Terro ant baits work very well. Some things to mention. They must be replaced once low. Another ant infestation will happen if you kill "most" ants. Those that mention not seeing the queen you have the wrong idea about colonies. The queen does not leave the colony, this product is designed for worker ants to bring food back to the colony and thus the queen. They work quite well, but most problems with recurring ants are due to premature removal or failure to replace the baits. This bait does not work on all ant species, but most. Some tips: do not put the baits directly on the ant trail anywhere, but to source where the ants are entering the home from and place a bait nearby. Do not cut the entire seal off the bait, it forms a hard outer shell quickly (about 3 days) and the ants will not be as effective at harvesting the bait. Instead cute a small "notch" in the top to slow evaporative effects.
Thanks for the adding that great info and tips! I will try that next season when they return. Seems to be a yearly thing except I get an upper hand on them quickly and it normally only lasts about 1 week or more. Thanks for watching!
I'm just going to keep switching them out until they stop coming completely, I want this hive dead, completely, it's queen, workers everything. Until then the trap is staying.
Yesterday I used this product for the first time when I noticed ants in my kitchen. We had a wet winter and I've noticed more ant activity lately. Within hours the ants had found the bait tray with the help of leaving a trial of the bait leading to the main container. This morning the ants were gone except for some dead ants inside the tray. Highly recommended.

I have had great success using these on a particular type of ant that makes ground nests in my yard. These are larger black ants that look like the ant on the packaging. I leave a fresh bait near the main entrance to their nest and they feast on it. It does take 2-3 days for the poison to work, but after they are gone a couple heavy rains wipes their nest out and the grass fills back in. I have another type of ant as well, these are tiny brown ants that make small conical ant hills from sand and these baits do not affect them at all. For the small ants I use Raid and spray the hill directly and then spray a circle around the hill so any ants coming or going have to cross over the poison. Also, since we are talking about pests, I used to have massive amounts of box elder bugs and asian lady beetles every year, I hit them with permethrin and that decimated them.

I've been seeing very tiny ants crawling around my computer workstation. They're super tiny, hardly noticeable unless you happen to be looking directly at them. I wonder if this might work for them.
They work. However, we're three weeks into treatment in our bathroom after two waves of ants. Expect dead ants scattered around the area after about a week. They especially like the shower, seeking water to sooth their destroyed digestive systems.

I just bought the bottle yesterday. And those ants did not hesitate surrounding thw sugar liquids. They love it! Now I just need to wait for the next couple days when they're done eating all the liquid sugars. They're buffeting the liquid in 2 seconds....
How'd it go? I also purchased the liquid bottle yesterday. Suddenly hundreds if not a thousand ants came out, it was so gross to watch and I had no idea I had this many ants. Yuck. I hope I'm not feeding them and encouraging them all to come here.
so will this work for large colonies in the wild or only for small ones? there's this huge ant hill in the way and i'm trying to find a solution to effectively get rid of them.
These aren't working for me at all. I laid them down about a week ago and there is no indication they have visited them. I did not have that many to begin with but still see about the same two or three a day. The liquid dows not seem to be going down and there is no indication of droppings. They are definitely open as I can pour liquid out of them. What am I doing wrong?
My apartment has a major problem with sugar ants living in the walls. Placed a drop by the sink and it was absolutely swarmed last night. This morning there were already way fewer ants feeding on it.
I've been using Terro for several weeks inside my front door. It seems to work but after the ants dwindle away, more eventually come back. I'm thinking these different waves of ants may be coming from different colonies, perhaps following pheromone trails left by the preceding colony. Any thoughts?
That's very possible I imagine that could be the case. I haven't had the same problems its almost like spring time every year they come out and I see them in my house. I put down these bait stations and they are gone 7-10 days for the entire year! Another thing which I do also is put some outdoor bait stations and kill some colonies outside my house!
@@JeffLepard Like I said, I've been using Terro for weeks. Right now, I've got the biggest swarm of ants I've yet seen coming to the bait from under the molding beside the front door. They will probably dwindle and die off after a few days, but there may be yet another wave coming from farther away. I'm going to start putting bait outside the house too, per your suggestion.
@@dutchray8880 I have the same problem. So far, I have had three different swarms of ants over a one week period. The ants I'm getting are very tiny and so far have not seemed to even made a dent in the amount of liquid in the bait station. Good luck with your ant problem if they are still around.
If you're having them come in from outdoors, then there are other more heavy duty bait traps you can use. These traps are primarily if you have a problem inside your house.
I used a trap in the area directly behind my kitchen sink last year, and it worked really well. This year, I’m going to be placing a trap in a cabinet where I’ve noticed activity. However, this cabinet only holds dishes, because I keep all unrefrigerated food in the pantry.
I put out this stuff in a room where a wooden spoon with cooked brown rice residue laying on a table for an hour or two had about 6-8 tiny antts crawling over it. I opened a fresh one as above and left if on a corner of the same table, even spreading some out of the vial......two weeks later...NOTHING! Not a single ant. Please explain how this could be.
Is this stuff safe to use if you have pets? I have a cat and I am having ants coming in from the back of my bed through the baseboards and they come in like every spring. I just hope she doesn't get into it and it hurts her or anything. Any tips?
@@JeffLepard Thanks I actually put out more and it got so bad they were biting, I was wondering if maybe they were fire ants, although they looked more black than red? After getting bit quit a bit, I got mad and ended up spraying them with some ortho home defense spray. I was finding dead ants every day after that for about 4 days, I would clean them up and next day more and more, so I put out more of the ant bait traps and haven't seen any ants since.

@@JeffLepard what outdoor bait stations do you recommend?
If you're having them come in from outdoors, then there are other more heavy duty bait traps you can use. These traps are primarily if you have a problem inside your house.
Great video. To the point yet also entertaining. I'm going to check out your other videos.
Going to drop by my hardware store to pick up 2 packs!
How well does this work with the larger Carpenter ants?
i never thought Johnny S. would be advertise a pest control product
Do these work on the little brown pharoh ants?
Ohh darn I forgot to like and subscribe but thanks for the video
Very informative sir thanks for sharing this to us.
Would like to know how to use this bait in kitchen or what you recommend for cabinets near food.
I used a trap in the area directly behind my kitchen sink last year, and it worked really well. This year, I’m going to be placing a trap in a cabinet where I’ve noticed activity. However, this cabinet only holds dishes, because I keep all unrefrigerated food in the pantry.
I placed newspaper down and put 1 trap. It’s working.
If you have ants where your toilet it, it can be a health warning, could be someone’s urine is high in glucose that maybe a first warning of diabetes.
Interesting. 🤔
Never though of it like that, thanks for the info
Those are carpenter ants they want the wood
I put out this stuff in a room where a wooden spoon with cooked brown rice residue laying on a table for an hour or two had about 6-8 tiny antts crawling over it. I opened a fresh one as above and left if on a corner of the same table, even spreading some out of the vial......two weeks later...NOTHING! Not a single ant. Please explain how this could be.
I've been using this for a week and still have a bunch of ants . Do they build a tolerance for it
It takes 1 to 2 weeks at least. It works amazing trust it.
Is this stuff safe to use if you have pets? I have a cat and I am having ants coming in from the back of my bed through the baseboards and they come in like every spring. I just hope she doesn't get into it and it hurts her or anything. Any tips?
I closed the door to the room where it is because my cat was trying to play with the trap
Big thanks for your shareing thie video
thank you Jeff it works wonders. no more ants!
I swear by this product its amazing! Thanks for watching!
I put the trap on the carpet and it leaked! Now it has solidified, how do you remove?
I've used it and the liquid comes out and sticks on the floor. Am I cutting the tab not far back enough?
I put these out in a basement bathroom that have ants! They starting coming to the stations, but are still coming... why is it not working?
Sometimes it may take a bit longer to work if there's a lot.
Does this also work with ants that show up because of droughts? Cause they're all over my floor and I don't see any in the trap
are these carpenter ants or regular ants? it is hard to see their body structure in the video to tell which ones they are.
It really works. A ton of ants ate it for 3 days and on the 4th day not an ant in site. Its like they all disappeared
great 2 minute video
thanks for this video
I have a barn filled with hundreds of ants. How well would this work?
I would buy a bunch of these
@@JeffLepard Thank you, I appreciate the response. I'll give it a shot.
