Toronto, a city larger than Chicago, consistently ranks among the most livable cities in the world, always ranking in the top 10 alongside Tokyo.
New York, Los Angeles, Chicago didn't even make the top 50.

Many smaller cities in Canada are more liveable in some key aspects than Toronto so many Canadians tend to ignore those rankings, despite being impressive nonetheless.

@@LeafsNet2 Yes it is more difficult to govern obviously, that wasn't my point. Toronto does an excellent job in that regard. I thought we were talking about livability, not only excellence in governance. There are many cities in Canada that have certain aspects that are incredible, which they may surpass Toronto in and, depending on the person, that will make that city more liveable for them. That was why I said many Canadians may be indifferent about the ranking because they find their city more preferable. It doesn't take away from Toronto whatsoever, I was just mentioning why some Canadians may be content where they live and won't be afraid to give Toronto some jabs haha.

I think because of how unaffortable and unsafe our public transit and the city has gotten, basically construction everywhere, congestion, our political leaders, housing crisis, too many immigrants, homelessness and tents elsewhere(mostly in parks) and ofcourse the famous most delayed eglinton crosstown. Honestly to me it just makes me mad people love to make toxic comments about how "shithole" it really is when in reality it's still a beautiful city with a strong culture. I think people just think about the negativity as an excuse. But for me, I have hopes for this city to get better in the near future.
Sorry, but Olivia Chow was just elected mayor of your precious toronto. So I think it's only more likely now that toronto is only going to get much worse for the next few years. Expect housing prices to skyrocket even more along with interest rates and retirements. And alot more government waste. For example, chow is willing to spend 12 million dollars to change the name of Dundas st, while simultaneously saying that the city is broke. If you live in toronto and your not already comfortably wealthy, I'd advise you get out of that city before it drains your bank account dry with excessive taxation and overbloated beurocracies.

People don't hate Toronto the city or the Raptors or the Jays. People hate the leafs and they hate them for two reasons. 1st is the ridiculously inflated amount of media coverage they get. 2nd is the fanbase

I don’t hate Toronto as a city I hate the fact that all your coverage is based on the leafs the Flames have the best chance as a Canadian team of going the furthest in the finals and all you guys talk about is if your gonna get past the first round. I have no problem with the Jays and raptors they are the only Canadian team in those sports and there is so much bias against them from their respective leagues. I would rather watch the highlights of every Montreal or Ottawa loss than watch another highlight about Matthews.

Toronto believes they are the center of the universe and the greatest. all you have to do is watch TSN (Toronto Sports Network)
which will always show the toronto teams first, If they win they lead off with them. If you are from outside of Toronto you don't think like this at all.
Now i do support the Raptors and the Blue Jays as they are Canadian teams, but don't get me started on the Leafs, who will again this year, not get out of the first round of the playoffs. Last year the Montreal Canadiens were in the Stanley Cup Final and yet SN and TSN were still talking about the Leafs.
Because its WAY too expensive. Its WAY too crowded and even then, its BORING and basically a huge concrete and sky scraper jungle.
Its nice to visit for a day or two. But that is about it. Hotel prices aren't much more expensive than actual year-round rent... Go figure. Who can afford to live there AND have a life???
