I am BRAND NEW to machine embroidery and this is a great video to actual see how to appliqué. Before I say this I always figured it would be so hard to do. Maybe I'll make some personalized beach towels for my SoCal relatives!
So helpful! Does this work on very thick towels? The one you demonstrated on seemed a little thin, and the Walmart or Target I shop at doesn’t carry thinner beach towels. Want to make for my grandchildren. Thanks so much for such clear. Instructions.
I like this tutorial very nice indeed .I've done a patch work quilt and I already finished it .Now I was thinking to make a name on it. Is it possible to do a machine applique on top of the three layers background batting and backing ?Thanks for your help
Question, do all machines come with the appliqué stitch or is that you have to download on your machine. I have a babylock Vesta machine. Im a total newbie. My machine is sewing and embroidery but wondering if I can do the appliqué as well without downloading anything. Thanks for any advice
@@tenapeters8107 the stitch is part of the embroidery pattern or font. This particular font didn’t come with my Machine but you can purchase it and use it with embroidery software and stitch it with your machine
Thanks for walking us through this, just got a Janome from Costco. Have no idea about embroidery or applique work. The owners manuel have no instructions on any of these. Do you think you can do more videos using the Janome? And where does one get some of these designs? Greatful viewer
Lori, have you ever done it with whoopi g the towel instead of laying it on top of the hoop. I have only seen it done with everything hooped so this was a new method for me.
Depending on the towel, yes. If it’s a thicker towel I find it hard to hoop. This is not a thick towel and could he hooped but I prefer this method of floating. I really don’t hoop much at all if I can get away from it
I learned for you a lot and thank you so much but my second question I did some letters with my Mashine and was perfect. I came back to your video and I don’t know for patches you need set up your machine deferent or is same working for letters? Again thank you for everything you teaching us 🙏 Happy Christmas 🎄🙏✌️🌺
Hi Lorrie, I've often heard you mention your serger, what model do you have are you happy with it? How did you go about making a choice from all the brands and models out there?
Thank you so much and God bless you 🙏 My English is not okay and I don’t understand very well. Can you please let me know about the name of the paper you used for the bottom and the top of towel. Thank you so much 🙏✌️🌺
Please be careful using pins and that they are out of reach of you needle. They can really do some damage. Blue painters tape works great and you can use it more the once. Scotch tape works too. I hope this is helpful.

Amazing. Thank you so much.
Great video thank you , looking forward to seeing more of your embroidery tutorials.
So cute! I've always wanted an embroidery machine but right now I can't justify getting one. Love your videos! 💖💖💖
Fantastic video as always! I’m for sure going to try this for the first time. If I mess up at least I will have a practice towel 😂
Putting heat and bond lite on the fabric really helps in fraying of fabric and a beautiful finish when it’s done. I love doing the appliqué fonts too
I have used hnb too but i didn’t want this to get Too stiff feeling since it’s a towel for my grandkids.
Lorrie Nunemaker if you only use lite it doesn’t get that feel. I use it on all T-shirts, onesies etc. but the regular hnb does get stiff for sure.
More applique videos please!! (:
Awesome video thank you ! I’m still hoping soon I can buy an embroidery machine !!
Thank you for thesetutorials
Thank you for the tutorial!
I love this
Did I miss it or do you not put heat n bond lite on the back of the fabric for the letters?
Thank you definitely going to try I bought embroidery machine year ago still don't know how to applicat. 😂
Can you please tell me what is the name of the scissors you are using.. fantastic video
Which applique font do you recommend?
Love this video. Hoping to get a machine soon. Would you be able to do a video doing raw edge applique cutting the letters out with the cricut maker?
What font is this one?
Do all machines have the placement stitch??
What is the name of the appliqué font? Where did you get it from?
I would love to know this too!

Can you use pre wound bobbins on your janome? Awesome video! Thank you in advance!

I just wet the corners with a drop of water on the wash away and it stays in place.
Great tip!
Do the binder clips make marks on your machine?
They have not left any marks

The bottom is cutaway stabilizer and the topping is water soluble stabilizer. Both are linked in video description
@@LorrieNunemaker thank you so much God bless you 🙏✌️🌺
I use double sided sticky tape to hold towel and water soluable stabilizer.
Very awesome. I don’t have good luck with sticky tape it always snags the towel
