    How did the machine use different color? Did you have to stop and change colors?

    I am a long time subscriber, so what I want to know is: what is the music you used for this video?
    I just got the Brother PE 500, so far, I need thread, and stabilizer, and little shirts to embroider for my new Grandson, so THANKS for this informative video!

    That is NOT the right way. The first stitch is the outline of where to place the applique material. The second stitch holds the applique material to the shirt. You leave it attached and trim around it. The third stitch is the final satin stitch. If you would have done it this way, you wouldn't have had all of that material poking outside the satin stitch. I hope your viewers read this.

    Your vid is a dream to watch i felt sick watching some of the other vids they are very long winded or out of frame or focus and none of them edited thank you. Also you might want to look at way you do the cut out of the applqué as I find it easer to do the base stitch then tack down fabric and do it again then cut out

    Hi there! Sorry it took me so long to respond. This is actually how brother suggests you applique with this machine. I prefer it because it's easier to get a clean cut when the fabric is not sewn to the base fabric. You do have to be very accurate. The samples that show the fabric around the edge are intentionally raw edge applique, a popular trend for fashion applique. If you prefer cutting after, there is nothing wrong with that, it's very forgiving, especially for beginners! Thanks!

    First off, Gorden is a angel! I have a Bernina embroidery machine, similar in size to your Brother. I have made many attempts to ask Bernina corporate and Bernina dealers for help on how to use my machine to do embroidery applique getting no help at all so I just gave up on trying to do this until I saw your video! I had no idea you didn't need to buy super expensive embroidery software to do this!!! Thank you so much! Great video!

    Totally, like yootoobpresident said! You do not stitch and cut the applique piece first. You hoop your shirt first with stabilizer. Stitch the outline stitch on that, then place applique fabric on the hooped shirt, over the first outline stitch. The machine will now do a second outline stitch over the appliqued fabric and shirt. Remove the hoop at this point, cut the applique fabric at the second outline stitch, then place the hooped items back to stitch the final stitching.

    I just noticed that too. I'm trying to watch videos to learn how to applique and I this one just set me back a step or two. Now to watch the correct way again because I'm confused with the steps! Thanks for posting this yootoobpresident. I thought the finished product looked awlful.

    Thank you for the video. I am having the hardest time finding someone to teach how to program our machines to do the applique process. Every video I have come across skips past those steps, assuming we know. Do you have any video of how to program the applique process, much less how to add images and letter monogramming to the applique without messing up the placement? TIA

    Love to see more.... What kind of clips did you use to hold back the shirt so it wouldn't get caught in the sewing?
    Thanks

    How do you keep the shirt from moving while you're embroidering without hooping it? Did you clip it to the sides? I'm afraid the fabric will move

    I'm having issues with my pe500. The bobbin thread keeps showing up on the top and not showing my top thread. I've tried re-threading both top & bottom &adjusted my tension. Still nothing...

    • @Trayne1837
      @Trayne1837 9 лет назад

      Check your upper tension. If it continues to do it just put the same color thread in both top and bobbin

    Where did you get that thread rack?

      If you use a thread rack, your thread gets DUSTY. You know how dusty your table gets in a week???

    • @covid-19inthistogether96
      @covid-19inthistogether96 9 лет назад

      Vicky Lynn I was really digging that rack too, thanks for the reminder about the dust. I keep my spools in one of those plastic boxes with the snap clicks or inside a drawer. I think it looks nice for her if you want your studio to look pretty and professional if you are doing videos on a regular basis.
