  • The Hunting Percival Jet Provost is a British jet trainer aircraft. The type was the primary basic jet trainer of the Royal Air Force (RAF) serving from 1955 to 1993. It was originally developed by Hunting Percival from the earlier piston engine-powered Percival Provost basic trainer. The T.3 variant first entered RAF service in 1959.
Both the T.3 and later T.4 variant served in various RAF flight training schools, throughout the Cold War. The type was also operated by the RAF Red Pelicans’ aerobatic team from 1958 to 1973. In addition to its RAF service: The Jet Provost was exported to many air forces worldwide. The type was operated by the air forces of Iraq, Kuwait, the former nation of South Yemen, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Singapore & Venezuela. Today various Jet provost remain airworthy in the hands of private operators.
As for the kit by Airfix, its one of their easiest new tooled kits to make. Which I’m tempted to make again. Also available in the Red Pelicans T.4 Starter Set and T.4 boxing. This boxing of the kit as seen in this video, depicts an RAF Hunting Percival Jet Provost T.3. With the options to depict an RAF T.3 in a late 1960s, RAF Flying School paint scheme. Or a mid-1980s RAF Flying School paint scheme.
The kit comes with fluorescent orange decals, which is nicely printed. However, the way my cameras photograph the orange makes it seam like the decals are blood orange rather than fluorescent. Aside from that this is another fun & easy kit to build. Minus the sheer number of decals to create the aircraft in the video.
Thanks for watching & happy modelling

The one and only reason I found this video was to see what technique was used for the leading edge decals . And you chickened out !

I like the idea of using a cable tie for a re-scribing aid 👍 Your hard work paid off, a great looking build.

Excellent video. Great job. I love your idea of making the wing flaps down. I am building this model and I have now done the same. Looks great. Thanks for the tip. Keep up the good work.
