It's realy hard to say what it better, but if we take into account that eTomb makes 5,43 attacks per round vs 4,31 Archon BotD, eTomb is like 12-13% more damaging. But like you said it's raly depends on what youare killing, because monsters usually will die in 1-2 hits, so realy benefits Of 4 FPA is not clear. It will be noticiable on fat mobs, bosses or when you are surrounded by pack of venom lords. In that case faster weapon is a winner. One more thing - Tomby has higher range and it helps. With Archon i noticed that sometimes i miss hits when in killing pack and mob stays out of my range. I would say that Tomby is slightly better but only if it's near perfect (270% ED or more).
@@Batizada1 A made an Ele Druid a while ago, in case I ever wanted to use the low Ed eth Tomb I got for cheap. Also made it because I found a 2/3volcano pelt. It was a lot of fun with massive volcano in A5 Norm while leveling. I never spec’ed to Fury, and now being reminded kinda makes me want to. I play PvM (for MFing/trading) on bnet and have 2 old laptops. I use the second for a barb and high level battle orders so I never have to mess with CTA’s, and having a high level barb for things like gold finding, horking, and UBERs is never a bad thing. Since I’m mfing, I’d prob use Enigma, the R/W is just addictive anyway. Having the barb also gives me lots of auras. Maybe Beast+Doom on the Barb, Pride on his merc with defiance, aim, or prayer. Then the Druid merc would be infinity with might. I have a mountain of good elemental damage charms; so the infinity on merc not only makes hitting much easier, it also makes immune to physi easier to kill, R/W on a merc is great, and since he gets Fana from barb in Baals throne, he’s a killing machine as well. The hard decisions are helm, gloves, boots, belt, jewelry. Halfway hoping I wouldn’t really need all the deadly/crushing gear since I can get so much raw damage with all the auras and charms. I have a good 2/res all/mana leech ammy that I’d love to use instead of highlords. And I’d love to use Jalals instead of Guillames. Travs over Gores. LoH could make sense, or I have good CB crafted gloves. I have a 24fhr/30str/life belt, but SoE is so tanky. With about +%1500 dmg from auras, the adds damage on Travs is no joke, especially versus roughly 5K-20K hp monsters.
@@Batizada1 I know gores is faster killing on paper, but the idea is to have some MF too. As I mentioned with my setup, there’s going to be two aura’ed out mercs poking away, as well as a grizzly. And mercs will have enough crushing blow that even Baal dies fast with my werewolf spectating, let alone helping. My whole point about the added damage from Travs is that it’s adding just a bit extra so that more things die in 1-2 hits anyway. I messed around and looked at the damage Travs add on my barb (I didn’t add up total ed or strength), but it looked like I was getting closer to 350-500 dmg extra. I also understand that I could get more MF with 7%s and Gores, but I plan to use a pile of ele dmg charms, paired with infinity, it’s an easy maxed-95% chance to hit and I like the ele dmg versus physical immunes. 10% crushing crafted gloves with a Highlords is enough of a CB/DS boost that I think I can use Jalals and enigma for survivability and mobility and MF. I don’t think I have a Pride, who knows how annoying it will be to get in trade, I’m on NL, so I might end up using reapers on one merc, so piles of CB/DS will just be overkill with all the decrepify. My Tomb Reaver is low Ed with 2 shaels and a Zod, so I want to say it hits .2-.3 extra attacks per second versus a double 40/15 Tomby, so the ele dmg will definitely do nice things
What do you think about using "Peace" runeword? It has +2 Critical Strike as an oskill. With only the standard HLW, Anni and Battle Command it's 42% chance to crit. I never really considered it before, but at the very least, it is an amzing budget armor.
Definitely. I like to keep one around to have on mercs as well when leveling up. Combined with an insight you get a lot of crit on the merc for late early 30's
Found a ribcracker after I saw this vid a while back and kept it for this build. Now my favorite build, it's soo fun to use even if it isn't the most efficient or OP.
When D2 LoD came out back in the day, I always started with a wolf build. Just made a new one yesterday. Had the top rabies build back in like 06 07. 101k rabies with 10k fury (with etomb for fury). Such a broken build and champ that more people should play at least once
Man some top tier items on this build. In particular the rings. Will add that a melee splash jewel from POD would be huge on something like this. It's why I play single player POD Plugy. Yes - you lose out on some features, but there's a lot to be gained as well. In particular, orbs of corruption and splash jewels. Those two items alone open up a TON of builds. Would recommend for anyone who is a bit burnt out on the regular d2.
A dropped a grey superior (12%ed) archon staff a couple days ago, but alas, it was only socketed, it was not ethereal :( I know I’ve seen the debate/discussion of which weapon is the best, but such discussions usually calculate some sort of DPS and forget that in the “real world” monsters have HP and the massive minimum damage from an eBotD Archon is one hitting a large percentage of monsters. The thing I noticed from your video was along those lines. When using Pride, you were one hitting more monsters than with Reaper’s. Don’t forget, Pride also gives a 20% chance of uninterruptible attacks. Infinity is a good way to keep your merc close as well. It’s a very underrated Merc wep on a melee char. It really relieves some of the AR pressure, and if you ever cube Baal/D/Nith small charms, a couple of the top elemental damage ones can get you to the point you’re doing 5-10% of a monsters life in ele dmg.
I like this build. Funny thing is that shape shifting druid doesnt need CTA. Ondall wisdom or mangs song lesson on switch will do just fine (boosting werewolf form). HP difference is negligible because you dont have to cast BO every two minutes, and don't have to invest points to STR to wear a spirit shield. Unless you really want to play with hireling and summons. You can buff HP even higher than CTA with skiller swaping. Its less tedious than casting BO every two minutes. Demon Limb enchant buff is also good but optional because it lasts for over 6 minutes.
My build so far •guil helm •fortitude •gore riders •Drac gloves •Verdungo •raven frost •angelic ring amulet combo •eth 3os Tomb reaver with Zod and 2x 15 40 jewels •Anni torch shape vitality skillers. I do 15k fury damage with 4K health and 18k AR and 50 all resists, my Bear has 4K health and survives most encounters I still have room for more resist small charms which will get me to 60 Rez and my helm has an open sock which I could put an um in to bring resists to 75. I dont use cta because it’s annoying to change all the time I’m a werewolf I move quickly, I hit fast and I hit hard why would I leave form outside of town I like a smooth build when I change my form that’s it now I’m in kill mode the cta is cheesy, clunky, annoying to use every minute and very un werewolf like to use.
No good! No need Angelics. It's PvM you already got tons of AR (10-12K is enough in pvm). Also Highlords - best amu for any melee. 37% DS!! So change angelic amu to highlords, and angelic ring to nice rare or crafted (with +str, dex, life leech, + life) Next part is Gloves. Lying of Hands are best gloves for melee. 350%ED can't be beaten. And dracs is not necessary outside ubertristram. You have feral rage, keep it charged. Belt - SoE is better in PvM than verdungo. Verdungo - is a PvP belt and String of Ears have MDR & life leech. The bet choise would be crafted or nive rare. Personally i used 30str/fhr/72 life/10%ow/3%ll/20% fire resist. In my build with merc aura active and TITAN build (full str) i have: - 5K-27K Fury damage (or 8,5K - 45K when factoring DS) - 2,6 life when shifted - 67% Deadky strike, 50% CB - 13k AR - maxed most important fire and light resists (rest is 50-60)
I enjoyed the Fury Druid a lot when I played like 20 thousand years ago. The only thing that sucked was when i ran out of werewolf into human form, with so low Defense, I used to get one-hit killed.
i used a timer on my table that i tapped every time i got into werewolf form.. (yeah sure you can use something on the computer and bind a hotkey with it) but this added some nostalgia to it..
The one problem with Fury: A mana burner hits you (Frozenstein, for example) and you stop dead, because when you're out of mana, Fury does not substitute a regular attack but instead does nothing.
Actually just started a Druid. I was working in a frenzy barb lvl 62 with pretty decent gear but the survivability just isn’t there. I’m hoping the druid plays out well
I found a Stone of Jordan. Andariel had it yesterday. The same day I gambled a plus 2 necromancer 24% lightning res 25 teleport coronet. I installed Diablo 2 February 2nd 2018
@@cyanide3833 I think you’re not thinking fourth dimensionally. A tomb reaver is 8 slots. And theoretically, an eth Tomby has a 1/3 chance of being 3 soc. There are many items that take up less space that have more value. A lot of bots also have a couple chars in each game. You get more drops if you are in a party with other chars that are within a screen or two. With a bot running overnight, it can easily drop several high runes a night. Leaving tomb reavers on the ground might be a choice.
What are the IAS and FHR breaking points for this build? I'm trying to work it out between socket items and charms. Thanks for the great vid! Just starting playing again after taking a 13 year break. I had played since D2 came out before that.
First D clone kill with my Fury Druid. Bonehew+2 shaels, jalal's, COH, dracul's, gore rider, string of ears, mara's, raven frost and magic ring plus strenght and fire res. When i played D2 for the first time in 02 just trying to finish the game with the possible rare/unique gear (no runewords). I understood zero of D2 back then :)
This is great TYVM. I'm going to try the budget build FD (since I'm poor). I would suggest a few words on where to find the runes/gear mentioned in these videos, especially in the budget build ones.
I found an ethereal Thunder Maul and decided to make a Breath of the Dying in it and put it on my Fury Druid to try it. The damage increase is incredible over the Ribcracker. I recommend giving it a try. I run Reaper's on my merc continuously. I also have a few points in Fireclaw to handle the physical immunes that the Reaper's doesn't break.
My fury druid only has 300 into strength and the damage using the BotD thunder maul is 3x what I do with my upped Ribcracker/stalagmite. On /players 3 I definitely clear groups much quicker using the BotD thunder maul, it isn't even close. You are correct the Ribcracker attacks faster but the BotD does so much more damage on /p3 I am killing all regular mobs in single hits. Fury level 31 skill the BoTD is over 15K damage where the Ribcracker is around 5k. I have not tried a Tomb reaver yet, I do have one so I could equip it so I can see. Thanks for the reply.
I think something you didn't focus on enough is just how valuable deadly strike is for a fury druid, as important as weapon speed. Amazons, assassins, and barbs have critical strike skills which makes it not as useful since they don't stack. Paladins it is limited to only a couple builds that will find it as useful. But for fury, the chance for double damage is always huge, and I think a lot of the under rating of the build has to do with not realizing this stat synergy.
I like Brand on switch for wolf. You don't need CTA that badly, or you can just switch it on for buffing every few minutes. Brand on the other hand is easy access to Amp Dmg. Amp dmg is cool. And the Bone Spear procs notify you that you have the wrong weapon set on.
I feel like its so light on physical damage reduction, especially considering you dont block. How about a CoA getting you to 46 total? Or at least Ber the jalals. Dungo belt would be better since you life leech so much anyways. For gloves I would say use soul drainers if you arent using reapers toll. If you arent doing a curse you should do a curse.
Grief + Lanceguard to have 100% DS... and no points in dex above what needed to wear grief. Death is a bad choise for Fury Druids because it has no speed. Best way to find Ribby - NM Andairel or just regular farming. Also you can trade ir for free or very cheap. You can use Death on zealers for 5 frame attack, but even then Fury Dudu's is better and sexier!
A lot of people forget that conviction from infinity drops monster defense as well as resistance. If you ran with (once you find one) an eth 3os reapers toll and gave your merc infinity, it would effectively eliminate the need for so much added AR.
correct, I assume the op meant to say if you find a 3os eth Tomb Reaver. Good luck, on self found I have never found an ethereal version nor a 3os one.
I think that to get a max DMG per time unit (it doesnt mean it'd be better in terms of survivability) you can experiment with botd ogre maul as wep and a titan build (all or nearly all stats into str) to take profit of str to ed bonus which is higher for mauls than other weapons. Ias breakpoint would be nice and thé average DMG very even. Keep your good work man thanks ! 😁

I don’t have earth shifter for my hybrid build but have been using a 80ias unique crossbow with some other best stuff I could find and it smacks!! I just found a eth ribcracker yesterday though so that’s exciting
I generally use Ik gear, the maul, gloves, belt, and boots. This way I hack through the immune to physicals with no real problems. Two shael runes in the hammer make him really fast, and I try and put in a percent damage ias jewel in Jala's helm. And them find a three to shape shifting skills ami and some good rings of choice like raven and bk ring.
I tried this until I made a Breath of the Dying in an ethereal thunder maul I found. The difference is incredible. Highly recommended ( if you can ). While I have never actually found a zod I have found several cham runes and cubed up to make a zod. The elemental damage the IK maul adds does make a difference against the physical immunes but there are other ways around that and once the weapon is significantly upgraded you can use superior gear in the other slots.
@@Thynqikan I made my zod the same way you did but made Botd out of an eth glorious axe. I use everything I can to my advantage like 3 skill summons ami, chains of honor armor and will sometime switch out some of the gear with other things but I really like the speed of the IK boots and the massive strength boost so that I could wear armor with over 1k defense that required 232 str without having to actually put that much into hard strength skills. The IK gear also gives mana leach. I ended up giving the glorious axe to my spin barb which gave him supper ww killing power.
I consider Dbrunski the main proponent of this build. However I've been trying to push the concept that a Grief Champion Axe might be better min-max than ribcracker or BoTD. The reason is that it gets the benefit of the Druid racial ability. So... most people agree that generally Greif is better than BoTD but that for Druid you want BoTD in a polearm because the Racial passive... Well there's a base for that. Please look again at the Champion axe range and speed. (very fast baseline for Druid). I get that it's not as "meme" but I would urge you to make one Drunski, because this build is your jam :D
Just found myself my first Ribcracker. Gonna check that build out ! But i kinda doubt its gonna be as effective as my Grief-wielding Zealer and Frenzy barb
Dbrunski I love this game but your uploads are legit/all good! No perm!!!!!! Your fun to watch :D lol I've known your channel since idk. A good vibe brought me here but the well deserved part....
@Dbrunski, slowly lvling up my fury druid (lvl 84), but a couple hundred short of 2,000 life even with Call to Arms. I have been collecting life charms, ones with damage and attack rating when I can. I was lucky and did a recipe today for a +2 shape shifting charm with 33 life on it. How do you get to 2k life without oak sage? I have the full build, with an upgraded rib cracker, I guess if I can find a Tomb Reaver the resists I get from it may help free up some charm room for some more life. I'm on single player so I don't have the torch and ammy, that must be it actually.
Are you smart or so.ething? Only one way to lnow dude, if noone else is gonna try it you have to. I went to 11 with dbrunskis wrath amazon and ended up being an insane build. You never know what sleepers are out there waiting to be min maxxed.
man , u can bring mercenary close to you hero if u make a circle or turn around to ur merc when is far away from you and he will come back to you in just one second , no teleport requiere . U should try
It was my first d2 character. I loved pre buffing my druid with +skill tree items than equipping gg damage gear. So most of my summons and SS were way up. So with the charms you like the extra atack rating GC vs the life SC ? I usually do that also. One of these days ill make my bone bear necro build.
Duriels shell? Idk if it exists in that version but its the only recommended merc armor outside of runewprds. If its good for a merc its probably good for a melee hero.

A made an Ele Druid a while ago, in case I ever wanted to use the low Ed eth Tomb I got for cheap.
@@chrisp2272 +1500% damage from auras it's like 320 raw damage with Wartravs... You can wear Gores and have more than thousand.
@@Batizada1
I know gores is faster killing on paper, but the idea is to have some MF too.
Rolling with shape shifting skillers is actually pretty dope as well 👌🏼
What do you think about using "Peace" runeword? It has +2 Critical Strike as an oskill. With only the standard HLW, Anni and Battle Command it's 42% chance to crit. I never really considered it before, but at the very least, it is an amzing budget armor.
Definitely. I like to keep one around to have on mercs as well when leveling up. Combined with an insight you get a lot of crit on the merc for late early 30's
Found a ribcracker after I saw this vid a while back and kept it for this build. Now my favorite build, it's soo fun to use even if it isn't the most efficient or OP.
What’s the best way to find ribcracker? New player here
When D2 LoD came out back in the day, I always started with a wolf build. Just made a new one yesterday. Had the top rabies build back in like 06 07. 101k rabies with 10k fury (with etomb for fury). Such a broken build and champ that more people should play at least once
First time ever playing d2 and I’m gonna try this as my first character
Man some top tier items on this build. In particular the rings.
Will add that a melee splash jewel from POD would be huge on something like this. It's why I play single player POD Plugy. Yes - you lose out on some features, but there's a lot to be gained as well. In particular, orbs of corruption and splash jewels. Those two items alone open up a TON of builds. Would recommend for anyone who is a bit burnt out on the regular d2.
Fury Druid was my personal favorite. Probably my highest level character. It was a lot of fun.
Dat RNG! double trang offhand noice
A dropped a grey superior (12%ed) archon staff a couple days ago, but alas, it was only socketed, it was not ethereal :(
I know I’ve seen the debate/discussion of which weapon is the best, but such discussions usually calculate some sort of DPS and forget that in the “real world” monsters have HP and the massive minimum damage from an eBotD Archon is one hitting a large percentage of monsters.
What about the immortal king's hammer? With a few items for set bonus it can give some extra magic damage for immunes too...
Dude the talk about Pride cracked me up I had to pause. "wowow you need to use reaper's toll" and "your Razan off in the distance doing his thing."
im really having a hard time in nightmare, any tips on what to focus on to not die repeteadly?
I like this build. Funny thing is that shape shifting druid doesnt need CTA. Ondall wisdom or mangs song lesson on switch will do just fine (boosting werewolf form). HP difference is negligible because you dont have to cast BO every two minutes, and don't have to invest points to STR to wear a spirit shield. Unless you really want to play with hireling and summons.
You can buff HP even higher than CTA with skiller swaping. Its less tedious than casting BO every two minutes.
Demon Limb enchant buff is also good but optional because it lasts for over 6 minutes.
My build so far
•guil helm
•fortitude
•gore riders
•Drac gloves
•Verdungo
•raven frost
•angelic ring amulet combo
•eth 3os Tomb reaver with Zod and 2x 15 40 jewels
•Anni torch shape vitality skillers.
I do 15k fury damage with 4K health and 18k AR and 50 all resists, my Bear has 4K health and survives most encounters I still have room for more resist small charms which will get me to 60 Rez and my helm has an open sock which I could put an um in to bring resists to 75. I dont use cta because it’s annoying to change all the time I’m a werewolf I move quickly, I hit fast and I hit hard why would I leave form outside of town I like a smooth build when I change my form that’s it now I’m in kill mode the cta is cheesy, clunky, annoying to use every minute and very un werewolf like to use.
agree ! especially with cta , I always u hoto and spirit thats it!
No good!
No need Angelics. It's PvM you already got tons of AR (10-12K is enough in pvm).
Also Highlords - best amu for any melee. 37% DS!!
So change angelic amu to highlords, and angelic ring to nice rare or crafted (with +str, dex, life leech, + life)
Next part is Gloves.
In my build with merc aura active and TITAN build (full str) i have:
- 5K-27K Fury damage (or 8,5K - 45K when factoring DS)
- 2,6 life when shifted
- 67% Deadky strike, 50% CB
- 13k AR
- maxed most important fire and light resists (rest is 50-60)
definitely one of the most fun melee builds next to the zealer
I enjoyed the Fury Druid a lot when I played like 20 thousand years ago.
The only thing that sucked was when i ran out of werewolf into human form, with so low Defense, I used to get one-hit killed.
They need to add a timer in the new game, would be immensely helpful for all skills that have a duration.
i used a timer on my table that i tapped every time i got into werewolf form.. (yeah sure you can use something on the computer and bind a hotkey with it) but this added some nostalgia to it..
@@ginofoogle6944 For you it's nostalgia, for me it's the signs of a dated game that didnt get enough love before being re-released.

I think you’re not thinking fourth dimensionally.
Would Faith be a good runeword to use for an Act 1 Merc? Will Fanaticism help with any IAS breakpoints for Werewolf?
Really fun build! Thanks for sharing :)
Hello! What do u think about wolf barbarian build? All tips from this video will work for it?
Sweet video as always. I'm waiting for your melee assassins builds Db :-)
Hey DB, how close until we get the Druid helm unidentify video?
What are the IAS and FHR breaking points for this build? I'm trying to work it out between socket items and charms. Thanks for the great vid! Just starting playing again after taking a 13 year break. I had played since D2 came out before that.
This is excellent and informative. Thanks a lot.
is there not a better belt to use than strings? we have so much life leech already
Its attack speed is way too slow. You will kill much faster with a Tombreaver or Ribcracker give it a try.
Im gonna try to build a fury fire claw druid if possible I need to look at it
Which do you prefer Drunski125? the Ribcracker or The Breath of the dying?
Why not have obedience as a weapon instead of ribcracker?
Best way is to use might pride merc you can brake physical imuns with atma
you have enough str why you use archon plate and not sacred armor?
I feel like its so light on physical damage reduction, especially considering you dont block. How about a CoA getting you to 46 total? Or at least Ber the jalals. Dungo belt would be better since you life leech so much anyways. For gloves I would say use soul drainers if you arent using reapers toll. If you arent doing a curse you should do a curse.
I can't find a Ribcracker. Which would you recommend: (1) "Grief" + Stormshield or (2) "Death" Colossus Sword)
Is bonehew with two Shael a decent weapon for Fury Druid ?
Very nice Dbrunskiiii! pretty nice Druid. Loving mine but am Using a CoH instead of fortitude.
Very nice!
max dmg gcs vs shape gcs... whats better in your opinion?
you forgot to mention the lifesteal from feral rage works on undead monsters!
A lot of people forget that conviction from infinity drops monster defense as well as resistance. If you ran with (once you find one) an eth 3os reapers toll and gave your merc infinity, it would effectively eliminate the need for so much added AR.
Wtf is 3os reapers toll???
@@yuregtushkan5028 3 open sockets
Alexander Colombo I think he means that 3 os isn’t possible on a reaper’s toll.
correct, I assume the op meant to say if you find a 3os eth Tomb Reaver. Good luck, on self found I have never found an ethereal version nor a 3os one.
@@Thynqikan I got one yesterday

Just out of curiosity, why not a Shael Rune in Ribcracker? 20 IAS
level 40 druid but what merc should i use? frost ?
I think maybe it's not a bad idea to try hellslayer with a shael rune in coupled with a high fast hit recovery armour it could be pretty fun to use.

I ended up giving the glorious axe to my spin barb which gave him supper ww killing power.
is it to build a werebear and werewolf build?? I also gave points on hunger.. currently level 34, act four

Does that work with everything in strength and nothing in life even with bad gear? Or only with high end gear?
It was my first d2 character. I loved pre buffing my druid with +skill tree items than equipping gg damage gear. So most of my summons and SS were way up. So with the charms you like the extra atack rating GC vs the life SC ? I usually do that also. One of these days ill make my bone bear necro build.
What mod are you using for your stash?
I'm playing vanilla but I was wondering what armor would be good to replace fortitude? (without ladder runewords)
Duriels shell? Idk if it exists in that version but its the only recommended merc armor outside of runewprds. If its good for a merc its probably good for a melee hero.
