I found this today and I am now a new subscriber. Not guitar based song has moved me think this intro since Maggot Brain. Thank you so much. You have a new fan, subscriber and supporter. Simply amazing.
Excellent presentation. Definitely covered every inch of the Roto. My son managed to find an almost new one for me a couple years ago and it is a must have for that "ROBIN TROWER" Bridge of Sighs sound "(I can't believe you didn't mention Trower). Again, Excellent review. Love your channel. Your playing is phenomenal!!!
And Dave plugs in and sets Friday evening up to be another belter. Just wonder how many people wait for the Friday evening 6 string session from Dave S. Hope you all have a good weekend.
Honestly make my evenings better and better, and I see u have adopted a new room now Dave, rock on and I hope your doing well today and tomorrow or when u see this, rock on dude ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼
Useful info for those wanting to tweak the internal trim pots... obviously you'll require your guitar through your amp to hear any change in the effect as you tweak.. turn down the tone pot on yer guitar & you'll hear the effect/pulse far better to choose where to set.. The pedals not true bypass & switching on is at the fastest speed so be quick to adjust.. another tip, use a small loop pedal so you can switch the pedal on at ur preferred speed & the pedals not sucking your guitars signal when not being used..
A truly amazing guitar intro on the rotovibe (reminded me of Robin Trower somewhat) and as always very inspiring. It's an amazing pedal that you sound very much at home with. Thanks again Dave.
Received Rotovibe today, Now I can see what you were on about great pedal works well will an Oxblood or a black County customs a Tony Iommi pedals and more to check out thanks a lot Dave it was a great choice
I can’t say I’m any closer to deciding between a rotovibe or a traditional univibe for my board, but that was a stellar demo and explanation. I’ll end up watching this all again before i decide. I wish your mic could handle all that volume!! Lol cheers
Update: gotta go bare bones on groceries for a couple weeks but I’m pulling the trigger on a rotovibe. I’ve watched this 40 minute vid all the way through 4 times

I'm a 50 years old and I feel your soul is thousand years old. I play guitar since 30 years old, I can't listen to music cause I get very bored. Songs are like a movie to me. I listen them only once. You got my 100 % attention. I saw all influences, intentions and heard a cosmic fluidity into your playing and quality of effect blending. The last is the one I need to compose better. Mesmerizing Dave. Btw, I have the fulltone Deja Vibe. I should vary the speed of the vibe with the big knob by the foot but I never use this option.

I had one, which I used on and off throughout the 90's. It stopped working one day, just dead - no sound at all and a replacement was too expensive. It was great. I'd love one again, but it's nearly as big as my entire pedal board these days, so not very practical for me.
I bought one in 94'. Idk if I'd pay $250+ for another these days but I will. Oh. I bought it because of McCready doing Hey Baby with Chris Cornell under the name M.A.C.C. Notable cover👊
Although I watch almost all of your videos, I'm not as interested in pedals as some are. That's ok because we all have our own road to walk and many people will find pedals do help them express themselves.I usually use a Chanel switch in a mess boogie preamp( with its spring reverb) and a TC chorus running into a scholtz stereo echo(analogue delay) and from there to a fifty watt a side Marshall tube power amp. Mostly this is all I need.I also sometimes use a TS808 tube screamer.I'm not against pedals but prefer the ones that don't radically change the sound. If you compare music to food , effects are similar in function to flavour enhancers (sauces) Having huge amounts of pedals is to me like heaps of tomato sauce on a smaller quantity of a pie, more sauce than pie, and I want still to taste mostly the pie. Pedals and effects I prefer are ones that don't obscure the flavour of the amp and speaker. The chorus I use is only to give a varying colour over a long set. This means that many people are playing the pedals more than the guitar and amp, which to me is putting the cart before the horse, but as I say- each to his or her own. Some may not have transport as their primary objective in a horse and cart, and might enjoy the spectacle of an entertaining pacing around the yard backwards!I preferred Jimi with effects that enhance the guitar and amp sound such as on all along the watchtower. rather than the concrete mixer sort of effects on machine gun.So to all- do it your way, but don't fall down that rabbit hole of being so seduced by ear tickling sounds, that the initial purpose of playing music is lost.I was guilty of these sort of obsessions myself for years; mainly to do with amps and guitars, but now actual playing is something I can concentrate on, having arrived at an amp and effects/guitars set up that is ok. I could keep chasing that dragon, but I realised after reading about Eric Johnson's struggles in this area that this is something that we all don't realise is more about the fun of the journey rather than the destination, so have all the fun you can along the way but don't forget what your envisaged destination is and always has been.Look who's talking- ( a hasbeen!) So plow on, as the actress said to the bishop!
Superb instrumental Intro, Dave. In my opinion, the cons of that red beauty are, on the one hand, it is not exactly economic or cheap and, on the other hand, once you purchase one, you must adjust the inside in order to give power to the final sound, of course, hoping not to spoil the unit by mistake...The pro is that it has a slightly different effect in comparison with the original unit vibe that Hendrix used to play with...
Dave thanks. Which button do you tweak for the chorus and which for the vibrato? Also which to get ? The JH or JD for Hendrix sound? And can both be tweaked inside? Please answer quick as you can ... there's one being offered to me. A JH one for $160 ..
Hey Dave, I may have a strange question: Can you do a guitar cover of a Croatian song-"Ima nesto od srca do srca Crvena Jabuka", the guitar has this beautiful clean sound, I think you might like it. Greetings from Croatia and thanks for all your work
Cracking intro Dave!☺ I love the Katana univibe also the rotovibe and univibe on the Zoom G5n are decent!😃 Big shout out to the Hondo guitar like to hear more about it is there a video about it?😮
I have a original 1993 JH4S Rotovibe, but it don't do the throb and deep sound like yours JD4S. I spend some hours tweeking the trimmers, but mine Rotovibe is so much smoother, like McCready's on Mad Season
Hey Dave how are you doing? Good I hope. I really dig your videos and your playing of course. I just got myself a rotovibe jd-4s been wanting one for a long time. Just wondering what you thought of mark knopfler. you may have already talked about him but my attention span is short. Keep up the good work.

That makes sense!
I would buy that!

Happy for you! Keep on learning and play with everyone you can anywhere and at anytime!
Jorge Mendoza thank you! i’m going to another open mic in a week because of you comment.
How do you get gigs that fast?
That's great and a helluva song to start with :) Keep going - it only gets better!
Jon-Paul Ling thanks! I’m handing the time of my life playing guitar. But the neighbours aren’t that pleased. :)
36:00 - Thank you so much for the tip - I did this to my Rotovibe & it sounds way way better now.
This video was super helpful made me go out and buy a rotovibe I had always heard mike mcreedy solos and didn’t know this was the missing ingredient
That was an astonishing intro - even by your own stellar standards. Amazing. Thank you for making that.
Got mine in late 94 because of zakk wylde used it with pride&glory... Still use and love it!!
This has to be one of my fav intro jams on the channel🤯❤️
Thoroughly enjoying your intro jams Dave.
