    The panel quilt looks like the way Donna Jordan has done a few panels. It really has a nice effect! I like the backings you chose! I like that border, too, on the sampler quilt! It is quite unusual! Sharon’s quilts are so pretty! Maria’s husband is going to be happy with his mother’s work…and yours! That’s a lot of squares! I cannot begin to imagine how much time Maria’s mother-in-law spent on the flower garden quilt!! You did a beautiful job on all the quilts! Such memories!

      Sometimes we may need to put it away for awhile, but always return to it at some point. Even if we don’t like the finished product, I guarantee someone else will love it! ♥️

    What gorgeous quilts!! I especially love Sharon’s that have the roses on them. Not only are the fabrics gorgeous but such unique but simple designs. I wish that I had been quilting when these fabrics were out there, but we are so lucky to have so many beautiful fabrics similar to these. There is just something about the vintage cottons that I love. You did such beautiful quilting on all of them and the backings and pantograms that you selected are perfect, as always!! I love it that these are all older quilts that were in need of finishing. So wonderful!! Such a variety for you to work your magic on. Thank you so much for sharing……………….

    OMG! What a blast from the past.I've been making quilts for 30+ years and I remember those fabrics. The little calico prints were what was available. Then when the bolder prints started coming out we were mesmerized by them. I'm glad she finished them. Ya know, things come in cycles. Those fabrics may be the cat's meow once again. The final quilt was my favorite. Someone will love those quilts for sure.

    I always look forward to your videos. I also love your sewing room very cosy. But best of all are the quilts. If you start a quilt finish it. If you don’t like it give it to someone who will. I have made quilts I liked at the start but then wasn’t feeling it anymore, a friend would say I love that and I give it them and they cherish it. So a quilt is never wasted. I collect antique quilts and I must say some are not perfect but to me they are perfect

    I love that your family plays cards. I am from Marion, IN originally and we played a lot of card games, dice and dominoes whenever we got together. I love watching your videos, Tammie and I enjoyed hearing about what your kids are doing and their craft talents. The checkerboard baby quilt is so cute and the checkerboard game mat using mini pumpkins as checkers. Adorable!
    I am so happy to see that Sharon's quilts are coming to life as completed and usable quilts! They are LOVELY and I enjoy hearing your thoughts on the backings and pantographs used. I love everything about them!
    What a wonderful tribute to Maria's mother in law and a treasure for her husband to receive and be able to use something his mama made! Beautifully quilted. Both are family heirlooms for sure. You are blessed, Tammie with a unique talent and a heart to share it with others.

    Such beautiful quilts!! Sharon's panel quilt I believe is a pattern from Jordan Fabric. I absolutely loved the mother in law quilts, especially the grandmother's flower garden. I am working on paper pieced 1.5 inch hexagons in my spare time. Would love to do a quilt if I ever get enough of them. In the meantime they are fun to work on when you can't get to a sewing machine. And I agree, all quilts should be finished. Some one will love them even if you no longer do.

    This year I finished a quilt that I started in 1987; it was all hand pieces & quilted except the borders. My cousin longarmed the borders for me & I had actually saved fabric for the binding. It is now on the bed of our guest / sewing … where I can see it every day! It’s never too late ❤

    I agree! I was clearing out my office & turning into my craft room now that I've retired. I found a hand pieced wedding ring quilt that I started in the 80's. I really should finish it! And I have quilt blocks from my Grandma Erma's, Aunt Maude. I will put them together or hand them over to my daughter who quilts. Perhaps she will finish them up someday!

    Nice door prizes! I have a small cutting mat like that. I use it for trimming and squaring up as I'm piecing and for small blocks. I lay it on top of my large cutting mat in an effort to reduce damage to my bigger mat.

    All of these quilts are beautiful! I finished my own Grandmother's Flower Garden Quilt a month ago after years of hand-stitching it and have chosen to machine quilt it. I bought end-to-end patterns for my Embroidery Machine. I scoured the net to find what a GFG quilt would look like machine quilted and found it with your last quilt!! So pretty. My only concern is I already put on a green border to be the "grass" and I don't know if I'm going to stitch all of the way through or stop at the green. Then I would add the traditional stitching along the hexagons on my sewing machine and add binding. I agree, get these quilts finished! I even bought 2 old scrappy quilts from estate sales and have finished them as well.

    Tammie, I hope to put a quilt in the mail soon. I am working on a technique new to me, wherein I have to take my time.
    I believe the print for your niece's quilt is directional, so can’t you just remove the excess width? The excess could be added to the length.

    • @tammieearnest
      @tammieearnest  Год назад

      You are correct, I could have. It didn’t matter to me which direction the fabric went, as long as it was all the same direction. Hope that made sense. 😁
