I mean, with the entire city mechagodzilla could attack from many more points. Like attack from every angle. Ofc he can rebuild his body, which would have been awesome.
It is implied that it's AI has determined that confronting Godzilla Earth on a frontal confrontation would go horribly wrong. Which is proven to be true for many, many kaiju did attempt this. In it's City Form, sure it may no longer be as mobile. Then again, it is already hard for most Kaiju to out run Godzilla, but it has now the added benefit of enhanced defences. Plus it can serve as a field operations base for the off chance that it's creators might return to the planet
In some way I hope some of this dude's design is in someway incorporated to a future Ledgendary Mechagodzilla. C'mon, we all sorta want Mechagoji in the films don't we?
If I were to make a Godzilla film, I would make MechaGodzilla resemble the anime design (along with characteristics of kiryu and MechaGodzilla Showa and Heisei).
This is actually baffling to me that many people think this Mechagodzilla is weak just because it didn't fought Godzilla Earth (even though it did, since Mechagodzilla City is literally Mechagodzilla). Are we forgetting what kind of power house Godzilla Earth actually is and the fact Anime MG actually nearly killed it? Or the fact that Nanometal, the very is basically the grey goo scenario made "real"? Anyway, I personally don't care that Mechagodzilla didn't fought Godzilla physically, because I don't think it was really what the writers were going for. Yes, it would have certainly more entertaining, but honestly, I am satisfied enough not to complain several times about how it didn't battle Godzilla, and to deem it a total failure. At least design wise, because I think Heisei MG is worse. At least Anime MG was meant to look alien and there's a certain charm to it IMO (it's not as good as the Showa MG and Kiryu though). Heisei MG honestly is so bland that it makes the early 80s - 90s American sedans look inspired in comparison.
Ilker-sama Codename: Shrapnel It really is weird because if it weren't for the heat then GE would've been killed. Or if MG has been able to fight him when it was originally intended to it likely would've been successful.
I agree with you in the fact that this mechagodzilla would be a powerful adversary had it gotten the chance to fight. And their are some aspects of the design I find interesting, there just isn’t enough for me to say I actually like it. And the whole city shtick was done so poorly it left a sour taste. Even being as a lifeless machine mechagodzilla should have a echo of personality to it no matter the incarnation. And yes supermechagodzilla is a veer bland version I have no love for either.
Mechagodzilla City is like Mothra Leo, still a Mothra but not like the most common depiction of her. Same thing with MechaGCity. It almost feel like a brand new kaiju rather than just another mere MechaG and that’s not a bad thing. Anyway I see that people are still salty about the absence of a fight... that's not a big deal afterall.
As creative as it sounds, there is a big issue that I can detect. The absence of a tried and true kaiju fight. To take away a kaiju battle is to take away the essence of Godzilla. Mechagodzilla's original form had outstanding potential but was unfortunately used as background material. I get having the humans use their brains to find out Godzilla's weakness using MG City's amazing AI was a good thing, but they could have done way more with it. Have MG's AI interact with the humans, something that very few kaiju have ever done. (examples, Kiryu, albeit briefly, and Minilla, even though it was a dream.) On top of that, have the AI be a good character, have it laugh, (or at least try to) when interacting with the other characters. When first discovered, MG is alone and cold like the machine it is, but it opens up to the cast while forming the strategy. Eventually, after forming the plan, MG would plant its data into the MG body, outside of the city, then fly over to Godzilla Earth, with the human's plan in mind, cue epic fight that involves all of MG's cool new powers, then give the tragic scene where MG is destroyed, but Godzilla Earth is destroyed in doing so because of the humans' plans. (much like Godzilla vs Mothra, Ghidorah, and Baragon)
@@Konh-Minh While it's true that kaiju battle are interesting and there could be a way in which Mechagodzilla City could fight with the Mecha body and still remaining a City, I'm pretty sure that kaiju fights aren't something necessary in a Godzilla movie. I mean the original one and Shin Godzilla didn't have one for example.
@@mattiaberti9160 perhaps making a replica of its original body from the city. Then have it fight godzilla, learn his weakness, and then the humans can make a plan to exploit the weakness. Having the humans be the only ones to take godzilla down removes the series' charm.
Except Mothra Leo is still a giant monster. They took a character and turned it into a location lol if we were making a Godzilla movie and you never saw this anime and I suggested turning mechaGodzilla into a couple buildings that shoot at Godzilla you’d laugh me out of the building
If we only saw mechagodzillas full potential for at least one more time in the anime trilogy and franchise It would have been nie if the bilusaloudo actually *remade* mechagodzilla using the city but bigger and improved that would be cool
In my school vr game, according to Goalius and Queen Nova said that it is deemed to be dangerous. Hell Goalius took on 10 Vultures and lured him into a trap that ended up with a geothermal detonation
Well at least MegaGodzilla city has plenty resemblance to its previous incarnations with more details on appearance and abilities, like 1. Nanometal - when Godzilla reaches the trap point and liquid nanometal traps him, it’s almost as if MegaG himself, the one looking down on Godzilla like a spirit was the liquid nanometal trapping Godzilla. 2. Computer and A.I. - Almost like the third MegaG whenever it takes orders orders or whenever it goes berserk when it hears Godzilla’s roar. 3. Nanometal Particle Diffusing-type Thermal Energy Buffer Layer - The first MegaG when it uses it’s force field to block Godzilla’s atomic breath by twisting it’s head with rapid speed. 4. Laminated Heat-resistant armored plate - just like the second MegaG’s armor plate. 5. Railguns - All the time that all the MegaGs are firing missals or lasers on Godzilla. 6. EMP Harpoons - The second MegaG firing two harpoons in Godzilla’s second brain near the end of the fight. 7. The Vultures - Let’s just say that they took after MegaG’s flight. 8. The trap point structures like MegaG’s fingers clushing Godzilla in it’s hand. 9. All the buildings are like limbs or organs with pulsing sounds, some structures resembling vains, and along with the control center acting as the heart and brain. 10. And finally scarlet Godzilla defeating MegaGodzilla City at the end of the battle - Godzilla defeating super MegaGodzilla with the red atomic ray at the end of the fight.
You know I’m 15 and I’ve loved Godzilla since I was 7 and I have to say this is one of my favorite Mechagodzilla’s because it’s so interesting on how it works and I love the assimilation ability very interesting

The design is really cool, but it is really disappointing that we never saw it in action... So brilliant of a concept, and so awesome of a design, and the only thing we saw in the film is a head
For MechaGodzilla City to work, the city should've been used to defend MechaG as the machine recovered, and while MechaGodzilla was still being completed, we could introduce the Vultures and the City could be used as an initial way to fight Godzilla, but when the nanometal from the City's defense was destroyed, Mecha G would then appear, and take on Godzilla one on one.

@@ethanwebster2501 gigan was in other movies and did his own shit. Unless you specifically liked his final wars inclusion I don't get your point. Especially since gigan actually did effect the story in final wars unlike other kaiju
I'm not a fan of the Godzilla anime, it just feels pretty empty. I especially hate the Mechagodzilla design (just needlessly overly complicated). However, there is a MMD video made by a fan which shows this Mechagodzilla in action against Godzilla Earth, and it looked awesome.
JacobKaiju I saw that vid as well, it should have been in the movie.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for the heads-up on this fan animation... It was only 18 min long but managed to be a 1000 times more entertaining than both of the current episodes combined. Creating a Mecha and transfering itself in it is useless, it would make itself just a good target. Ubiquity in the city and weapons in it are a better option.

I know a lot of people didn't like Godzilla city on the edge of battle but I liked it a bit. The one thing I didn’t like is the design of this Mechagodzilla and how he didn’t actually fight Godzilla. Also I may have cried a little at the end of it. I have no regrets.
Apparently Haruo's voice actor(Chris niosi) was legitimately in tears when he voiced the last scene.

Viewers: Oh cool! The producers went with mechagodzilla for the anime trilogy! I can’t wait to see the an awesome kaiju smackdown with a lot of new and refreshing action to give it some variety!
Producers: Actually it’s just going to be the exact same climax as the first movie but with a bigger emphasis on the dangers of technology and yadah yadah symbolism stuff.
Viewers: Oh. Well are there going to be any cool visuals with a new design for this beloved and iconic movie monster?
Producers: Yeah for sure!
Viewers: Yay I can’t wait to see some cool robot Godzilla shots with screentime worthy of this amazing potential with the character!
Producers: oh well actually it’s just a big collection of soccer balls with chrome paint. More of a city than a monster. Oh but you’ll be happy with mechagodzilla’s new look before that happens.
Viewers: Oh boy I can’t wait!
Producers: Yeah you can see him really well on those tiny computer screens in the background of those three frames for two seconds in that one scene of the first five minutes of the first movie!
Viewers: My god you idiots have no clue what you are doing.
Producers: sure we do! Have some more SYMBOLISM AND METAPHORS FOR DANGERS OF TECHNOLOGY WHILE SHOWING YOU NONE OF THE ACTION YOU EXPECT FROM A GODZILLA MOVIE WHILE DELIVERING SOME OF THE WORST AND MOST BORING FILM YOU’VE EVER SEEN.
Viewers: Okay bye.
Producers: No wait! We haven’t even summoned the inter dimensional gravity demon that breaks reality and eats planets!
Viewers: well that kinda sounds cool.

Oh and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE. Also did we mention that our ending is darker and more disappointing than Season 8 of Game of Thrones?

This is one of those jokes that only works if you keep to 3 or 4 lines, but becomes as bad as the writing of the films if you drag it out.
Im really glad that fan from asia used the info from the movies and books in his/her godzilla vs mechagodzilla battle
I don’t care what people say, I liked this Mechagodzilla, design wise at least
Same, my friend
@America Chavez he's no really any more, or less evil than the showa Mechagodzilla.
Bro I think everyone liked the design. Hell I loved it, but the point is it was never given to us. We got a city instead.
A question I always have is, if Mechagodzilla could use his nano technology to rebuild an entire city, why didn’t he just use it to rebuild his body?
About that
This is actually baffling to me that many people think this Mechagodzilla is weak just because it didn't fought Godzilla Earth (even though it did, since Mechagodzilla City is literally Mechagodzilla).
Ilker-sama Codename: Shrapnel I agree with you totally man
Ilker-sama Codename: Shrapnel It really is weird because if it weren't for the heat then GE would've been killed.
YES THANKS WIKIZILLA!
@@Konh-Minh
While it's true that kaiju battle are interesting and there could be a way in which Mechagodzilla City could fight with the Mecha body and still remaining a City, I'm pretty sure that kaiju fights aren't something necessary in a Godzilla movie.
I mean the original one and Shin Godzilla didn't have one for example.
@@mattiaberti9160 perhaps making a replica of its original body from the city. Then have it fight godzilla, learn his weakness, and then the humans can make a plan to exploit the weakness. Having the humans be the only ones to take godzilla down removes the series' charm.
but if they killed Godzilla earth in this one, then we wouldnt get to see him fight ghidora in the next one

Well at least MegaGodzilla city has plenty resemblance to its previous incarnations with more details on appearance and abilities, like
I can imagine the Avengers theme playing over Godzilla attacking Mechagodzilla City.
You know I’m 15 and I’ve loved Godzilla since I was 7 and I have to say this is one of my favorite Mechagodzilla’s because it’s so interesting on how it works and I love the assimilation ability very interesting
If it makes anyone better, a MMD filmmaker made a video of how the final battle should have been. He even added a few tweaks to Mechagodzilla as well.

Honestly, I was fine with MG and Godzilla Earth not fighting hand to hand combat. Technically they still fought. I was invested in the ideas and story (even if the characters are a bit stale), and I'm excited to see the finale.
By the way everyone, it's clear Godzilla Earth and Ghidorah are fighting, they're legitimately hyping it up. They even showed footage on Twitter of Ghidorah moving through space towards what might be the Aratum.
I think you meant "wasted potential"
I'm a little confused. Is mechagodzilla city sentient?
In a way, yes. It has an advanced independent A.I., and it merges with the consciousness of everyone its Nanometal assimilates.
