I just watched this and the Ghidorah one. You and your team did SO much better than the anime trilogy; thank you for doing these awesome monster designs justice and actually making them DO something! Those movies had so much missed potential, and THIS is what they should have been. Amazing work!
For those not in the know, these abilities that MechaGodzilla uses in this fan video are the actual weapon designs and concepts for MechaGodzilla in the movies if he would have used them. The designers actually made weapon descriptions and some concept art to give an idea. All of them would have used for the anime movies had they not decided to destroy him.

THIS. IS. AMAZING. The way they move just KILLS ME. Godzilla holds himself upright, looking prideful, while MechaGoji is more low to the ground and vicious. The whole fight is just THRILLING.
You know what is amazing about this, everything Mecha-godzilla does in this fight is an actual ability this version had, the whole arsenal was perfectly replicated and utilitized, bravo sir or madam, you deserve a reward for putting this much love, and energy into this phenomenal animation
You know, multiple abilities for Mechagodzilla were from the details for it from the website. As for the railguns, they’re from the Kiryu saga, while the missiles are traditional abilities used by Mechagodzilla. The battleship cannons and plasma swords, I think are weapons that this guy came up with.

Yeah. To be honest, I did find the premise of the anime trilogy interesting and I liked many of the characters. What I really liked about the trilogy was the complex morals behind it. With Monster Planet showing just how small humanity is compared to the wrath of the Earth, the chose between two evils in City on the Edge of Battle, and the dilemma of purpose to be found in a finite life in The Planet Eater. But as everyone has pointed out, the biggest problem with the films are the battles. Mecha-Godzilla’s and Ghidorah’s potentials were wasted so badly. The city was an interesting concept, but with 20,000 years to spare, why didn’t Mecha-Godzilla just work on rebuilding itself to take on the larger Godzilla Earth? Ghidorah was the biggest disappointment. With its design and portrayal, I was expecting on of the most epic battles between it and Godzilla, but instead all we get to see is it’s heads come out of portals and bite Godzilla. It’s useless to complain about it now, but if they spent the same amount of effort and work like these animations, the anime trilogy would have been legendary in my opinion.

Whoever made this... Please do King Ghidorah some justice, make this Anime version something Badass! Something the fans can actually appreciate like you've done with Mech Godzilla.
The anime did okay with the concept. AnimGhidorah is a being made of PURE ENERGY therefore is literally impossible to beat, however all energy requires a driver. There's a special eye that allows Ghidorah to see, that's used by the main bad guy(as usual). GojiEarth can't fight back against AnimGhidorah since his attacks literally go through him while Ghidorah decimates GojiEarth. After realizing that Ghidorah is a power beyond their control, the protagonists stop and defeat the main bad guy all while destroying the controller eye. Ghidorah stops, GojiEarth can now for some reason grab him, yeet him into his worm hole bowl, then assblast him with the Atomic Beam. Really the only problem was that Goji could somehow grab Ghidorah even though his hands were phasing through him through the entire fight.
Nathan Nguyen Because the eye gem from Metphies is what’s connecting from the void to our reality. His Dimensional powers allow him to enter our reality yet remain untouchable. When the gem broke, he was forced to follow our rules of physics and can be touched.

Skinny Platnuim i don’t know but it definitely feels that way. In the 1st movie, he was in for about 2min (not counting Filius), in 2nd one it was 5min max and in the very last one, I think it was less than 10min
You have just set the standard bar higher for fan animations my friend, great work. This is what we need, people pushing the standards higher and higher everyday. You and your team have lots of talent, this was really well made and is movie material. 💪
@Godzilla 9999 _And yet_ he _deux ex machina'd_ up a brand new attack that he had previously not had _despite_ having _significant_ internal injuries, being run through _and_ having that piercing object still stuck in him. He still shrugged it off, he still survived, he still shows absolutely zero signs of injury or impairment in the moment or afterwards. Though I am not a Godzilla fan, I have seen enough _tokusatsu_ to know that when a monster gets _that level_ of damage, they back down and lick their wounds at the very least, and _rarely_ "tis but a flesh wound!". Even Godzilla himself has been show reeling from heavy attacks in many of his movies, to the point where he needs to back off and regenerate a bit. But in this case, strictly because the script said so and _not_ because "physics don't apply to me, you puny humans!", I do not like what happened in this video and call bullshit.

While it's described as "Godzilla storing 5 years worth of energy" for that attack, it's been 20,000 years of Godzilla Earth essentially growing in power so it works here. Why even complain, the point of the video is just to see Godzilla Earth fight Anime Mechagodzilla. Just enjoy the fight.
It is in the sense of the length of this video. It's rare to see fan made CG videos this long. It must of taken forever. That is how it is an accomplishment.
Wow!! If the anime Mechagodzilla had looked and sounded anything like this in the movie, it would have been exciting to see for sure. While I still like the concept of Mechagodzilla City, it has no sense of character which hurts it in the long run.
That could have come out in the movie but the directors of the film had no ideas how it would start and how the battle would end now we will wait as it will be the battle between godzilla earth and king ghidorah
the problem with mechagodzilla city was only using the name itself. now if the city formed a new mechagodzilla or it was just called nanometal city, then there would not have been any issue. the fact that the mechagodzilla only appears briefly in the first film was a let down. I was hoping the city was going to bring it back.

This is exactly what I wanted to see in the movie. Still, I like City in the Edge of Battle, but that fact that the battle between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla wasn't there like we wanted it to be made me very disappointed.
honestly, I found city on the edge of battle to be more entertaining than planet of monsters despite the issue I had with how mechagodzilla was portrayed.
What is insane is that Godzilla isn't even using a fraction of the red spiral ray's power here. Remember, he used to destroy a celestial object that was 30 km wide with a mass comparable to our moon and he did when he was only 50 meters tall and used energy that he had been storing for only two years. If he didn't use any of that energy until now, then you can only imagine how powerful it might be and I'm betting that he has enough energy to maybe even completely shatter the earth if he were to use it to its full potential.
Yup. I have a hunch he gets his power directly FROM Earth. So....what you saw with the moon meteor was only a fraction of it's power. Remember, he's able to convert heat into energy and vice versa. Imagine the entire core of the Earth, it's thermoelectric energy of it spinning etc. I'm no physics expert but it's mind boggling amount of energy.

Far better than the actual trilogy, well done, the glowing eyes, and atomic breath actually coming out of his mouth near the end there really help the design in my opinion.
Indeed, what were the producer's thinking when they said "Mechagodzilla" is gonna be in the second "Godzilla Anime Trilogy" and yet all or excitement died when we instead just watched an almost lame fight between the G-Man and the three Vultures.
Could still be, i rather like this anime G trilogy, and the messages and symbolism it provides, i am personally believe the belasoludo and mecha G aren't finished yet, either they will return in the final movie or, should the final movie do well enough for another trilogy we will see it there
For me, Godzilla's calm composure is the most unsettling thing about this whole fight. I also like how this shows Godzilla is, in the end, no better than humanity. He changes the environment around him to suit his wants and needs and when it comes down to it is willing to cause widespread destruction on a level comparable or greater than us.
While I did enjoy the movie that we got, City on the Edge of Battle could've definitely been a whole lot better in terms of kaiju action. what sir (or madam) have done is make one of the best fan animations that I've seen, it feels wonderful that there are people out there who care about the franchise this much to create spectacular fan animations like this. THIS is what should've happened. The one thing I hate in this series is the overall depiction of the big guy and the other monsters. The prequel novels gave us so much cool shit to work with, but no. It's just the big guy who rules the world. No smog choked Hedorah wasteland, no NYC overrun as a borderline Xenomorphic Zilla nest, no Barem covered Australia. This movie should've been about the monsters, but no.
Every Godzilla movie is about the monsters. I enjoyed the fresh perspective focusing on the humans, and having Godzilla be an obstacle to be avoided. That would have been rad to see more of this continuity and the world building surrounding it, but I think what we got has merit as well.

@@MyReligionIs2DoGood Not sure how many Godzilla movies you've seen, but I can tell you, about 90% of them has the humans as the main focus 90% of the time. Godzilla is the titular character, but he's mostly a back drop piece that is only there to bring a reason for the story. Sort of like Zelda in the game series named after her. In the original Zelda, we don't see her till the last two minutes. Ocarina of Time we see her for maybe 30 minutes max, out of the several hours of gameplay? She's the Titular character, but she's just in the background, yet she still drives the story forward. Godzilla drives the story by showing up for 5 minutes, blows something up, and then 90% of the films are usually scientists and politicians arguing about what to do with him. If you want a dumb monster movie where monsters are the main focus, then I suggest the first Pacific Rim. But of you can't handle that most Godzilla movies usually only show 15 minutes of Godzilla and an hour and fifteen minutes of humans reacting to him, then this may not be your kaiju series.
This is the fight we should have gotten. Hell I'd buy a DVD with this scene cut into the movie its self. Sure I get what the movie was going for in that the city WAS Mechagodzilla, so they were sort of fighting the whole time, but come on, THIS is what we all really wanted to see.
They could have done both honestly, have the Nano Mechagodzilla AI build a city and a new, more powerful body that emerges from the bowels of the city to confront Godzilla Earth. It would be a nice a twist on top of the twist of Mechagodzilla City, with a design that was not seen in any marketing.

他のアニメは分かりませんが、確かにアニゴジに関しては“コレじゃない感”がありますよね。
設定が三部作構想を念頭にしていながらも脚本の粗がかなり多い事から察するに、無茶な企画内容を短期間で仕上げて手っ取り早く利益を上げたかっただけのように感じました。

You know what is amazing about this, everything Mecha-godzilla does in this fight is an actual ability this version had, the whole arsenal was perfectly replicated and utilitized, bravo sir or madam, you deserve a reward for putting this much love, and energy into this phenomenal animation
You know, multiple abilities for Mechagodzilla were from the details for it from the website. As for the railguns, they’re from the Kiryu saga, while the missiles are traditional abilities used by Mechagodzilla. The battleship cannons and plasma swords, I think are weapons that this guy came up with.

It’s really sad when a animation done by a fan with a lower budget did this so much better then the actual movie.
Yeah. To be honest, I did find the premise of the anime trilogy interesting and I liked many of the characters.
What I really liked about the trilogy was the complex morals behind it. With Monster Planet showing just how small humanity is compared to the wrath of the Earth, the chose between two evils in City on the Edge of Battle, and the dilemma of purpose to be found in a finite life in The Planet Eater.
But as everyone has pointed out, the biggest problem with the films are the battles. Mecha-Godzilla’s and Ghidorah’s potentials were wasted so badly. The city was an interesting concept, but with 20,000 years to spare, why didn’t Mecha-Godzilla just work on rebuilding itself to take on the larger Godzilla Earth? Ghidorah was the biggest disappointment. With its design and portrayal, I was expecting on of the most epic battles between it and Godzilla, but instead all we get to see is it’s heads come out of portals and bite Godzilla.
It’s useless to complain about it now, but if they spent the same amount of effort and work like these animations, the anime trilogy would have been legendary in my opinion.

The anime did okay with the concept. AnimGhidorah is a being made of PURE ENERGY therefore is literally impossible to beat, however all energy requires a driver. There's a special eye that allows Ghidorah to see, that's used by the main bad guy(as usual). GojiEarth can't fight back against AnimGhidorah since his attacks literally go through him while Ghidorah decimates GojiEarth. After realizing that Ghidorah is a power beyond their control, the protagonists stop and defeat the main bad guy all while destroying the controller eye. Ghidorah stops, GojiEarth can now for some reason grab him, yeet him into his worm hole bowl, then assblast him with the Atomic Beam.
Really the only problem was that Goji could somehow grab Ghidorah even though his hands were phasing through him through the entire fight.
Nathan Nguyen Because the eye gem from Metphies is what’s connecting from the void to our reality. His Dimensional powers allow him to enter our reality yet remain untouchable. When the gem broke, he was forced to follow our rules of physics and can be touched.

Though I am not a Godzilla fan, I have seen enough _tokusatsu_ to know that when a monster gets _that level_ of damage, they back down and lick their wounds at the very least, and _rarely_ "tis but a flesh wound!". Even Godzilla himself has been show reeling from heavy attacks in many of his movies, to the point where he needs to back off and regenerate a bit. But in this case, strictly because the script said so and _not_ because "physics don't apply to me, you puny humans!", I do not like what happened in this video and call bullshit.
@@EVAUnit4A In the prequel novels, which this Mechagodzilla gets all of these abilities from, Godzilla Earth uses a "deus ex machina" red Atomic Breath to destroy a meteorite about to wipe out the planet. While it's described as "Godzilla storing 5 years worth of energy" for that attack, it's been 20,000 years of Godzilla Earth essentially growing in power so it works here. Why even complain, the point of the video is just to see Godzilla Earth fight Anime Mechagodzilla. Just enjoy the fight.

Wow!! If the anime Mechagodzilla had looked and sounded anything like this in the movie, it would have been exciting to see for sure. While I still like the concept of Mechagodzilla City, it has no sense of character which hurts it in the long run.
That could have come out in the movie but the directors of the film had no ideas how it would start and how the battle would end now we will wait as it will be the battle between godzilla earth and king ghidorah
The entire city was one big sentry gun, you could've scrapped MechaGodzilla entirely and nothing would've changed.
the problem with mechagodzilla city was only using the name itself. now if the city formed a new mechagodzilla or it was just called nanometal city, then there would not have been any issue. the fact that the mechagodzilla only appears briefly in the first film was a let down. I was hoping the city was going to bring it back.
I just hope ghidorah is not changed. I am not even referring to him as king ghidorah because we do not know if that will be his title or if he has a new one. in the movie, he was only mentioned as ghidorah.
I think there were limitations in the program they were using, the model was too complex to move properly without breaking apart in the end

This is exactly what I wanted to see in the movie. Still, I like City in the Edge of Battle, but that fact that the battle between Godzilla and Mechagodzilla wasn't there like we wanted it to be made me very disappointed.
And I'm gonna lie, seeing Mechagodzilla being destroyed like that at 14:15 and hearing it make that sound really made me feel sorry for it ;(
honestly, I found city on the edge of battle to be more entertaining than planet of monsters despite the issue I had with how mechagodzilla was portrayed.

I found CotEoB to be more entertaining. planet of monsters in the first half was way too slow. it feels almost forgettable.
What is insane is that Godzilla isn't even using a fraction of the red spiral ray's power here. Remember, he used to destroy a celestial object that was 30 km wide with a mass comparable to our moon and he did when he was only 50 meters tall and used energy that he had been storing for only two years. If he didn't use any of that energy until now, then you can only imagine how powerful it might be and I'm betting that he has enough energy to maybe even completely shatter the earth if he were to use it to its full potential.

Yup. I have a hunch he gets his power directly FROM Earth. So....what you saw with the moon meteor was only a fraction of it's power. Remember, he's able to convert heat into energy and vice versa. Imagine the entire core of the Earth, it's thermoelectric energy of it spinning etc. I'm no physics expert but it's mind boggling amount of energy.

Indeed, what were the producer's thinking when they said "Mechagodzilla" is gonna be in the second "Godzilla Anime Trilogy" and yet all or excitement died when we instead just watched an almost lame fight between the G-Man and the three Vultures.
Yeah, it could have saved the trilogy, but since it was a failure in the box office, I don't know what to expect to see in the third entry

He's insanely smug in the movie proper, just look at his grin when he faces the vultures.
For me, Godzilla's calm composure is the most unsettling thing about this whole fight.
I also like how this shows Godzilla is, in the end, no better than humanity. He changes the environment around him to suit his wants and needs and when it comes down to it is willing to cause widespread destruction on a level comparable or greater than us.
The movie itself should have gone like this, instead we get aliens merging with nanometal. Amazing work! Especially that mechagodzilla transformation!

The one thing I hate in this series is the overall depiction of the big guy and the other monsters. The prequel novels gave us so much cool shit to work with, but no. It's just the big guy who rules the world. No smog choked Hedorah wasteland, no NYC overrun as a borderline Xenomorphic Zilla nest, no Barem covered Australia. This movie should've been about the monsters, but no.
Every Godzilla movie is about the monsters. I enjoyed the fresh perspective focusing on the humans, and having Godzilla be an obstacle to be avoided. That would have been rad to see more of this continuity and the world building surrounding it, but I think what we got has merit as well.

I don't give a crap about the human perspective, because... it's a fricken GODZILLA movie! When there is Godzilla in the title, I want to see Godzilla, preferably fighting other kaijus, not some random human drama for 95% of the movie. Maybe just enough to give it a meaningful story, but that's it. The focus HAS to be on the monsters!
Nobody should try and 'improve' these films with some avantgarde nonsense. If you want an interesting story about humans, there are tens of thousands of movies that do NOT have Godzilla in them. Watch those.

Just because a franchise has a theme it is known for doesn't mean it's illegal to take it in a new direction. Like I said, I enjoyed the new perspective this movie brought to the table, and I don't have to go watch a different movie if I liked the human drama in this one. Using your logic, I could tell you that there are hundreds of monster brawl films out there, go watch one of those.

What exactly are you talking about? Which movie exactly are you referring to? Your initial comment seems to indicate that _you_ were not perfectly happy with what you got.

If you go into a 2-hour movie titled 'Sherlock Holmes', do you want to see Sherlock Holmes solving a case, or the perspective of some London beggar and how he/she experienced it, with Sherlock Holmes only visible for less than 10 minutes?
Are you telling me that you liked the fact that 93.5% of the movie we didn't see the title hero? It seems to me that you must have some very low standards about that aspect of film-making.
By the way, with no word I have said you cannot enjoy a movie like that. I merely suggested a solution.
@@MyReligionIs2DoGood Not sure how many Godzilla movies you've seen, but I can tell you, about 90% of them has the humans as the main focus 90% of the time.
Godzilla is the titular character, but he's mostly a back drop piece that is only there to bring a reason for the story. Sort of like Zelda in the game series named after her. In the original Zelda, we don't see her till the last two minutes. Ocarina of Time we see her for maybe 30 minutes max, out of the several hours of gameplay? She's the Titular character, but she's just in the background, yet she still drives the story forward. Godzilla drives the story by showing up for 5 minutes, blows something up, and then 90% of the films are usually scientists and politicians arguing about what to do with him.
If you want a dumb monster movie where monsters are the main focus, then I suggest the first Pacific Rim. But of you can't handle that most Godzilla movies usually only show 15 minutes of Godzilla and an hour and fifteen minutes of humans reacting to him, then this may not be your kaiju series.
Thank god, we don't have to pay for the movie, instead we got the better version thank you so much for the one who made this.

This is the fight we should have gotten. Hell I'd buy a DVD with this scene cut into the movie its self. Sure I get what the movie was going for in that the city WAS Mechagodzilla, so they were sort of fighting the whole time, but come on, THIS is what we all really wanted to see.
They could have done both honestly, have the Nano Mechagodzilla AI build a city and a new, more powerful body that emerges from the bowels of the city to confront Godzilla Earth. It would be a nice a twist on top of the twist of Mechagodzilla City, with a design that was not seen in any marketing.
I like the way Godzilla Earth just takes everything sent it’s way, kinda makes sense giving its ginormous size and biology but it’s pretty badass
I'd call it a tank, but it literally would eat tanks like tic tacs.
This is literally the perfect combination of beam battles and physical combat. If only the anime trilogy actually had monster fights.
