Top job Mike!!! Woow....and about the 49 negative voters. What is wrong with you guys? Stupid? Jealous? Not understanding what Mike is talking about. To vote this vid negative is unfriendly and not the state of kindness. So you better play with your beer cans instead of bothering this video with your presence. I cannot resonate enough what Mike is doing with the backseat, we just finished our Lockwood Aircam build and we placed a G3X in the back that is linked to the G3X in the front. At first, I thought it was overkill but after flying the airplane around 90 hours I can tell you its the best thing we did. The Garmin is so user friendly that even non-pilots in the back seat can learn to use the system within an hour-long flight. The best part is when you have a pilot in the back, they can run all the systems while you focus on flying in the front. Most flights in the Aircam are below 500ft AGL so this is super nice. After owning a G3X I am sold on Garmin for life, I will not use any other system out there. They just do it better.
Fun Fact- Initially the G3X was only single-engine capable, I hear that a "certain" Aircam got them to make it multi-capable;)

Mike Patey is a national treasure. I can't remember the last time I enjoyed watching anything as much (and learning as much!) as his Draco and Scrappy videos. I never thought I'd see another plane as cool as Draco again, but it looks like scrappy might even top it. I've always been interested in aviation, but never "did anything" about it, and I think that is going to have to change, and these projects are much of the inspiration. Thank you!

    YES!! ANOTHER SCRAPPY VIDEO!!!
Mike, are there any plans on making a 3D scan of Scrappy like you did with Draco? For those of us in model aviation, it would be excellent to be able to build a scale Scrappy or even 3D print a model Scrappy!

Maybe even extend that to a virtual file of Scrappy that can be flown in Xplane11 or other Flight Sims?

Yes! A full 3D scan would be a great gift to the community. I'm certain the flight sim community has the technology, and would love to do it. Not only for sims, but models, etc.

Mike, I just found the video of 913MP's suspenseful flight where you lost partial engine failure. I have to tell you, it brought back memories of a flight I took in 1968. my pilot was not so professional. we actually ran out of gas over L.A, It was only by the grace of GOD we survived. It was 11PM pitch black, i wont bore you with the details. You handled it so professionally. I felt the drama so real it had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I could feel the genuine concern the ATC guy had. Kiddos to him. I am so glad you made it. where else could a schmuck like me get the excitement that all your projects give us. I love all that you and Mark do for GA, thanks and know that we all are so proud of you.

"On Draco, I made my own batteries". I had to laugh at this. People have asked me over the years, "Is there anything you can't do??" because if I need something that I can't buy, I'll build it. I am decended from a long line of engineers. Building and creating is the most rewarding pastime in the world for me. Right now, I'm building an experimental aircraft. It's no Draco, but it'll be fun! Back to work!

Climbing to 25,000 ft would sure cut down on the drag. It would be interesting to see how it affects the ground speed. Mike, any chance for a test? Just throw your supercharger back on and give it a blast. I’m betting the wing you have planned will handle it.

I was under the impression with what Mike was referring to that he would be able to develop the amount of power to climb to that height without much effort, tend to think that the supercharger would be able to maintain better performance at that altitude. Just taken aback when he mentioned it and chuckled a bit. Haven’t experienced anything over 13,000 ft in the Cessna 180 unpressurized yet, just the oxygen tank supply.
