    The house in the last story was an historic house. I would have demanded thst they build back the old house using historic methods and materials.

      Any electrical and plumbing would have to be to new code but plaster and lath and wood floors, possibly a slate roof, etc. would cost a fortune. The HOA would have gone bankrupt and the HOA members would still have to cough up additional money's including suing Karen for anything she had of value, house, jewelry, bank accounts, etc.

    Last story: Karen was waiting for you in your house? She's damn lucky she (I assume) doesn't live in a Stand Your Ground state like Florida. Imagine this scenario.
    You live in Florida, where you personally practice Open Carry. You come home from work and find that someone had broken into your home while you were out. You draw your gun from its holster and enter your house. You see the damage done to your walls and move to take a closer look. Suddenly, someone behind you says "Still think that this is your house?" You spin around and open fire on the intruder. Congratulations Karen. Your greed and insanity just got your ass killed.

    If I went to an HOA meeting and they said that they had documents I would be calling a lawyer the next morning to get this settled because that's sketchy shit right there. Cuz I don't want anybody to have documents like mine that are different you know.

    Wrong way story: Been there. I'm a retired truck driver. Around 20 years ago when my family and I lived in Michigan we were to go to a family reunion being held in Springfield, Illinois. At the time I-80 from the Illinois/Indiana state line to about exit 12 in Indiana was under MAJOR construction. It could take over 3 hours to travel that 12 miles due to how heavy the traffic could be with the lane reductions from construction. As a truck driver I was often forced to take this route as there really weren't any good alternate routes, especially for a semi. I told my parents, brother and sister this, but being the youngest they chose not to listen, despite me driving this route several times per month. Well I left home about an hour after they did, but arrived over an hour earlier than the family at the reunion site by driving an alternate route I tried to tell the family about. I even got there early enough to let the kids take a short swim and still got to the reunion site before anyone else. For whatever reason they took the same route back. I tried.
    Target story: Good job buying the one item Karen wanted out from under her, despite it being a size too big.
    HOA Karen story: I wouldn't take bets on it being over, Anton. I'd make sure I've got some security cameras, inside and out, as well as an alarm system. I'd also be staying in contact with the prosecutor's office to find out when Karen is released ("good behavior" and/or possible prison overcrowding for an early release) in order to get a restraining order just prior to her getting out. Karen might try to make good on her threat when she gets out.

    You gotta love these HOA Karens that think they have more powers than they really do. It's nice to see that they don't get away with it. Especially when they take on the wrong person. Like the one where they thought OP was a dirt poor farmer. He was actually loaded. He hired investigators and turned up plenty of dirt like the president was a D dealer. I would've loved to be at that HOA meeting.

    Had a GPS take me to an address 40 miles from where we were headed. After arriving at someone's home instead of the hotel we were going to, I drove on to a gas station, checked the GPS, and saw we were 3 towns north of our destination! I deleted that map app (pre-installed on the phone, downloaded a different one & we made our destination an hour later than plan.

    • @Sparky0627
      @Sparky0627 14 дней назад

      Really? Blame the app instead of taking responsibility for not double-checking? Garbage In, Garbage Out. YOU selected the wrong address. Each GPS app offers suggestions on addresses, and one needs to select the proper address. It's on YOU when you select the WRONG ONE!

    • @Captain_Bad_Bill
      @Captain_Bad_Bill 14 дней назад +1

      @Sparky0627 it was the same address, same street. So, no, I didn't double-check the town. When I tried to re-enter it with the correct town, it still defaulted to the wrong place. It was making me jump through too many hoops to get it right. The new got me straight to the correct location! This was early in cellphone mapping. The year before this, we were using Microsoft streets & trips with a GPS USB plug. My wife held the laptop on her lap while I drove.

  • @harryboyes2812
    @harryboyes2812 13 дней назад +2

    First story. I don't trust those map apps. To cite just one example, I helped deliver a car to a customer. On the way back to our dealership the app tried to direct me on a route I knew wasn't correct; basically it told me to go north when I needed to go west. So I disregarded the silly thing. Modern technology. Sometimes I swear it causes more headaches than it cures.

We got to an intersection and I said: "Make the next left." My father asked: "Left?" and i replied: "Right." So my father turned right. We had to go almost a mile before we could turn around. My father brought that up for years. But I did learn to say :"correct" rather than "right".

    • @melkiorwiseman5234
      @melkiorwiseman5234 13 дней назад

      You can tell that it's chatbot fiction from several clues. One of them is how the chatbot always has the protaganist of the story going to an HOA meeting instead of far more sensible alternatives. The other clue in this particular story, is how the house must have been old enough to be of historical significance, yet there was no mention of that, nor of it having to be reconstructed according to period-correct methods, etc..

    The I don't work here story is a good one. I once sold a product line for a company which has multiple unrelated lines. I walked into a store wearing a logo shirt and was immediately confronted by someone demanding I repair a product made by a different division. They refused to believe I knew nothing about the product they wanted fixed.

    100 year plus old house by me that HOA would have been forced to pay for the rebuild, to look exactly like it had been when built, but also rebuilt up to current code, with the exterior being absolutely identical. No short cuts, all manual labour, and all qualified artisans with the build, and exactly to standard as well. Any bricks will have to be period correct, which could actually cost more than new brick, as they are no longer made, so they will have to be bought as antiques, at that price point, and probably half would be deemed unsuitable due to damage as well. Same for original old growth timbers, that is not cheap, and again would have to be trucked in from all over as well, along with custom doors and windows, built to look like the old ones, but with modern requirements. That would probably have bankrupted the HOA, and they in turn would be in a suit against Karen to recoup those monies as well, and all those who assisted her would be part of the suit as well, losing everything bar the clothes on their backs.

    As said on another channel. "They" build a house on my land. Court ruled, they can´t come on my land to use it and pay me for the time, this house is on my land. House is getting old and falling in price. If they have payed me what the house is worth, i´ll buy their house. So, they are paying me, to buy their house. A new home for free. Don´t build on another mans land.
    Full story? RedWheel, ask me.

    I have tons of friends who live in the same city as I do i’m thoroughly relying on GPS maps
    I always say I know the way let’s just follow my route
    The route the GPS picks is always an incredibly meandering route and sometimes just wrong altogether
    I can’t understand the total reliance on GPS is when they are always off

    • @Sparky0627
      @Sparky0627 14 дней назад

      First off: Depending on the GPS, some include traffic info. This usually means that the route will try to avoid any accidents or backed up traffic areas. That means a "meandering" route.
      Second: YOU input and select the address. If you end up at the "wrong" address, that's a YOU problem, not a GPS problem. Whenever I've ended up at the wrong address, it's because "I" selected the wrong one! Not the GPS!
      ETA: One also needs to check the settings! Did you select to avoid Tolls, Car Pool lanes, etc? Did you select Fastest or Shortest? Did you UPDATE (if it's not on your phone) the GPS?
      Selecting to avoid tolls can send you out of the way! Fastest isn't always the shortest route (because speeds vary).
