Download the free PS Remote Play app now
Visit the app store for your chosen device, install the app and you’re ready to get started.
PS Remote Play lets you stream and play your PS4 and PS5 games, switch between games, view your console home screen and browse the console’s menus on any compatible device that’s connected to your broadband network or using your mobile data.
That means you can start playing with your PlayStation console connected to a TV, pause your game and access the PS Remote Play app on your chosen device, and your game will be there, ready to keep playing from exactly where you left it. Or you can switch on your PlayStation console and start playing directly from the app, with no need to ever switch on your TV.
A PS4 or PS5 console is required to stream your games to another device.
Screen Content Simulated.
Remote Play can be used with a mobile data connection or Wi-Fi. Broadband internet with at least 5Mbps is required. For a better Remote Play experience, a high-speed connection of at least 15Mbps is recommended using either Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. If you choose to use a mobile data connection to access Remote Play features, this will use your mobile data allowance. If you exceed your mobile data allowance, you may be charged by your mobile provider. To help manage the amount of data used through a mobile connection, select your preferred video quality for mobile data streaming. The quality and connectivity of your Remote Play experience may vary depending on your mobile carrier network and network environment.

Just need a little PS Remote App for the Vita from Sony.
Ye we need another hand held ps console
As cool as the vita was a nice cell phone and the backbone in combo with remote play is pretty legit same.
Sony needs to make a PS Vita 2
Had the Backbone for 2yrs now. Still going strong. Definitely miss the Vita though.
You have the android version or iphone?
@Tony BlueAces34 Is the Iphone version. Android version came out last year.
@@GandRpictures I figured. For some reason sony has not allowed the android version to run on the backbone. Or any third party controllers like this. I usually use a different remote play app that lets me bypass that problem. I thought sony would have added it by now 🤷🏾♂️
@Tony BlueAces34 yeah same
@@kingace34 Oh wow really I didn't know that. I use PSPlay app with the Kishi.
For those complaining about lag and video freezing, try unplugging HDMI from console while using PS Remote play. Seems to get rid of the video freezing/lag while trying to play.
Really? What a pain though
I dont understand can you explain’
@@shayanisse2377 I think his point is by unplugging HDMI cable from the console, it will stop processing and sending video signal to TV or monitor, so that it saves a lot of processing power to handle the signal between the console and the device whichever you use for remote play.
Interesting. Will try this as I use remote play a lot on the mac when the TV is occupied!
@@amolbhatia1449did it work?
I've been using remote play since it was a limited feature on the PS3 and PSP. That being said remote play between the PS Vita & the PS4 was absolutely phenomenal! I beat so many PS4 games while using remote play on my Vita.
Since the Vita is no longer a viable option for me, I use remote play via my Samsung Galaxy tab S6 lite and my PS5. It's been incredible so far TBH. The 10.1 inch 2K display on the tablet makes PS5 games look great at the 1080p streaming resolution. I was recently away for work and I brought my tablet & my dual sense controller with me leaving my hardwired PS5 at home. Within 3 minutes I was playing horizon Forbidden West. The quality of the stream allowed me to play for 3 solid hours with very little issues at all (an occasional hiccup occurred but nothing bad). I hope one day Sony enters the hand held hybrid market again (can you imagine a PlayStation steam deck with an incredibly powerful APU that allows for full download access to your PS5 catalog) 😱
Sony would be smart to capitalize on the love people had for the PSP and combine that with the love ppl have for the Nintendo switch and steam deck.
Happy gaming ✌️
You dont have input delay issues? Maybe its just my internet. Also does your device not have to be on the same network?? You can stream from afar?
I they were so smart to capitalize on it, they wouldn't have made the PS Vita use proprietary cards that were more expensive than games and sometimes even the handheld itself, and they wouldn't have abandoned it in less than two years, and by now with the Switch in the works, they would have created the PS Vita 2 a looong time ago. They have no idea how appreciated it would be. Imagine four shoulder buttons (or even extra pads), an SSD and a big shiny OLED screen on a device capable of at least PS4 level gaming. People would go nuts.
Yeah I thought the device you were using for remote play and your ps5/4 needed to be connected to the same internet
@@Henkibojj dude I agree 💯 percent! If Sony were to capitalize on the fact that people are SUPER into handheld gaming devices a PS Vita 2 would be phenomenal! Can you imagine a PlayStation Handheld with AMD components more powerful than the PS4 with the ability to stream PS5 games as well as run games natively on the device itself. I think if Sony were to copy the steam deck approach (powerful enough to run most AAA games) rather than a Nintendo approach (can only run games solely developed for the switch) it'd be extremely successful. I honestly LOVED my PS Vita so much, I got the platinum trophy for gravity rush and on top of that I played and beat so many PS4 games because remote play was the number one feature I used for the device. I can definitely imagine a modern PS Vita more powerful than a PS4 with a massive battery, built-in 256GB NVME SSD with the option for expansion, dual analog sticks, four back buttons on top of the rear touch pad with a type C connector that can also do HD video output. Man it's so nice to dream about this! Sony Playstation NEEDS to make another handheld gaming device ✌️

The latency is bad? Or is playable, or had some lag or issues, I want a backbone too
@@shotafry6068 the latency is only bad when you use Wi-Fi that can’t handle the connection. I always recommend strong mobile data or just better home Wi-Fi. My games rarely lag, I play on a MacBook at times but mainly on my iPhone 13.

Best feature ever. I legit play turn based games like TemTem at work because of this. I can turn in bounties or pick up new missions in Destiny, and might even pick up Octopath Traveler too so I can have another chill game away from home ❤

PSPlay app + Kishi controller on one of my old phones (S8) sitting in bed has been an amazing experience. Perfect for RPGs/Looters like Diablo 2 and Trails. Screen can be a little small for something like Kingmaker, Cyberpunk so I also have a tablet and use a wired PS4 controller for games like those.

Do you have to be near the Playstation so u could play, and does it work in PS4 slim
@@naifashroor2394 As long as you have a strong wifi connection it should work pretty well wherever you are in the house. Even better if the PS4 is wired to the modem/router.
Yes, all of the PS4's should have the remote play feature.
Same. I have a Razer Kishi with PSPlay App on a Galaxy S22 Ultra. Most of my playtime is at work 😅
Does this require high quality Wi-Fi ?
@@Danny-yf1zy I honestly can't say. My internet is 125 MB/s down and 4 MB/s up which is probably above average (for the US at least). I have no problem with 1080p 60fps and best bitrate stream on the PSPlay app.
I have yet to try it over mobile data but if it can run on that I am sure your wifi doesn't need to be insane. Might have to do 720p which looks fine on a smaller device. Now if you are using wifi to connect your PS5 to your router (instead of am ethernet cable) you might run into some issues if your wifi speeds are low.
You can even try Sony's official PS Remlte Play app for free to test it out using a phone with touch controls before committing to the PSPlay app or any additional hardware like the Kishi.
This is great for playing JRPG’s on my iPhone with a backbone controller. I was surprised by how smooth it was.
