TTD was so much better. Number 1 it only had lap bars. Number 2 I just think the overall theme is better - waiting on the launch track and watching the lights on the tower count down (especially after dark in the front row) is just awesome. Number 3 the view is better. Number 4 the song that played in the station (ready to go by republica) was a perfect fit. Just a great ride. Hopefully the reimagined version will be good but man I'm always gonna miss the old dragster
Both Kingda ka's acceleration and top speed is quite a bit more powerful than top thrill dragster, not more gradual. I dont understand how you think ka is more gradual but also somehow more intense and pushes you into your seat more.
Kingda Ka’s launch just feels less sudden to me, and it seems to take a longer amount of time to reach its top speed. It builds up to a higher to speed and intensity, but the point still stands. Everybody has different experiences on each roller coaster, and this is just what I get every time I ride Kingda Ka.

But everyone in your seat will experience the exact same amount of g-forces as you do. Kingda Ka has a stronger launch than dragster and there’s no debating it. It’s just a fact. IMO and this is probably going to come across as biased, but Kingda Ka wins for a few reasons. I’ve been on it, (I live in NJ) and the added bonus hill is a Plus 1. LOL

Most people who say Dragster is miles better are saying that 1. Because Dragster was the original 2. It’s at Cedar Point and there is such a bias to Cedar Point in any conversation And 3. They think that the Lap bar gives some more airtime that usually isn’t their because the train usually crawls over the top hat

This makes me feel better about not riding og Dragster. Every Enthusiast I've met has raved about how much better Dragster was than Ka. I went to cedar point the summer after it closed and watched it sit there. I've never been a major fan of Ka, (because I love long rides) but there is nothing quite like being in the bamboo forest waiting, and the closer you get the more you can hear the launch, and even see small parts of it peeking from behind the bamboo.
Neither are great coasters. They're just tall. The hydraulic launches are/were exhilarating and all, but it's over so quick. Never worth waiting more than an hour, which with TTD was always over. People hyping up the reimagined dragster as if that ride was that great to begin with. Idk always seemed like an expensive gimmick to me. If they were *that good* more would have been made despite the cost.
@@kaijohnson5033 top thrill dragster is a copycat of stealth at Thorpe Park, which is a copycat of Xcellerator at Knott's. It doesn't make a difference, they're all the same ride type. They each have their own merits and drawbacks.

I feel like since you’re really high up for a short amount of time, I don’t normally even notice the parking lot. I am more focused on the view of Philadelphia. Also I don’t mind parking lot coasters at all.

I like Kingda Ka Cause its 2 rides instead of just 1 and it perfectly times the drop.
The curve up on Ka is almost as intense as I305 first turn.

Well, this turned out to be kind of false. The launch is definitely not as intense, which kind of takes away from the whole point of the ride.

I never rode Dragster but if I did I think it would rank it in the same spot as Ka as they are pretty much the same ride.
They do have their similarities and are quite close in quality for me.

TTD is better simply because of the restraints. You don’t have much of anything to hold onto.
The restraints are better but they don’t push the ride above Ka for me.
i havent rode either sadly, ill be riding both hopefully next year which reimagined dragster will most likely beat out ka
