    Very professional plumber. Add a paste on teflon tape - only few people understand the importance of that. Nice video, thank you.

      LOL you don’t have a clue fella. The use of a sealant material is all dependent upon type of pipe and many other factors. Use the wrong shit and you corrode the piping. Plumbers don’t have a fucking clue, they just use whatever the fuck is cheap.

    Can the pump and the control switch sit on the floor? I thought the code was at least 12 inches from the ground for any electrical.

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  7 лет назад +1

      The pump can be mounted to the floor as long as your local code allows for it. Electrical codes vary in each state. Does that answer your question?

    I need your recommendation. Im getting only 16 pounds pressure from city water line. Will this pump work in this low pressure.

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  5 лет назад +2

      Hey Duraikandan, Yes, our booster pump will work with that low pressure as it is designed to boost city water pressure. Our 17035R020PC1 series, which is a 35 PSI boost, will take the incoming pressure of 16 and add 35 PSI, giving them 16 + 35 = 51 psi of boosted pressure @ 0 GPM. The curve on the product submittal will provide the boost at different GPM usages, which can be found here: aymcdonald.com/asset/58504. For more information, please reach out to us at 1-800-292-2737 so we can walk you through how the pump works.

    Is there a delay before this booster turns on? For example, I currently have a booster in my home but the pressure drops significantly before the booster starts up. It will take about 24-30 ounces of water flow or up to 10 seconds before the pump begins to run.

    Perhaps I am not getting the instructions. The plumber uses teflon tape and pipe sealant but at 1:55 the narrator and the written instructions say do not apply pipe sealant directly to pump threads. I know he used the sealant on the check valve. Is this OK. Normally I use one or the other but I am not a plumber by trade. One comment said this s important. Please explain. Thank You.

    • @chrisjordan7564
      @chrisjordan7564 3 года назад +1

      Goodman diad what they are saying is that you want to apply the tape and/or sealant to the nipple threads and do not apply it to the pump threads, that way the tape and the sealant stays outside of the pipe and won't foul the checkvalve

    Can it be used only for hot water if the other pipes have normal pressure? How high a temperature can it work with?

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  3 года назад

      The Booster pump is not designed for hot water applications and the max recommended temperature is 120 degrees.

    Question I live in New York in a two family house.My problem is this in the basement I have no problem with cold water pressure. But I get low cold water pressure upstairs in my kitchen and bathroom sinks plus tub. Is another way I can hook a pump in a situation like minds ?

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  7 лет назад

      Nathan,
      We will need to know what the pressure coming into the house is, how many GPM, and what size line is coming into the house in order to answer the question. Please let us know!
      Thanks.

      Fix your plumbing, if you have good pressure at the basement it tells me there is a restriction in the upper floors. Especially when you only said cold water. A pressure pump won’t fix that.

    can this be installed on a well system after the pressure tank and after the water softener my pressure on 2nd floor dual shower is less than ideal

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  3 года назад +2

      Yes, preferably before the water softener as long as you have enough flow or volume for the application. Please call us at 1-800-292-2737 for any additional questions you may have!

    Why do you have a pressure reducer valve on the pump suction?

    • @ricklee827
      @ricklee827 Год назад +1

      That's just in case the incoming water pressure exceeds the recommended pressure.

    What about thermal expansion from the hot water tank when it's heating up? Once you installed your booster system your house becomes a closed system

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your question! The pressure tank will take care of thermal expansion.

    How much it cost?

    • @aymcdonaldmfg
      @aymcdonaldmfg  3 года назад

      Hey There. The cost of the pump would be determined by the Distributor we sold it to. The cost of the installation would be determined by the plumbing or contractor installing it. A.Y. McDonald only sells through Distribution and do not monitor what installation costs would be throughout the country. A call to a local plumber will get you an estimate of labor rates and if needed we can locate a Dealer in your area.

    This is the worst pressure booster money can buy, They only last the life of the warranty, I went through 2 of them in 5 years, first I had 1/2 hp ( a little over $ 1000 ) after 2 years it stopped pumping and couldn't find a repair kit for the pump so I brought a 3/4 hp one ( over $ 1500 ) thinking it will do better which it did last 2 and half years and can't find repair kit.
    Steer away from this brand
    I gave a thumb down for the pump not the plumber .
