I appreciate the instructions on how to lay it down. II have this product but haven’t used it yet.
This has to be one of the best vids on yard pest control.
Thank you for the kind words!
Great advice. Simple and fun. Even budget conscious. Thanks!
Appreciate the comment!
Nice job Mike. I like the Triazicide also. Speads very easily and works well.

I had billbugs last year, when is a good time to put down billbug killer in the spring in Boise, Id? Thank you
Thanks for watchIng! In my opinion any time is the right time for bug control. The sooner you get it down the sooner it'll start acting on the bugs as the hatch. That's how I've done it, and it hasn't failed me yet!
Hey Mike, thanks for the great info. I do have a question tho: if I just poured a weed killer, how long should I wait before applying this?
Appreciate the comment! You can both the same day! I do it every year for spring. I hit the weed treatment and first bug treatment on one lawn care day.
@@mikeshomeandgarden came here for the same question. Thanks for the info! Definitely will use your affiliate link.
Hi,
What was the setting or spreader number, you used on Scott's edge guard mini?
Hello! On the edge guard I usually run between 4-5 on the dial. I'll adjust a bit depending on how the distribution is and how fast I feel like walking that day as that impacts coverage.
I'm gonna give this stuff a try I bought the two Bags on Amazon for only $13.00 Dollars we have a major problem Year after Year with Moles we've tried everything from Traps to Poison to Sonic Spikes to Juicy Fruit Gum and we still see lots of Mole Hills. We used Milky Spore Grub Control in the past and that worked for getting rid of the Moles but Milky Spore is around $50.00 Dollars a Bag and I'm not really one to spend a lot on Lawn Care so I hope this stuff works just as good as Milky Spore did.
Thanks for watching! I think the product should work just fine for the issue!
@@mikeshomeandgarden No problem and yeah I sure hope so! Thanks!
What is the proper setting for the edgeguard spreader? Mine is just like yours.
I usually start at 4 and then move up or down based on how distribution is going.
Do you think this could treat biting mites? My dog is only outside for a short time but keeps bring them in. We’re both itching.
Mites are listed under the lawn application instructions on the bag as an insect it treats so I think so! Hope you see some results with it! Thanks for watching!
@@mikeshomeandgarden How common are they inside homes? I can’t figure out if it’s coming from inside (dust) or outside.
You could try bathing your dog in a virgin motor oil.
What about watering the treated area? Is that optional ?
Optional based on your local weather report. Free sky water is preferred.
Can you use this in the fall.
Any time of year!
my 'lawn'/weeds that came with home 1/2 acre is loaded with biting insects. also an ant farm !! ;(. should i mow area short before applying? my neighbor tells me to cut at 3"so bremuda grass will shade out weeds. it looks so awful, i have been cutting it really short for 3 yrs. i need a change badly without costing a fortune. any advise?
Thanks for the comment! You don't have to mow before applying the bug product, but it can help give more time for the product to work undisturbed. Mow, then If you can get it down right before the rain or have a chance to use irrigation to get it into the ground it'll start working quick, you can maximize the time it's down before the mower goes over it again
I've got 5 acres and am back to native plants only. It is so much better than traditional lawn. I do treat pests by using nematodes twice a year. And it's also important to spray yourself with repellent while you're getting a handle on your dangerous ticks, etc. When you allow frogs, lizards and yes, snakes to hunt bugs and hide out in your property you won't even have mice. I love the natural look of my place and every year I'm adding to our native plants growing all over the place. It's easy and nontoxic. You will look at lawns and find them to be outdated by nature now. lol
How frequently you apply it?
Twice a year, Once in the spring as the bugs are waking up. And once mid summer when they're going insane.
Do u cover all your grass or just make a perimeter around ur home
I cover the whole lawn because we get fire ants if I don't and it protects against grubs.
Thanks
When to apply 1st app? 😮
In most areas, now is the time! If you have snow still, wait for it to melt then apply.
Will this treatment harm the grass?
Nope! The grass shouldn't be negatively impacted.
Does this kill wasp
Technically yes. It's a non selective insecticide, so it'll kill whatever comes into contact with it. However wasps being flying insects, it's not an effective deterrent. Wasps are better treated with sprays. Thanks for the question and for watching!
Dawn dishwashing liquid @ 1 - 10 dilution with water. No return!
is it pet safe?
I'd err on the side of caution and say no. I'd wait for it to be watered in and dried at least.
I must have ants that are immune. I applied this twice in two weeks. Looks like more ants than ever now. Got anything that works?
Anytime I still see critters around after applying this stuff, depending on how many areas, if it's a lot I'll do another blanket application of the liquid hose end version, if it's a few spots I'll just use some Ortho home defense and spot treat. Usually this stuff takes care of ants! Other things I've used is Amdro, is my go to for ants and specifically designed to target them.
@@mikeshomeandgarden That's funny. I just applied some Amdro. I must have an ant farm in my front yard! I have applied the Spectracide two weeks in a row. I will try this a couple of more times and look for improvement. Thanks for the reply.
Steve
I've heard several say to take a shovel and heap one shovelful on top one bed from another and they will fight to the death. They say it works. Sometimes fire ant beds tunnel 20 feet down and that's how they easily switch from one poisoned mound & off to make another. So, send in troops from another ant colony.
I agree with the Amdro. I use Traizicide on the lawn but spread the Amdro around the perimeter of my house. Don't forget diatomaceous Earth around the house too if you have a spider problem.
Dam i have 3 acres!
That's a lot! You don't necessarily have to treat all three unless you have seasonal bug issues all over the property. You can focus on the areas that only have turf, grass around the house, etc.
I tried this thanks to this video. It did NOT even touch the white bugs that fly all over...VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!!!
Sorry to hear that! As a broad spectrum insecticide it should handle most bugs in the yard. I have had the little white moths too and it seems to control them.
I've got those white leaf hoppers I want gone!!!!!!
If you can read, don't waste your time on this vid.
What if you are not able to read? Do those viewers still have to watch it?
Never trust someone wearing champion
I agree. They're always up to no good!
You talk to much get to the point
That's no fun
Oh no, 5 minutes of my life. Only if RUclips allowed you to skip ahead xD
Seriously though, great video Adam!
Half of your video is talking about time stamps and subscribing and what you might talk about in the video and obvious things like. “Your lawn might need big control”
This bag treats 5k square feet and my yard is half that… so that means I get two treatments out of one bag. Duh
Videos could be 1/4 the length. You’re talking to us like we are 4. No 4 year olds are doing lawn treatment
Yet you watched, AND commented. You get a gold star 😂
You are very smart and helpful. 🤠❤🤍💙👍
Thanks so much for watching and the comment!!
