Quite a nice coincidence for me since i'm trying to build an ice bowazon currently. As a newb runewords, places to farm, skill-stat distribution it's a whole world to figure out. Thanks for this awesome vid
Burak Uçak just so you know, lighting fury javazon is much more powerful, especially with good high level equipment. That being said bowazons just “feel” more satisfying, idk why.
A great build to try during this lockdown.
A merc with Hone Sundan is really great to use as well. If you build your merc around crushing blow for an Amazon, it eliminates the lack of single target power towards bosses to a large degree. You become the support during boss fights while your merc chunks the HP down with CB.

Another option bootwise would be caster crafted boots. Could have frw fhr 60mana 10regen 5%max res etc. May take forever to craft tho before u get what u want. Great vid as usual bud!
I've been playing and building the same Amazon since pre 1.09 and it still works in 1.14 and PD2; freezing arrow as main, multishot and secondary skill. Multishot for leach and killing outside your screen, freezing arrow for damage and keeping monsters at bay. Effectively you barely need Energy with this build. Would work well as "ice bowazon" too I imagine
great videos man. i played d2 back in 2000 no runewords no ubers no synergy skills, just farming cow level. lightning nova sorc was so epic for it. then i played game religiously for like 6 years. Did it all. Eventually i just duped and gave free shit away and took people on Uber tristram runs all day and gave torches away. good times. The remaking of this game has brought me to your videos. Im kind of excited for remake and playing D2 again after its been like 15 years. D2 definitely my favorite game of all time. Great vids man. cheers

I played a Frostmaiden back when D2 was new. Built very similar to this. It is refreshing to see individuals like this fellow so engrossed in a game that was mainstream when he was too young to even know about it much less play it. I hope D2 Resurrected is all you hope it to be.
I'll ask you because your comment is only 1 month old : do you know why he says he adds points to penetration to increase his chance to hit, in the video? His two main attacks are Freezing Arrow and Explosive Arrows, and both act like magic and always hit, so I'm a bit confused.
EDIT: never mind, I think it is to make use of the 35% chance of Deadly Strike on his amulet.
Love this build -- always was my favorite character in Diablo 2. She puts on a fantastic show. I personally use Strafe instead of Exploding Arrow, because I love the look of Strafe.

The CTA Bow. in a +3 Base its basically +4 to skills + BO.
Also a nice bow to start out with is the Memory (Shael Ko Nef) with +3 to bwoskills and some ias.

Hey DB! Loving your guides and I keep looking back at them when I find something relevant to a build, and I think I just have found a GG Tiara for this (at this point I basically only start builds I find some dope rares for, or really weird ones, like beast/bear builds and stuff). It has 2 skills, 19 all res, 29 strength and 29 life as the stats to look at (no 2 sockets, so not d2jsp GG, but still). How important is Nightwing's to the build's damage output? I haven't played a "caster" character in ages, as I like my melees, but iirc the damage bonus on items such as Nightwing's is additive to the skill's synergies, making its damage bonus marginal (plus tiara on a 'zon has a lot of style points). Only amazon I ever played was a very basic budget javazon, so kinda excited about making my bowazon build for a while (also due to a GG rare MF zon amu I found), and Freezing Arrow builds always appealed to me, basically anything that has Holy Freeze looks fun to me for some reason.

May not be the most powerful amazon build but i always built 1 on bnet when i started to get rich because of how fun it is, silkweaves, a decent pair of gloves and rare ring with mana leech always solved my mana problems but at first i did put points into energy to keep the arrows flying. I went the valkarie route because i didnt use enigma so dodge etc wasnt such a problem. Both options are just as good as each other by the sounds of it ^^

Fun build I used to have try it out if you want: Hurricane Fury Druid. Max Huricane/Tornado/Twister/Lycanthopy & Fury. Slap on a Doom Zerk & Nightwing. Lot of fun too use. Was very B/M back in the day. It was always fun to bate unsuspecting smiters w/ the Werewolf then transform and cast a couple nados. Man i miss this game.

Great build, man! I love it. Definitely will keep it in mind for when I want to use a zon.
Full mavs with highlords, ravenfrost, and a dual leach ring works pretty well too. Slightly higher freeze arrow damage, higher resists, 90ias. but no -enemy res or tele.
Minus enemy res absolutely destroys the higher arrow damage

At last someone paid attention to how much damage you can do with cold and ice arrows. Everyone is like strafe/multishot but I find this build a lot better. Lot's of damage and AOE. Also cat's eye also has 20% ias
This is another great video.... i wonder if the cold arrow effect would transfer fire damage to the targets as well when enchanted....... I always build my bowzon with a companion chanter for GG damage.
So sorry if you mentioned this, but what merc did u get? Did you go for might or something else?
I LOVE that you said you don't like the evade skills, they are not worth it. They hurt pretty much every zon but a melee spearzon. And Valk is amazing but being required to get those 3 dodge skills to get it makes it not even worth it. Plus, the decoy can distract anything long enough to kill them. The only 2 things I do different is I don't bother with razortail anymore. You already have 73% pierce personally I don't think a higher percentage makes any difference or a notable difference in kill speed. The last thing is I really wish people would listen and give WitchWild String serious consideration. I Up it and socket it with ias/ed jewels and the Average damage is the same at that point as ANY BOW in the game. It comes with 1 deadly strike per level so in hell you are double damage everytime which makes it superior to even Windforce. It has insane attack speed so you can flex your other items because you don't need to stack much IAS, AND it offers 40 all res which allows even more gear flex and a ton of survivability on a squishy glass cannon. Overall, best guide you've put out yet and my personal favorite Ice Maiden build video

@@equinox3861 freezing arrow is my favorite for elemental damage and strafe is my favorite for physical damage. You can max both of them no problem in most build freezing arrow only takes 41 points total to max that and it's 1 damage synergy

Nicolás Bascuñán nah. Basically I use strafe and freezing arrow but focus on a lot of physical damage as well as cold. So, windforce and fortitude and then my merc has reapers. in the end it comes to me doing around 7k( 3.5k of both types) damage with merc might aura
Would using Pride on a A2 merc with might and 19+ Conc be viable as well?
Good option for this build skillpoints not in strafe or magic arrow. On my opinion best choice - charged strike + lfury and synergies to this skills. On swap - Thunders +4 javelin and lightfaceted Head Hunter Glory or Monarch (Jmod if you reach). Awesome hybrid ama for fun. Gosu gloves 2/20/str/dex ++ (with ml are really cool). Nw 5-5cold . Razor. Wt or cow boots. rare ring dual leech dex life mana/raven/hlw or cat. Eni or Ormus 15l 15c with crap skill, good choice if use GMB- Treachery (ias @rez dr%). On inventory cheap skillers bow 40+hp, @rez sc or life mana. Merc - infi gt + forti + gaze ias ed or andy ias fres. Optionally
Don't think I'll have enough Jah runes anytime soon to try this build out(only have ever had 1 drop and that went to my first ever Enigma) to it's full potential. An upped Wizendraw could be a decent substitute I guess. May be worth a shot if I get bored of pitzerker runs and sorceress runs.
Just wanted to add: If you're looking for a fun and different char to farm around all areas of the game, like he said - This is a fun and fairly effective build for farming...the lowish MF isn't ideal, but serviceable sure. IF you are looking to farm primarily AT (presumably mostly for TC87s) - for the love of god, just make a blizz sorc with cheaper gear and crank that MF to the sky :D
I'm farming AT like crazy with a frenzy barb, full clears, currently switched to 0 MF for socketables and runes, he is quite good there :)
My very first char was a bowazon, my friends (paladin, sorc, barb, etc.) laughed at my class/spec, until I got up to about level 90 and could waste pretty much anything on my own irrespective of players in game (even more so with a physical damage character such as said barb or pally as an ally, cause I play(ed) in bnet)

You can blast through everything pre ubers by level 75 with a buriza.

A hellrack was a luxury.
But even phys immune creatures would crack to the might of guided arrow.
Used to be guided or strafe with the rest of the points in your valk/dodge/evade depending on usage...
Then dump into multi for clearing/rushing.
Safest hellrush build EVER.
No enigma at the time, sadly. And I didnt even know you could buy a tele staff/orb and use it.
So Id use my meterorb sorc to rush thru nm til, idk, it became a problem (when my sorc was younger)...then switch to my zon.
Til I had a solid barb. Then Id use him in acts 3-5 in nm.
No respecs then. So rushing was PARAMOUNT.

I have made this on bnet so most the time I am on players 1. What is the best place to farm?
Currently at the middle of A5 with my Bowa using an Insight. This easy runeword eliminates the frantic potion usage.
How about using act 1 cold arrow merc with ice? Does it make any sense damagewise or is it just waste of runes? Trying to build that with my fire druid😅
Waste of runes, +cold dmg doesnt work for you this way

why is it important to have high attack rating on an elemental build? was curious to know why u need your physical arrow to actually hit monsters.
how did you see the item level for your gear? (e.g. your gloves shows item level 99, but required level 35)
I'm suprised you haven't mentioned Lycander's Aim as an option for bows! That bow carried me right until I finally got Ice. I even decided to upgrade it and put a Shael rune into it to get that IAS up. The + 5 - 8% to regen mana on hit was very welcome.
Now I am grinding to get my final missing piece for my gear, the Nightveil. I am wearing a Dream mask ATM and It does wonders for survival IMO because of 15% to Confuse on strike, even if the 1% to bone fetish is annoying to deal with when it happens. I don't have Enigma right now, and I probably won't get one. I'm alright with a Duress and Harmony on switch if I need to move fast. For my skills, I wanted to use fire arrows to deal with immunes, but I was kind of worried that my fire arrows wouldn't do as much as my ice arrows, especially when i switched to the Ice runeword. I like to have my damage consistent. I decided to focus on my Valk and to replace my act 2 merc with an act 1 merc with fire arrows and Faith. (because why not lol.) It's pricey and probably not as good as Infinity, but surprisingly enough, it does well against cold immunes! Plus I get a nice boost from fanaticism.
Yeah I'll agree. The moment I used my LA on hell i saw how lacking it was on damage. I had to focus on making or finding groups of enemies if I wanted to kill fast with the splash dmg of the skill sometimes.
How about using Metalgrid to create Iron Golem from Insight? I wonder if it would stay alive without the passives.
you can spec Ice bowazon with 20/20/20 on all the tree skills then put the rest on immolation arrow and support to it. works fine for player 1-5

i might watch this later. I'm guessing you didn't try the ice/strafe wrath build I recommended on your "making wrath viable" build guide.
1 point into strafe with the amount of leach you have will solve your mana issues.
If you want to try physical damage instead of exploding arrow for immunes then make cta in a bow and use strafe/multi.
1 point into multishot will do that even better.

I like Ice bowzon with jav on switch, charged strike is so good at bossing lol. but i have to use insight because no BO for mana. but jav is so strong anyways, and it can handle players up to 4/5 until it starts to slow down.
Hi Dbrunski I love Diablo 2 and you channel. You make great builds. Why you maxed penetrate ? Runeword „Ice” have „Ignore Target Defence” so always hit in target.
I think it’s because ignore target defense doesn’t work on bosses.
can you do a ice bow , with Dream helmet, with dragon armor. Holy Freeze, Holy Shock, Holy Fire. do they stack?

Hello, Doesn't Immolation arrow do more damage than Exploding arrow per same investment of skill points ?
Unfortunately, Immolation Arrow is subject to a cast delay timer. You can’t just spit out a series of Immolation Arrows the way you can with Freezing Arrow, you can shoot only one then you hav ego wait until you can shoot another. You can shoot using other skills while waiting for the delay timer to run out but it’s generally better to just use Exploding Arrow.
Fun fact, you can stack small charms with cold damage to increase freeze duration of Freezing Arrow.

Adds to the duration of cold yea at 25% effectiveness to normal but not frozen duration. Unless thats what you meant 🙂

Trying to get through Hell for the first time with this build on SP and it was a breeze normal and nightmare. I know Hell is supposed to be brutal, but it just feels somewhat tedious grinding for the necessary gear for this build. I'm sticking to it though, because it really is fun to play.
if you are having trouble, you can try to build jav on switch to help you get thru hard areas. 20 lightning fury and 20 charged strike (for bosses) gets u thru hell like cutting through butter. Best part is you dont need infinity because you have Ice and lightning, two best elements in the game.

Why not up the gloves and boots since you have the str to support it?
In a cold build, it is not necessary to have a lot of defense, monsters are frozen, and even up glovs, boots, ... , is not a significant improvement in defense, maybe u gain a +1% to monster not hit you
Where the hack do I find a matriarchal base?! Running 20 cow lvl and found one in a bad condition.... very frustrating...
What kind of merc? You get holy freeze from bow, maybe a might or prayer ?
Might will increase your mana steal, blaissed will make sure you never miss

Infinity doesn't break cold immunity.

harmony vs melody for midgame bow? which is mathematically more damage in a +2 matriarch bow?
Melody is probably best, but harmony is great if you also have Peace runeword for your armor, a free lvl 15 Valk that doesnt go away after 10secs in which you didnt have a spend a single hard point is amazing.
Miss the gold ol days, this was the best diablo game... damn they really messed this up so hard. I had made a melee amazon build turning into a werebear with max dodge/avoid/evade, fun times.

Abdul Ghattour fortitude is a physical damage based runeword, this is a magic damage based build where you get more from the skill points and the ability to teleport. Fortitude is better for a classic physical damage bow build like a faith or wind force.
I love the FreezeZon, but dude, the mana usage is ridiculous.

I mean the idea is great, but let us strip that merc from conviction aura (finding the runeword is a p i t a), and use whatever weapons and gear you (normally ) find without grinding 18 hours a day for weeks. Then send her out in the fields in hell ... I don't need to say that you won't pass act 1, do I?
In short: If you're starting out (o don't get me wrong, this is a great game), you have a lot of grinding to do before you can achieve THAT equipment.
I've always been a causal player, but during the 10 years I played the first run, I saw some of that gear he uses in the video, but certainly never any runes above ist. I did have an enigma, but I realized that I got that from another player.
Puts this video in a new light. Hail the lords of players who can achieve this, I'll certainly try, but as I've gone out hard with never trade or take any for free as of late, I probably be the forever noob ...

I finally found a +3 mat bow base and i made my first ever ice. came out -20 cold res lol! oh actually nvm its always -20. but it came out +28 cold skill damage!! 2 away from perfect

@@outlawzqc i dont remember. Prolly chaos sanctuary lol. But that being said. Ive only ever found white ones. U will rarely ever find +3 with 4 sockeys already. Ur gonna have to cube white ones to get 4 sockets. superior items cant be cubed.
If it wasnt chaos sanctuary it was the pit or worldstone. The pit is awesome. I just found a jah there yesterday
