  • THE SPORTS CAR DREAM | FORD MUSTANG MACH 1 v. AUDI TT RS
    Icons. That is how you can describe these two cars. That, and very grey as well. The Ford Mustang has been around for what seems like forever, and it was pretty much a point and squirt muscle car - very effective in straight lines, and that's about it. The fact it was fitted with a steering wheel seemed like a waste of time.
    However, over the years, Ford has learnt that some roads have bends in them and have honed the Mustang over time to actually go around a corner. So much so, that Ford themselves have dubbed the latest iteration of their V8 beast a 'sportscar'. Yes, really. To see if these claims are true, and also to see if it could be better than one of Germany's finest, we rolled out the latest (and sadly, last) Audi TT RS for a play session.
    This'll be an interesting one as these cars from two different schools. The Mustang wades in with a 5.0 litre V8 and is heavier, whilst the TT RS is three cylinders down, but is lighter. So, will it be a win for the Land of the Free, or Bravaria?

    I dont imagine anyone really trying to choose between these two cars, completely different cars for different kind of drivers. Enjoyable video though, well done

      We feel that's the whole point, instead of comparing two similar sports cars, this video offers a diverse choice for the consumer plus a more interesting video (we hope anyway)
      Plus, we have a tough task on sourcing cars and it just happened to have both Ford and Audi work alongside us to make this twin test work
      For example the Mustang is the ultimate weekend blaster, something to enjoy on a nice summers day whereas the TT RS is more daily proof option
      But as a 'sports car' the TT suits the platform better

    I chose the TTRS. In the US, the Audi has standard power seats and magnetic ride control. Also, where I live, I can see 20-30 Mustangs a day. I almost never see a TT, much less an RS model. I've got a stage 1 tune which give me similar HP to the Mach 1 and more torque. It's crazy fast! And yes, a set of Michelin PS4's gives it massive grip. In the end, there is still understeer, but when you finally get to that point you are at ultra legal speed!

      It's the other way around in the UK, you see TT's everywhere and hardly any Stangs
      TT RS's performance potential is crazy, tuning them in the UK is a big deal - lots easily running 800bhp with very little fuss
      Thanks for watching, commenting and supporting - all the best!

    Well done and fair assessment. Mach 1 U.S. owner, tremec 6 speed so enjoyable! Yes it is a bruiser. TT may be 'sportier', for me though it has always been the 'cute' car which isn't for me, good to have choices though, to each their own, good luck with channel👍

      Chris has had the opportunity to drive a few Mustangs including some Shelby examples and a Manual is a must! The Auto box isn't bad by any means but you lose the drama and experience of taming the V8 beast with rev matching & shifting through the gears yourself
      What's great about this video just showcases there is a sports car for all types of petrolheads, a very enjoyable video to shoot

    I own mach 1 hp 6speed in the states and it seems euro version is much different. More gt350 than gt. Im also aware of vag turbo 5 and those are fast af. Good review.

  • @arkhsm
    @arkhsm Год назад +2

    The Euro Mach 1 is still only 3/4s of the Handling Package version in the states, which ran quicker laps around VIR, than the Shelby GT350 R model !!

      That's madness considering the big difference in the Mach 1 compared to the Standard GT variant we get in the UK!

    Hello guys. It's been a while...hasn't it? Well, we are back, and we are back with a BANG! Not just one sportscar but two! Which would you have?

    Took my ‘21 TT RS cross country and saw a gorgeous Mach 1 along the way. I’m biased, but I think the TT RS is better in every way except maybe price and MAYBE exhaust. Both are special.

      They both have their pros & cons, but you can't help but stare and constantly admire the Mach 1 for it's looks and presence on the road 😍
      Just a shame both cars are forced into inevitable extinction!

    I’d have the RS3, same driveline as the TTRS but better diff and better handling plus more practical. Don’t mind the Mustang but they don’t compare in driving ability or quality to a RS model Audi

    • @davisflyer
      @davisflyer Год назад

      All true, at least with regards to the latest RS3, but the TTRS looks so much better than the RS3!

      @@davisflyer My brother has the TTRS and I have the RS3, I might be biased because of my choice but we both agree mine looks better and when we take them out for a drive mine gets more attention also. The TTRS looks good but it just looks a bit short for the shape

    TTRS NO COMPETITION

    • @ThoseTwoCarGuys
      @ThoseTwoCarGuys  6 месяцев назад

      Yes indeed, we always knew the Mach 1 was going to have hard day against the TTRS
      But saying that, the Stang put up a good fight despite drinking fuel for fun and also killing Chris a dozen times 🙈
      Thanks for watching!

    The Mustang is not a sports car. Serious sporting pretensions, yes, but it's better characterized as a pony car, muscle car, or GT car.

    • @ThoseTwoCarGuys

      Don't shoot the messengers, Ford claimed it not us 🙈
      Despite being put up against the mighty Quattro, the old Stang faired up pretty well
      Thanks for watching Robert!
