So this will run whenever someone opens a faucet. It's not like a pump with a pressure tank where the system will pressurize and the pump only will run once the pressure drops below a certain threshold.
Thank you. Very helpful and I particularly appreciate the comment about installing a by-pass line. Nobody where I live (rural northern Việt Nam) does this and I had forgotten about doing so. Cheers.
Caution please be sure you get the correct pump for your application. What this guy is not telling you is there are no pressure adjustment on these pumps! The pressure output is going to be 50+ pounds greater than your incoming water pressure. i.e. 20 inlet = 70+ psi outlet
Ok so I just installed one of these pumps for a customer . First yes the piping is vibrating throughout the system so I need to add flex connectors to the system . Second they are complaining that every time they turn on a fixture the pump kicks on. Can I add a storage tank to your booster pump and could you post a diagram on the proper installation of the auxiliary storage tank . Basically they want to be able to use water without the pump constantly cycling . Any help is appreciated . Thanks and I did purchase from you directly
@Fresh Water Systems Do you have a preference for Tankless models? How about those that include a pressure storage tank? I'd love to see your sizing recommendations for this.
Really, really helpful video. Thanks. I've notice some booster pumps come with a pressure tank. What's the difference between these and the ones that are pump only? Is one better than the other?
I bought a used dura-flow pump to use as waterpump for solar heating system. Now when I look at the pump I don't find any power cord/supply, only one 1/4 inch vacuum tube attached to the switch assembly on top of the pump. What am I missing ?
As far as I know, sucking water out of municipal water network - as you potentially do if you connect the booster pump directly to the incoming water line - is forbidden for a good reason. I haven’t heard anything about this from your presentation. Usually you have to have a ground tank to separate the pump from the municipal network. Are there any other proper options?
Great video. Does a booster pump require a reservoir to draw from? Our Community Well delivers 50psi. We'd like 60 or so PSI and I'm getting conflicting advice on a reservoir.
I had a whole house water filtration system installed and within a week my water pressure drastically decreased. I have a 3 story home with 8 bedrooms, and 5 bathrooms. Do you think a booster will help my water pressure?
Thanks for your time setting up this video Do you generally recommend a booster pump over a centriugal pump for residential use? I have a 5hp centrifugal pump providing water from a well supply tank to two residences and low water use landscape that I may need to upgrade, is centrifugal the best to stick with? Thanks!!!
we have a cistern and a wster filter system and a booster pump. but the pressure on 4th floor is barely enough to activate the multipoint water heater. should i install a small portable 150w booster at the 4th floor so it can help activate the heater properly?
@@randybrown1922 you install a T fitting right before the flex Inlet for the pump, install a shutoff valve on the new run of pipe. Run this new pipe past your pump to the end of the outlet pump flex line. Add another T fitting just as you did by the inlet, with a shutoff valve. That way if pump fails, you can turn off flow to it, and reroute the water around it. Be safe! Get your project inspected and permitted if required, AND ENJOY WATER PRESSURE 💦🌊💦
Would this be good to boost the pressure on my shower head and my shower jets only? I don’t want to boost the water pressure throughout the whole house. There isn’t really good pressure that comes out of the shower jets that my plumber installed and I need a shower pump to connect to my 4 diverter shower valve that I have installed.
i have bosch (Serie | 6, front loader 8 kg 1400 rpm WAT2846SIN) washing machine. I have also installed sparta's super 150 pressure pump and given the direct connection to washing machine but machine's led indicator is still showing tap symbol..how can I make sure that water flows normally into the machine?
Great video. Can I turn off the booster pump at night as it's noisy and comes on by itself all the time? We don't have heating on. The pump is on the 3rd floor next to the water tank and hot water tank.
we're buying a house that has one of these in the utility room, it makes a lot of noise every time you run the water a bit. Is there any way it can be installed outside in a small weather protected place? We do get wet and snowy weather. Thanks!
Hi Mary, look at time stamp 3:43 in this video. He's holding a flex connector and describes the benefits of using them. I hope the sale went well for you.
It’s difficult to see exactly. It could be the materials of construction, or that it may not develop the same head pressure. Some booster pumps are far more sophisticated than the simple on off shallow well pumps. For example, the well pump may just come on and increase pressure until it hits its limit so you may have varying pressure during the use of the water. However some booster pumps can actually control the water pressure to maintain it at a certain level with varying water usage. That’s not to say that a simple shallow well pump won’t meet your needs, it is just that you may have varying water pressure when it kicks in.
It doesn't tell us how to determine the right pump just that we need to determine the right pump for our needs - we are only getting 28 psi at our house - I am trying to determine which pump would accomplish bringing the pump up to a normal house - say 50 psi???
If the water pipes are old or if new with improperly installed fittings, yes it is possible for a leak. Piping should typically easily be able to handle up to 100psi but your fixtures may be limited as to the pressure they can handle. A quality booster pump will have a regulator to control the discharge pressure and limit it to what ever you set it to. For example, you may want 75-80 psi where you need to irrigate lawns or use pressure washers (note irrigation systems can be designed to accommodate lower pressures). If you are lucky enough to have your exterior hose bibbs installed upstream of the rest of your fixtures, you can install a pressure regulator to limit the water pressure to your household fixtures. For example, if the booster pump puts out 80 psig, you would have a downstream regulator to limit the pressure to the fixtures at 60 psig.
Egesi Edward As long as the booster pump comes complete with a pressure switch, the pressure switch will monitor when the water pressure drops below a certain set value. When it drops below this value, the pump will turn on. If the pressure exceeds an upper value, it will turn off. The upper value is set to prevent over pressurizing the system and potentially damaging plumbing fixtures. Booster pumps are available without pressure switches or pressure tanks. Ideally you want a pressure pump that, at least, comes with the pressure switch built in. These can be purchased separately, however.
A question for the Experts: Our Apartment has a booster installed which is set to operate between 1.8 and 2.5 bars. Since a while , we have an unstable pressure / temperature which changes every 10 seconds cycle. Would it be fair to say that there a problem with the booster (EG Fan blades not running stable) ? The Management office finds this normal. We don't.
Sounds like the apartment complex added some more tenants and the water supply can't keep up with the demand. They probably don't have enough pressure tanks. I'm on a well share with 6 other families. We initially had 3 big booster tanks and the booster pump ran too much to keep up. Our well guy recommended one tank per household. The system ran much better since we upgraded. When property sold we required the new owners to buy 1 new tank. Didn't take much over a year and we had all the tanks we needed.
They come in different sizes, if that is what you are asking, based on the required flow rate. The type of lines can be flexible braded hoses or copper or PEX, with the right fittings.

An air tank gives a constant flow of air (pressure), rather than intermittent flow. Well that's how it works with airbrushes anyway.
Thank you so much ! So helpful and insightful 🥰
It is beautiful knowledge sir. All the best

yes if you made a bypass pipe as he mentioned, so the water can flow without going through the pump.
