Peter I agree 100% on the 1/72 armour with a mini vignette included. The Matchbox tanks I built as a kid remain to this day as by favorite tanks of all time, this could be an easy slam dunk for Airfix

Just made this Peter and 1 canopy is for the closed position and the other slightly wider one is for the opened position 👍

I wouldn't be surprised if the if the parts of the mould used to create the pilot figures isn't a sort of 'generic' older piece that's used over and over for all kits requiring this type of pilot figure; it just pops-in to the newly tooled mould pieces for the rest of that sprue/runner.
This would explain the appearance of 'flash' on only the pilot section, and also the lack of definition compared to the rest of the kit...

to be pedantic, the original Provost was a propeller driven aircraft - the jet provost following that original [think it was simply 'percival procost' matchbox did one in their purple range]
the kit builds very well and the camo finish reminds one of the days when the RAF could afford to actually fly aircraft.....
rather than stands, the latest lancasters feature open bomb bays but no bombs, the modeller being referred to the separate bomb loading kit, half the price of the main kit!

The Matchbox one was the 'Strikemaster 167' export ground attack version. (See my recent review) but I was a also a bit baffled why they used the 'Percival' name on these too? 'BAC Jet Provost' would be the correct tile. My Dad worked on these at BAC Warton in the late 60's...
