True story. My mum, who was a real character who. A red not a whit for what others thought, was driving to work out of suburb one winter morning. Cars coming the other way kept waving at her and pointing at the front end of her car. She finally stopped got out and took a look. (She’s telling us this whole story at dinner). So she says she looks down and (this is pre-travel mug era, and she used to always take a cup of tea with her in the car in the morning) …and hey! It’s her cup of tea.
And, she tells us, as if this the best part, “It was still warm so I drank it!”

Just cause someone is a felon and has a drug problem doesn't make them a bad at heart
That dude honestly doesn't sound like that bad of a guy. Just sounds like he's chosen the wrong path in life, and the drugs have really caused him to make poor decisions. One's that he regrets when something bad happens, but willing to take the risk anyway. Like with the stolen car, he probably could have car jacked someone violently or even someone using the car immediately, instead he waited to find a car that wasn't being used recently. Maybe that was part of his strategy as he'd be less likely to be caught, but from his admissions he sounds like he has genuine empathy and morals. His addiction makes him choose to ignore them, makes him incredibly desperate, and already had charges pending against him so he probably felt like he didn't have much less to lose. My guess would be that he knew he'd eventually be caught anyway, and just wanted to do those drugs before that happened and basically was trying to do anything he could to succeed in his drug escapades. Addiction and recidivism together really promotes peoples nihilistic tendencies.

I got pulled over for driving a car with no license I have mine the car was driving didn’t it was a 2 minute stop that caused me to change the way I was going an my arrival time by 20 minutes instead of 10 and that man saved my life from driving straight thru a shootout when I found out I cried all the way back home there no other reason than god was watching over cops are not always bad people

40 to 50 years ago, when DUI was not treated as seriously as it should have been, I drove drunk many times. Never wild, never got stopped. But drunk enough I could have killed someone. I thank my lucky stars I never did hurt anyone driving drunk. I am of course totally ashamed of that behavior. In fact I had a friend who was driving drunk with his sister riding front passenger. He crashed and she died. This is the kind of horror that drunk driving causes. DO NOT DRIVE DRUNK. CALL UBER OR A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER.
Poor Sharon needs help, not to be ignored and jailed. As a society, we are slightly more sympathetic to stray animals than we are to stray people.

At 41 minutes...I was impressed at how nice the one police officer was to the young woman who had just been arrested. She went from never being stopped by the police or ever getting a ticket...to getting arrested. He explained what she should do and was very kind and reassuring. Kudos to this officer for looking past just the charges and seeing the person.

I remember a crim telling me one time that he tried to out swim a Police dog across a large lake but the dog got him and he had to tun back because every time he tried to move in the wrong direction the dog bit him . I did once years ago. I had expired tags and an undercover unit got behind me. I made a quick turn and he must have been on the radio because he missed it. As soon as I saw him stop to turn around, I turned around so we passed each other. As soon as I saw it was a cop I dropped the hammer and went. I knew all the backroads so I cut up a small farm road and went up in the trees. Waited a half hour, then drove home. No sooner had I got in the my house and got in the shower, my wife comes in and says, “Why is there a cop walking around your car?” I got out and went down and he threatened me saying the next time he sees me, I’m going to jail and then he took the plate off my car and left.
Never ran into him again, and I didn’t have any fines.
