I was lucky enough to visit Salzburg back in November of 92 still as beautiful. Can't wait until I bring the family and do our best the hills are alive impersonation. Love your videos
I visited Salzburg while I was backpacking around Europe in the early 1990s. According to my diary-which I still have- I visited the cathedral, climbed up a bit of a mountain and walked around the old town. As I was a student at the time I basically tried to avoid going into anything that actually charged an entrance fee so as you can see my options were limited! I also remember noticing that the only music tapes you could buy in the old town were 1) Mozart 2) The Sound of Music and 3) Tirolean yodels
Salzburg is a beautiful City to behold. Another wonderful place to visit in Salzburg is the Hangar 7, it's a free entry Museum that showcase famous Formula 1 Vehicles by Redbull and some amazing historic planes and helicopters. I love the city a lot!
Wonderful video. This is where I was born and spent the first 50 years of my life. The photos are fantastic. Being from Salzburg, I have never been to the catacombs. But I have already spent the night on the Mönchsberg. The fortress Hohen Salzburg I have never ridden the gondola (elevator), but have always walked. The beauties in the Cathedral of Salzburg and the Carolingian Church (University Church) were also well shown. Missing, however, in my opinion, the Franciscan Church, which is the most interesting church of Salzburg. On the Gaisberg I was certainly often, mostly on foot, sometimes by car. Some people I know personally I have seen in the video. For example, at the Kapitelplatz to Salzburg. There is the open square for playing chess with large pieces. Here I have played as a chess player for decades. Some faces in the video I could recognize again. Also the street painters in Salzburg are known to me personally. In the Café Mozart I´ve played also very much chess. In the past, smoking was not yet prohibited. The rooms in Café Mozart stank very much of smoke. Living in Salzburg is a very different thing than going there as a tourist. Salzburg is open to anyone who is willing to spend money. It was because of Mozart and earlier because of the salt mining in Bad Dürnberg near Hallein that Salzburg became so rich. Mozart, by the way, hated Salzburg. I don't like Salzburg because of the people either. The city of Salzburg is already a bigger city and a more anonymous city. The rents are very high. To live in Salzburg very expensive. Since 2016, I have therefore moved away from Salzburg and live in Hallein, where I feel much more comfortable because I need nature.
Beautiful video! Thank you! I find sooo sweet they built a church for Mozart’s little sister! 💕Apparently she was also a prodigy and they even say she was even more talented than his brother. 🥰👍🏻
I loved your video. Thank you so much for all the valuable info! My husband and I are also traveling from Munich to Salzburg and staying just one day. I will probably copy cat your itinerary step by step. ❤ keep traveling!
Lovely memories of Salzburg.. it was so beautiful. But if you have reached here then Halstadt is an absolute must. You will regret not staying there for a day...but a day trip to that place is just heaven!!!
Ahhh, yes, we wanted to go to Hallstatt! We ended up choosing Werfen instead because all the train connections would've made it a bit of a long travel day.
Thanks to both of you I can see the globe from my house. I wouls have also liked to do the same but it is not my fate. So I am so happy when I see your uploads. Really fabulous.
Sam and Audrey. Salzburg is on our bucket thanks to your informative and beautiful video. Harriet and I are returning to Munich in March and plan a side trip to Salzburg You guys know how to do a tour. and explain to us what we're looking at. Harriet and I love you guys💖💖 and don't miss a video. Sending you lots of love.💖💖 Jim and Harriet. Richmond, Va.

Glad you two are enjoying your journey, keep up the good work, and thanks. Bert
🌺🌼🌻Great video on Salzburg. Been following you guys for a while and really enjoy your videos. You went on a similar tour of Salzburg highlights than I had put together last year. It’s such a cool city. Looking forward to your next videos. I’m currently showing some videos on Slovakia which is another amazing country you may find interesting to cover 👍😊
Thank you! Great to hear about your experience. Ah, Slovakia is great. We only visited Bratislava but loved it. How long do you plan to stay? Best wishes with your videos.
@@samuelandaudrey thank you! Yes, Bratislava is such a cool city, I definitely enjoyed my stay there. I spent a good week in Slovakia but could have easily added another, there’s so much to see. Safe travels! 👍
I'll be going there this July for a city stop and then a week of hiking on Arnoweg. Thanks for the tips. City looks amazing and can't wait to get there.
Thanks a lot Banshan 😊 We couldn't believe how scenic it was and how lucky we were to get sun every single day when it was calling for solid rain prior to our arrival.
Brilliant video capturing your enjoyment at travelling abroad again. Love it. Personally, I will be leaving Scotland in I don't know how long and spending a couple of nights in Malaga with my work. I cannot wait. Oh to be free again xx
I’ve been to Salzburg. It really is every bit as wonderful as you say. I only wish I’d seen your video first, as you give excellent advice on everything. Thanks for bringing back such wonderful memories.
Another thing you should check out when in Salzburg is the Helbrunn Area. Its on the edge of the city, and easily reachable by the bus 25. Part of Helbrunn are the Wasserspiele, wich in Summer can be very fun. If you can, also come to Salzburg around christmas, when the city is decorated with lights etc.
@@samuelandaudrey Pretty often to be honest 😉 last week I saw your Vienna videos. So entertaining and just perfect content. It would be a pleasure to welcome you guys in the Austrian state of Carinthia. It's very similar to Salzburg, you would definitely love it.
