- Join me as we dive into the world of fertiliser topdressing across the breathtaking landscapes of Otago, New Zealand. In this video, I share my experience of flying at low levels over the rugged terrains, demonstrating what's required to spread fertilizers effectively. I also discuss the lightbar system, a game-changer in ensuring accuracy during our applications.

Missed ya Jimbo.
Thanks great being in the cockpit again.
Blue up stay safe.
Thanks for inviting us into your office - thoroughly enjoyed that!
Man, you should do Netflix series or similar. I am watching half an hour video about fertilising some fields without skipping...
you've got a way of making what you do look easy. just flying in that environment looks scary as hell but then all the complicated systems ... wow what a ride. absolutely thrilling. can still remember my one off circuit in the backward facing "cubby hole" of an Airtruk on a Dairy farm in Kaukapakapa North Auckland back in circa 1977. ps hated it , spewed ( all the fert dust of course ... ) like flying with you tho , from comfort of my forward facing lounge chair ! Legend mate.
Facing the wrong way would throw me out of whack, too! 😆
You got Murry Stewart the Turkina Valley man with you , Nice digital dash,
Great video Jimbo. Loved watching you run that lightbar. I’m new and still struggling 😂
Very interesting thanks Jimbo. Always wanted to fly and fly ag but colour blindness meant I could never get a commercial rating. Great to come along for the ride though. Cheers. Stan.
Fantastic commentary and beautiful flying! Keep it up!
Great overview of a professional job.
Great video, thank you for posting, this environment demonstrates you need to be 100% on your game all of the time.
Fly safe. All the best from the U.K.
Great video jimbo welcome back!
What a great office you have.

Super, my friend 🙂
Thanks Petr 😎
Better and better!... why the hell did I take an office job! 😜
Thanks Jimbo.
Cheers 😁
Awesome. I had no idea all those rocks needed fert
I had no idea you pay so much attention to the thermals/ridge/wave lift when climbing , good stuff! Sounds like it's all good training for your glider flying career
Haha, it sounds like we need to do a swapsies. Your version looks much more complex than throwing fert around 😆
Great stuff; I’m amazed you aren’t getting more views 👍🏻
Cheers 😎
Awesome video Jimbo, is this the Nevis Valley?
Cheers, Cadrona Valley 👍
great part of the world! Are there any Ag operators based around Wanaka?
Sure are!
The topdressing is for hay production? Do the farmers notice streaks if a pass is misplaced? Do you prefer the AT's or the PAC's?
Fert for grass for stock 👍 depends on the product as to whether or not you'll notice striping. Both aircraft have strong points, and both suit NZ very well 💪
Brilliant 😎😎👍
I wish I had done that when I was younger instead of driving trucks. I had my private license and I worked on my IFR rating. I should have just went ahead and got my commercial and went to crop duster School. Come to find out the government probably would have paid for it....
