One of the great mysteries of life is why it’s so enjoyable and satisfying to watch Stevie go through a checklist.
Classic engineering vocalized is like ASMR for engineers :)
Truly
New panel could slow her down a little for a few flights
When I was watching the first video I saw of Stevie and my wife walked in, quickly I said That's her airplane, and my wife said with a grin, And she is Pretty.
So true.
As a student pilot in SoCal I want to say that your videos have been truly helpful to me, espsecially with your meticulous radio and checklist procedures, and high level of professionalism. You set a good example for the younger generation of future pilots, of how aviation can be awesome and safe at the same time. Glad to see you posting again
And for not-so-young, aspiring GA pilots too. I am about to schedule my discovery flight... your videos have helped showcase some of what to expect. Thank you!
It is so refreshing to see a young person that has it together like she does . You rarely rarely ever see that nowadays . She is definitely one in a billion
The way you say 21 Charlie makes me smile lol
The way you verbalize your entire checklist every time, without fail, is awesome. I really enjoy your videos.
And it is such an important thing to do. By calling everything out, you are so much more conscious of what you are doing at that moment and you also give yourself the time to properly do the task and not just read the list and go in your mind "yeah, I'm sure I flipped that switch"
I would do the same when making a movie of my flying. Other than that, I work with a panel-mounted checklist that is reduced to the "survival items". I.e., a "check"list not a "do"list. E.g., I don't use a checklist to start the engine.
@Aloha Akahai I was thinking the same thing, this made me smile watching her do that.
The fact that you've flown your airplane manually exclusively, will give you a better appreciation and use of your new autopilot. A lot of pilots depend too much on the use of the AP before they've really have gotten enough "Stick Time" and hand off the aircraft to the AP very early on on most of their flights. I think that makes them less proficient and able to predict and handle a myriad of situations they can find themselves in.
You on the other hand are, IMO, an excellent pilot. You will benefit from the AP and will appreciate and use it better then a lot of other pilots. I'm very excited to hear you wanting to go IFR again. As you know, it will open up flying to you in so many other ways that make it safer and more flexible then just with VFR.
Thank you as always for taking us along with you. I so very much appreciate it Stevie!
I have seen military pilots with 1000 hours that don't have your radio skills. Not to mention - situational awareness and sense of urgency. Excellent piloting.
Absolutely love that you’re maintaining the vintage look and feel.. so many people put giant MFD and PFD’s in those beautiful old airplanes and it just looks out of place..
it looks like they took great care with running and bundling the wires!
I helped a friend redo the panel in his RV-8, and wow! I wish we had the ability to scan and recreate the panel digitally like that back then!
Thank you, Alex! Putting a giant screen in the panel would be like putting a Tesla screen in a vintage car, just wouldn't feel right. Definitely a no-brainer to put the GI 275s in since they maintain the vintage feel while providing the same capability as a larger PFD.
The 3D scan was definitely a nice touch! Can't wait to show the finished product - the attention to detail on the install is incredible
Why is it such a joy to listen to her do pilot talk on the radio with tower and control
She has a wonderful voice.
You owe it to yourself to fly into Half Moon Bay Airport and visit our coastal paradise. The airport is about 4 miles North of the town. Lots of restaurants in the area, shopping and plenty to see and do. The famous surfing site, Mavericks is a stone's throw from the airport. We used to have something called "Dream Machines" once a year. Planes of all types including warbirds, show cars and anything with a motor were on display but I'm honestly not sure if we still have the event since Covid. This time of year the weather is almost always spectacular. The flight from San Carlos Airport to the coast can't be more than 20 minutes. If you have any questions, be glad to help.
I started flying classes when I was 16 but dropped them and basically forgot I even did them. Seeing you reignited that old interest. It's great to see another video from you Stevie. Thank you.
Can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoy these videos. Really hope we get to see more soon…
Glad you enjoy the videos! More on the way soon!
I really appreciate your episodes. My father, an airline pilot, would commend you on your consistent use of the Check List. He felt this was the most important aspect of piloting.
Thank you, Aubrey! My first instructor emphasized using the checklist and I'm glad he did! It's so important!
I wish most truckers did this never mind a walk around inspection before hopping into their rigs.
@@ph11p3540 that's why most trucks have computers in them.
Good for you keeping it traditional in appearance. Planning to do the same with my ‘56 c180.
That's awesome! If you haven't already, you should definitely check out Schmiiindy on RUclips and Instagram, she has a 1957 C182 and recently did a Garmin install as well and kept the panel traditional in style! It turned out great!
Schmiiindy still had a generator! Awesome. Thanks for the reference.
Always so glad to see you using checklists and being a conscientious pilot. So many preventable accidents due to complacency.
You are so amazing Stevie. Please give us more video's.
Thank you Charles! More on the way!
I've so missed your videos. I was raised in Camarillo so I'm happy to see new people coming to our old Air Force base and bringing new life to the area.
Glad you kept the important steam instruments..
That's amazing Stevie!!! So happy to see you back on RUclips!!!😍 Congrats on your new install!!!!❤️
Thank you Chrissy!! Hope you enjoy the new video!
Hello
@@bayflight that Cessna plane is so awesome
Who is happy to see Stevie back. I know I am.
As long as she flies the same and looks the same, no harm to a vintage plane to get it up to modern spec. Keeps it viable and safe. Keep your vids coming.
So cool! As a retired Electronics guy, I can really appreciate the advances in navigation and control electronics. Looks like Neal Aviation does incredible work. I'm sure they also follow FOE practices.
Regarding your new autopilot, during my instrument training (in a Bonanza) my instrument instructor (who, as a corporate pilot, flew single-pilot IFR) told me to "make liberal use of the autopilot" for IFR flying. It frees your brain and hands for the multiple things you must keep track of and do beside just flying the plane.
Have to admire the gentlemen at Neal Aviation. Awesome refit!
They are just the best!
I know nothing about planes other then they fly! You sound so excited so I’m excited!
It's a very beautiful plane with a beautiful tail design.
I really didn’t realize how much i missed your videos. Its so nice to see someone who becomes so proficient at what they do at a young age. The love you have for flying is very evident in your video’s. Fly safe!!
Great video as always. I can't wait to see the finished panel, and nice that you're keeping the same look and layout with the modern instruments.
Another great video Stevie. You will love those upgrades. Can't wait to see it finished. Thanks!
So glad to see you back at it. I am glad you appreciate the vintage plane and want to still keep the feel of it with the upgrades.

Wow...that is a very professional instillation. I love all the detail they are adding (added) to the new panel to retain the vintage look and feel.
As a guy that's older than your airplane I really enjoy watching your adventures.

I am happy to see a video pertaining to your care and maintenance of your 1952 Bonanza. It was really cool, thanks.

Congrats Stevie on your instrumentation upgrades, that's a huge improvement and upgrade for flying IFR... Absolutely love your enthusiasm, and your radio skills are second to none... Can't wait to see the new panel when it's complete..
Looks like someone got a sweet sponsorship! Congrats. I have the GFC500 in a BE35 and it makes it an entire different airplane.

I love the systems approach you take Stevie, it's clear that you take your flying seriously. The panels going to be great and I especially respect the effort to merge the new with the vintage nature of this flying machine.
I really enjoy hearing Stevie talking to the control towers. Although I can't make heads or tails out if it she's totally convincing to me that she knows what she's doing. Be safe girl.
Thank you for using the checklist. Sets a good example for future pilots.
Thank you for sharing this adventure! I’m looking forward to more of your channel’s content!
Great video! Great compromise between adding capability and preserving the vintage look. I recently upgraded my airplane from no autopilot to the GFC 500 and it has been an utter game-changer for IFR flying. You'll love it!

It looks like a lot of us, your followers, are fascinated following this new journey with you and your refurbished plane, looking forward to your first flight with the new Garmin Bonanza.
Panel work is looking neat! Also, as someone going for a private right now I'm really thankful you keep a lot of the radio talk in these videos. It's really helpful for familiarizing people with the comms needed when talking to ground and tower.
That plane looks like its new - so well taken care of and maintained!
Amazing Instrument Overhaul... Can't wait to see how the new stuff looks and works. Thanks Stevie this is fun.
I love watching your vids, and as usual I find your professionalism just incredible. Your knowledge of your plane, your communication skills, your operational awareness and the level of comfort and calm that you exude is uncanny to me. As always, thank you for sharing. :)
That's a beauty! In 1975 my training aircraft was a 1954 D-35. Great airplane and what you're doing looks terrific! 😀
This is really cool seeing an upgrade like this on a beautiful old classic aircraft such as yours will be interesting to see the changes that are made and when the Bonanza gets back in operation wishing all the best with the upgrade
Congratulations on the upgrades to come. Flying a classic stock has it's charms but nothing beats current tech for safety and comfort.
Fantastic update. With your tech and the historical of your aircraft it’s a great fit. Thanks again for your posting.
Thank you, Clarence! Excited to show the new panel in action in the next video!

This is fantastic and always enjoyed upgrading electronics while keeping that OG feel! Keep it up!
Thank you so much!!
Yay Stevie!!!
You’re great to watch
Adventuring 🎉
Beautiful restoration.
Really awesome to see behind the scenes of how small planes are serviced/upgraded. My uncle was always into aviation and took me up in his Cessna when I was young and since then I know his favorite hobby has been flying and maintaining smaller planes. I live too far away to really know 'exactly' what that entails so it's awesome to get an idea here.
Stevie, I'm so happy for you. I know getting the electronics upgrade must be so exciting! 21 Charlie is a beautiful plane. I'm sure it will be even more of a pleasure to fly her after the upgrades. Love your channel. Keep up the great work!
Such an uplifting video. Love that you are so happy when flying the Bonanza!
Thank you, Diego! Always love flying the Bo!
An uplifting aviation video means the wings are working as intended.
Happy for you seeing you excited about your Bonanza's upgrade. I have seen other pilots getting work done on there planes. Its a different type of video but find it quite interesting seeing the complexity of the planes. Looking forwards to your video when its all done.
Because I'm considered vintage as well I always appreciate young people like you who like the old school style. Also always enjoy your videos.
Happy to see a new video! Thank you for sharing all your aviation adventures. Great video, great flying as always. Blue Skies and Bright Stars Stevie!
Thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoyed the video!
@@bayflight cant wait to see the next one, fly safe. Id happily jump out of any plane youre in control of ;")
