Yes, especially the 2012-2014 models with LSD. I drive the 2014 GS350 and there is something about Lexus vehicles, you have to drive one to understand the feeling.
I’m currently saving up for an 2016 / 2017 Lexus GS450h and I will only drive it on the summer times and leave it in the garage on winter times, It’s so sad that the GS is discontinued, I love the GS❤
2016 GS-F had fixed Sachs dampers, 2017 and up has AVS. Also the GS chassis is far superior to the IS chassis. I love both cars. Either way you can't go wrong in my opinion. I picked up a 2016 GSF for cheap because someone didn't love it in its previous life. I've been slowly fixing it up to daily drive. I just sold my 2015 Crafted Line LS 460 Fsport. It was mint but I kinda got a little bored with it. The GSF definitely scratches that performance itch.
@ozhoneybadger They had color swapped it to white and put a bunch of dumb black wrap all over it. This would have been fine if they hadn't forgotten to reinstall a bunch of gaskets and moldings all around the car and hung the doors and fenders correctly. This and they had routed a bunch of hoses wrong under the hood and installed the wrong spark plugs. There was about 12 dents in it all over the place. The tires were junk, the left rear door panel was not on right, there was a few wiring issues in the car. I don't know who the previous owner was, but they were ignorant. Needless to say I've fixed all of it including re painting some of the car. I paint corrected the rest of it. It's good to go now. And no, not all Lexus owners take care of their cars. You can say that about any brand.
Installed a JoeZ catback exhaust on my 16' GSF a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, its exactly what the car was missing! Sounded way too tame from factory, the intake/induction noise was louder.
As a previous owner of a GSF. The IS500 is not a replacement for a proper F product. It lacks proper cooling systems, suspension components, and steering refinement for track use or heavy spirted canyon driving. A GSF costs more than a IS500 because it is a superior sport sedan when taken to the limits. Obviously most people are not taking IS500/LC500 to their limits so that doesn’t matter. Either way I agree with the rest of your points but I wouldn’t recommend buying a LC500 or Is500 over a F. Then again I traded my GSF for a M3CS so I am biased towards sport/track sedans than comfort.
Exactly if you wanted limit performance just get a 911 GT3 not a 4 door luxury car. So many fail to understand this concept if you want a track car you just buy a track car. The track is just good marketing for these luxury sedans. Means nothing on the street.
The problem is the usage. We cannot know what the original owner did to the car. I cannot trust that, a 60 grand + for a used car is too much even though it's a solid car. And once the warranty expires and it gets issues the V8 work will be higher. So the newer IS 500 is the only choice left for buyers who want a first hand experience of a Lexus. The new IS is not a joke either, the V8 version gets Engine Oil cooling, the reinforcement for the Front suspension system and the Yamaha Performance Dampers in the rear, also an option of BBS Forged, although I like the Enkei ones which are stock. Plus the same transmission used in GS F / IS F. Finally the Redline is 7100RPM. Yea the leather is gone, rear space is limited and lack of other things like TVD but it's the only car left in the market which is a 4 Door and has a V8.
One of the things that is really going to make these cars future collectibles: Only about 2400 made over 5 years for the North American market. 400+ already salvage title, and over half of the "clean title" ones already have accidents on them. In 2024, there are already a dozen or so over 200k miles. As Doug Demuro once said: "The GSF is a terrible new car, but a fantastic used one"
Great review! I'm on my second GS (went from a 2013 to a 2016), and I can't even imagine how awesome the F would be. I'm itching for an upgrade soon, but I will probably end up going for one of the last great V8 LS models since these F's don't show any signs of becoming more affordable anytime soon.
If you can’t find a good deal on a GS F, the closest thing might be a last gen LS 460 F Sport with the slightly smaller 4.6L 1UR but with 6 piston brembos in the front, Torsen LSD, forged BBS wheels, variable gear ratio steering and air suspension. You can find decent used examples for around $25k. I got one recently and it’s miles ahead of the 2007 LS 460 I had that was a total boat. It’s not a full F model but it’s closer than other F sports models.
Ooo hey, perfect video for me since I bought a 2016 GSF through my work this year. Finally tuned/did the intake this week! Still waiting on my wrap as it’s backordered until after Christmas and my RR racing Bazooka exhaust won’t be finished being made until mid January.
@@MeynMotorGroup I was originally anti GSF due to the mousepad infotainment controls over the trac pad in the Lc500 and LS500 I tested. I still want a LC500 but needed 4dr and space as a daily. The fact I live in vegas if I ever win some big jackpot then I would put the LC500 convertible as a possible 3rd car option. Overall the vehicle has been superb and even had a little street race cat n mouse game with a C7 corvette just 3 days ago. Car can get a little squirrelly when launching off the line in expert mode, guess I got so used to having AWD cars.
@@MeynMotorGroup I could not afford the last of them. But was able to get one of the few GS F sport Blacklines. Definitely a keeper. The GS is a great vehicle Nice review 👍
I’ve been eyeing this to replace my 07 GS350 but damn these prices for this car is borderline insane and my 350 is quite a quick already and seems the 6 Speed auto is worlds better programmed than Lexus’s 8 Speed. And 0-60 for GS350 in 07-11 era was 5.7 sec.
The same way you all feel about your GSF, is exactly how I feel about my IS F.... It's a bit shocking for a Lexus is what they tell me. The IS F is such a sleeper and really unexpected to those who don't know.
It's a Lexus if I have the $$$ definitely my first choice over BMW or Audi.. built the right. and reliable. another reason why they are expensive used.
@@MeynMotorGroup Kind of unrelated but I think the LS would have much closer sales numbers to the Genesis if they left the V8 in the car!! I think the 5litre would be a perfect match!! And it's not to late, try it and see what happens!!!!!
Was going to get one but decided to go german. End up getting a amg cls 53, heck from factory the exhaust has pops and crackles. Nothing compares to a german car. Thats coming from someone who only owned japanese cars. Currently still have a 08 lexus gs460.
I have to admit, CLS 53 is pretty phenomenal has a ton of character and does indeed sound great from factory. Chassis is excellent, you did a great job with that car. BMW & Audi can’t match the Mercedes character when driving only problem with Benz is they are so damn expensive. If you got the funds tho, I would go Benz too.
@@MeynMotorGroup the car looks great and the interior is a plus. Lexus was is so behind on that department. It made my choice easy. Puts a smile on my face when in sports plus mode and i full send it.
Ground clearance is good. Howveee front bumper hangs quite forward compared to hub of wheels. So steeper driveways are an issue even at stock height. Hence why I’m on air bag suspension.
Very timely video, I’ve started to look at these. Do you have a Indy Lexus Shop you like in the Triangle area for PPIs? I’m over by chapel hill. Johnson lexus had a CPO one, didn’t even last a week.
This time I disagree with you 100%, the GSF is a completely different car than the is500, even though the engine is same, many other things are very different.
Well I just don’t think it’s worth it to most people to pay $10k more for a 3 year old car that has some additional cooling bits for the transmission. What most people do want is that engine of course, a new car with a warranty, and all the updated tech and interior which is what the IS 500 offers in this current market. Please keep in mind the current market conditions.
@@MeynMotorGroup The GSF was made to also be an all day track car without question, the is500 simply is not. Just because you wouldn't pay extra doesn't mean others wouldn't. Also the GSF is a much more roomy car for everyday use, you failed to mention that part.
@@samaccurso do you take your 4 door heated seat luxury car to the track? If so great but nobody does that. Please understand the “track” is a marketing gimmick to make a good ad to sell cars. This is not a race car. The only track a GS F is going to see is the Starbucks drive thru. Many like to pretend like they are track day hardasses but if that’s the case, why not just get a real race car like an Ariel atom? Or better yet just get a motorcycle. Reality my friend is much more important to me than the fantasy of taking a luxury barge to a track. The GS F has .6 inches more legroom than the IS 500. The GS F does have a significantly larger trunk however than the IS 500 at 14 cubic ft vs 10.5 cubic feet. God Bless my friend and I hope you and your family have a phenomenal 2023!
@@MeynMotorGroup It's more than extra cooling bits man.. GS F design and development were headed up by Yukihiko Yaguchi. This actually means things. Additionally, the suspension bits. The chassis bracing. The track testing. As opposed to stuffing a V8 into an otherwise stock, entry level luxury compact sedan.
Yes Mr. Peter but I guess my point is, just how much of that matter for street driving. A Porsche 911 is infinitely more capable than any Lexus car however a Porsche isn’t necessarily more fun to drive on a street because of this. The F cars and LC are satisfactory on street for it’s organic and natural driving feel plus engine. Not because of the specs because any Euro turd would spank these Lexus cars. It’s hard concept to convey hopefully you understand. GS F is great and pedigree is cool but I think of things more so from the financial/pragmatic perspective
Is there a video anywhere of you driving a GSF? Couldn't see one on your channel would love to watch you do a test drive. Current owner of a 2014 GS F-Sport and working towards achieving my dream of owning a GSF!
No unfortunately I never got to do a review of the GS F I only drove one at a dealership after I sold my LC, thought about buying the GS F but ended up not getting it bought a new Challenger Scat Pack manual then I flipped it. However, I did get an RC F press car for a week and I filmed my driving thoughts on that car feels pretty similar to the GS F but the RC F feels a bit more snappy then the GS F due to the shorter wheelbase.
Florida Fine Cars in Miami FL has a nice 2019 10th anniversary with only 30k miles for sale at 63k not bad for 1 of 100 units. Very unique car to get if you are into GSF
My issue with most Lexus models (past and present) is that they tend to have awkward or overdone exteriors and interiors. Only exceptions are/were the 1st gen LS and SC and currently the LC. Regarding the current IS I don’t think it’s possible to spec real leather anymore - only the fake stuff. Another dealbreaker for me.
Right before covid gsf's were becoming a hot bargain then they shot back up (don't entirely know why or who's shooting up the price🤔), now it just doesn't make sense to buy, you can just get a scatpack or like you said a lc/is500 if you really need a lexus v8
Yea people think I don’t like these cars but that’s not true it’s just that in this current market it doesn’t make sense to buy and it’s getting older as the years go by. Still an epic car tho and def made sense pre pandemic
Can you explain again or link to the video that shows how to use the vin of a Lexus to see what maintenance has been done during the life of the car please?
Just Go to the Lexus drivers website it should pop up in google. Make an account and enter the vin of the car you’re thinking of buying as your own car so you can see the history
As far as I can tell, Lexus took this feature away recently. You can always pay for Carfax to get a report. Or if your mechanic has Carfax they can look it up for you.
Man I really want this thing 😮💨 I have a really clean 2011 GS with 120k, if the right offer came about I'd sell it in a heartbeat to get the GSF. But, then I think about the current car market 🗑
Yea some people mistook me for not liking this car, what people failed to understand was the GS F simply does not make any sense to buy as a used car right now. Paying $45k for it 3 years ago with like 25k miles fine that was ok and exactly what this car and experience was worth. However now, for the $45k that car is 6 years old with double maybe even more miles than that and it’s not worth it at that point and def isn’t worth spending $70k+ for. And regardless of what some people say in the comments, 90% of this experience can be had in a GS 350 F Sport RWD. If you buy an F car you have to put an exhaust on it. This is why in this market I only recommend the IS 500 F Peromance new or an LC 500. LC feels vastly superior to all of these cars
@@MeynMotorGroup I do have the 2015 is250 as well, but that is250 always sitting in the garage. The RCF is perfect for any purpose to drive, i brought the RCF to track when it was 126k mileage. Now is my daily + delivery car.😂 (putting 200+ miles per day) Also, I wish you could do more and more used high mileage vehicle review in the future. Definitely stick with your channel. 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great car. However after test driving it I was unimpressed with the power output. It sounded like you going fast but you weren’t. At the time I owned a 2013 LS 460 L and it was the same issue. My 2017 Mercedes Benz S550 cabriolet 4.7 liter is much faster due to the 517 ft pounds of torque.
Yup I love these things to but the price in these markets just doesn’t make sense. To everyone that bought a clean mint one pre pandemic for like $45k, they did great
They're still 70k in the used market because people are willing to pay that. Which is evidenced by all the (apparently insanely wealthy) commenters talking about how they just got one.
They didn’t just get one they got them when they were 45k 3 years ago with low miles which is exactly what it’s worth and that’s really all this experience is worth. Buy an LC if you want a proper V8 experience that’s worth paying over $70k for.
I hate that they so expensive cause I want a gsf my big brother bought his 2013 isf back in 2015 he spent 50k on that thing im they sure do hold value but dag gum
GSF>Is500.also LC500 is nothing like GSF, yes it has the same engine but does not drives as well but yes it looked much more exotic. Lc500 is a GT car. meanwhile GSF is track ready with 4 doors. In the end you can't go wrong with either of those. I wish they Brought back the ISF; Is500 you can some of the goodies but its missing good brakes, trans cooler etc
I want one but for a used still 50k to 70k in the market like my brother got a 2013 isF for 45k literally to much for a used car kno I understand that they hold value very well but dag gum
You do get forged wheels and big brakes. The rest is up to you on how important they are when bending corners at Starbucks and if that’s worth paying $9k more for something that’s 3 years old with miles and no warranty then by all means my friend enjoy your TVD. I’m going to be talking about the same things in the RC vid I’m about to post
question?..............looking for a titanium burnt tip exhaust with a deep sound............other than Toms....any suggestions and prices.....THANK YOU............2018
Isn't the IS500 much smaller inside though? I'm 6'5" and always assumed the IS / ES was for the wife and the GS / LS was for the larger dudes. Even when the IS first launched, it seemed to be marketed toward the ladies. I never see a large man getting out of an IS.
The challenge with the is500 is that is doesn't have the same large brakes, trans and oil cooler as the gs f or rc f. It is, however, incredibly nimble. I wish I could understand why most folks dislike the rc f. I found it to be a fantastic car. I bought mine with 60k miles, full bolt on, tune, etc for $48,500. Essentially $37k for the car with 11,500 in parts without having to pay for install, taxes, and shipping on those parts. I got it since GS f prices are ridiculous still. I love the rc but I still want the GS.
@@MeynMotorGroup thanks for the link. I actually track my rc and it's wonderful with the correct modifications. My point was, in regards to all of the other reviews I've seen since the car came out. It seems to be the redheaded step child for a lot of these reviewers even when new. You're right though, I wouldn't pay more than $40k for a stock version with low miles. Your videos are really well done.
Yes but is that really worth paying $10k more for a car that’s 3 years old and out of warranty especially when most can’t even tell the difference? Idk as much as I like the F cars I wouldn’t pay for it in this market. For the many people who commented saying they picked up a mint condition F car pre pandemic for under $50k, they got in at the right price. But can’t recommend these cars at the current prices.
@@gray3949 an LC isn’t an F car and certainly doesn’t come with a TVD or little transmission coolers but it’s by far the car that I prefer to all of the F cars in question.. I wonder maybe that’s because there is more to cars than just specs 🤪
wow i didnt know all those facts about this car!!! one thing that i truly know was that this is one hack of ugly looking grocery getter car for sure!!!
I owned the RC-F variant of the 2URGSE and it was a brilliant motor, albeit the car was quite heavy. I'd love to find a decently priced GS-F with moderate miles to use as a Daily. The sound as the tach eclipses 7300 Redline is marvelous! I just wish they weren't quite as heavy, or had even a form of F/I on board. It's a sad time that Toyota isn't giving fans/enthusiasts more tastes of the great 2URGSE in other forms (ES-F!!) One can dream! Great vid with information that makes this motor/design quite genius. These true F series cars are marvels with ability to dawn that "wolf in sheep's clothing" look. They appear unassuming, but can truly "wake up" when the driver wants something less sedate on their mundane daily drives into work, or play.

Thats a Real Gentleman’s Sedan, absolutely funky & lovely at the same time.
Yea it’s pretty sweet for sure
Bought my 2017 back in October with 28,000 miles on it and loving it! I came out of a 2014 GS 350 F-Sport and it’s a totally different ball game.
Massive congrats! It’s such a cool sedan
That's exactly what I'm trying to do. Same model as your old car but the used market is still insane for the GSF at the moment…

What are some of the pro / cons of GSF compared to the GS 350. I own a GS F sport and really want to get the GSF
From South Africa.
We didn't get this model this side but, I drove the ISF and they say it's similar. This 5.0L is wonderful
Yea IS F captures the same essence as the new F cars it was great
Yes, especially the 2012-2014 models with LSD.
I drive the 2014 GS350 and there is something about Lexus vehicles, you have to drive one to understand the feeling.
@@brian7523 absolutley most don’t get it and probably never will but Lexus makes some excellent driving products that mainstream reviewers don’t get
I’m currently saving up for an 2016 / 2017 Lexus GS450h and I will only drive it on the summer times and leave it in the garage on winter times, It’s so sad that the GS is discontinued, I love the GS❤
What did they break on the GSF. I thought Lexus owners took care of their car. Clearly not
@ozhoneybadger They had color swapped it to white and put a bunch of dumb black wrap all over it.
Crazy. Especially with the sparks and hoses. Hows it driving now? You gonna sell it? @@maxcurry9667
Installed a JoeZ catback exhaust on my 16' GSF a few weeks ago, and let me tell you, its exactly what the car was missing! Sounded way too tame from factory, the intake/induction noise was louder.
Well done my friend yea these cars are epic with an exhaust enjoy!
How much is the Catback exhaust for the gsf?
I had one, 2016-2019. Great car. Wish I kept it
This 5.0l motor sounded so good ❤
Needs an exhaust but yea it’s good
If you can’t find a good deal on a GS F, the closest thing might be a last gen LS 460 F Sport with the slightly smaller 4.6L 1UR but with 6 piston brembos in the front, Torsen LSD, forged BBS wheels, variable gear ratio steering and air suspension. You can find decent used examples for around $25k.
I got one recently and it’s miles ahead of the 2007 LS 460 I had that was a total boat.
It’s not a full F model but it’s closer than other F sports models.
2013 GS Fsport owner here & this review is solid. GSF is next on my list!
Ooo hey, perfect video for me since I bought a 2016 GSF through my work this year. Finally tuned/did the intake this week! Still waiting on my wrap as it’s backordered until after Christmas and my RR racing Bazooka exhaust won’t be finished being made until mid January.

F stands for Fuji 🔥🔥🔥🤟🏾🤟🏾🤟🏾
Yes it does!
Yea you’re right for an anniversary car that’s not bad who knows maybe they will come down even more if it’s been on the lot for a while
Still love my GS. Might have to check out an LC next
Yea def a try and test drive an LC if you can get a chance but the F cars are great too just needs an exhaust
I love the spindle cars they look so aggressive and unique
@@MeynMotorGroup I will say the post refresh previous gen IS looked pretty hot. Never warmed up to the interior design though.

My RCF now 140k miles still going strong besides the sunroof rattling when driving.😂😂😂

Well to be fair you can get a ls 500 and have more reliability four doors better gas mileage and have basically them same 0-60 time
I want one, and would be happy with it. That used price though.

But the gsf has more interior room, plus with the dealer mark up on the is500 it’s about or even more that a used gsf..
.6” more legroom and just use an auto broker and a bit of googling to not pay a markup
on the IS500 you don't get the Sport Seats, Big Brembo brakes, TVD, Forged BBS wheels etc....

Isn't the IS500 much smaller inside though? I'm 6'5" and always assumed the IS / ES was for the wife and the GS / LS was for the larger dudes. Even when the IS first launched, it seemed to be marketed toward the ladies. I never see a large man getting out of an IS.

I owned the RC-F variant of the 2URGSE and it was a brilliant motor, albeit the car was quite heavy. I'd love to find a decently priced GS-F with moderate miles to use as a Daily.
