Thank you for simplifying that by doing step by step. You took the intimidation right out of the block. Yay Pat! When I see pictures of London now, I’m amazed at how the landscape has changed since 1992. Lived in England five years and loved going to London every chance I had.
You know Pat you're a wonder. The amount of work you must have done before filming that ferris wheel block so that you could explain it ....Wow amazing!
Thanks for the kind words. 😊
@PatSloan your welcome... it's well deserved
Have ridden the Eye in 2023. Very large, perfect perch to view the sites up, up, high, Everyone should go there. Larger than the Ferris wheel in Las Vegas or Chicago.
Dresdens always need to be corrected, so your circle lays flat. Yours turned out so cute!
Thank you!
The London Eye is an amazing ride with such a beautiful view! It’s near the Tate Modern (my favorite) and some great restaurants in the area!
Wow Pat!!! Your block is beautiful!!! Great tutorial as always.
Thank you so much!
Was in London in June. The EYE was awesome to see.
Omg Pat.... let's share a nice flakey, buttery croissant!!! Nothing like it! I'm with you all the way!❤
The Ferris wheel is AWESOME, Pat!! Love your step-by-step. ❤
Thank you!
A good buttery croissant is heaven!
Thanks for the great demonstration of the Eye block! Everyone's blocks are amazing!!! Love them all.
Love the Ferris wheel…..and everything else ! LOL
Thank you!
That Eye is fantastic, you are too! Enjoy watching & learning, thank you.
Thank you!
I love your ferrouswheel ‼️
Thank you!
I have been to London and have seen it, but not ridden on it. Even from across the river it's ginormous. It moves quite slowly, as well.
Your stitching is great Pat!
Thank you!
Whew! Your London Eye is gorgeous! The gingham gives it the perfect movement and your Paradise Park is a perfect match. Loved seeing so many friends blocks too!
Thank you!
That London Eye block was no joke! It looks amazing. That center fabric was definitely perfect for it.
Thank you!
The eye came out so great. That was a fabulous fabric for the hub!!
Ich liebe das Auto im Blumendesign! Großartig!
that one is so nice!
I’m not an experienced enough quilter to take on something like this one… someday ⛅️… sew much fun to see this advanced project in the making 😊
I love this Ferris wheel!! The red circle fabric is perfect!!!!!😊
Thank you!
Yes, my husband and son and I road the London Eye. It was AWESOME. it was a beautiful day and quite a spectacular view.
So satisfying when it all goes together. Step by step. Thanks for your detailed teaching!
Thank you!
love your ferris wheel!
Thank you!
Im in your club, love a good croissant.
I love seeing all the beautiful blocks!! Great job everyone!! Thank you Pat ❤️
My father was in the military and we lived in England. So fairly frequently to London. But it was quite different back then. 1965 to 1968. The ferris wheel was not there. The original by London bridge was still there, not in Arizona. Lots of other changes.
A fun place to live! I don't think any place is the same as the 60s .. lots of changes since then
Wow Pat! That was intense. I enjoyed watching the process. It turned out perfect! The changes of appearance throughout the process is what I love about quilting. Well done!
Thank you for watching!
That block is over the top amazing ❤!
I love your quilt so far. This is a quilt pattern that would not catch my interest on first glance but you just draw me right in to wanting to do it. One of these years maybe 😉
You did an amazing job on your Ferris wheel! The whole quilt is wonderful….. so many people have made such great blocks. I would love to have made this, but too much else on my plate 😊. I enjoy watching all of you making this wonderful quilt! I always learn great tips and tricks❤
Thank you!
Wow...your London town quilt is amazing....I am so impressed with the ferris wheel block......thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Your Ferris wheel is gorgeous! Everyone’s blocks are terrific!
I need to get back to my London Town project - thanks for the detailed explanation of how to do the Eye!
I just had to tell you that I am so impressed with all the talent and work that you put into this block! Many kudos to you! Wow, just wow!
Thanks so much for the compliments!
The Eye is a gorgeous block and your precision is impressive.
Thank you!
Lovely Ferris wheel!! Thank you for all the details!!
WOW, I love that block , and your center is Fabulous ❤❤❤
Thank you!
I was on the London Eye 22 years ago
Oh yes the London Eye is HUGE! If I remember correctly each rotating carriage can hold 15/20 people and the wheel is so high that on a clear day you get an amazing view over the London Skyline. As a brit living close-ish to London I went in the early days of it opening and a couple more times but that was several decades ago. I'd highly recommend it if anyone is visiting plus as it is close by also pre book a guided tour of our Houses of Parliament . After airport style security the first area you enter is the oldest part, Westminster Hall, where our late Queen was lying in state before her funeral. Very interesting tour and compliments the Scenic Views from the London Eye. Alternatively or as well a Cruise down the River Thames to Tower of London or beyond is brilliant. Coming back to quilting it's amazing to see how Nicola has managed to capture the feel of the Eye in her block.
Hi Pat! Thank you for your videos and all you do! I was fortunate enough to travel to Europe as a chaperone/teacher for the Illinois Ambassadors of Music tour group in the summer of 2017. We visited and performed in 7 countries in 10 days! It was a whirlwind! We went up in the “Eye”. It was a wonderful way to view the entire area. Big Ben was all covered up while under construction at the time.
that must have been a whirlwind!
Your London Eye turned out so well! My daughter and I took a Mother-Daughter trip to England in May 2022 and we rode on the London Eye. It was thrilling! It is so tall I was a little bit scared but am so glad I did it. We went to the Liberty store also and that was (probably) a once in a lifetime experience. So many beautiful fabrics!
that was a fun trip!
Thank you for showing us the details to make it easier to understand.
❤ a good croissant 🥐
Butter makes everything better! Love a good croissant 😊
me too!
So happy to see that you’re working on the London eye today that is my next block. When we went to London in 2018, we went on the eye, a wonderful experience. You can actually get married and have a wedding party of 45. Pat your London eye turned out beautiful. Wish me luck on mine. Thank you for sharing.👍❤️😊
wow!
Yes pat me and my son's went on the London eye. My son's loved it. Me not so much. Scared heights But it's a beautiful view. We had a nice sunny day to view.
i bet it was amazing!
Love the Eye-perfection ❤️😊
Thank you!
I am not doing this project since I felt no connection to London. However, I have to give everyone credit who is doing it! This seems to be an intense sewing experience:)
I feel the same way . I have enjoyed watching the process and will be trying the techniques on other things I make .
Pat, you are doing a beautiful job!
Yes, I have been to London and have gone on the Eye! It is a an awesome slow ride that has beautiful views! Your block looks great! Thanks Pat!
must have been wonderful!
The London Eye is fantastic .. you just walk on as if going in an elevator, walk around the cubicle or sit down. The distance you can see is fantastic. When we were there, there was a graduation party being celebrated complete with cupcakes and an oat race on the Thames River.
how fun!
Amazing! 💜💜💜
Wow! So cool!
Wow everyone did an outstanding job beautiful ❤them all
❤Your work is amazing! Love all the colors!
Thank you!
So pretty Pat. You do nice work. Love love love it.
Fabulous!❤
OMG! Your London Eye is gorgeous! I really need to get started on this quilt. I'm hoping to get it made for my husband's birthday in May. We'll see how it goes. Did you tell us where you got your clock fabric? I am going to need a clock face for Big Ben so I need to find a face that will fit that space. I love all the choices you've made for the fabrics you are using.
Than you! He will love it! the clock fabric was given to me. try looking for tim holtz fabric lines
Love this pattern
Always enjoy watching ❤
Beautiful
I miss living in London. So many wonderful things to see and do there. I feel so lucky to have had the experience of living abroad. I'm sure you feel the same way, Pat, having lived in Germany. Speaking of which, I wonder if there's a quilt we could make that's all about Germany?
It was a great experience living in Europe. As a kid I didn't have the same experience an adult would, but it was fun!
We were in London - the line for the 'Eye' was too long...we skipped it.
what a shame to miss it
I kniw what you mean about having a real croissant, there is a big xifference.I am that way with chocolate too.Why waste calories on a sub par chocolate.nope, give me quality stuff!
Get the good stuff!
Love this Paradise Park fabric for backgrounds so, so much! I think I could use a whole bolt of it if I had it. Anyone have info for best place to obtain online? 🧵
it has been out for awhile, you can ask in my FB group, maybe someone has a store that still have it
Fabulous!❤
