I think the combat system was a unique concept which wasn't explained or executed as well as it could have been. A modern remake could polish it, offer a better tutorial, a maybe even more monsters and different playable characters such as Mothra or Kong.
Agreed! This is one of those games where you're supposed to read the manual that comes with it (includes story-relevant points), but a tutorial's pretty much essential if it were to ever be remade in the modern day.

In fact, the reason stages are on a timer is because of his incredible fighting spirit - once the time runs out, it's actually his fighting spirit overwhelming the control box and destroying it, freeing him from human control. I have a code for that, I put it together myself. I can give it to you, but I'm unsure if it'll work for the Japanese version. Its also buggy, because most of the monsters were only coded to be effected by regular Godzilla's attacks.

It's a different mecha godzilla in this one it's the one that g4 made after mecha ghiodorah was beaten. The original was controlled by space monekies. I think the versus mecha godzilla reboot there were problems with so the us released changed it to the original evil mecha godzilla.

Ugh, I HATE fighting Biollante in this game. She always gives me such a hard time. Stupid body slam counters. I swear, I punch her, and ALL it gives me for attacks is body slams! I just wish there was a code to play as Super Godzilla for the whole game. THAT'D be awesome.
