. It eerily seems like it was yesterday.
@@Drozzzable yeah it does. Long live the '90s😫😫🔥🔥🔥
Pippen steal, jordan dunk
Drexler for 3, airball
Here's Jordan for 3........yessss
Technically Drexler's airball was partially blocked
The greatest putback Dunk NBA history
If you saw that sequence live, you were speechless and emotionally tearing due to extreme amazement and seeing greatness
Watching Michael Jordan play basketball is like listening to Mozart's greatest symphonies, apreciating Leonardo Da Vinci's timeless paintings, reading Shakespeare, attending the Nutcracker in Russia, going to a Michael Jackson concert, watching Casablanca or The Godfather. Impeccable craft that will carry on in history.
Exactly right
Michael Jackson?
4:11 Greatest comment in sport history.
Here’s Jordan for 3 Yeeees!! Goosebumps every time
Nothing beats the intensity of basketball in the 80s and 90s. There's such a lack of intensity in basketball today players from other teams go on vacation with each other! I thought it was strange in 1992 when the dream team got along so well. But as soon as that was over war was declared once again on each other.
I grew up watching the modern Era, never got to watch Jordan's Era. But all I gotta say is this man is the real GOAT not Lebron!
I'm 46 years old so you know how many of the greatest player's I've seen
U missed out BIG TIME thankfully there's RUclips. Oh, and it's very nice to see that not all youngsters are morons. Congrats to u for being able to see who the true "GOAT" is. Pass ur intelligence onto ur friends.
Yes he was. MJ got people like me who hated the sport to watch which Lebron can't. MJ had style and charisma on and off the court. I watch Lebron and I see a big guy with ability but nothing that brings me back. If I was looking through the tv listings and saw a Bulls game on I watched it, for one reason only.
@@kelvinmorris1991 true, I'm 41 and the late '80s '90s was the truth.
@God #1 Lebron #2 yea David Robinson and Karl Malone were 'real' bums..... uh huh
Got chills watching this.

Just hearing the crowd react to MJ’s greatness gives me chills. So much energy. Iconic
Man how perfect is his jump shot 🔥🔥
Whoever comparing Lebron to MJ is delusional.
I don't compare them but since LeBron Is so great why not 😂😂
Completely delusional
@Greg Hubbard Kobe is closest thing we have ever seen to Michael. The comparison is warranted

Jordan’s such an enigma lol I mean, can you imagine anyone doing this lol Jordan’s one of those guys that becomes underrated, over time lol Not overrated. You don’t even appreciate what he was doing, you take it for granted because oh well it’s Michael Jordan lol But can you imagine anyone doing this.
The 🐐 doing 🐐 things. 🏀 🏀 🏀
GOAT
PERIOD
Periodt
Commentating from Marv Albert made this game that much more legendary to watch and hear as a kid
Gives me the chills still in 2020..
I was just about to say this but from 2022. Crowd was electric that night.
This is Jordan at his prime when he added his three point stroke.
This is why LeBron can never touch this man
Simply the 🐐
i watch this final when i was teenager in France . wake up to 5 AM lol
I remember watching this game and being in absolute amazement
A master in a masterpiece of a game that mj gave
Thats what MJ would do, if someone says he's not as good at (such and such) he does it, over and over, just to point out he CAN.
That's why he is the G.O.A.T.
91-93 was Jordan at his apex. His performances in those three finals are unmatched.
Develop a midrange jumpshot and play defense and you will be a great player in the NBA. MJ's midrange game is more beautiful than his dunks. Simply amazing.
Can’t imagine what was going through Portland players minds while MJ was doing all this
He ate their heart on the spot, as the Drexler's airball proves.
Even though they had a great reaction in game 2 and in general in all the series
25 years today
Sumthn else LBJ never did 😄 35 points in a half in a finals GM ! Amazing
No matter what debate comes up ....This is the Goat of Basketball .....No can defend him they try hard but he will always find a way....respect to kobe for saying that the only one who can beat him is the one who take that final shot in 1998 NBA finals...
Bra like Jordan owned the finals he would bully every team in the finals 🤐
oh man. Watching this, he would destroy lebron, absolutely own him. No comparison, none. Embiid has no motivation, Lebron isn't far off that. Nothing like Mike. Once in a lifetime, or even just once ever.
He is so good
He was making shots with his eyes closed too! He was in the MJ Zone!
That's another reason why he's the Greatest Of All Time!
The Blazers started this game looking good....but then Michael Jordan.
Only game 1 and he's making a statement already.
My all time favorite Bulls team ever
If Jordan wanted to be a passer and shoot more three's he could of done that because they didn't shoot many 3 s like now
You should "have" taken basic grammar lessons
But they shoot too many 3s now, partly cause of poor developed mid range & post up games, partly cause of analytics gone mad, partly cause of poor defense & lack of hand checking, partly cause of the allowance of zone defense (they played it back then some too, but it was blatant), partly cause of lack of coaching, partly cause of not enough of true point guards, partly cause of lack of patience by today's generation; I know I'm missing some reasons, but those are just I can think off the top of my head right now.
Portland was like Holy Crap Michael is giving us a taste of our own medicine 3 pointers !
It was all because someone said Drexler was a better 3 point shooter than MJ. All it took was that one slight against him and he made it a point to destroy the Blazers from deep in the first half. He's in game one of the NBA Finals and he's not only competing against the Blazers, he's competing against some person who made a remark he didn't like. The guy's competitiveness was on an entirely different level.
Everything they say about him..i promise I now remember why I wanted to play basketball
Michael Jordan held himself to such a high standard. That his skills impressed everyone who saw him play. This is the one time I think he even impressed himself.
MJ was feeling it. 😎
I remember watching this live with my father. He just kept sinking 3’s. We were in awe.
Marv Albert makes everything better when he says yes!!
This may not stand out as much as it should to younger people: Jordan was a paint guy for so long. He didn't really have a 3 shot. It was like he developed it in secret and then UNLEASHED on Portland--like a secret weapon.
Well, don't say that. Don't mislead the kids, we wanna be accurate. Mike shot 245 reg season 3s the year before his 1st chip, compared to 100 3s the year he took on Blazers in the finals. So Mike was already displaying his 3pt shooting ability. It was just fascinating how he went out game 1 and conducted his own 3pt shooting contest during a finals game.
Michael Happy 58th Birthday!
Legendary goat status. There will never be another like him. Was born to do one thing. Ball
Impressionante......un alieno!!!!!
I remember that day! That was One the Hardest Times, "I" ever Cheered, about/for Michael Jordan & The Bulls, in my Entire life! ♥️🤜🏽🤛🏽☝🏽👍🏽👍🏽🏀🏀🏀
As remarkable as this is watching it like this still - watching this when it was actually happening is something only folks from my generation can feel the sensation is something that can never be captured again
Facts! I was 16 I remember having the TV so loud like I was there. I was going crazy with each shot and feeling the energy from that game. I called my dad and said " can you believe this!!!! can you believe this!!??" Wow. What a moment in time...
Que gran performance de Michael Jordan, clavadas espectaculares, asistencias, rebotes, tiros de 3 puntos, robos , sin duda el mejor !!!!!!!!!
GOAT!!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jordans 3 in ainges face was like "playtimes over ".
I still watch this from time to time, and now it’s April of 2023. I was traveling all the time for work when this happened, and while I don’t remember where I was, I remember being in my hotel room watching the game. I also remember jumping up and down on the bed when he hit that 6th three. I’m a Charlotte native, and I’ve followed him since he was recruited by UNC. I even met him once at the “original” Charlotte Coliseum, which is now Bojangles Arena. What memories…
2:08 OMG
Hey LeBron this is how you make a statement for the finals
lol the threes jordan made were uncontested
@@Amoun007 don't matter

Lebron could never...... That fastbreak pull up jumper, was filthy!!!
Man this was the best era in basketball even basketball is boring like to watch a little nowadays
Portland were daring him to shoot LMFAO
Clyde and mike where the 2 best guards in the game at this time. Mike made a huge separation between the two.
God bless Portland ... thank you ... forever ... for taking Bowie.

Every LeBron fan who says he's GOAT should watch this video!
Hunttu This Is My Favorite Year By Jordan... BUT LeBron Still The GOAT.
AstroTooCold Both Jordan and Lebron are arguably the GOAT but is stupid to compare two different player from different eras so just shup up and enjoy watching their plays.
@@MXRVINBXNKZ ur outta ur fuckin mind. Lebronze has lost how many finals series now? Lol and got swept b4. Jordan wouldn't allow shit like that. Lebums name don't belong in the same sentence as Jordans. Ur entitled to ur opinion tho. Here's my opinion tho...I'd go see a psych doctor cuz u gotta be outta ur mind.
David Gurganus clowns like you are the reason this generation doesn’t respect Jordan as much as they should. Calling someone down to the dirt then saying “you’re entitled to your opinion tho” You idiots act like Jordan never lost a game in his career. You’ll never see a Jordan fan bring up his record against Larry bird. Or his record in the 1st round lol. It’s a hell of a lot harder to make the finals then it is to make the 1st round
David Gurganus Lebron goes up against guys like Kevin Durant who is 7ft and can shoot the lights out. Giannis who is a freak of nature. Jordan was beating Patrick Ewing who couldn’t shoot it outside 10 feet
Someone made a comment about this Portland team being a weak team , Really ?
Weak ? jajajaj for some reason they are in the Finals ,, they were killing teams in the west, they were just feeling the pressure of being in the Finals against Jordan and the Bulls, If Jordan didn't have the performance he had in this game.....don't you think the game would have been closer and more competitive ?
That Portland Trail Blazers team was far from weak. As a matter of fact, the Blazers teams from 1989-90 to 1991-92 had a run of being in the NBA Finals two of those three years (Lakers beat em in the '91 Western Conference Finals). They just had the misfortune of playing a couple of teams who were just better.
The person that told u that needs to be drug tested
The Blazers had reached the finals twice in three years, far from weak.
So this was the shrug game. Did not remember Jordan setting and setting again, the record for 3's in a half in the finals. Wow. I remember watching this series in Oregon, at my friend's grandpa's house. Just EPIC.
There is no debate period
3:08 that look MJ gives Ainge before blowing past him and leaving him for dust
I miss MJ plays it is really electrifying that you don't want to pee cause you do not want to miss MJ defense and offense highlights!
Wouah je me rappel avoir était comme un fou dans mon fauteuil ce jour la 😵 qu'elle performance de MJ dieux du basket..
MJ didn't even come close to most 3s in a finals game or any NbA game for that matter and still has one of the most iconic moments in finals history with the game being named after a gesture he made. What a legend!
He had the most complete game in the history of the NBA. Dude could kill you from anywhere on the court.
The fact that back in 92 the record for most 3pts in a half was 4 just shows you how the game is different now
Finals Record. And with all due respect, today's game is soft. All shooting. This bulls team would destroy these guys today. If Jordan wanted to he would have been one of the best 3 pt shooters of all time. He just didn't need to be. Jordans talent and will were limitless
Just like an orchestra...
The GOAT being the GOAT.
People forget how lethal this team was. Lethal. Six titles in eight seasons. Never even got to a Game 7 in any of their finals. Not as deep as the '80s Celtics and Lakers, but all of them were better than any team LeBron has captained.
Remember this like it was yesterday. Just moved to Oregon from California and my class was all Rip City for this series. Then the comments of MJ not able to shoot 3’s came and well he proved otherwise. I was cheering for Portland to win but there was no stopping that man.
The G.o.a.t. point blank
That Jordan and Drexler matchup 🔥

2:10 you’ll NEVER see LeBron make a move like that. LBJ is ELITE but man, MJ is in a class of his own
5 consecutive threes back in the day = 20 consecutive threes today.
1 possession = 4 possessions

I'm from another generation than today's Lebron's worshipers. I hated basketball with a passion but I LOVED watching MJ play. He had the style, the grace and charisma to make people who hated the sport want to watch. I can't say that about Lebron. I watch him and I'm like, eh, ok. Watching MJ was like watching molten gold pour into a mold. People say the same about people like Tiger Woods or Usain Bolt. The sport may bore you but they don't. THAT'S what's invaluable.
RIP Cliff Robinson and Jerome Kersey
