Just finished one of these. No fit problems whatsoever. Lovely kit.

Yep me too, BUT I did get a resin cockpit set as a gift, other than that , a good little unit

Bought one of these last month for a fiver at Aldi, not built it yet, but have the same issues. Short on a seat, warped/twisted wings, bit of flash, especially on the tail pipe. Still going to build it though, I'm not a starter, more a re-starter, so know my way round kits. If anything, this is an improvement on kits I used to have 25-30 years ago.

Doing one of these now (alongside a couple of Gnats... Red Arrow and Yellowjack)
It's at the 'ready for paint' stage - Went together great, no problems whatsoever - I'm guessing you got a random 'dog' - or maybe something happened to warp it in transit (heat maybe)
The Gnats took more fettling than the Provost, and they only needed a bit of attention round the intakes.

It's actually a very old model originally released back in the plastic bag days. Airfix replaced it with a T.5 model back in the 1980s which was somewhat better but had some very prominent panel lines.

No it's not. This specific tooling was created in 2016. Previous tooling were from 1960 and 1973. Airfix last used the 1960 tooling in 1976 and the 1973 tooling in 2008.

You can get spare parts for free from airfix on the website if you have a damaged or missing part

If you put the pilots in, then you dont fit the inner seat part....look closely at the instructions and it clearly points it out.
i had no problems at all...no gap on seat parts ans very little flash on one pilot. Perhaps Airfix sorted out their QC? i have noticed that guys who bought this 2 years ago all seemed to have had similar problems but if you got this from Aldi this Xmas (2023) the kits seem to be of better quality.
Were the versions out 2 years ago yet another victim of Covid? Low staffing levels etc? who knows but still enjoyed your video.
PS I too found my 'Panel line scribe'r hard work, as you say maybe with skill you get better!

Many thanks for watching and your comments. Thanks for pointing out my error regarding the seat. The problem lies with Airfix's QC rather than outside problems

I had same issue with one of the seats, a big chunk missing from the bottom of one. Seems like an issue with the mould at the factory.
