DEVASTATOR the One Punch Corvette - 7x Overcharged Cannons (grade 5) - Elite Dangerous

- DEVASTATOR is my Federal Corvette in Elite Dangerous, this time equipped with 7x grade 5 engineered cannons for maximum firepower! 2x Huge short-range blasters with almost 80% damage boost, 1x large overcharged cannon with about 75% damage boost, 2x medium overcharged cannons and 2x small overcharged cannons! All cannons are grade 5 engineered with experimental mod enabled (most are oversize, 2 are thermal cascade)
This combo packs a punch that can literally knock out even the biggest ships in 1 hit. That's some serious firepower! Unfortunetly it doesn't have much ammo tho, only about 90 shots in each cannon.

Cannons are best used against modules btw. MC's outperform cannons in terms of sustained dps and accuracy as well. But try high yield shells with cannons against power plants. If it hits, its mostly instant kill.
If you ran fixed versions they would slap even harder
fixed versions don't work on big ships as hardpoints are too spread out ... it would be impossible to hit small ships even from point blank range, because each cannon would fire in different place. I'd only be able to hit them maybe with 3-4 cannons and from range only with 2 at best, I thought it's common sense..

Fixed huge, rest gimballed is good. I have used the setup in the past. Love cannons.
You can actually run 5 hardpoints on the Vette fixed with most weapons if your a good shot.

No way! this is fun! i had an anaconda fitted out with ALL long range CANNONS, that was devastating as well.
I have long-range ones too, but I wanted to go for DAMAGE on this build.
How do you deal with different shot speeds ? Or do you have just one reticle on the conda ? 😮
@@FURIOUSAM31 cannons are auto firing as long you keep the trigger pulled.
Im currently running all burst lasers on my vette. It's pretty lethal with the class 4s. I don't even need the other weapons lmao! I tried cannons before, but the ships equipped with chaff were making me pull my hair out. Missiles did ok, not super good in a conflict zone... Those ships refuse to explode. I'd run out of missiles on my 2nd target, and that's with the increased ammo roll maxed out. The pack hounds are much better for it if you can be bothered with the grind. Awesome video

How much do you make in credits per bounty run usually?
My corvette was by no means a min maxed thing like this, but I did have an awesome build. I took an uncommon route and got two huge beams and then engineered them to have max range. I don’t remember exactly, but I think when I fully engineered it, I had 17km before falloff damage. Only issue I had was she was an oven! I usually did more damage to myself by overheating, then I took from the enemy. It also had insane shields for a semi engineering shield system. No boosters were engineering. Being said, it was a great combat zone ship; horrible Thargoid ship. I could never get fast enough to outrun the swarms.
17km? no need to overreact lol. beam's range is 3km by default, long-range gives it +100% which means 6km total. falloff probably around 3km. unless it was around the time engineers came out first and it was some legacy bugged mod. even cannons don't go that far, I think furthest possible weapon is like 12km (missile or torpedo)
Probably 1.7 fall off.

why thermal cascade on NPC ships?
Coming in a year late, but it used to overheat NPCs ships and sometimes you would stack do much that it would blow up before even getting the shields down.

not good, i have experimented with corvette with cannons in combat sites, its not working well against highly engineered military, but against pirates in hazres works ok, though there are better options. I suggest trying high yield shiells and targeting power plant. From my tests that was best. If the large ones hit it almost certain instant kill. If it hits!
everything is ok, very funny. but the shells run out very quickly. it is better to use lasers for pve, then the only time limiter for farming will be fuel
or you synth ammo and save much more time with faster killing.
Synthing ammo is not a problem. For pve bounty hunting im using a corvette with MCs. With a full stack on raw mats i can reload 2133 times. This is enough for a half year of bounty hunting every day. And then its one and a half hours to stock up full again if you do it right. I certainly save more time with much faster killing with mcs compared to lasers.
Should have went fixed, gimballed cannons are not to good, but as its pve who cares really.
you should learn how fixed hardpoints work ... you don't realize that fixed ones cannot be aimed, therefore you will always miss 2-4 cannons as they are too spread out. DUH ...
@@SethiozProject lmao or you could get good and learn that fixed is perfect on the vette and that they still have a micro gimballed effect duh.

@@lazarusmagellan2367 yes target a sub target and you can see the micro gimball effect. The vette has pretty good hard point convergence so fixed is really good on it. But if its pve nothing wrong with gimballed. I have three vettes one pve mat farmer one full fixed mcs with two small rails and one full fixed phasing burst lasers, but as always it's up to you how you build m8.
the problem is different size of cannons have different shot speeds and reload times. Also fixed on a large ship you kick yourself in the arse.

yes no brainer, GIMBALLED, because fixed cannons cannot shoot where your crosshair is, therefore you will always miss with at least half thle cannons... if you'd own the game or have common sense, you'd understand this basic concept .. that fixed weapons on large ship will never work DUH .. but can't expect much common sense from nowday community, quite sad :(
@@SethiozProject That's quite rude answer. If you flew better you could get away with few fixed cannons. You know there is FAOff, pip management and fire groups right? You'd had less issues agains chaffs. But fighting npcs in fully modded ship doesn't really teach you much :/
