    People who think Jordan couldn't shoot threes in today's game need to check this out. It was a different game then, people didn't take nearly as many 3s (no one did) because it's a lower percentage shot. But he could hit 3s just fine, and he could get hot from that range just like anywhere else. And people discount his mentality and work ethic. If Michael were playing today and 3s had to be a big part of his game, he'd be working on 3s until he dropped, making sure he was a great 3 point shooter. That's how he operated. He made sure he could do whatever he needed to do to win. Period.

      Exactly. The rules of today are in place to showcase the league's guards, b/c that's where the best talent lies right now. Hence the emphasis on perimeter play. But back then, there a lot of great post players and slashers, so the league emphasized that. People don't understand that the league tweaks the rules a little every year to get the best possible product on the court. Things change all the time.

      Shooting 3s isn't some arcane skill that only a select few can master, as evidenced by how many shooters there are in today's game. Brook Lopez, Paul Millsap and Serge Ibaka started out as guys who didn't even have jumpshots and now all of them shoot 3s.
      It's much harder to master the midrange and post game.

      He was actually an average 3-point shooter for his era. With more practice, he likely would’ve been better. I just can’t accept when some so-called experts say he was a bad 3-point shooter. It’s factually untrue.

      the 1997 bulls with brian williams/bison dele were the best team in history. The 1996 bulls just won more games (largely because rodman missed like 30 games...among others who missed good chunks of the season).
      It would go 97, 96 and then 92.

    This was the time they were trying to compare Drexler to Jordan, which he took offense to. He didn't just silence that comparison, he decimated Drexler, complete domination, had Drexler looking like a rookie, turning the ball over and getting beat like crazy, with only half his usual scoring average. How dare you, said Jordan.

    • @gitara2D
      @gitara2D Год назад

      Or it was pure luck. If you see 3 point shooting Draxler hit 15% and Jordan 43%. Thats super unlucky for Drexler and super lucky for Jordan. Normaly both of them hit like 33%.

    • @poocrayon4588
      @poocrayon4588 Год назад

      @@gitara2D It was because Portland played a defense which would collapse on the paint scorer (as they had big athletic guys who could spring in and affect shots like Drexler and Robinson. When the defence collapse it would always leave someone open on the 3 line - which usually didnt matter to much int those days but did here. Wouldnt be a suprise if Chicago practiced 3 shooting specifically for this game. Portland stopped leaving Jordan open like that in the other games.

    Those who think that Jordan wasn't the GOAT need to watch this and other videos like it. I have no idea how anyone can think that Jordan isn't the GOAT or that the players in today's (W)NBA are as good/better than him! He didn't have to have the other great players of that era form a super-team with him to win, he didn't have to go and join a ready-made team that won 73 games the year before (and beat him in the playoffs) to win titles. He never quit a Finals game because it was too hot in the arena. Hell, he scored 35+ on the road in the finals with food poisoning! But that's the difference between today's generation who don't want to work for anything and Jordan's generation when the players were tough! There was no taking the night off for "rest" lol. There are players in today's (W)NBA that couldn't get off a shot back in the 80s and 90s with the hand-checking and hard fouls! Plus, there were REAL centers protecting the rim! I'd love to watch today's crybaby wimps try and make it through a 7 game series with Detroit's Bad Boys or Riley's Knicks of 1991-1994.
