GAMERS.
Gimmie some other weird Wii Games.
Also look at that, 3 weeks in a row with a new video. I told you I'd be a gamer, dad.
MadWorld!
You're now a real video gamer son. Proud of you ❤️
Pandora's Tower!
Fortune Street would be cool, if you could round up some buddies.
Spectrobes Origins, its a weird ass monster taming action RPG on the wii that was pretty fun, sequel to the DS games you mightve seen commercials for if you watched any of disney's tv channels back in like 2007-09
As someone named David who feels guilt for not buying Wiinoa that kinda freaked me out.
You can still get it. The majority of the Wii Shop games were archived. You can still get Klonoa. For FREEEEEEEEEE!
I know right
@@DeevDaRabbit Klonoa was on disc. The Wii was made before the thought of consoles storing retail games on their hard drive was a reality.
@@calvinanderson4245 someone doesn't know what emulation is~
@@nobodyinparticular9640 Look up
Madworld and Muramasa: The Demon Blade are both games that are totally forgotten gems stuck on the Wii. If you haven't played Muramasa yet, all the art was done by the same guy that did Odin Sphere and Dragons Crown, prettiest Wii game IMO
actually muramasa was re-released on ps vita under the title, muramasa rebirth. it even has really awesome DLC for different playable characters and storylines. unfortunately the vita is forgotten even more than the wii is.
Muramasa Rebirth on Vita OLED screen is simply gorgeous
How the muramasa complete collection has yet to be released on at least the PS4 yet is beyond my comprehension.
I have Muramasa on PS VITA and I have Odin Sphere and Dragon’s Crown on PS4
Mad world did have a technical sequel. Anarchy Reigns for the Xbox 360.
you're wrong Austin. ska never died, it's just biding its time until chain wallets become cool again
Ska, like the Sloth, is simply waiting for its time to unleash its power.
Chain wallets will always be cool...
Chain wallets aint cool anymore? Shit, i still buy baggy jeans.
i feel like music trends tend to make a comeback later on, only much better than before. we will evolve.
I want a chain wallet now

@James Brincefield Okay I love Klonoa but that's gotta be a no from me. Crash Bandicoot is excellent especially 2 and the new 4 that just released, in fact Crash 4 is so good that it's probably in my top ten games. Also when playing a Crash game, do a 100%, unless you want it to feel like the 6/10 you just mentioned. (Even though I would have said 8/10 for a any%)
@James Brincefield This is the worst hot take I've ever stumbled across 😂
Luckily Klonoa might come back since namco listed it as “LIVE/Registration/Issued and Active.” and this was recently so we could get a remake collection
When you realized that bomberman had a switch sitting on his lap since the wii era
HOW IS THIS NOT THE TOP COMMENT
Mind blown!!!
Yes exactly!!!! Same setup and color too
Looks more like a gba that slides shut.
@@iciousvidElaborate please Please Elaborate
It's been a while since I've heard anyone mention Klonoa. I'd love to see a Spyro Reignited/Crash N.Sanity Trilogy treatment for first and second game.
Wish granted
Playing Klonoa with the game pad of my hacked Wii U is epic.
Mine is hacked too but how you play on wii u pad
@@sylvesterwallace6965
Search up “teconmoon's wiivc injector” and select the GBAtemp page.
Why would you want to do that, though? I could understand hacking the system so that Wii games can recognize the GCN controller adapter, but the gamepad?
@@otaking3582
The gamepad is basically a classic controller with a 480p screen on it so it’s my preferred way to play Wii games that support the classic controller.
I still have my copy of this game
The original Klanoa is available digitally on the PS3 store.
It's too bad Klonoa 2 was never available digitally. That was the best out of the series.
Aren't they shutting down the PS3 store next week?
The GBA games are also available on the Wii U eShop.
I'm more shocked that this is our best viable option
Antonio Soto no
Concept Redesign Klonoa be lookin like a Ty the Tasmanian Tiger character
"Mario Sports Mix doesn't really do anything interesting"
UM if I recall correctly, you fight a BAHAMUT.
As MARIO CHARACTERS
Had to look up who that was because it's been so long, and I don't remember
*looks at his copy of Klonoa Wii* I cared. I still care. I want more.
Platformers are making a comeback so fingers crossed someone is awesome enough to make a new Klonoa
@@nottoday9182 There's apparently a Klonoa Encore trademark that was made recently so.....Yeah. Hopefully.
@@FlareStriker excellent! I missed out on ps1 so I've been loving all the remakes, this is on my list
@Ultimategamer132 the world is a cruel mistress
*looks at his own copy* and nods back
Daisy is best Princess.
And Final Fantasy characters (and Slime) in a Mario game is super cool to see.
I'm alone with you Austin.
I'm with you bud I've had this opinion for years
I adore Black Mage's redesign in the SE Mario titles. And this was the time when I was getting into Final Fantasy, so seeing these characters was cool.
I'm with ya'. Daisy is best Princess and I wish we had a game about Princess White Mage. I LOVE that the boss battle at the end of the tournament is fighting The Light Warriors on an airship. It's best when you're doing 3 on 3 so you get the whole team of Ninja, Black Mage, and White Mage.
I don’t even like JRPGs, but I’ll take Final Fantasy characters over the filler that is the koopalongs and the babies.
Same
Someone else probably already mentioned it but in case nobody did, Klonoa 1 was ported to the Playstation store and is available for like $5. Klonoa 2 doesn't have a port which is incredibly depressing
I paid $22 for Klonoa 2
Boy do I have news for you.
Hey, does anyone remember when Klonoa was going to be turned into a animated movie?
I did, and I was sad when it was cancelled about two years later.
Edit: Oh shoot, I forgot to say another thing.
I LOVE Fragile Dreams!
Sly Cooper was suppose to have a movie too rip..
Here are some other less known games you need to check out/mention. They might have gotten other releases elsewhere but I consider these as primarily Wii games. Anything in bold I consider a must check out. (Source: Me, big fan of the Wii).

The sponsor segment alone is enough to like this video, truly the man of culture
Klonoa got done dirty and the world is a worse place without my furry cabbit boy.
There were some rumors of a remaster (along with some other classic Namco franchises) late last year but it's been quiet ever since...
IT'S REAL!!
Klonoas so good and pleaseee let that trademark from, like last year actually turn into a real release
I didn't discover him til the WiiU releases of the GBA games and Caddicarus's video on the first one, and when i got a copy of the Wii Remake i absolutely adored it. I desperately need some way to play Klonoa on modern consoles, specially 2 because I havent been able to play it
I just bought klonoa 2 on ebay in may. I owned it when it came out but stupidly sold it. It's a worthy sequel to the first game, very fun
If you got a decent compy, you should be able to easily emulate it.
How I wish Namco would effing remember that klonoa exist...
@@nobodyinparticular9640 my brain is too smooth for emulators beyond visual boy. Also same
Had a blast watching this! My fiance lives on the other side of the country, and we discovered in one of our discord conversations that we were watching this same video at the same time, which only heightened the delight as he screamed about arcsys and I screamed about Soken. The unity of games amirite
Mario Hoops 3 on 3 came out before Sports Mix, also made by Square, so they put the basketball gameplay from that in it
I can’t believe Bomberman Land predicted the Nintendo Switch.
I will remember Klonoa for the rest of my days. Its also creeping up in price and last time I checked over 50.
Klonoa is coming back. It's getting a remaster series is coming this July along with 2!
Did anyone else play Another Code R?? It was a visual novel, and honestly one of my favourite games of all time 😩💖
The Munchables to this day is one of my favorite games. Still have the same copy from when I was a kid.
The world NEEDS more Klonoa more than ever!!
I agree. It was apart of my childhood
HE BACK!!
OUR LORD AND SAVIOR HAS RETURNED!!! JOYOUS DAY!!
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No you are not alone. Well I never heard of the Wii version but I had the DS version. And I only played as the white Mage once I unlocked her.
Klonoa remake would've been a perfect fit for the 3ds.
God, I just want my little rabbit/dog/cat boi to return... Also apparently Klonoa’s language isn’t complete gibberish, certain words are actually translatable
Excitebots. Everyone likes truck better, which is also good. One of the things I like about Wii is you can go to a yard sale or something and scoop up a bunch of games cheap. Even if they suck, you spend a dollar.
I watch alot of different channels with youtubers who cover classic games and other nostalgic material. Just last week I was thinking, man... noone has mentioned Klonoa. Lo and behold, I find your channel and will now most definitely sub!
Not sure why, but this made me nostalgic for some PS2 oldies lol. Metropolismania and Magic Pengle: The Quest for Color are gems but I don't know anyone else who played them.
Man, Austin, how dare you have the chance to show us how the heck a slime can play basketball and not take it? HOW DARE YOU?!?
8:06 the bomb pad is like a Nintendo Switch with gamecube controllers, just awesome.
In Amazon joycon with GameCube buttons are available.
Mario Sports Mix is actually my one favorite wii games of all time also thanks to you ima buy klanoa for the wii as my first in the series
Arc Rise is such a good game, crappy voice acting included. Maybe it’s just me but when I hear bad- slightly decent voice acting I find it so charming
Bold of you to assume basketball was real to begin with
I respectfully disagree about Klonoa 1 Remake.
Sure it's a good-to-decent platformer on its own, but it's not a good remake of PS1 original. The charm is gone and the gamefeel is off.
Klonoa's dub voice sucks too. He's supposed to be 12, not 22
@@dcb99filmz For your specific complaint .... There was an option to change to Klonoa's language....
I disagree as someone who played to completion only the Wii (yes I've played the PS1 original). And I understand where you coming from but the point of a remake is not to just throw you back into the year the game was made, the point is to introduce an old title to new people AND utilize newer technology to enhance the original. The point of a remake is not to be objectively better than the original, it's suppose to be kinda like a look into an old title through new lenses and bring it to the latest console. And in MY opinion (before you freak out) it did exactly all that, and it managed to make me love Klonoa even more.
@@ameladaptivedaydreamer949 I know and I prefer the original Phantomilian voices.
I'm shocked to discover that Wii version is apereantly going for hundreds...
funny i got mine last month for 7$ CIB, i'm trully lucky
Klonoa had a very underappreciated legacy, series got canceled handful of times and is still stuck to being in cameo land.
Klonoa is the series that I constantly hear about yet never have a convenient way to actually play it beyond emulation which is not my preference.
Klonoa for the wii is a great game, I recommend everyone to check it out if you haven't.
If you really liked the basketball aspects of Sports Mix, I've always felt Square did it better with Mario Hoops 3 on 3.
As soon as the word "Munchables" came out of his mouth I screamed. Best wii game ever
I mark out every time Austin chucks in a wrestling reference right next to JRPGs. I am alone, where that Venn diagram intersects.
Didn't expect to find a Guilty Gear Reference here ! You earned yourself a suscriber good sir !!
Yes someone finally acknowledges my favorite game and all of it's shitty voice acting! You sire have earned a subscription (Even though I subscribed before actually watching the full video but don't think about it too much)
Majesco was HIGHLY prevalent during the Wii era. Even put out some decent games like Blast Works and A Boy and his Blob
the mario combined with square enix characters is awesome you are not alone brother !
I swear nobody talks about Playground. That game ROCKS. Maybe.
Klonoa 1 is on ps3’s ps1 classic store, unless they took it down. I know I have it on there.
Mini Copter reminds me of a N64 Army Men game where you controlled a helicopter and used it for various missions.
Oh man Muramasa for sure. But like Muramasa wasn't forgotten. It got a Vita port with poppin' DLC..... Yeah. It's forgotten but Vanillaware still makes bangers!
Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure and Onechanbara were good forgotten Wii games.
I agree I loved the 2 bombers games I played on the n64 ( the 3d platforming one's) great games!! Underrated
Was going to suggest Fragile Dreams but that dreams seems realized already so... Battalion Wars 2 and PokéPark series are certainly forgotten... I was going to say gems but I don't think they are that good... they are certainly forgotten Wii games.
I jumped into online play for Battalion Wars 2 very late in the Wii lifespan and was shocked to immediately be matched into a game... so some people were way into bwii
Yea boi battalion wars!
Huh, Arc Rise looks like one of "Tales of..." games from that era, that get Blazblue character design
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I read about it in Nintendo Power around the same time as Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World and the two kinda melded together in my brain.
Arc Rise Fantasia's similarity to the Tales games is almost certainly not a coincidence as the game's director, Hiroyuki Kanemaru, not only worked at Namco Tales Studio, who were responsible for the Tales games, he also worked at Telenet Japan, the video game development studio that Namco Tales Studio were associated with back when they were called Wolf Team.
I was so hyped for Arc Rise when I randomly saw it in some game magazine. But I think it went through localization delays? The English dub was atrocious. I honestly don't remember much about how good the story was. I only played it once. I remember there being a lot of things about the story I didn't like. Yet I'd say most Tales of Games that came out before and after Arc Rise are much better JRPGs
Ok but Klonoa on PS1? Perfection
(Wii not so much but still fantastic)
This guy: "moogle for smash"
Me, an intellectual: chocobo for smash
Moogle riding on a chocobo?
I was to busy still playing mario hoops 3 on 3 to realize mario had a sports mix on the wii lol. Also I miss klonoa and dear God im so glad they didn't go with that horrific redesign.
I just bought the wii version of klonoa in may. I hated the voice acting but it's still just as good as the ps1 version
Did munchimals leave you hungry for more?
I REALLY wanna try ARF because it’s in the same pseudo-universe as my fav childhood games: Luminous Arc, and I know that’s Canon because the iconic Witch Vanessa is a boss in some Arena mode, I think, who was an antagonist/playable character in the first Luminous Arc game for the DS
Don’t scare me like that next time lol. I love Klonoa. It’s one of my favorite games of all time.
Sincerely,
A David
I didn't even know Klonoa was on the Wii I would have bought that in a second.
I will absolutely stand by Arc Rise Fantastia, it is definitely in my list of favorites for that entire generation... but hoo boy, did it need a Japanese voice option...
And yes, the Klonoa remake is fantastic, a must-own for Wii, and it and Lunatea's veil *really* need to be ported to modern platforms
I’m right there with you. I’ve been trying to get the Sports Mix forever mostly for the dragon quest slime
OH....MY....GOD! Someone else knows about Arc Rise! I have put SOOOOOO many hours into that game and I have only finished it maybe 3 times? But it is SOOOO good! Yes the voice acting is cringey and it is a tad grindy, but there is so much to do, the characters are interesting, there are quite a few genuine plot twists(though some are predictable) and the battle system works really well so as not to be boring. As far as RPGs go, this and Legend of Legaia are two of my favorites that NOBODY talks about. Also I am convinced that this has some loose link to Skies of Arcadia just based on some of the character designs and ideas but I have never found any proof. But anyway, you get a like from me just for bringing it up!
I’m watching this while half asleep and hungover and that “it was your fault David” caught me so off guard I’m now fully awake
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor and Rhythm Heaven Fever are my absolute favorite games on the Wii. Also not a lot of people played them so they would be perfect for a video like this.
I was fortunate enough to follow the development of the original Sin & Punishment for the N64. Was disappointed to hear that the gane was done, was in English, and just needed to be pressed to cartridge and sent out to retail, but Nintendo changed their minds on a US release. I immediately ordered one from eBay at a very good price for a new copy.
The Wii version was very difficult and did not have the same appeal as it’s N64 counterpart. I remember seeing the game at Toy’s R Us for $5 as well as Steel Diver for the Nintendo 3DS.
You think you’re so cool but do you own M&MS Cart Racing on Wii? I think not
I dig Go Vacation surprisingly. Also, Deadly Creatures is tha bomb.
Title: Forgotten Games
*Klonoa*
😢
At this point it's klonoa's title:
Klonoa, the forgotten...
You know what, it could be like a plot point of a improbable third game, uh
I'm not sure I agree with your definition of shovelware... For me, it's always been games that reek of no effort and are pushed out just for a quick dollar, and flood out the good games. That helicopter game and you talking about how it actually works all right and is recommended for some people? That's not shovelware. Ninjabread Man... that's a game with horrid controls, horrid gameplay, horrid graphics, no effort. THAT's shovelware. The helicopter game looks like it's pleasant, runs okay, and the gameplay looks kind of fun (assuming of course the controls really are as okay as you claim). Forgotten or underrepresented =/= shovelware.
never heard of munchables, it looks really cool!
G
Baten Kaitos. It and its sequel are very good forgotten JRPGs from the GCN era.
Yay Finally New Zoids!
Arc Rise Fantasia is definitely a hidden gem for a RPG.
Yeah voice acting is meh. (Though some voices better than others) but the story had some neat twists and I loved the gameplay. A good mix of other RPG systems that blended very well with it. (Skies of Arcadia being the biggest draw for the shared costs for turns)
Did have some tough bosses. Looking at you Chimera!
22:00
As a guy named David that never finished Klonoa on PS1 but really enjoyed what I played, this hit different.
Does Epic Mickey count as forgotten? Doesn’t seem like I hear much about it. That was a neat game, if a little janky.
So about Mario Sports Mix: The game is actually not dumbed down at all...but they NEVER tell you how to play in ANY of the tutorials or menus or the instruction book. Only in the between round loading screens do they tell you about the meat of the game...and most games are one round by default so you never see them. Stuff like in Dodgeball if you run forward until your starts spakling and their run animation changes, throwing will do a Special Throw that has a rainbow behind it and moves in unique ways depending on the character. Running over the line causes your character to auto-jump and if you run until you sparkle and then auto-jump and throw you'll do an Air Special Throw. Yeah...that's not in any tutorial or control menu. Just the loading screens.
This is also what lead to the negative reviews as while Mushroom Cup is so mindlessly easy you can beat it without this knowledge, Star Cup is brutal and most reviewers accused it of cheating when in reality the game just started using all the mechanics it has but never told you about.
Yeah. I know. Dumbest game flaw ever. "Hey guys lets make a game with lots of good mechanics and never tell anyone how they work!"
Actually no you aren’t alone I loved sport mix!!! As a matter of fact I loved Mario basketball 3 on 3 for ds
I found Arc Rise Fantasia at a pawn shop for 5 bucks in near mint last year. I’m sure not cheap now
Great video. The Wii saw a lot of rail shooters. From ports of classics like House of the Dead 2 and Ghost Squad to original stuff like House of the Dead: Overkill or Dead Space Extraction which took the genre and did interesting things with it, especially Extraction.
ARC RISE FANTASIA OMG SOME ONE ACTUALLY TALKS ABOUT IT YOOOOOOO TO THIS DAY I STILL CRY OVER ..... WELL I WONT SAY BUT YOU KNOW WHOS DEATH
Some of my favourite Wii semi-obscurities - Excite Truck, Go Vacation, Kororinpa 1 & 2, Pandora's Tower, Sin & Punishment: Successor of the Skies. Also, worth considering the Wii ports of Pikmin 1 & 2, since surprisingly few people know about them these days.
Klonoa on the Switch with both English/Other and Gibberish? I'd love that.
You have to check out the Centipede remaining for the Wii and Blast Works. Both were awesome.
Why does that Arc character sound like a low budget Jerry Seinfeld?
Underrated comment.
When you don't even look at the video topic but you see Austin and you just click. Thank you for another great video and reminding me of how much I miss Klanoa.
I got a forgotten one for you: How 'bout the one _(and, to my knowledge, only)_ time PaRappa creator Masaya Mastura tried to dabble in Wii motion controls with Major Minor's Majestic March?
Oh lol, I have that game, it's just a pain to play, ahah
Having to constantly shake that dang wiimote gets tiring after a bit, and since it's a Rhythm game, it's almost unplayable
I bought it myself the moment I'd heard of it and after I played it, I thought it definitely felt like a Nana-OnSha game, but I totally agree that it's tiring. The marching controls are so absurdly precise that if you don't do it _exactly the way the game tells you to,_ it messes up.
Disaster Day Of Crisis. It deserves to be on a list like this. The Gaming Brit did a good video on it. PS If you’re a DMC fan you’ll love the cast and the stuff they say...in short Dante is a terrorist that views nature as God.
didn't he played the main character?
@@MrDmoney156 No. He and Vergil's voice actor were two main terrorists.
For as gimmicky and underpowered as the Wii was, it had a lot of great games that are hidden among the first-party gems and the shovelware of crap.
The Klonoa remake is a standout but also games like Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 1&2, both Boom Blox games, Disaster: Day of Crisis, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, the two Trauma Center games (though we never got Trauma Team in Australia, nor did we get Arc Rise Fantasia for that matter), Zack & Wiki and plenty of others.
Had to come back here
Holy crap they did it
Klanoa switch announced
Arc Rise Fantasia! Of all the games you mentioned that one is...the only one I played. It may be the last game I finished on my most recent Wii dusting-off.
Muramasa is THE forgotten Wii game, but it got a re-release on something didn't it?
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom - Possibly my favorite in the VS series, needs a re-release, will never happen.
Then there are the ReBirth Konami games - Castlevania, Contra, and Gradius. RE-FUCKING-RELEASE THEM! NOW!
Yep, sadly Muramasa's rerelease was on the Vita
@@U1TR4F0RCE That's what I was thinking, and damn that is kinda sad, except the Vita is like THE console (er, handheld) for weebs so it kinda makes sense.
