  • In today’s video I tried out Terro Ant Killer and tried to get rid of the ants in my lawn. I have recently had a couple of ant beds pop up across the lawn so I went to Lowe’s and picked up a fairly inexpensive ant killer called Terro Ant Killer Plus. Aside from the price, I was drawn to the product because it’s resealable and it has a unique application method; a shake bag. I tried out the product in my front flower bed and back yard. After 24 hours there was still a little activity in the mounds, but after 3 days there were no more visible ants. If you are in the market for some ant killer, check out the review! #lawninsider #terroantkiller #bermudagrass #getridofants #reelmow

    I have a neighbor that doesn't like to read directions and he puts the granules down dry without ever watering them. I don't think they would work it they're not wetted.

    Also, I'll try the Terro if the Sevin I already have doesn't get rid of the ants by the pool.

    Pest control guy here, you used this wrong. These type of baits are what we call "peremiter bait". What you were supposed to do is make a permiter around your house and/or yard. Not place it in certain spots. There are other baits for that type of treatment. Granules are meant to spread. If you want you can also try to spread it evenly across the yard but its cheaper and more efficient to just do the perimeter

      @GemGalDana 7 месяцев назад +1

      No, he did it right. There are specific directions on the bag for spot treatment. Not all products are the same. I hope you read specific directions for products, especially pesticides.

      @nomaderic 7 месяцев назад +5

      @GemGalDana I literally used this product. It's a perimeter bait. The most effective way to spread granules is perimeter style. You CAN do it how he did and it CAN be effective just not as effective as perimeter style. It's the same with spraying. You can give certain areas special treatment but the best way to control pest in general is to secure the perimeter

      The packaging has instructions for both perimeter and spot treatments. So…. There ya go guy

    I live in parkridge and noticed my lawn pulled away from foundation, is it safe to fill it with top soil? Or do you recommend something else?

    • @LawnInsider
      @LawnInsider  Год назад +1

      The soil has shifted because we have a lot of clay and have had very little water. If we ever get a wet season again, the gap should fill in some on its own. I would go with a Sandy loam over straight top soil, as it will offer a bit more flexibility than the top soil if that gap ever does fill in on its own. I also wouldn’t fill it all the way back up.

    I wish this worked. I have used several bags and the ants still build mounds. I have a major ant problem in my yard. I have done my whole yard, it hasn’t worked for me.

      if thats the case where you see ants everywhere then thats an infestation, bugs control is your only answer unless you wanna keep spraying ant spray for a whole week on your own.

      It is working, the colonies are just reproducing faster than you can kill them... I wish people understood that its impossible to get rid of ants

    Let me tell you some people that stuff in this video and that orange Bay save your money. Trust me, save your money. I've tried it numerous times I dumped it on the ant hill. 1 day the next day went back and looked the ants had razor blades, chopping it up in little lying to snort, and it looked at me and said you've got some more, that's good Save your own money

    Fire ants are the bane of my life. I usually get bit every time i cut my lawn so i tried some well known fire ant killer and it didn't do squat. I am wondering if they have their main hive under my house slab where the killer can't reach? I am at my wits end!

    People it’s ok if your children get bitten by bugs. As a child I use to be outside all the time and was stung, bitten and getting hurt. It’s a part of child hood. Wild life is a part of life.

      Have you had 6+ fire ant bites at 1 time? They are not something to play with, especially if you have a toddler. It’s not like a mosquito bite, it’s horrid. Fall or sit on a fire ant colony…you may change your mind
