Today is my 69 th birthday and I have danced to Sylvester since the late 70s. I met him once on the streets of NY. We were going to see him that night at the Garage. He was beautiful!
I’m so privileged to have seen him so many times in SF at the big dance parties at The Galleria and The Design Center and the I Beam for his birthday celebration. This is my favorite song in the world and it marks my coming out in 1978. Now I’m an old man but I still get thrills from his music and especially this song. He is an ICON.
Sylvester was and always will be a legend, thanks for this wonderful music you were one of the greatest singers of the century. This song makes anyone travel back in time, thank you very much. May the light shine for you. RIP
This song makes me want to go back in time so that I could experience the disco era and dance in a disco with a huge discoball hanging above, dancing any worries away.
This is my favorite version. Straight off the album, as I recall, it was a solid white album. No fancy mix, just pure Sylvester. one of the best disco songs ever, thanks for posting such a clean version.
This song makes me so *happy*. I’d forgotten about it for a few years, and I thought of it again, and I can’t get enough. I wish Sylvester was still alive to see how so many people loved his song. This is disco at its finest!
Sweet! I love that you love it and feel real! I danced with Sylvester & he fanned me from my head to toe singing this song at the Trocadero Transfer in San Francisco. It's my favorite memory of the era. ruclips.net/video/gD6cPE2BHic/видео.html
DISCO ERA was and will always be EPIC. So glad my husband, of 40+ years, and I enjoyed it to the fullest. We still do. Disco will make a ton when they come back AND they will be back!! Get your boogie shoes ready!
This song reminds me of the roller discos my mom used to compete in, late 70s. I would go with her Friday nights to the Skate Barn and she always slayed.
Sept.6: Happy birthday Singer-Disco Sylvester James / "Sylvester" (1947-1988) Thank you and God bless. Thanks for the upload, SylvesterVEVO. RIP Fierce One. Blessings
I was 15 when this was released My best friend and me could get into over 18's discotheques. Yes a discotheque and a night club were two different things. Four years late we were in a discotheque in London and realised this is where Sylvester filmed the video, lovely.
FOREVER 80
Loved it when I danced to it decades ago and it's still smokin' now. Peace and blessings to all those who grooved to it then and to those who have discovered it now. It really is a groove thang!
My mom would put this on the turntable and my brother and I would go crazy in the living room. So great to be a kid during this time!!! Miss you Sylvester!!
derrick did good as well but bob slayed that shit i personally like derrick Barry but, i felt some type of way with bob he turnt that shit, gave me dida ritz realness "That is high drag at it's finest"
Hello, all you disco-darlings - "You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)" has got to be one of the most wonderful, energetic, toe-tappin' songs from the fabulous days of disco, ever. This tune epitomizes that era more than any Bee Gees' song. It's such a nice trip down memory-lane to hear it again... Ta-Ta! Hugs & Kisses 2 U all.
The song was much bigger than just Disco, 'You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)' Is A Celebration Of one's self. Sylvester's 1978 dance hit transcends its moment and even the gay rights and AIDS awareness movements it came to represent. It's an anthem to liberation - of desire, and of the body. For a lot of us, Carlos, that was a time of coming out and accepting ourselves for the fabulous people we are.
Always liked this..love the beat. Watched a Candy Crush commercial on TV the other night..on their smart phone, they play just the first 4 notes of this song..recognized that I loved the song, couldn't remember the title or artist. Did some research & finally found that it was this song.
This song remains me of my London period days and nights...WOW.... I can feel the BEAT on my skin even today after so many years....Love High Energy Disco, part of the Gay Culture worldwide.
I pray future generations appreciate this song. I never want it to die. It’s amazing to me. When he comes out in his turban in the video-ICONIC.

This is beautiful. I'm touched by this song even though Sylvester died not long before I was born. It's amazing that his legacy lived on!
❤❤
There aren't many songs like this one. It's unbridled joy. It's kind of gay in the original sense of the word. What a revelation.
Sylvester was and always will be a legend, thanks for this wonderful music you were one of the greatest singers of the century. This song makes anyone travel back in time, thank you very much. May the light shine for you. RIP

This is by far the best disco song, it's got everything to drag you to the dance floor.
Thank you ❤❤
I can appreciate the intricacies of the beat now that I'm older and not dancing and drinking. A brilliant artist. Thanks so much.
This song makes me feel like I could live happily for another 40 years!
❤❤
This song reminds me of the roller discos my mom used to compete in, late 70s. I would go with her Friday nights to the Skate Barn and she always slayed.

Disco will never die✍️
No genre stays dead: it just stops being appreciated for awhile before it makes it's return. 🙂
@@Delightfully_Bitchy it's just people gets bored and likes something else then they gets bore of that and goes back
I love this song, but technically Disco is the only genre that died in the U.S which was stupid.
@@randomxstory nope disco just became dance music, Madonna is essentially a disco artist for instance
Disco has covid 😬

The backbone of disco is soul, so if you don't have either, you can't love disco.
You've heard of a disco Queen Sylvester had been a disco diva, and may I say a fine one at that.ll👍👍👍
