Kamino was an aquatic planet located in an extragalactic star system that straggled south of the Rishi Maze. It was inhabited by the Kaminoans-a race of tall, elegant beings who were regarded as a mysterious species that tended to keep to themselves. They were also known for their cloning technology which ultimately led to the creation of a clone army for the Galactic (Patey) Republic.

I'm not a flier, but I love engineering things. I really had no clue just how much a seemingly small design detail in one part of the plane, could impact another part in such a major way. Thanks for the whiteboard explanation, I can only imagine the cited example is just one of a million considerations involved in building a plane. I was totally amazed on the Draco build, look forward to be equally amazed on your latest creation. You guys rock!

I discovered your videos yesterday and have binged on them, I went to school for aviation and never worked in the field. When I went to school I did it for engineering in the racing industry and every time I flew to an event I thought about what I was missing in my life? I am so glad to have found you, I will start flying myself around again and oddly enough I live one mile from the FBO now.

You guys actually changed my life because of it. Watching this project made me realize that I want to do this too! So I am now going to school to get my A&P. As well as interning as a mechanic at my local airport.

I would like to express my sorrow for your loss of Drako . Watching your and Mark's videos , I actually felt involved in the building . Seeing you accepting full responsibility for the accident under extremely emotional times was incredible . I have been a commercial pilot for many years and after flying 10,000 hours and can tell anyone that Mike and Mark are the genuine items . Very few pilots will admit to doing anything less than perfect and you are helping to reverse that issue . Sorry for rambling on but I felt compelled to encourage you two to keep up the great work and videos . Thanks from Canada for being REAL .

I can go anywhere and learn conventional methods, but I love the out-of-the-box thought processes happening with him (and his brother). They're heart and soul into these machines and their obsession drives my obsession further.

I was one of the 4 principal builders of the QED II. One of the changes from the original QED was widen the landing gear from 6' to 8' then make the wings an additional foot longer each side. ^The biggest thing was the new engine. I had to re-engineer a new engine mount. The original plane was designed for a 600 HP what Moss and I installed was a Curtiss-Wright R 182O-82A. That scared the hell out of me.
Two weeks before it flew Jim Moss passed away. One year later it flew to Osh-Kosh and won a trophy. I am sure you might have seen it if you where there.
I enjoy the work you and your brother do. You both sound like Jim and I did building planes. I am excited too see how Scrappy turns out also Marks plane.

$8,000-$10,000. At least 1/2 as expensive as a Rotax. Experimental is fine. Engine innovation always drives airframe innovation.

I know you guys know your stuff, but don't underestimate the amount of force that landing gear pivot is going to see! There are a lot of cantilevered off-road trucks that have had serious issues with that style pivot! Can't wait to see it hit the whoops!

Scrappy just turned into a million dollar plane. I truly enjoy the engineering that turns into a work of art.

Hello guys. To answer your question "what do you get when you put a big engine up front, and weight in the tail?" Well, you get a T-6. As for controlling a heavy tail? Just create artificial stability by installing automatic thrusters in the tail! In fact, thrusters would add weight, and stability in a single package. (self satisfied smirk)
Kidding aside, this is going to be the most interesting pair of projects on RUclips this year. I am looking forward to seeing these airplanes develope.
    Godspeed, and have fun.

Mike yor work is a real inspiration! I love aviation. I decided to go find an instructor and get my private license. If you ever get a chance, fly in and out of the Russian Flat backcountry airstrip. It is just north of White Sulphur Springs, Montana. Thank you for the awesome videos, I really admire what you are doing with your life!!

Love the 2 stroke to thumper analogy. Having both and educating myself on what type of plane I will end up with.
    P.S. 2 strokes forever!

I like it when Mike picks up the fuselage on his back to move it to where he needs it. No messing around....

That's great. I would love to see the math. It would be wonderful to see the process and the math behind what makes it all fly! I bet you'll find there are quite a few of us who would love to be a fly on the wall, including the math.

These are concepts that I've either envisioned and/or experimented with on RC models but to be able to do it on full scale aircraft . . . Wow . . . You guys are awesome.

I like both!!! I'm a pilot and a cyclist. I build bicycles. In cycling we have a term for those that are totally obsessed with grams and ounces... "Weight Weenies " .

Ok Mike and Mark! (Yes I have seen previous videos)
    It is still April 1:st!
    Two Scappies?
No, I think my leg just has been pulled.
Love you guys, you are the best.
Mike! To go all in and beat Dracos power to weight ratio I seriously suggest, not a Merlin, instead a Griffon. The King!!! This with contra rotating props will give you a braking ability that is second to none. Just needs the "Sahara" dust filters of the Spitfire! The contra rotating props will also eliminate the torque issue at the STOL drags.
Mark! A 500cc Yamaha road racing two stroke engine will give you the light weight. You will need to sit on top of the engine!!
    Best Regards
    R

These will be a couple of cool planes. Can't wait to see them come to fruition. I've got a brother named Mark as well. We are 17 months apart but people often think we're twins.
