    Hi,
    What was the setting or spreader number, you used on Scott's edge guard mini?

    • @mikeshomeandgarden
      @mikeshomeandgarden  3 месяца назад

      Hello! On the edge guard I usually run between 4-5 on the dial. I'll adjust a bit depending on how the distribution is and how fast I feel like walking that day as that impacts coverage.

    I'm gonna give this stuff a try I bought the two Bags on Amazon for only $13.00 Dollars we have a major problem Year after Year with Moles we've tried everything from Traps to Poison to Sonic Spikes to Juicy Fruit Gum and we still see lots of Mole Hills. We used Milky Spore Grub Control in the past and that worked for getting rid of the Moles but Milky Spore is around $50.00 Dollars a Bag and I'm not really one to spend a lot on Lawn Care so I hope this stuff works just as good as Milky Spore did.

    my 'lawn'/weeds that came with home 1/2 acre is loaded with biting insects. also an ant farm !! ;(. should i mow area short before applying? my neighbor tells me to cut at 3"so bremuda grass will shade out weeds. it looks so awful, i have been cutting it really short for 3 yrs. i need a change badly without costing a fortune. any advise?

    • @mikeshomeandgarden
      @mikeshomeandgarden  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for the comment! You don't have to mow before applying the bug product, but it can help give more time for the product to work undisturbed. Mow, then If you can get it down right before the rain or have a chance to use irrigation to get it into the ground it'll start working quick, you can maximize the time it's down before the mower goes over it again

      I've got 5 acres and am back to native plants only. It is so much better than traditional lawn. I do treat pests by using nematodes twice a year. And it's also important to spray yourself with repellent while you're getting a handle on your dangerous ticks, etc. When you allow frogs, lizards and yes, snakes to hunt bugs and hide out in your property you won't even have mice. I love the natural look of my place and every year I'm adding to our native plants growing all over the place. It's easy and nontoxic. You will look at lawns and find them to be outdated by nature now. lol

    Does this kill wasp

    • @mikeshomeandgarden
      @mikeshomeandgarden  2 года назад

      Technically yes. It's a non selective insecticide, so it'll kill whatever comes into contact with it. However wasps being flying insects, it's not an effective deterrent. Wasps are better treated with sprays. Thanks for the question and for watching!

    I must have ants that are immune. I applied this twice in two weeks. Looks like more ants than ever now. Got anything that works?

    • @mikeshomeandgarden
      @mikeshomeandgarden  Год назад +1

      Anytime I still see critters around after applying this stuff, depending on how many areas, if it's a lot I'll do another blanket application of the liquid hose end version, if it's a few spots I'll just use some Ortho home defense and spot treat. Usually this stuff takes care of ants! Other things I've used is Amdro, is my go to for ants and specifically designed to target them.

    • @stevehainestrumpet
      @stevehainestrumpet Год назад

      I've heard several say to take a shovel and heap one shovelful on top one bed from another and they will fight to the death. They say it works. Sometimes fire ant beds tunnel 20 feet down and that's how they easily switch from one poisoned mound & off to make another. So, send in troops from another ant colony.

    • @M1k3H0nch0

      I agree with the Amdro. I use Traizicide on the lawn but spread the Amdro around the perimeter of my house. Don't forget diatomaceous Earth around the house too if you have a spider problem.

      That's a lot! You don't necessarily have to treat all three unless you have seasonal bug issues all over the property. You can focus on the areas that only have turf, grass around the house, etc.
